Shad
You don't think he is going to let me wear them where anyone would see me without him lol. They are for the house, they are for our walks in the park. They are for him to see and only to be worn when he is with me lol. He loved me and how I looked at almost 200 pounds and wanted me to dress the same way he wants me to dress now for him lol. I personally think the man needs his glasses changed lol. You are right, planning is important. I make menus for the week before I do my shopping. I may have to go out for more fruit and fresh veggies but that is it. I shop all at one time. The less times you are in a store the less times you have to spend more money than you should.

Oh my gosh some of the ways woman dress. I have seen better meat on display at the butcher shops. Woman, come on, there are some clothes you really need to be in shape and 20 years of age to wear lol.

Happy Sunday Evening Ladies....

Rennie...Did you say head nut. Welcome to the coo coo farm, head coo coo here....

MEL...Yes, you all are more than welcome to come to my house for exercise with Diyana leading the class. It will probably take you all to get my flabby *ss off the couch. haha And I did hear you ran the local lost and found, be sure to put someone in charge when you leave for my house. ;^) Thanks for the great info on the stimulus checks, still no check. Bastroids~~

Happy....the memory is the first thing to go. Do not worry, it is just the aging process. Vitiman A helps with memory. I know milk and dairy cause me to toot, probably the calcium tabs do to, altho I toot so much who is to really know what causes it. My DD will walk in the room a full 30 minutes after the toot and say, "you have been farting, haven't you, cause it is seeping out". hahahaha

Ceej..Let me know how you like the WATP dvd. Maybe I will shake the dust off mine and tear off the cellophane.

Diyana....I am so proud of you and your accomplishments with your health, exercise, and food choices. YOU ROCK SISTA!!

Ran into a neice of a guy I used to date as a teenager, my first real love.... She told me his wife died 2 years ago and I should call him. He lives in Michigan, 5 hour drive, plus I haven't seen him since I was 18. We will see.

Speaking of toots, I just gassed up the place, better open the windows and get some air in here before we are all asphyxiated (sp).

Love and Hugs

Annie

Annie
I do like the dvd. However, I'm to tired tonight to do any kind of exercise. Got most of it at work today.

Happy
You asked about the storms and work. Lightning hit a pole just outside the plant. We are now running things on hand. I've even had to go to the electrical room to operate some things. Just like when they were remodleing the plant. I hope they can get our electronics guy back tomorrow, but I'm not expecting it. He lives in Little Rock, AR.

I'm both physically and mentally exhausted.

Hi to all the rest. Maybe things will be better tomorrow.

The baby kitties are here!!! :cloud9: :D

Last week at the Humane Society the girl we always check in with said it's about the time when the abandoned kittens should be arriving. Sure enough when we walked in today, a lady was sitting on the floor with 5 kittens in a carrier. She found them roaming by the bushes in her neighbor's yard - no sign of momma cat. They were all cute little fuzz balls but one in particular was an adorable calico. The lady who brought them in said if she could, she would have kept the calico. They were mewing their little mews and I picked one up, just a hank of fur and tiny little bones. Awwwwwww. Now I can accept that I can't talk all the big kitties home but I can love them for a few hours each week but my heart just goes to mush with baby kittens. We walked past the front desk and I went into the back room and there were 2 more pens of kittens. That made 11 kittens in one week. Honestly, if we were not going on vacation shortly, I would have been tempted to at least foster some of them. The Humane Society will not allow them to be adopted out until they are old enough to get their shots and be spayed/neutered. They were soooooo adorable. There were some new younger cats too. One tabby was adorable, she was roaming free in the room and I cuddled her for a while. I was then paying attention to the other cats and she came along and scuddled up my leg :yikes: Little needle claws. Everyone was really looking for attention today. DH was not feeling well and was kind of begging off going but he was a trouper and went with me. Good thing because he helped me with some of the bigger cats who were just looking for a little loving. He was also Mr. Groomer and had quite a sizable hair ball when finished.

Otherwise, the day kind of got away from us as usual. I have little tasks to do each night after work and I should be ok. Was following suit with some of you ladies and we hauled some boxes out of the closets when we had the new floor put in. Found 5 pairs of winter boots including the missing mate to one I had upstairs. I tossed 2 pairs that the salt had eaten away the leather. Kept one pair of short and one pair to the knee just for travels back north. I also have about 6 winter coats in various sizes and considering I only wear a winter coat when we go to Chicago for Chirstmas (ok you people, no hurling :snowball: at me  ) - I should get rid of most of them. No place down here to really give them away and I had to bog down my mom's place - heaven knows she has enough jun.. treasures :D and she won't get rid of something she thinks still has good use to it. But we were able to empty 3 boxes so we made good progress on the dejunking.

