RENNIE~ WE HAVE SOME OF THOSE NASTY ONES HERE TOO! LOL THEY SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF ME :yikes:
FOR THOSE PRESSED FOR TIME, JUST IGNORE MY POSTS THIS WEEK. SEEMS LIKE I AM ON A ROLL ABOUT THIS AND THAT.  :cofdate: GOOD MORNING CHICKS BOTH NEAR AND FAR!! AND A COLD AND BLUSTERY MORNING IT IS ON THE EAST COAST TOO! I HAVE ALREADY FINISHED EVERY ORDER THAT WAS GIVEN ME LAST NIGHT, THE PHONES ARE COVERED, AND I AM DONE FOR THE DAY. ALL BEFORE 10 AM TOO! I EVEN TOOK CARE OF A PET PEEVE OF MINE: IN OUR BUILDING OF 100 WE RECEIVED MAIL ASKING FOR DONATIONS FOR THE VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE SQUAD. WHEN I WENT FOR MY MAIL, THE WASTEPAPER BASKET WAS FILLED TO OVERFLOWING WITH THESE UNOPENED REQUESTS. IT'S NOT THE FIRST YEAR I NOTICED IT BUT IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I WAS TRULY SADDENED BY THE SIGHT. THIS WAS CERTAINLY NOT GOING TO BE ONE OF THOSE "ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE" KIND OF TIMES. IN A BLDG OF 100 SENIOR AND DISABLED PERSONS, WHO USE THE AMBULANCE LIKE A PERSONAL FREE TAXI SERVICE, NO ONE WAS SENDING A DIME. HOW SAD IS THAT! SO LAST NIGHT I MADE A CANNISTER AND LABELED IT WITH CUTOUTS FROM THE LETTER THAT I RECEIVED. I PUT OUR DONATION INTO IT AND ALSO EMPTIED MY COIN BANK AS WELL. BEGINNING TOMORROW I AM PUTTING THE CANNISTER IN THE LUNCHROOM EVERY MORNING UNTIL SOMETIME IN JANUARY WHEN I WILL SEND IT, UNOPENED, OVER TO THE SQUAD. HOPEFULLY THERE WILL BE SOME BIG BUCKS TO GIVE THEM. I WILL THINK GOOD THOUGHTS TILL THEN! EVER THE OPTIMIST AM I. HEALTHWISE, I AM FEELING MUCH IM PROVED. I THINK THE TIDAL WAVE HAS BEEN REDUCED TO A ROLLING SURF OF SORTS. SO ALL IS WELL IN MY CORNER OF THE WORLD. SORRY IF I AM NOT MAKING A LOT OF SENSE AND HOPEFULLY NOT BRINGING ANYONE "DOWN: CAUSE I AM STILL LAUGHING MYSELF OVER HERE :lol3: HAPPY WEDNESDAY :moped: |
For women only:
"Okay, Okay, it all makes sense now... I never looked at it this way before: MEN tal illness MEN strual cramps MEN tal breakdown MEN opause GUYnecologist AND ... When we have REAL trouble, it's a HISterectomy. Ever notice how all of women's problems start with MEN? " |
Melody
Glad you are feeling better. I have never really understood people. They will go to star bucks and spend a ton on a cup of coffee and yet they are to cheap to give a few bucks to help people. |
Mel
Never looked at "men" that way before. That is cute. May send this one to my sister. Sometimes things open our eyes so to speak and when its does makes us feel better mentally and physically. Enjoy the day and season. Holly Thanks for the pictures. Look at all the snow! I don't think the south could handle that much of it. Shad, Carla, Madcat, Reenie, and Happy  have a good day. Still nothing new to report. |
Morning all,
Got woken up this morning by the alarm and climbed out of bed rubbing my eyes and yawning. Ready to do the daily exercise NOT. It was very cool so I hopped back into bed for 5 minutes and woke up nearly 2 hours later. No exercise, no breakfast, no nothing this morning. So here I am facing another dreary day. I wonder who will lose their cool today in this place. Seems to be happening at least once a day. Mel - seems that you having having a strange period in your life. It may help you to adapt to what is to be the rest of your life. I hope we get to see some pictures of the windows this year. Jen's spring windows were pretty when I was there. I hope you get some peace out of the revelations of your mind! Morning Rennie and Ceejay. Hope you both have a fun day. I'd better go and sort the masses. The phone is ringing, the email is running rampant and I just want to go home!!!! |
Shad
You needed that extra sleep. The holiday crunch is upon us. That may be the reason for people loosing their cool. They want to be home. |
Shad
I had a wonderful day. Even ordered pizza and enjoyed it with the kids. Cee Hope you are haveing a wondeful day. Very beautiful here with the snow finaly on the ground. |
Good morning ladies,
