What an appalling notion! No doubt propogated by some controlling man somewhere with a dirty house.

Here's some alternatives for the more reasonable of us:

These are for a 175 lb person, in calories per hour:
  • Gardening -- 378
  • Dancing, slow -- 252
  • Tai Chi -- 336
  • Basketball, wheelchair -- 546
  • Walking, 13 min/mi. -- 420
  • Snowshoeing -- 672
  • Swimming, backstroke -- 672
  • Elliptical trainer (just for Sugar) -- 756
  • Stretching, Hatha Yoga -- 336
  • Wrestling (you fill in the type) -- 504
  • and don't forget Sitting, reading or watching TV -- 95
  • and finally, Sleeping -- 53

Now, don't you feel better already?

Do you think that watching athletes on TV uses up more calories than watching sitcoms? I hope so, I've been doing an awful lot of that lately.