I didn't get to the grocery store so we warmed up some leftovers. I rewarmed 2 pieces of fish and had about 2 spoons of cole slaw. That was a mistake. It keeps talking back to me (the opposite of tooting Annie - can't say which is worse :D ) I just feel really ugh at the moment. I'm going to find something to whip up for DH and I'm going to eat up the Lean Cuisine dinners in the freezer this week. Have to start clearing out some room for when Mom comes so she has a place for her food too.

And after a long ramble, that's it for me.

Yikes Ceejay - you be careful there. Doesn't sound at all like fun at work lately. You have a scary job

Annie - thanks for mentioning about the dairy - come to think of it, the calcium pill plus the days I'm having an afternoon yogurt could be conspiring on me in the afternoon. So... are you going to look up the first love???? Sometimes it's better when we close the book and leave it closed but the curiosity is always there. At least you look like a hot babe now -

Rennie - have you ever considered taking up sewing or alterations? At least then you could take in the pants and blouses and get more wear out of them. Sometimes too it's better to have knit tops - they cover about 3 sizes and you can get more wear out of them. Though I do not like todays tight and layered styles. Ok if you are 18 with a washboard tummy but not ok if you've seen a few rolls in your life  And I do shop with a list - always. Like you I make my menus up before I go shopping. It's just that sometimes I'll buy 2 apples and when it comes time to eat them, I'm not in the mood for apples or oranges or such. There is also the problem Shad speaks of where you need something like leeks for a recipe and you can't buy just one - or you're not sure just how many you'll need for a new recipe you've never made before.

Mel - enjoy the trip to the mall but don't be coming home with anything you'll be tossing back out or giving away in 2 months. :nono: Just get out and enjoy the day.

Michelle - think I should tell DH that we should both quit our jobs to see if the mental lapses are just due to work stress? I can see it now, I have to go on disability because the stress of the work environment is causing me to lose my mind. :lol3: I would never be that lucky! So you are working with a trainer at the gym now - that's great!

Shad - no way could I sleep in a red bedroom. I would have to borrow Elvis' round bed with the mirrors and the shag (oops another bad word) bedspread. We have pulled most of our money to safer money market funds with the stock market so tumbly tho DH is starting to dabble again. He has done better to protect our investments than any financial planner has. I am glad he has taken that job because I sure am not interested at all in it. I loved your kitten photos. I have one of those makeup brushes. They call it a kabooki brush tho I have no white powder in which to paint my face! That's too funny about them cancelling the boat race because they had too much water

Ok, past bedtime for this chick. This will suffice for my post tomorrow. Have a good day and happy shopping Mel!

Many moons ago I use to make my own clothes. I still do nips and tucks here and there and when I can shorten my own pants but that always depends on how they are made. Now I buy things that fit nice but not tight or maybe a bit tight so they will fit for awhile. Then, when they are to big I give them to other people. I told myself when I get to goal and stay there for a year I will spend money on clothes again like I use to. It was nothing for me to spend 350 dollars on a jacket, skirt and blouse. Why not they were going to fit for years and I always got good quality. I will do that again. I have never cared about what was in style. I like what I like and had clothes that I wore my senior year in high school ( I still have one outfit lol ) and could still wear until I put all this weight on a few years ago. I had what I liked and since I got good quality stuff they were still good 20 some years later. The doc told me I would never lose the weight. I had to be on the meads probably forever and I gave everything away. Well forever lasted until I decided that I didn't need most of the meads. I have a large chest for my size body so I don't care for most knits. I look like a chest coming to wards people because of how knits fit lol. There are some foods you never know how much to get or they just go bad before you go thru them. Cucumbers are one that comes to mind. I either have them to long and have to toss them out or don't have enough and have to keep going to the store to buy them. I grow most of the veggies we eat so that isn't something I have to buy except in the winter time. I love to go see the animals and play with them but I always want to bring them all home. We have enough pets lol. I use to keep a couple little breeds of dogs until homes could be found for them but my cat just terrorizes them so I don't do that anymore. A good clean out makes everyone feel better and gets rid of tons of stuff lol. I do a clean out the first day of every season. If I didn't use it the season before I am probably not going to use it the next year either lol.

diyana 05-05-2008 10:10 AM

Monday greetings Ladies -

I had a wonderful day working out in the yard yesterday. Cleaned out the flower garden and will be buying and planting some annuals this week. I bought 3 tomato plants and put them in the large pots I use for veggies. One of these days/years, I'll build a raised bed veggie garden, but until then container planting works just fine and keeps the dogs out

As for "red" rooms, when we bought our house, the previous owners had a red bedroom. Not even a muted maroon - a deep red. Now, some people may like that and maybe it's in style, but I knew I had to change the bedroom color to a more soothing blue. We repainted the bedroom as soon as we got the keys to the place, way before we moved in. I think red is fine for an office, or bathroom or kitchen or even family room....but I knew that for me personally, I could not sleep in a red room.

