Good Monday (Blech) Morning!!!

Good Monday (Blech) :p Morning!!

Back to work for me tonight....... Yippee. DH told me some interesting news about one of the dayshift girls on my team, she is leaving, not only the co. but she is moving to NYC!! :fr: I say WTG for her!! Not sure why, if she got a job, if she is going to college, or what, but I wish her luck. Now I am worried though that our "tightwad" boss won't back fill her position and that means A LOT more work for us and we are already over-loaded as it is. Maybe I'll find out more tonight when I go in. So "Stay Tuned!!!" lol.

Well after I did so well exercising, it totally wiped me out and I didn't do much the last two nights. Didn't do any cardio or even the crazy ab lady. lol. To your question -- Mindee -- yes we have Carmen Electra. I was thinking of trying the Billy Blaine Taebo ones though, heard it is fun and is great exercise.

So nothing exciting going on here. DH brought an apt. guide home, so not sure if we will "settle" for another apt, or what. I told him though that if we do go that route, I want an UPDATED and energy efficient apt and if possible closer to work. I am not compromising either because I refuse to go to one crappy apt to another one. lol. The main concern is energy efficiency though. Our current Utility bill is over $200 for a 2 bedroom apt. Totally ridiculous if you ask me. Esp when my in-laws who have a 3 bedroom ranch HOUSE pay less than that or equilivant because all our utilities are lumped into one, water, electric, trash and sewage. That just is so ridiculous!!! And we have lived in a few apts before this one and so we know that this is not normal. We've had our apt checked out a number of times and they say its normal. The problem is that the town we live in has their own utilities and you have no choice in that matter. (Another reason to move)

Anywho, enough about our apt. woh's. lol. I think we are supposed to have a "heat wave" today and get up to 45 degrees!!! lol. I think I should break out the shorts!!! lol. I am so ready for spring. This drab weather just makes you feel drab. lol. At least it does me. lol.

Have you all ever heard of the "Evolution Diet?" I saw the last half of a show talking about it and the people on it did so well with lowering cholesterol and all, but they said the "side effects" of it can be um disruptive. Basically you need to make sure you are close to a restroom. I can see it now. Me at work talking on the phone and say, "oooo can u hold???" and running to the bathroom!!! Ok I shouldn't make fun of it but it just caught me as funny. I am sure its a very great diet and all, just definitely not for me. lol.

Also they had on there about eating raw garlic is supposed to help um how can I say this? Assist men w/ certain functions?? :o They said that the main cause is from Cholesterol build up? I have never heard of that before, esp for that "area"? Amazing what you learn. lol. Sorry don't mean to be crude or anything but I was kinda amazed on that little fact. lol. But for this to work the men have to eat 4 cloves of raw garlic a day??? Wow that is a lot of garlic!!! lol.

Anyways, enough on the Sassy Health Hr. lol. What can I say nothing else was on and I was looking at the apt. guide while it was on. lol.

Question has your taste in movies or music drastically changed as you got older? I am finding that mine is. At least movies. I used to be a huge Horror Flick buff and now I like the Romantic Comedies a lot better. DH bought me Saw IV and I really have no interest in seeing it and the last 3 I really wanted to see. Very strange. and with music I cannot hardly tolerate certain rap music anymore, nothing against it, just I cannot tolerate it anymore where as before it didn't really bother me, now if it comes on I have to change the station. I just think I'm getting old. lol. No other real explanation that I can think of. lol.

Well I guess that is enough of a "Sassy Novel" for now. lol. :write:

Take Care!!!

Mom2Gaby 02-25-2008 01:43 PM

Good Morning -

Mindee- Cute about Marissa being an *inch worm* - how sweet. Hope all the kids are feeling better and all goes well in court!

Sassy - I am glad you are finally thawing out!! It has been sounding so cold where you live! I have never heard of Evalution Diet .

Katy - At least the writer for Juno won an Oscar! Bravo on the 2 hours of gym time :)

My contacts are kind of bothering me so just a quickie - hope you all are having a good Monday.
Annoyed w/ Gaby's father but nothing new there. Busy w/ Rach and job search stuff. Taking Gab to see The Bee Movie tonight, it is through the PTA. You purchase 10 tickets for $9 and get to see 10 movie over the next 10 weeks....parents don't have to pay! Thought it was a good deal and it is at a theatre. Tonight is Bee and there is also Enchanted coming up and I wanted to see that w/ Gab. Of course she is scared of the dark but I hope seeing other kids from her school she will want to go in....argh.

k- chat later :)

FrouFrou 02-25-2008 03:20 PM

Hello beautiful ladies!

SUSAN...okay, now, don't be a spoiler! I don't want to hear anything about the book. I started First Impressions by Jude Deveraux but Kite Runner and Water For Elephants are my next two reads. Hey, I think the tickets for the movies are a great deal! Where the heck can you see that many movies for that price?

MINDEE...hope the kids are better today. Man, that crap is going around and we have all had it. Hopefully, you were able to get them in to see the doc. How did that and court go?