I have an early morning doctor's appt and I was working until 1:30 this morning so I am running on a little more than 4 hours sleep today and I forgot to put my hand brace on so my wrist is killing me - I woke up with it bent in a not good away against my face - guess I was trying to push my face off again  It's going to be another horridly busy day today and tomorrow so I might not be able to catch up with you until the weekend. Shad - that is so unlike you to sleep, it can only mean that you really needed it. Sounds like the end of this assignment can't come soon enough. Some things are worth walking away from - but not until your contract is over of course  - take care of yourself and leave the miracle bag at home. Mel  we need to talk this weekend. Email me when's a good time to chat on Saturday. If you can, let's see pics of the windows - Jen does such a pretty job - so festive. My sister said they were expecting a dumping of snow in Chicago and I guess they got it overnight. We have fingers crossed that it won't be bad at Christmastime. Would bum me out immensely not to go home for Christmas and I know we've been very lucky weatherwise these last 3 years so I'm hoping to keep the streak. The snow pics are pretty - as long as you don't have to drive or go out in it. Gotta run now. Hugs to the chicks... |
SHAD~ YOU MUST REALLY HAVE NEEDED IT. THE BRAIN SAID "WTF I NEED TO BE COMATOSE FOR A FEW MORE HOURS SHE'S WORKING ME TOO HARD!!!" :faint:
REST IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL  DON'T MAKE ME SEND LINDAT AND HER PROD ALL THE WAY OVER THERE TO GIVE YOUR BUTT A ZAP!!! :wizard: ALTHOUGH SHE PROABABLY WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SOME TIME OFF AND A GRAND HOLIDAY! :hohoho: CEEJAY~ LOVE THE AVATAR!!! HOW CUTE IS THAT??? IS IT PARAGOULD THIS CHRISTMAS?? TO RENNIE! SNOW AND PIZZA! MY FAVORITE COMBO :cb: HAPPY~ SATURDAY ANYTIME IS GOOD. BUT NIGHTS CAN BE A REAL PAIN AFTER 7. ON WEEKENDS, THAT'S WHEN THE ALARMS USUALLY BEGIN AND THE ACCOUNTANTS NEEDS LETTING OUT AND PHOTOCOPYING ETC AND I HAVE TO LOCK UP. THEY'RE PREPARING FOR YEAR'S END STUFF AND REPORTS OF MANY COLORS  SO LET ME KNOW. HOPE YOUR HAND FEELS BETTER AND GOOD LUCK AT THE DOCTOR. I AM MEETING MY FRIEND IN THE OFFICE AND WE ARE GOING TO GET HELP TO DECORATE THE LOBBY TREE. HER BACK IS OUT AND I DO NOT WANT MINE TO BE!!!!!! IF JEN GOES ON VACATION I WILL HAVE NO ONE TO HELP ME THEN AND T=IN DECEMBER THE OFFICE IS CLOSED A LOT FOR THE HOLIDAYS. THAT MEANS NO MAINTENANCE MEN HERE EITHER. SOOOOOO I MUST BE MORE CAREFUL NOW. SHOCKING TO HEAR MYSELF SAY THAT!! I AM FINALLY GROWING UP! HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY. :moped:  TO CARLA...THANKS FOR THE CYBER HUG  |
Melody
Every now and then a person just needs pizza lol. Happy You take care of that hand. I know it can be very painful and what we do to our body while we sleep should be illegal sometimes. |
Good morning everyone
And it is a bright and cheery morning out there all blue and gold at the moment. Cool, crisp and quite delightful for an early morning scroll down the hill to work. Both boys are supposedly coming over for Christmas and a couple of hangers on have decided to join in the festivities of the Kiwis, so there will be a bunch of us yahooing in the sun and sand and sea. I have a week off. Bliss - even if I don't get paid for the time off. Maybe this is my version of Christmas spirit - although it may all come crashing down when the demons and vultures arrive for work this morning. I'm off to breakfast in a few minutes so will keep this short until I get back. Happy - rest up that hand and do the exercises from time to time. You need to get the CTS fixed sooner rather than later. Have you thought about surgery? Mel - At last............ I was wondering if we would ever see the time when you started to think of Mel first, second and last. I hope Jen has a wonderful holiday and she can relax and enjoy herself. Rennie - pizza is good and I love the wood fired ones with the thin and crispy base, and most of all I love the very simple ones with few ingredients and small amounts of sheep or goat cheese. And for me you cant have a pizza without full fat cheese. Right breakfast - back later. |
Happy
We understand if you are not around. Mel Unfortunatly I have to work Christmas eve and Christmas. We have to have water and it falls on my day's to work. Christmas eve will be answering the phones most of the day. I'm so glad that you are taking care of yourself. I had that episode last summer but I still haven't come to grips with everthing I need to do. My brain doesn't want me to give up being 16-30 years of age when I could do anything and eat anything under the sun. Reenie I had pizza tonight for dinner. I used to eat the whole thing but now I'm full after 2 pieces. It didn't taste good. My appetite is changing and for the healthier life style. Amen on fat free cheese on pizza. Gotta have the real cheese. Shad It will be good for you to have the "boys" around for Christmas. Start counting down the days and think of the sea and sand. A week off work right now will be good for you. I called today