Happy - Congratulations on your quickly growing exercise bank balance! YGG!! And I thought you said you didn't like to exercise - you're obviously doing it! Good for you!! I don't always enjoy working out, but I LOVE how I feel afterward! So I keep going. At the Y that I go to, they provide you with a "coach"/trainer for FREE. He shows you equipment, helps you update your program when you need more of a challenge and I meet with him every couple months to review my accomplishments and review/revise my goals. If I want regular (weekly) sessions with him, there would be a fee, but the nice thing is he teaches a great strength training/toning class that I go to, and he's there if I have questions. I used to feel funny about giving gift cards to people, and checks to nieces and nephews. But now I realize that this way they can get something they'll really enjoy and use. I always get my step-mother a gift card to her favorite nursery so she can get plants and things for her yard. I agree that many people are either going to save their incentive checks or use it to pay down some credit cards (I will be doing the latter). Just read your next post...baby kitties?! Awwww. How adorable! It's so good of you and your DH to go give them and all the cats some love. Some sad news about a nearby Humane Society (in Waukesha). The dogs were getting a virus similar to strep throat, and they'd no sooner show the symptoms then it would kill them. The sad news is that 7 dogs passed away....and it had spread to nearly all the dogs in the shelter. At least they have figured out how to treat it and the rest of the dogs are on the mend and expected to recover. So sad about the doggies, but at least no more will die. Sad too about the horse at the derby. I'm not veterinary expert, but I personally think that's too much joint pounding for such young animals.

Rennie - I totally agree about sticking to a list when shopping. And I double check my cart too - good thing I did yesterday because I'd bought too much frozen food that I wouldn't have room for. Rennie, your shopping trip with your hubby cracked me up! I felt like I was right there! when all those people say the pants look great, take the compliment and wear the pants with confidence! YGG!! My hubby agrees that people who shouldn't wear tight low jeans and crop tops are wearing them, and the ones that should are not. My stomach is not ready for crop tops/low jeans, but I noticed yesterday while wearing shorts that my legs are looking a lot better (if I do say so myself)

Shad - The kitty photos are great. Thanks for re-posting them. I'm sure this is also true in a country as big as Oz, but here definitely different regions pronounce things differently. In Wisconsin, most people pronounce root as rhyming with foot. I pronounce root and route as rhyming with boot. Okay, a boat race on the Todd River that they had to cancel until the water in the river dried up?? That's funny! :dunno:

Mel - I hope you can get to the mall today!

Annie - Thanks for the nice compliment! I'll be happy to lead an exercise class for you and the rest of the ladies. Shad can help lead it, okay Shaddie? You should call the guy, even if just to reconnect with an old friend.

CeeJay - Wow! What a crazy weekend at your plant! I hope things get back to normal soon. Hang in there.

Madcat 05-05-2008 05:03 PM

Darlings, it seems like it was just yesterady but tonight the sweet DH and I are heading out to celebrate our second anniversary!!! I will be back to report and comment (if it doesn't take a while to recover!)

Hi to all the chicks in the meantime!

diyana 05-05-2008 05:20 PM

Happy Anniversary, Madcat!

diyana 05-05-2008 05:23 PM

Mel - It's amazing when you spend lots of time decluttering and dejunking that you don't want to buy anything else. After my major dejunking (which I'm about 60% finished with), I consider very carefully whether I want to buy stuff. Is it an impulse buy or do I actually need it and will I use it? Wish I'd done that before so I wouldn't have to dejunk now!

Shad 05-05-2008 07:06 PM

Morningall,
Beautiful morning here too Mel, bit on the cool side early on, but it is expected to get to 26C today from a start of 13C This is getting to real winter for us - that's 56F - 82F more or less. Got love winter over here. Diyana if you ever do decide to come over, you do not want to come to the tropics in the summer - that's when we have rain and humidity and thunder and all the tropic cyclones etc. Come anytime after March and go home before October end.

Madcat - happy anniversary. Hope that it is a joyful meal and a bloody good evening. Doesn't really seem like two years that we were all getting excited about the wedding does it??

Don't know whats going on here, but I went to Go Advanced and now I cant see the rest of the entries. I'll have to do the split screen thing. Darn it.
Actually I might just post this with a couple of pics and come back later. I really need to get some work done. Working from home means you have to be disciplined. It's not as easy as it looks.

Happy anniversary

Melody
Mine likes everyone to see me clothed lol no cleavage showing and so forth but then I am the same way with him. He isn't allowed to wear sweats in public ( bulges should only show at home lol and I am there when he buys jeans because I don't want them tight across his hinny lol. It does work out well since we are the same way with each other.

di
There is way to much mutton out there dressed up like lamb lol

ceejay52 05-05-2008 10:17 PM

Most of the time work is a breeze. Sometimes I want to throw in the towel.

MadCat
Happy 2nd anniversary.