SASSY...I don't know :dunno: $200 a month doesn't sound so bad to me. Of course I don't know how big your place is but our gas bill is almost that alone! But it's been really cold this year so...all our utilities are seperate so but too in the summer if it's hot the electric will be almost that so I guess it is the same all year, lol. As far as the taste in movies...mine hasn't changed at all. I have been wanting to see Saw4 since Josh was home at Christmas time, lol.

KATY...thank you! And WTG on the workouts! :carrot: I missed the Oscars :o Haven't even read the paper to see who got what yet either.

HIYA JULES...hoping all is well with you and the family, especially that baby. He is adorable and I love the avatar!

HIYA SUE & FRANCIE!hoping all is well with you ladies too!

Nothing much going on with me today. Exercise, exercise & exercise! I keep saying I am only going to do a certain amount and I can't do it. Geez, it's in my blood! Guess there could be worse things, lol. I have to say though, that I am glad and I never thought I would actually learn to love exercise. Anywho...just getting some laundry done and that's about it.

Hoping everyone is having a wonderful day! Love ya's

Mom2Gaby 02-25-2008 05:02 PM

Cristina - You sound chipper! I have to be in the mood for exercise, I think the sun has to be out or something. lol

I didn't see the $200 of utilities! I think that is a lot. I pay around $170 right now (about a 1000 sq ft) for these cold months, in the summer I was at $50/60. I don't have a washer/dryer either. I am told it is because of the baseboard heaters.

Full on tenderloin and broccoli.

Yes, let hope Gaby will sit for the movie. I might sneak in an apple or a bag of nibbler pretzels, those are so good.

Gab is kind of stuttering again. She did this last year when I lived at my mothers. It is stress related, I think. Maybe going back to the 2nd school? Trying to figure it out.

k- just jabbering. Chat tomorrow!

Sassy_Chick 02-25-2008 09:56 PM

Hi Chicks.

Hi Girls.

Susan & Cristina -- Yeah I beleive it only got up to a whopping 30-something though today so what a heatwave!! lol. I think $200 is a lot considering our apt is only 800 sq. feet, if even that? When we had a townhouse our utilities was never over $100 and that was with two floors!!! I dunno, just seems high to me, if we had a house or even a townhouse, then maybe, but our tiny apt? doesn't seem right. lol. But maybe its just another "excuse" to get out of there. Although DH is still dragging his feet. I think we'll be living there until we move into an old folks home at this rate!!!

 to all.

tommysgirl18 02-26-2008 01:56 AM

hello ladies....how are you all doing?

court went great. Tommy had to pay $150 and the judge is going to check his record in 60 days and as long as he doesn't get any tickets or accidents, then he will get no points from the ticket or anything like that. we took the kids to the pediatrician's office Monday afternoon. Brandon has an ear infection in his right ear, bronchiolitis, and croup. Logan has a double ear infection, bronchiolitis, and croup. Marissa, our little cootie princess that started it all, has a double ear infection, bronchiolitis, and croup. So, they are all on antibiotics for the ear infections.......and they are on a steroid for the bronchiolitis, and also breathing treatments. We were told to give Marissa a breathing treatment for 3 minutes instead of 5, to help her break up the gunk in her chest. so, they are all on breathing treatments every four hours.

also, I got a call from the transportation department Monday afternoon. Brandon is to be ready between 8:10 and 8:15am on Thursday to go to school! (as long as he is feeling better.....other wise I will be calling in for him)

I called the pediatrician's office to see about getting them in Monday afternoon, and the receptionist says "are they sick?" I said "yes they are" to which she let out a sigh and said "hold on." She then came back on the phone and said "how about 3:30?" I said "for all three of them? that would be fine." I hung up the phone and told Tommy and my MIL, who had watched the kids while we went to court, and Tommy said "what kind of comment is that?" I said "apparently, we take the kids to the doctor's office only when they are healthy."

Sassy~ I have noticed that since having the three munchkins, I have changed my taste in music. I used to listen to all types of music before, including rap. But now I don't see a point in it since most of the songs now have every swear word in them. IF I feel the need to listen to something old school, I will wait until they go to bed and then listen to it. I have never been too into horror movies, and I still am not a big horror fan. I love any kind of movie, BUT horror.

SusieQ~ My "inch worm" is becoming a big girl! she became more adventurous with her crawling and was moving more on her hands and knees on Monday. So, it won't be too much longer before she is full fledge crawling!

Cristina~ I love your new avatar! every thing went well with court, and the kids are on the path to being healthy again. Hopefully I can get Brandon 100% healthy in time to go to school on Thursday!

suetalks 02-26-2008 12:45 PM

Quick "fly by" posting. I just wanted to say I did great yesterday, calories were good and I exercised. Just a little exercise to get started on my BBF's equipment, but it was something. AND...ta da...no between meal junk. I had fruit all ready for a snack last night in case I got hungry, but didn't need it. Now just to do this for about another 6 months. Hahaha... SO far today I had an OP breakfast...so we will see how the day goes. One day down and one day at a time.

Actually wrote this earlier and posted it elsewhere, then before I could do it here my computer took a nose dive. Still don't know what happened, but I got it to come back up.