to make an appointment to get my hair cut Saturday. I'm just hoping that the winter snow advisory stays in Missouri. It's now on the border of Missouri and Arkansas. The weather woman said this is suppose to fizzle out later tonight. Hope she is right. Went to the doctor earlier today. I still have a bladder infection. ugh. Got my first Christmas present today. A subscription to Reader's Digest. It had my bil in Tx's name on it. Tomorrow my gifts will be mailed to my sisters and families Tonight I'm going to take apart the computer to transport it to my aunt. The monitor connection may be a little tough to get off because it's been attached to long. I stilll haven't gotten my laptop but will before long. I've been using the computer at work. Don't even want to get on the computer after work. There is to much stuff to do here. |
cee
About every other month I guess I want pizza. Nothing tastes like it lol. We had an argument that the pieces are smaller now than they use to be. I called the pizza place and I WON lol yes they are smaller than they use to be. I am like that kid in home alone. Heaven would be a cheese pizza all to myself lol. I had 3 of the smaller cut pieces. Heck they didn't even have the pieces cut evenly lol. They said the cheese was low fat. I was surprised I didn't notice the difference. Not me on the thin crust. If I am going to eat calories and fat lol you give me that thick stuff, I love it. I did do without the stuff crust lol. Shad Glad you are getting a big of vacation. Sounds like you need it. I have never tryed goat cheese. Will have to look for it and see the fat content. Only kind of cheese I am really allowed to eat is farmers cheese. When I make things that is what I tend to use. Doesn't mess with my tummy. |
:rudolph:You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixon Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen
But do you recall the most famous reindeer of all :ginger:Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer Had a very shiny nose. And if you ever saw him, You would even say it glows. :tree:All of the other reindeer Used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Rudolph Join in any reindeer games. :clause:Then one foggy Christmas eve Santa came to say: "Hey, Rudolph with your nose so bright, Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?" :wreath:Then how the reindeer loved him As they shouted out with glee: "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, You'll go down in history!" LEAVING YOU WITH THIS SONG FOR THE MORNING TO KEEP YOU OCCUPIED WHILE I GO OUT AND FOOD SHOP!  |
Melody
lol I like Leroy the redneck reindeer better lol. |

Well, Mel, all I can say is:
|
Despite everyone's best efforts to tell me how to insert a picture or graphic in the middle of my post, I just don't get it. :dunno: So sorry for the thumbnail, not sorry for the image.
|
Sheesh, Rennie's down another 2 pounds. Maybe there's something in this whole praying and house cleaning stuff!
Congratulations, skinny!!! :congrat::congrat::congrat: I'm just trying to get back to my ticker weight!! (Almost there.) |
Congratulations Rennie - 2lbs - is that your magic number.
Well done |
Afternoon Carla - are you staying up late tonight???
|
1day
It is always a great day with pizza lol. Shad So far, for 29 weeks, I have lost 2 lbs at every other week weigh in. You would think I would lose more since I have added at least 1/2 hour exercise, walking/aerobic videos and upper body workout, everyday for at least the last 2 or 3 months. NOPE still just 1lb a week lol. Think I am working myself for nothing, yes I know it is good for the body. Heck I was losing this much when I was just sitting in a chair all day lol. Carla Very funny. I keep telling wolf, one of these days he is going to go hunting and become the hunted when the deer get tired of him lol. Ok, not quite skinny yet lol I am getting there. Have to say I was a bit worried about weigh in. My last one was before Thanksgiving lol. |
Well, Rennie, you're probably burning about 100-150 cal per half-hour. Let's say 125 on average? (We burn about 100 cal per mile walked or run.) Since it takes 3500 calories used to burn off one pound, that translates to a pound every 28 days... Even if you're burning 200 per session, that's still only 1 pound every 17 and a half days. So moderate exercise won't make you thin, but it will increase your metabolism and tone you up and do wonderful things for your heart and lungs and endurance. And, of course, while you're exercising, you're probably not eating, which has to be a good thing.
