I haven't watched the olympics

but I agree the Canadians are best because they have lots of ice and nothing else todo anyway.

sugar, here's how she spelled quesadilla. quasslilla. and fajita was fahetah. I bet she can figure skate though.

Kiwi, we will be there at the end of July like you. What's there to do in the area? I planned for us to go on Thurs and come back on Sun. Should we go Wednesday? I assume you're grilling steaks for us. We pick DS up on Saturday so you'll need an extra one if that's the night.

Sugar, that's EXACTLY where ds found the quote. Yesterday, every single eighth grader in Florida took a writing test. There were given one of two prompts. DS's was 'everybody has a favorite character from a book, movie or tv show. Who is yours and why?' His was Zifnab. Who would yours be? I thought and thought about that. It has to be somebody you can write a decent paper about. Mine would be Fonzie. I could talk a lot about Fonzie.

The other prompt was 'should teenagers be allowed to work? Why or why not?' The boy lucked out.

Out of the loop

I missed the big skating controversy. I only saw the very end of the Canadian pair, who won the gold? I don't have patience to sit through the commercials so I've missed alot while channel surfing.

My fil is not Canadian and he mispronounces things constantly. He says his grandchildren are ball barians. :dizzy:

Muffie, we have a grocery store here where the checker always tells me how much I saved, not how much I spent. They are the highest priced store in town. So explain to me again how you saved money by spending $63????;)

I have so little going on in my life right now, I'm feeling stressed out due to lack of stress.

It took me so long to get here,

that I can't remember what I was going to say.

DD has been downloading music constantly and it takes approximately forever to get into anything else. Let's see, I did want to point out that I never lost a green shoe. I'm pretty sure I never owned a green shoe, but I'm sure I never lost one. I don't even remember what that was all about.

Really, Wabbit, don't say that around my DH--that you flip through the channels constantly. I complain about it so much, he has pretty much given up to avoid the abuse. :s: I read during commercials.

Here's what disturbs me about Peaches' DS's writing thing: how do you get him to tell you anything????????? DD will just not talk to me about school. She's affronted when I ask. "What are you doing in Math?" "Algebra" "Well, I know that, what kind?" "Just plain algebra" "What kind of problems?" "MOM, I don't want to talk about it!"

She's right here, let me ask her what her topics were in her writing test. She says one was "What makes a good friend?" (which was intensely stupid) and she can't remember the other one (see?). Well, after all it was a few weeks ago....

Gotta go think about dinner.

the only reason

he told me about the test was that he was soooo delighted to have had a opportunity to write about Zifnab. Otherwise, it's "fine" "nothing" or a shrug of shoulders.

"What are you studying in math?"

"I dunno."

"You were on linear equations. What now?"

"How'd you know I studied linear equations?"

"I went to school with you on Take Your Parents to School Day and sat in math class with you."

"Oh."

"So what are you studying now."

"I forget."

Thank You

I feel much better.

taking a poll

I have gone through about 40 bags of those little necco sweetheart candies. All the ones that say Marry Me are now in one bag which Herbie will get.

Will he:

Read them?

Gobble them down unread?

Read secretly and gobble quickly?

Well, he won't propose so i can't think of any other options.

SugP 02-14-2002 03:59 PM

Oh, how sweeeeeeeet!

I got dh a bottle of wine for Valentine's Day 'cause we're already married. I got a little tiny rose bush. Much better than the cactus last year - or was that Mother's Day?

I'm sure sure sure Herbie will get the message Peachy. Or maybe not - you know how men are. How clever of you to propose with food!:s:

Was up all night with ds 5. Barf attack. Why do they always miss the bowl. He's better now, I think.

Kiwonk 02-14-2002 04:14 PM

Awwwww

That's adorable! My prediction is that he won't notice.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, COWBABES!

By the way, I made my sweeties heart-shaped no-bake cookies.

Clever cow

How sweet, Peaches. He'll have to get the message now.

DH gave me a huge bouquet of flowers. They're just beeee-uuuu-tiful. I gave him chocolate covered macadamia nuts and I made him a delicious dinner. Pork loin marinated in marsala wine, crusted w/ rosemary, garlic & pepper, rice pilaf, bleu cheese, walnut & romaine salad & tunnel of fudge cake for dessert. He's a lucky man.

I've really got to work today. See yas.

Have a good weekend

I'm going to veg out in front of the TV watching the Olympics.

Did anyone see Matt and Katie snowshoeing this morning on the Today Show? I have snowshoes like that. Not that I've been out on them lately. I don't use poles. Poles are for babies. :smoking:

DD has one of her friends over this afternoon, and we're all squeezed into the computer room. They are making funny noises over a music fan website.