Took Mom's dog to the groomer and will go get her shortly. Snow is coming down, but not sticking now. Kind of wet since it is above freezing out there. They had the cutest puppy for sale...I would have had her in a minute if DH would not have shot me. Part maltese and part imperial ****zu. What a beauty.

Have a good day gals and I will BBL.

FrouFrou 02-26-2008 02:29 PM

Hello ladies...

SUSAN...exercise always does that to me, well, most of the time, lol. I had just exercised and was feeling pretty good...love the natural high, lol. Sorry the Gabster is stuttering...I bet it is from stress. When DH#1 passed I did notice that I had started stuttering until someone pointed it out to me.

MINDEE...I thought the avatar was so pretty...somewhere I would love to live for sure. Sorry the kids are sick, yikes! Hope they get better soon. Guess Tommy's ticket could have been worse, still $150 is a lot.

SASSY...I guess that does seem kind of high for 800 sq. ft. is it all electric? That makes a difference somtimes. I know utilities are getting higher and higher each year...it's ridiculous! What kills me is stupid charges like charging for the gas to go thru the lines to your house...WTF? Now don't get me started on the phone bill,

SUE...sounds like you are doing great with the food and exercise...WTG! :carrot: Aww, the doggy sounded so cute! I have been wanting another dog for so long but every time I think about it I feel bad that Ernie dog won't like a playmate. One day.

HIYA FRANCIE, JULES & KATY!

Not a lot going on today...same old stuff, different day! Got part of my exercise done. Let me tell ya...the turbo jam is a killer, yikes! This is only my 3rd time doing it and I think once I get the learn and burn moves down I will be fine but ouch! I did it once when I got it and then my back went out, but not from it, I don't think. So just getting back into it starting last week. Only doing it two or three times a week...on the days I do weights, the jump rope and ride the bike, which is today and Thursday.

Going to cook a roast for dinner tonight. I've been cooking them in the crock pot, sort of like stew. Doing the oven thing tonight with mashed potatoes and baby carrots...just sounds good to me today, lol! Anyway...

Have a wonderful day chickies!

Mom2Gaby 02-26-2008 05:26 PM

Afternoon -

Just wanted to do a fast hello!

Cristina - ya, forgot about the natural high that comes w/ exercise! We are going to have to send you to rehab pretty soon, lol.

haha

How did I ever get to be so funny I do not know.

Had chicken tenderloin and broccoli again for lunch, it was so good. Drinking tons of water and hope that flushes me out and all,,,,,,,something like that.

Spending my computer time emailing McD today so am short of time!! Catch up tomorrow.

Hello to everyone!

tommysgirl18 02-26-2008 11:45 PM

hello ladies....how are you all doing?

nothing new on this end.....the kids are feeling better. Brandon and Logan are back to their normal selves! They were wrestling and every thing like they always do! They were even back to themselves enough to give Marissa a bath with orange juice! They are not coughing as much any more, they don't sound as congested as they were. So, if all goes well and Brandon is feeling 100% better on Thursday, he will be getting on that bus and going to school! I told him that he was going to be starting school and riding the bus in a couple of days and he was ready to get his back pack packed! He had pulled out some pull ups and was ready to put them in his back pack!

Mom2Gaby 02-27-2008 01:14 PM

Good Morning -

I am glad the kids are feeling better Mindee, I always feel helpless when Gaby isn't feeling good. I also found out I can't get her the states medical for 6 months because she had Kaiser through me when I worked and I am getting $300 too much a month now to get coverage...at 6 months the amount goes up almost $500 and I guess I can get it at that time - course we hope I have a job by that time. *sigh.....

Cristina - yum, your roast dinner sounds good! You always pick out great avatars.

Sue
- Sounds like you are doing really good!:bravo:

Hi to Jules, Sassy, Francie, Katy, and Michelle

I finished The Kite Runner last night, read til 2am. It was so good and kind of draining to take it all in. It left me sad. Now I have 2 shopaholic books to read because I took Katy's advice and put books on hold at the library - now everything is coming in at once - lol

Edged back up to 162 but think I will leave the ticker alone. I will change it Friday. Maybe I am just bloated?? Oh joy.

k- chat at you all later!

FrouFrou 02-27-2008 01:33 PM

Glad to know Susan, that Kite Runner is good! I've done that as well, stayed up late to finish a book. Just get so in to them I HAVE to see how it ends! I was just at the store and thought of you and Francie...saw a couple of the Shopaholic books...one day I may get to reading some. Have so many I am trying to get read right now though. I hadn't read like I normally do/did last year but kept buying books, lol. So have quite the stack to get thru.

Mindee...glad the kids are on the mend. I always hated when the kids were sick too, just seeing them feel so bad was horrible.

Hello to everyone else

Nothing going on today. Had a couple of errands to run this morning, did most of my exercise...just have 30 minutes to do after Jeopardy this afternoon, picked up dog poo, lol and now I need to get some laundry done. It is a gorgeous day out...hate staying inside but it's still not so warm that I want to go walk the neighborhood. Can't wait for spring!

Have a great day!

Mom2Gaby 02-27-2008 02:24 PM

Cristina -

What is the weather there? It looks like mid 50"s here today, it is finally feeling like Spring!! It is also nice not have to have the heaters on at night.