Shad, I should be in bed, but instead I'm chatting to you lot and working on the condo newsletter. (Yes, I did swear I'd never do it again, but...) I somehow managed to unload tomorrow's work contract, so I can sleep in in the morning. And tomorrow the Christmas dinners/parties/gatherings start, just when I was getting the :censored: eating back under control. I had a feeling Mel would send a hit man after me if i didn't stop misbehaving; just hope she'll be forgiving over Xmas... Spinning has gone by the board too: didn't much like the extremely loud music at the Toronto studio, so didn't go back; then was too tired when I got home last Friday; Monday my studio cancelled because of the snow; developed a muscle spasm in my back which is almost gone but which wiped out the rest of the week; can't go Friday as I've been invited to a dinner I really can't skip... By the time I get back at it (Monday, I hope) I'll have to break in the old tush all over again! Yikes, it's getting really late. Happy, I do hope the endless round of doc appointments will end soon, and that the wrist improves. I've had a few bouts of tendinitis, and know how debilitating it is. I did find physio helped, mainly the laser and ultrasound treatments, and that weird, oddly addictive machine that sends electrical currents through the sore bit. Hmmm. Maybe I should go back to physio myself. I'm sure they could find some decrepit body part to zap. Good night, sleep tight. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz |
I should ring her now - I should ring her now :lol3: I should ring her now  No better not or she will take me on a grand hike next time I go there and tip me over the cliff!

It’s so nice to stop in here and check in with all the chicks. Busy lot, as usual. We’ve been in crisis mode at work. We finally got the UAT testing platform built (3 days late!) and in our first run through the program doesn’t actually work. We’re supposed to be going live in two days and we can’t even be sure the data is correct or that it will actually allow users to add inventory. *sigh* I thought my poor project manager was going to cry last night. We were all there until 10:30 last night and look, it’s 5 in the morning and I’m wide awake again. I’m now calling in all the karma favours I’ve ever accrued to get this darn project over with.. It’ll all work out one way or another in the end. And really, it’s not as if it’s brain surgery: no one is going to die if an inventory system goes in Tuesday instead of Saturday as planned – though a couple of reputations might be a tad tarnished. OK enough work whinging.
Carla~ Get back to that spinning class, girl! Although being able to sleep in sounds lovely too. Yeah, I hear you on the newsletter. Sometimes you don’t have any option but to step up when no one else will. Funny how work like that gravitates to certain people. Somehow I managed to become the secretary for my neighbourhood association. Honestly, I was just sitting there, minding my own business. And I LAUGHED at the cartoon. That’s the attitude. Shad ~ Oh, a Christmas break in the sun surrounded by the boys sounds just like something you could use. I’ve decided to take the time off too. One advantage of billing by the hour, eh? I’ve missed a couple of days. Has anything calmed down yet? Mel~ Look after yourself, honey. Enjoy the tree decorating but let someone else put the star on the top  What is the theme this year or do you guys just go mix and match? I heard on a decorating show on the radio that this year the big holiday season colour is red… but next year the Xmas colour is going to be aqua! There you go. Go ahead and grow up, but not all the way. Happy~ I second Carla and hope all the poking and prodding ends soon. If our weather is any indication, I suspect your trip to Chi-town will be fine. Funny thing is that the last few days the local news has been going on about impending blizzards and ice storms and rain of frogs and the next ice age and really, it’s not that bad out. I think it must be a slow news period or something. Ceejay~ Good luck with the moving around of stuff. Are you going to replace your desktop with a laptop? And I generally go half-cheese on pizza. Rennie~ One lb a week is a great result, all the more so because that is a nice steady, healthy pace to lose. Hi to Patty. Gotta hate those posting vortexes. I suspect your post is out there hanging around with all those socks missing from people’s laundry. Nice to see you. Ok, It’s after 5 and I’m going to go and do some on-line Xmas shopping. At this rate it’s the only way I’m getting any done. Later, chicks! Hi to anyone I missed! I’ll be back again when the smoke clears. |
I KNOW I've posted in here but my posts seem to disappear. What's up?
Good morning from cold and snowy Delta. The lads are sure enjoying zipping around in the snowmobiles - they were out last night around mid-night going up and down the road. As soon as the lakes freeze, they'll be out there. Big news yesterday was that our postmistress's house burned down completely. It was a brand new house that they moved into in November so this will be a complete mystery. I've not talked to Nancy but know everyone got out safely. They are staying with relatives and are in complete shock as you can imagine. The Sears repairman is supposed to be here this morning so I'd better get cracking and wrap myself around a coffee and maybe even get dressed before he shows. Hershey is still asleep on her bed in the kitchen but it's time to wake her up. Lazy girl! I'm sure she'd like the woodstove lit so she can sleep in the back room. Now I hope this posts! |
HAPPY~ FORGOT YOU ASKED FOR AN E-MAIL AND I ANSWERED HERE BY MISTAKE....SO I WILL DO IT NOW.
CEEJAY~ WAS WONDERING IF YOU WERE WORKING. BET YOU CAN'T WAIT FOR THE LAPTOP!! HOPE YOU GET RID OF TH UTI TOO! GOD I HATE THAT FEELING!!! GUESS YOU ARE TOO~ RENNIE~ CONGRATS ON THE WEIGHT LOSS! :cheer: CARLA~ MAYBE WE SHOULD TRY RENNIE'S "DIET" WHEN YOU BEGIN ON MONDAY DON'T OVERDO IT OR YOU'LL BE RIGHT BACK WITH THE SPASM AGAIN!! :nono: I THINK WE NEED A "GUARDIAN" :lol3: :lol3: LOOKS LIKE WE'RE NOT SAFE TO BE LEFT ALONE!! :belly: SHAD~ GLAD THE KIDS AND EXTRAS ARE GONNA BE WHOOPING IT UP ON THE BEACH. SOUNDS FUNNY WHILE I AM FREEZING MU RATHER AMPLE BUTT OFF OVER HERE!:beach: HAVE A GREAT WEEK OFF THEN!! MADCAT~ I'LL TRY VERY HARD NOT TO AGE TOO QUICKLY  THE SENIORS TREE IS MULTI-ANYTHING & EVERYTHING. WHATEVER THEY ALREADY HAD OR BOUGHT. THE LOBBY IS USUALLY GOLD BUT SHE HAD JIMMY AND I ADD THE RED BALLS AGAIN THIS YEAR.LOL SHE MUST HAVE HEARD WHAT YOU DID! LOL AQUA? LOL SENDING ALL GOOD VIBES FOR LIFTOFF ON THE PROGRAM OF YOURS!! KEEPING THE GOOD VIBES GOING TILL IT IS UP AND RUNNING :cheer: RUTH~ YOU SHOULD HAVE WRAPPED YOURSELF UP AND GIVEN THE SEARS MAN A GOOD MORNING SHOCK INSTEAD OF THE COFFEE POT :belly:  SO VERY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE FIRE AND GLAD EVERYONE GOT OUT SAFELY! EVERYTHING IS DECORATED, BROKEN STUFF FIXED AND THE REST TOSSED OUT. BOTH TREES ARE DONE THANKS TO JIMMY'S HELP. IN FACT IT'S ALL CLEANED UP AND I SAID A FAST GOOD BYE AND MADE AN EVEN FASTER GET AWAY!! :scooter: THEY WON'T MISS ME CAUSE ALL THE SERF WORK IS COMPLETED. THAT'S ALL THEY REALLY WANTED ANYWAY BECAUSE THEY ARE 2 WOMEN SHORT AND THE OTHER OFFICE IS REFUSING TO HELP OUT. SIGH. I PASSED ON THE FOOD SHOPPING. WILLY WILL TAKE ME TUESDAY TO THE SHOPRITE. THEY HAVE BETTER SALES THIS WEEK. I AM GOING TO DO AN OVEN STUFFER ROASTING CHICKEN FOR XMAS AND GET SOME SIDE DISHES. JEN AND RICHIE ARE GOING TO PICK STUFF UP THE DAY BEFORE THEY LEAVE OR WILLY SAID HE WILL MAKE SURE I GET TO THE STORE. PLANS ARE DONE. CHILLY OUT AND I AM GOING TO CURL UP AND TRY TO READ OR WATCH SOMETHING CHRISTMASSY :hohoho: HAPPY FRIDAY!! YIPEE THE WEEKEND!! ENJOY!!! :moped: |
The Sears guy showed at 11 and changed the timer in my dishwasher. He checked out the rest of it - heater and stuff - and says it should be good for another 13 years. He wouldn't put that in writing though!