KRunner was good, just a lot to take in, I think I am going to need a Shopaholic book to balance me out now - they are fun to read and I will probably stay up again to read tonight! I like to just get the book read especially if it is really good and night time is peaceful with everyone sleeping. blah - blah

Suppose to be *job searching* can ya tell?? lol

k- back to the grind - just wanted to say hi to you!!

tommysgirl18 02-27-2008 05:40 PM

hello ladies....how are you all doing?

nothing new on this end....just dealing with two boys that are driving me batty!! can you tell that they are feeling better? now Tommy seems to have come down with what they have.....so as I type this, he is sleeping on the couch, my little cootie cutie was sleeping until Brandon woke her up, but she is good for going back to sleep. So, I have the Bashem brothers driving me batty right now! good thing for no naps.....it means they go to bed early! so, as far as things are going now, Brandon will be getting on the bus in the morning. I will make sure that he has his medicines and his breathing treatment before he gets on the bus! (so, if I don't make it back on here tonight....which I probably won't because I am going to be going to bed early so that we can get started on this new schedule. long story short.....if I don't make it back on tonight, I will be on tomorrow)

jules1216 02-27-2008 07:35 PM

Hi all--I will start indys next time!!

Ry is still moving to Portland not sure if it's April or August yet...both Adam and his girlfriend want him to come. She is going out for school and her Dad is going to set them up in an off campus apartment and then the boys will work and cover expenses. Her Dad is happy the boys will be there for two reasons--to help with the bills and to keep his baby girl safe. Now the two in Eugene want him to come live with them again...they are nuts!! I am much happier with him going with Adam.

Teri and Nick are doing well. They are coming over on the weekends and staying. Me and Grandpa are loving it. Dave is still in jail due to the violation of probation and is facing up to a year. His friends have made major slips and Teri is finding out all kinds of lies. He has come clean and suppossedly told her everything at this point and wants her to wait for him and has promised all kinds of things. Am I being mean in wanting her to move on. It's easy to change when you are in a controlled enviroment--I just don't see it sticking when he gets back into the "real world".

Hubby has been alternating between driving me insane and making me remember why I do love him. The baby is mellowing him.

I can't wait for spring!!

Mom2Gaby 02-28-2008 12:47 PM

Good Morning -

Mindee - I guess the good thing is the tikes are feeling better. You can kind of gage that on how batty they drive you :) ......lol Hopefully w/ Spring around the corner they will be getting outside more and taking care of some of that energy!!

Jules - Exciting about Ry moveing to Portland! I am sure he will love it, especially since he is coming when the weather is decent. I don't think it is mean for wanting Teri to move on, promises made behind bars doesn't seem to have much weight. She deserves to be happy, if she is meant to be w/ him time will tell.

I feel like Dr Phil.

Crossing fingers I maintain at 161 tomorrow if not 160, we'll see. I knew it was kind of freaky how fast it was going down after being at 171 for months. I will be happy where I am at and keep plugging along. I soooo want 159 though.....I will be thrilled to be that weight again.

Had oatmeal and a banana w/ Gaby for breakfast. I am trying to get in at least 80 oz's of water a day, I only made 60 yesterday.

k- I guess that is it!! Chat at you all later :)

FrouFrou 02-28-2008 01:36 PM

Hiya girlies

SUSAN...the weather yesterday was nice. Today it is supposed to be a little warmer, 55 I think, but right now it is a little chilly still. Ah, I am sure you will have maintained or lost that pound to 160! You are so close to being in the 150's, woohoo! :carrot:

JULES...good seeing you posting lady! And nice to hear the updates on the family. Glad you get the weekends with Teri and the baby, bet he is growing like a weed! Hope Ry likes Oregon.

MINDEE...glad the kids are feeling lots better! Let us know how Brandons first bus ride, and first day of school went.

Hello KATY, SUE, SASSY & FRANCIE! Hoping all is well with you ladies.

I am dragging for some reason...may be I stayed up until a little after one trying to finish that book and then was up at 7, ugh. For some reason though I have done fine before on that much sleep but I am sooo sleepy right now. I did get in my turbo jam this morning before heading to wally world to get groceries. Getting ready to get off my arse and do the weights & such...that will wake me up.

I started another book last night...Naughty Neighbor by Janet Evanovich...I need something not so serious sometimes. And while the book I finished last night wasn't, it just didn't hit the spot. Thinking I need a murder mystery before starting Kite Runner or Water for Elephants. We'll see. Anywho...need to get a load of laundry started as well so...didn't get it done yesterday because when I got off the computer and went upstairs for Jeopardy the electricity had gone out, ugh! Was out for almost 3 hours and once I heard sirens right after it happened I figured it was a wreck. About a mile around the corner, on the main street somehow a car plowed into the electrical line and box.

Have a great day!

Mom2Gaby 02-28-2008 02:28 PM

Cristina - I was surprised to see it was 60 here yesterday, I am w/ Jules. I so can not wait til Spring time!
Is Water for Elephants a good book? I think I will put a hold on it at the library. I have 3 Shopaholic (meaning by the same author, I don't think they are all shop books.) that I have now, reading Shop & Sister and feeling guilty that it has no more meaning but a fun thing to read. lol
I managed to stay up til mid night reading, almost made it thru 1/2 way!

anyway - hope you catch up on your rest !! :) Hugs to you.