Claire and Doug snuck into the yard while he was here and stacked all my wood for me. They even covered it with a tarp. Good friends. I took them a casserole for supper a few minutes ago and am now going to lug my heavy parcel to the P.O. (I sort of hope Nancy the regular Postmistress is there because the supply one is an idiot who has to measure and weigh everything three times and completely loses it when there are more than two people in line. Nancy's house burned down completely the other night so I won't be shocked if she's not there.) Once that's done, I'll consider the weekend started! Here's a giggle for you! |
Ruth
I love the sears repair man. Have had the same one for 20 years. He is my favorite person. Always orders me free stuff. One of the kids thru something in the kitchen and put a big dent in the front of my dishwasher. He told me what it would cost to replace the front panel, I wanted to die lol. He ordered me a new one and put it down as stripped screws. I said yes but they really aren't stripped, he said they are now and tightened them until they stripped lol. That was so nice of your neighbors. The young guys next door, ok they are in their middle 30's I guess not so young helped to my drive yesterday and today. My coat kept coming unbuttoned. One of them said, you better button that coat. I told him I was going to have to sew the button holes closed a bit I guess, it just wouldn't stay buttoned. He said, he guessed it was all the weight I had lost, I needed a smaller coat. Heck I didn't even know anyone had noticed lol. I feel so sorry for that person who's house burnt down. Wonder if they will find out what happened. Melody Thank you. Seems you have everything in order, way to go. I will do a turkey for Christmas as usual. I wish they would get tired of turkey, I do one at least once a month. 22 to 25lb turkey every month and they never get tired of the stuff lol. Mad I am happy with the weight loss just like to complain a bit sometimes lol. I don't work very hard at this so 1lb a week is just fine with me. Carla Fit day says I burn about 500 a day from the exercise and what I do around the house each day. That is good enough for me. I don't work hard at this. The calorie formula I saw here on the site said I am losing exactly what I should be. If I wanted to drop another lb a week that would mean 500 less calories a day which would be about 700 calories I could eat a day. You can't live on 700 calories a day lol. I will stick with what I am doing lol. |
RUTHIE~ POOR NANCY. WHAT A HOLIDAY THIS WILL BE! :faint:
RENNIE~ WE LOVE TURKEY TOO AND I HAVE A 14 LB LEFT IN THE FREEZER. I THOUGHT OF DOING IT AND EATING TURKEY THE WHOLE TIME BUT GETTING IT OUT OF THE OVEN WOULD BE A BIT TRICKY. JEN DOES THE ONES OVER 22 LBS NOW AND RICHIE IS THE TURKEY COOK. LOL I SLEPT IN A BIT. WOKE BEFORE 5 FROM A NIGHTMARE AND THEN FELL ASLEEP NEAR 6. BUT I FEEL BETTER. MORE WELL RESTED. MAYBE I GOT THE SLEEPIES FROM SHADDIE. :cloud9: IT'S GOING TO BE A CLOUDY AND STORMY WEEKEND. THE BLDG SHOULD BE QUIET SO THAT'S A PLUS. THEY ARE ALL PARTIED OUT. A DEAR FRIEND OF MINE PASSED AWAY. HE ALWAYS SENT "CARE" PACKAGES OVER HERE TO JEN AND I FOR MANY YEARS AT THANKSGIVING. WE MET HIM WHEN THE LIBRARY WAS HERE FOR 2 YEARS IN ONE OF THE OFFICES. I VOLUNTEERED THERE FULL TIME WHILE THEY RENOVATED THE REAL LIBRARY. FRANK KIND OF ADOPTED US AND EVEN WHILE DYING HE MADE HIS DAUGHTER COME HERE JUST A FEW WEEKS AGO. I TOLD HER THAT WE HAVE RICHIE NOW BUT NEITHER OF THEM WOULD HEAR OF IT. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE HE IS DEAD. HE WAS SUCH A GOOD AND CARING FAMILY MAN. HOPE THE ANGELS GIVE HIM A SPECAIL PLACE. THE END OF THIS YEAR SEEMS TO BE BUILDING UP VERY DRAMATICALLY HERE. MUST BE THE ROOSTER NOT WANTING TO LEAVE!!::rollpin: ON A HAPPIER NOTE....WE BOUGHT BATTERIES AND NOW I CANNOT FIND THE CAMERA!! IT MUST BE IN JEN'S BLACKHOLE SHE CALLS HOME. EVERYTHING THAT GOES UP NEVER COMES DOWN....DEFIES GRAVITY!  WE'LL KEEP LOOKING THOUGH AND HAVE BEEN LAUGHING ABOUT IT. THE ACCOUNTANTS ARE HAVING A HEART ATTACK.... COLLECTIVELY OF COURSE! THE TRCEIPTS & BOOKS ARE IN DISASTEROUS SHAPE WITHOUT A PROPER BOOKKEEPER SINCE SHE DIED. SO THEY ARE STRUGGLING TO MAKE "ENDS MEET" BEFORE THE YEAR'S END. WE ARE DUE AN AUDIT ALSO AND A FULL INSPECTION OF APARTMENTS. WE HAVE NOT GOT ENOUGH PEOPLE TO COVER THIS BUT I AM GETTING VERY INVENTIVE. THEY WILL BE BACK EVERY WEEKEND AND SOME WEEKNIGHTS KEEPING ME BUSY. I WON'T GET PAID TILL NEXT YEAR THOUGH. THERE IS A DEFICIT IN TENANT SERVICE FUNDS :faint: I RAN INTO 2 POLITICOS AND THEY BOTH SAID AT THE SAME TIME "I KNOW". WE ALL STARTED LAUGHING. NOT MANY THEY CAN TRUST RIGHT NOW EITHER. LOT OF DANGEROUS TALK GOING AROUND TOWN. I DO NOT SEE OR PREDICT A HAPPY ENDING EITHER. IT'S A SAD SITUATION. WISH I NEVER GOT INVOLVED IN POLITICS. THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU HAVE TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS :lol3: :lol3: HAPPY SATURDAY AND HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND! :moped: |
Poor Nancy indeed! She had bought and wrapped all her gifts too. I've not had a chance to chat with her to see how the fire started. It's incredible to have a brand new house burn! They moved in November 1!