RosieKate 02-28-2008 03:08 PM

Hola!

OK - big surprise here, but I've also read Water for Elephants and I liked it, too. Not nearly as intense as Kite Runner, but not light-hearted either. Very good. I haven't read the shopaholic books, but may put them on hold as I need some lighter fare. I am slogging through a Short History of Nearly Everything. It's pretty good, but I in no way have time to finish before book group next week. Yikes!

Good news - I went to pilates today and my back is feeling so much better. My tummy muscles feel firmer also - yay! I am still at 178, where I've pretty much been since Christmas...TOM is happening, so maybe after that blows through I'll be able to lose few.

Jules - sorry to hear about Dave and his troubles. Teri is fortunate to have such a good support system while she figures all this out and adjusts to motherhood. I love seeing pictures of Nick - he is cute!

Susan- gl on the job hunt, and wtg on the weight loss! Isn't this weather great?

Mindee - glad the kids are feeling better - how did school go today?

Cristina - glad your power's back on...what a bummer.

Sassy - we have a 1500 sq ft house and utilities run about 200 for gas and electric. Parts of the house are as well insulated, so if we can get that done at some point, our consumption will go down. Our electricity rates have gone up and are going to increase yet again...it's such a racket. I'm glad we have natural gas heat, or our bills would really be through the roof.

Sue -wtg on staying OP! I've been keeping my calories under control but I have to admit I have indulged in the thin mints over the last two days. Well, it's that time of the month what can I say.....

I am going to finish up my test knit project this afternoon. Then it's early dinner and off to swimming. I'll be there tonight, Susan, so maybe I'll see you there....

tommysgirl18 02-29-2008 12:47 AM

well, we managed to make it through the first day of school without any problems! I took him out to the bus and got him on it, and he didn't even cry! he just smiled and stuck his thumb in his mouth! I stepped off the bus and walked towards the apartment. I turned around to wave at him as the bus took off, and he was too busy staring out the other side of the bus!

He got out of school at 11:36 and a little bit before noon, the phone rang and it was his teacher. She called to let us know that he did great! he was nothing but smiles when he got off the bus until the time he got on the bus. She said that he was very good and did amazingly well! He got off the bus at 12:10 or so, and he was nothing but smiles! Tommy took some pictures of me getting him on the bus and getting him off the bus. He had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back!

this is working out great! he was already more talkative when he got home from school. he even had some projects in his back pack that they did! and he was so excited that he got to put them on the fridge! he even got to pick out dinner for his first day of school. He picked out smoked sausage, pork and beans, and angel hair pasta. (he loves his pork and beans....so Tommy had to make two cans!) I even made him some cookies for his first day of school.

Poor thing came home from school, had a little bit of a stomboli that I had made for us for lunch and fell asleep. He woke himself up when he went into a coughing spell on the couch. but he was so exhausted that he fell asleep at 8:15.....so we are off to do it again on Friday. we will be working more with him on his schedule and getting us all into it! Tuesday will be a little bit crazy because at some point we will have to go grocery shopping.

(I put the pictures up on my myspace) I will try and get a chance to post them on here somewhere. I did some major cleaning while Brandon was in school on Thursday. I got plenty of clothes for the boys, Marissa and some other sizes to give to my mom. I hadn't had a chance to go through them yet, and figured then was as good a time as ever. I will finish going through them when he is in school on Friday. Logan is bored now that Brandon is in school.....he will play with Marissa, but then when she lays down to take a nap he is up my butt......or by daddy.

Sassy_Chick 02-29-2008 03:14 AM

Hola Girls.

Well this week has gone FAST for me anyways. Of course my week is only 3 nights, but that is 3 long nights. lol. I was soooooooo sleepy yesterday morning I think I fell straight asleep as soon my head hit the pillow!!! Then DH & I didn't get up until 7:30!!! :faint: Ah well it is our night off.........

Well I wish you all well in whatever you are doing today and this weekend. I want to get serious about some cleaning chicks. My DH's "Office" has turned into a "Storage" and it is awful!! I HATE having a room that we cannot use!!! But I am tired of looking at that mess in DH's office so I want to tackle it or at least begin to tackle it!!! lol. Wish me luck and if you don't hear from me in a few days, send someone, would ya???

FrouFrou 02-29-2008 12:24 PM

Hello ladies...

Dragging again today! So stinking sleepy for some reason. Maybe I have finally hit the breaking point with the exercise and my body says "NO MORE, PLEASE!"...naw, lol! Although I will be taking it easy today, unless I wake up.

SUSAN...I've not read Water For Elephants yet...it's next I think, that or Kite Runner, of the two...but those two are definitely my next two on the list to read. But our Ms Katy and others have said it is. And yes, good luck with the job hunting! Keeping my fingers crossed that you find the perfect job! :crossed: :lucky:

KATY...I've heard of that book, A Short History of Nearly Everything...not sure what it is about now though, lol. WTG on the tummy muscles feeling firmer! I hate mine and can only hope it firms up. Hey, 178 is good and at least you are not gaining...that is always good.