Mel, politics is interesting but also very aggravating. I did a brief stint but just found it all too grubby. Life is too short to ruin pieces of it. Winter Wonderland out there this morning but very beautiful with a blue sky and sparkling snow. There's a feeding frenzy at the feeders right now - juncos, nuthatches, chickadees and assorted sparrows. Every so often a jay flashes blue as he swoops in. I love the cardinals too. Hershey and I decided to stay home today. We'll visit Mr Pouty tomorrow and do some decorating in his room after Church. Today we'll bake some cookies and put some thumbs into the 27 pair of mittens I knit for the Christmas. I cranked out mitts last winter while watching TV but hate doing the fiddly thumbs so today will be a marathon session. Do you think I will smarten up when I get into mitten knitting mode this winter? I don't know if I can wait for Christmas to eat turkey. I'll be having noon dinner with H. at the nursing home and am invited to several places for evening turkey. The problem with going out is there are no turkey leftovers and that's my favourite part, especially stuffing. I'll play it by ear but may do a turkey here for friends next weekend. Time to get at the cookies - they are for coffee time at Church tomorrow and I will NOT sample them! Happy fourth day of Hanukkah - light a candle or two tonight at sunset. |
WE SHOULD ALL HOP ON THE CHRISTMAS TRAIN AND HAVE TURKEY WITH RUTH....ONLY PROBLEM WILL BE THERE STILL WON'T BE ANY LEFTOVERS!!!  HOPE MR POUTY HAS A SMILE FOR YOU! :D
THE ACCOUNTANTS BROUGHT A BIG SUV WITH THEM AND UNLOADED A CHIT-FULL OF STUFF. THEY SAID THEY WORK FASTER AND BETTER WITH THEIR OWN MACHINES AND BOOKS. :faint: IT LOOKED LIKE MOVING DYA! I EVEN LENT THEM MY STOLEN SHOPPING CART FROM SHOPRITE!! :lol3: :lol3: I CALLED MY FRIEND AND TOLD HERE THEY LOOK LIKE THE'RE GOING TO TAKE THE FORT BY STORM. SINCE THEN I HAVE SCRUBBED DOWN THE BATHROOM BUT HAVE YET TO TACKLE THE BATHTUB. I AM WAITING AND SENDING VIBES FOR RENNIE TO COME AND HELP WITH THE SCRUBBING BUBBLES!! :yoga: I ALSO COOKED MEAT FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. MARINATED CH. BREASTS AND 2 PORK CHOPS. NOW THE BOG OL' YAMS ARE IN THE OVEN. THEN I'LL STEAM SOME BROWN RICE. GETTING PREPARED FOR THE WORK DAYS WILL MAKE EVERYTHING SOOOO MUCH EASIER AND FREE UP SOME TIME FOR TV AND PC :write: WHAT AM I DOING HERE? WHO KNOWS :nono: |
Happy~ I Sent An E-mail Again Just Now At Almost 5pm Saturday.