MINDEE...I saw the picture on myspace, so cute! Sounds like he was really excited about school. Glad you got some things doena round the house.

SASSY...hey, once you get that done come on over here...I have a room you can work on! I have so much to do in the family room, what a mess! And I guess I need to pack up Josh's stuff for him. Not sure what he will take when he leaves but it's all going somewhere! Don't over do it missy, and take breaks!

HIYA JULES & SUE & FRANCIE!

Okay, so another boring day for me. Not sure what I will be doing today other than some exercise. House is clean and laundry is done so...

Have a good one ladies! Ciao

Good Morning

TGIF and all that jazz!! We survived, yay!

Mindee- Over to myspace as soon as I finish here to see little Brandon! Sounds like he did super on his 1st day of school and mommy too! :) I am glad.

Cristina - Katy will have to tell us what A short History is about. I looked it up yesterday and it just said *science* so I passed. lol I did put Water for Elephants on hold and I am still waiting for My Sisters Keeper. I have a really hard time w/ sleeping, I look horrid, tired and worn out.....you think I would be rested being off work since July. ha.

Sassy - wow, great on the cleaning!! I just move my piles from one place to another and call it good. lol Seriously.....I need to get motivated too and do some spring cleaning. :)

Katy - It was nice seeing you last night!! Very sweet for you to search me out and come and chat for a bit. I bring a book to avoid talking w/ Mike. Last week he kept asking me what the book was about and how I could read in the pool area. I wanted to hiss "if you would be quite I could read!!" haha. Anyway - Gab is going to do another Seal session , which is fine. I like the teacher she has now , wondering how much she learned w./ the 2 sessions she had w/ her last teacher. *itch *itch....lol

oh, ya....TOM is over! I am just in a bad mood. Annoyed w/ Miss Becky. I had to run down 2 miles and get her this morning for school because her father had a medical appt.
Gab and I go in and Gab wants to watch Rugrats. Of course Beck has to leave for school and is snippy...."you should have gotten here earlier and she could have watched tv".. Whatever little brat it is 7:45 in the morning! Gab was all ready for school and we rushed since we woke up at 7:00.
I thought I was doing pretty good. Of course I can't get a word in edgewise and she is saying horrible things .....like ..."are you off your meds again??" ,,,,omg- wtf. I wanted to slap her ... She doesn't back down or anything. She treats her father the same way like "you need to go to an old folks home now"....anyway - that set me in a bad mood.

Gab and I went to Starbucks and I centered myself. :cofdate: I had a coffee and bagel and she had a cream cheese container, that is all she wanted, she eats it off a spoon. What a good mommy I am , huh?? lol

Ok, weight wise,,,,,,,since this is a weight site *eyes roll*....I weighed and was 161!! I wish it was 160 or 159 .....but since it had gone back up to 162 I won't whine too much. I don't know what else I can do to lose besides *gasp* exercise:exercise: . I know I have to do that ..........I just want it warmer outside.....I don't want to be cold. lol

k- off I go............hi to everyone!!

RosieKate 02-29-2008 02:52 PM

Susan - A Short History of Nearly Everything is about just what the title says it is ....only its not short! haha...well, for the amount of content, I guess it is. Right now I'm reading about the person who invented lead and just how much of it got into our atmosphere (and our bodies) via leaded gasoline and paint before the gubmint wised up and ixnayed it. Lead levels in people's blood streams went down 80% after leaded gasoline was banned...very interesting stuff. It's just a looooong book, and just not what I'm in the mood for now...I want a Sophie Kinsella book! Our next book group book is The Language of Baklava by Diana Abu-Jaber and it looks really good....I'll let you know how that one goes.

Cristina - thx about the abs...I went to a cardio class today and I could definitely tell a difference...my back was not hurting nearly as much and the ab workout was much easier. I am definitely going to be keeping pilates in the mix for awhile.

Sassy - We'll call out the troops for you if we don't hear from you for a couple of days, lol! You will feel so good once that room is cleaned up...that's how I feel I after I take on big project like that. We are not big spenders, so I don't know how we manage to let so much junk accumulate, but it does.

Mindee - Yay Brandon! What a big boy...I'm heading over to myspace to check out the pictures next.

Hi to everyone else! Today is another busy one...We are off to basketball class soon, then to the school to play on the playground until chess club is over. Then DS has fencing tonight. Tomorrow is an all-day chess tournament, so I will post later this weekend. Have a good one, Ladies

tommysgirl18 02-29-2008 05:33 PM

hello ladies....how are you all doing?

nothing new on this end.....I managed to get through all the boxes of stuff that had been sitting on the porch. I have the things that we are keeping all put away. I have a lot of stuff for my mom, for either her friend's little boy or my sister Robyn's goddaughter due in July. Which is awesome! I even have a car seat and a smaller bag of stuff to go to a friend on Sunday. We are going to go visit my mom tomorrow to take her the stuff. Tommy got a call today from the temp agency and they have a job for him starting Monday. The hours are 4am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, and Saturday if needed. So, that will help out!

The kids are doing a lot better. They are finishing their prelone today, the steroid for their lungs. Marissa will finish her amoxicilan on Sunday and the boys will finish theirs on Wednesday. Other then that they are doing well. Logan was a pita today......even after Brandon got home from school! He didn't take a nap at all.....which is a major issue when he acts up!

jules1216 03-01-2008 09:54 AM

One of my coworkers is in a book club and she lets me read hers when she's done. My faves were "The Kire Runner", "Memoirs of a Geisha" and there was another set in England during the black plague that was actually very good though I don't remember the title. I finished reading a James Patterson and started on another but I can't get into it. I had to stop by the library to get some tax forms and a Julie Garwood Book was calling my name. Yes, I still love a little bit of mindless romantic fluff now and then.

Teri has been staying Thursday nights until Sunday nights. Both of them are crashed out. She says Ry helps alot more than she thought that he would but she likes coming home and getting taken care of and actually getting sound sleep since she knows Jerry and I are here to take care of the baby.
The boy has grandpa wrapped!!

I rearranged Teri's old room yesterday while the bab napped and threw some stuff out. We are going to paint and put in some new carpet and either add a crib for the baby or get a daybed with a pull out trundle that makes it a double bed for them both to sleep on. Going to work on Ry's old room and get rid of more stuff--his room has become a junky storage room I hate to say.

Mindee-Teri's friend Jaime is pregnant and had some problems with some spotting which she had to go to the emergency room--turns out they heard TWO heartbeats. Teri is saving her baby stuff for her. Our friends sister is having twins too. The pics on myspace are so cute!! Brandon looks like he enjoyed it. Logan will be wanting to go like his big brother.

Katy--I don't know when you find the time to read with knitting and going to the gym and taking the kids for all their activities--you are one busy woman!! My son and some of his friends play chess--several of them have really nice sets. I always liked it--neither hubby and daughter got into it. I used to play my Dad alot.

SuzyQ--why do teens have to be so bratty!! Ry is so excited. I think he needs the move. He wants a change--he said moving to Hagerstown and getting out of his comfort zone was the start but he wants more. Teri and I think it's about moving away from Alicia--they hae a very dysfunctional relationship at this point--they are broke up but it isn't a clean break. They have been doing this for over 5 years and as much as I love Alicia, it just isn't healthy anymore. And I would much rather get advice from you than Dr Phil. I just don't care for him.

Cristina--I am going to have to check out the Water for Elephants book everyone keeps talking about. I like thought provoking books but I love a good murder mystery. Books are my escape and a way to have my brain unwind and destress so I do tend to pick more fast and easy reads. There are days that after having to answer everyones questions all day I don't feel like thinking at all except Jeopardy--hubby and I watch it together.

Sassy--we must be on the same track--I finished organizing Teri's old room and next will be Ry's old room which you can barely walk through due to all the boxes. I will finish that today and tomorrow.

Well hubby wants me to run to the post office to see if his part came!!

FrouFrou 03-01-2008 01:14 PM

Hiya ladies...

JULES...I will be working on Josh's room. I asked him what he wanted done with his stuff and he said he would worry about it when he gets home. Ummm, I don't think so, lol. If you are getting married and out of the house you are taking your stuff with you, lol. Does that sound mean? Half of it is stuff he doesn't want, he just doesn't want to deal with sorting thru it. Glad Teri is enjoying being pampered. Hey, I too like a good murder mystery!

SUSAN...it's not just teenagers. I'm having my own little drama with Miss Drama queen herself. They are not even married yet and she's already started, ugh! I am going to run away! Wanna go with me? I'll have to bring DD and you can bring Gaby. If only. Hugs missy, don't know why kids have to be mean.

SASSY...enjoy your weekend!

KATY...sometimes I find science interesting...I definitely need to be in the right frame of mind though to read it.

MINDEE...I forgot to go look at the pictures...I saw the one you are using but didn't see the rest. Will head over there in a few minutes even though I was trying to stay away, lol.

Hiya SUE & FRANCIE!

Nothing much going on today. Going to watch Superbad later...supposed to be really funny. Have laundry to get done and some reading. V is working today, but then that's not new...he is always working. The stupid thing is the company just announced that the overtime will start again in March. What? Lol...that company is so messed up. One week they say NO overtime at all. Then they say we will move a plane every 4 days, lol! Then they realize ain't no planes moving in 4 days without overtime. Then they say no overtime...then by June they realize they are not going to get the 300+ planes sold and out the door by Jan 1 and so we gotta get working, lol! This has been going on for 8 years now, no I think V has been there about 12. So messed up. Okay, so starting to babble...take care ladies.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mom2Gaby 03-01-2008 03:16 PM

Sassy_Chick 03-01-2008 08:08 PM

Hey Gang!!!

Hey Gang.

Well my big plans of cleaning out DH's office went out the window. lol. He is sick and has been home yesterday AND now today. So I am just putting it off until next weekend.........:p

So as you can suspect, not much has got accomplished AT ALL! lol. But oh well he dealt with me being home with my back out, so I guess I have to deal with him being home sick. lol.

Wow my mom just told me she asked her dr for the anti-smoking drug. I told her to be careful with it though because I've heard bad side effects from it. She said she hasn't gotten it yet and its expensive. (she has no insurance) I said that Wellbutrin does the same thing and has a generic. Our dr has given that to my DH before and it does work, if you stay on it long enough, dh did not. I take Wellbutrin for depression and have for a while and I've had absolutely no problems with it, I'd rather her take that than the other stuff. My mom has been smoking a long time, so this is HUGE!!! :D

She also said that if she flunks her CNA skills test that she has to take in front of the state, she gets out of the $1200 "contract" her work made her sign and she will then move up here. So I told her, "I hope you flunk!!!" lol.

Big

Mom2Gaby 03-02-2008 03:56 PM

Good Afternoon -

Sassy - I will wish your mother to flunk too :) I guess it is one way to get out of the contract!! lol

Made it to 159! I weighed last night, and it was even close to 158, yippeee.

Didn't weigh this morning because I ate late. Had a wonderful dinner w/ McDreamy along with his cheesebread.

I have just been really thirsty so am going to make sure I drink a lot of water this week. Need to go to the store and get some more slim fast, chicken, veggies, and cottage cheese, apples, veggies.....what else?? Oh shampoo, but I don't eat that - haha.....so funny.

Get Gab back at 2pm!! So better run, chat tomorrow!

Sassy_Chick 03-02-2008 06:30 PM

Holy Spring Weather Batman!!! lol

Wow-we!!! It is 59 degrees here!!! :sunny: Does that mean I can officially get out my shorts??? :D lol. I know, don't hold my breath, right? lol.

Too darn bad I can't go anywhere or do anything because of sicky, oops DH. lol. He called off tonight too. He goes to the dr on Tuesday.

Susan -- Yeah who would have though that she could get out of a contract by just flunking? :woohoo: on the 159!!! Wow I can only dream of that #! lol. But I'll see it, no worries, just may take me a month or two longer! Well at least I am keeping my "sense of humor" lol. Ya know I think after I drink this last pop, and yes I said the "P" word, that is gonna be it, no more pop. I know I will have headaches from you know where, but I gotta do it. I am basically drinking away calories!!! Plus the fact that all the crapola in it is not good me!!! It is just so darn addicting!!! I also need to go to the grocery and get some "good" snack foods.

Hi Everybody!!! I hope your all doing well!!!

Lastnight we was watching My First house and they were in Hawaii!!! Holy Moly are houses expensive there!!! This couple wanted to stay below $400,000. The house they got wasn't much, lemme tell ya. Here a $400,000 house would be a mansion!!! There its only a "shack" lol. I guess that is the price of living in "paradise" eh? lol. Well I hope you all are enjoyin the warm weather -- if you got it and if you don't -- no worries, it will come soon!!! :)

Big

tommysgirl18 03-02-2008 11:06 PM

hello ladies....how are you all doing?

nothing new on this end.......just enjoying some quiet me time before heading off to take a shower and head to bed! Tommy starts his new job in the morning, and so that is an awesome thing! Brandon has school, and Logan and Marissa will be here with me.

We went to Old Country Buffet for dinner on Sunday night......NEVER again will we do that! Logan was a major pain in the rear end! I didn't get a chance to really sit and enjoy my food.....BUT that is kind of a God send since I didn't have to sit there and keep piling my plate over and over again! Plus, I had to keep getting up to get different things! Logan now has the nickname Roid....short for hemorrhoid. Since he is always under my feet now that Brandon is in school!

We now no longer have to keep hearing the words "awww....you have three cute boys!" from strangers when we are out! We got Marissa's ears pierced while we were up north visiting my parents. She looks really cute with them in her ears! I will have to take a picture of her when I get a chance. She hates that I have to turn them but she is doing better! She still tries to play the sympathy card and says "owwww" every now and then.

Jules~ I saw the new pictures of Nick! He is getting so big!!!! I was going through a box of stuff for Brandon and Logan, and found this cute shirt that says "my fingers may be small, but I've got Grandpa wrapped around them." Funny you should mention about Logan wanting to go. On Brandon's first day of school, Logan happened to be awake. So, he came out into the living room while we got Brandon all together. When I came back in from putting Brandon on the bus, Logan was trying to hand me his coat to put on him so that he could go on the bus. We know so many people that are pregnant these days.......and it seems like they are having girls! That is very exciting about all the twins!

Cristina~ Yup, I actually added some other ones to that folder as well! Every body makes fun of me because I take so many pictures......but I don't want to miss anything!

SusieQ~ They are feeling much better!! Brandon still has a little bit of a cough, but thankfully they are all doing much better!!!

Sassy~ I will wish that your mom flunks as well! Good luck with her quitting smoking too! My parents were trying that when I was 16 or so......my mom started back smoking when she found out some details....and she hasn't really slowed down since!

I gotta make this short.....I have to still get in the shower and head to bed. and some time during the day tomorrow, I have to make a grocery list/dinner planning for us for the month.

FrouFrou 03-03-2008 12:12 PM

STOP!

DO NOT POST HERE! Head on over to BIK#38!

See ya there