|
Hello Ladies,
Mel - so sorry to hear about your friends passing. Ruth - I'm sure the fire investigators will come up with something. I'm sure that has got to be so devastating to lose all your belongings.. Ruth I noticed you were on Medifast. Is that the all liquid diet? Not much going on around here. I'm taking a certification class and today was one of my classes. I have 3 weeks to study and take the test, which will be hard with holidays. |
PATTY, THANKS. GOD LUCK WITH THE STUDYING. WHAT A TIME OF YEAR FOR THE CLASS!! GO PATTY GO :cheer:
:hohoho: NOTHING IS NEW HERE EITHER. ONE ACCT. ATE SOME GREASY FOOD AND WENT HOME SUPER EARLY. HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM YET SO I WONDER IF HE'S COMING. IT'S SO DARK OUTSDIDE THAT I WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK TO BED!! BALA'S LOSS OF A NIGHTS WORK GAVE ME FREE TIME TO CHAT WITH HAPPY. AFTER A MARATHON PHONE CALL I THINK WE BOTH HAVE LARYNGITIS! JEN AND RICHIE WENT TO A BIG BD PARTY FOR A FRIEND. THEY LOOKED SO CUTE TOGETHER. CAME TO THE DOOR BEFORE THEY LEFT TO SHOW "MOMS" HOW THEY LOOKED. TOO CUTE. GOING TO GET BREAKFAST IN THE HOPES OF WAKING UP. HAPPY SUNDAY/MONDAY :moped: |
I'm still ready to talk - though my ear is saying NO more phone for a while  I told DH it was more like a visit than a phone call - we quit just shy of 5 hours :yikes: But I sure did enjoy it. Mel and I solved all the world's problems - but none of our own
I'm off to the grocery store. Will get back on tonight to catch up with everyone. |
5 Hours - :yikes:
How can you talk THAT long!!!???? Madcat - oh what fun!!!! Still it's better to go live late than right than on time and not working as it was intended - which is about what will happen here! No - nothing much has calmed down around here although I am not working weekends just now and all of my work is off and around the countryside looking for an owner to sign off. I have to go chase them all up from time to time. Ruth - Now whats with you and Patty losing posts. Are yours going out in sympathy with hers?? That poor woman - what a horrible, horrible thing to happen to her. I'm glad they all got out safely and are now coming to grips with the losses. It is unusual for a modern house to burn completely - well here it is anyway because of the insulation levels and the fire ******ant stuff, and it is usually only in a bush fire conflagration situation that the house is burnt out completely. What lovely friends to come and stack your wood. They deserve a medal those two. Here's a hint - mittens without thumbs!!!!! Mel - in an effort to extract as much cash as possible from the consumer - colours on Xmas trees seem to change each year. This year for example David Jones (department store) have sort of a dark rusty red, burgundy and purple Christmas trees. Last year was a sort of dark fir green with aqua and turquoise. Next year will probably be white and something else. So if you are keeping yours the same as last year, chances are those colours will become fashionable again around 2030. Sorry to hear about the passing of a friend. Was he the one that gave you the computer one year??? Hope you find that camera soon. Otherwise, Jen will be decorating for Easter and we won't get to see the Christmas doors. Patty - good luck with the certification class. Not a particularly good time to have classes tho' How's the weight going? And that's about it for a while. We seem to have an awful lot of people missing in action - Painter, Linus, Meadow to name a few. It's a busy time of year and who knows what is up in their neck of the woods. Happy - I'm surprised there are enough words left in the world for you to come up with. Happy shopping So  to Mooz, Carla, Ceejay, Holly, Rennie, Nae et al. Better go find out whats going on with the troops - hey, 'scuse me.........I'm their leader - which way did they go?? |
Sorry all have been gone a couple of days. Weakend started off bad and got worse lol. Glad it is over with. I am just glad things are as back to normal as possible. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

SITTING HERE WAITING FOR MY OATMEAL TO COOL OFF. I NEVER GET TIRED OF IT. SOMETIMES WITH SOME RAW SUGAR AND CINNAMON OR PLAIN. GOTTA LOVE THOSE PRUNES! NOT!!!! :faint: MONDAY AND DARK AS HADES OUTSIDE. YOU WOULD THINK IT'S ABOUT 8PM INSTEAD OF AM. THE FOG IS GIVING THE WHOLE AREA A VERY SURREAL LOOK. STRANGE STUFF. LOOKS MORE LIKE AN ENGLISH BOG THAN NJ!! BETTER GET THIS DAY GOING. NO ACCTS CAME YESTERDAY. 9AM CAME AND WENT WITH NO PHONE CALL. THAT'S THE SIGNAL.I HAVE LEARNED HOW TO ANSWER BELLS AND OPEN OFFICES IN MY JAMMIES IF I SO CHOOSE. THIS YEAR I GAVE UP GETTING "DRESSED" FOR PEOPLE THAT NEVER SHOW UP. :belly: MAKES ME SO MUCH HAPPIER NOW. I WILL FOREVER BE KNOWN AS THE PAJAMA LADY. BETTER THAN FOR BEING THE BIOTCH ON WHEELS.....ALTHOUGH THERE WILL BE MANY THAT WILL SAY IT LONG AFTER I AM GONE :lol3: :lol3: HAPPY MONDAY/TUESADAY :moped: |
Good morning all,
Got some presents purchased yesterday, making headway on the Christmas season. Didn't get the cards done yet. I think I'm going to forego my traditional Christmas letter this year. It was near 80 degrees this weekend which was odd, temps are cool today, near record heat predicted tomorrow and then it chills up again for the rest of the week. This is the kind of weather where everyone gets sick. Not to mention out shopping and picking up germs with the sickos. I'm hoping we get decent weather for travelling home in 2 weeks. They got pelted with the second ice storm of the season over the weekend. Lots of ice this year across the country it seems. It would pain me not to be home for Christmas :( Shad, although a 5 hour call is a new record, even for a yakker like me, I kind of look at it like Mel and I got together for dinner for the evening except that we didn't cook and we didn't leave our respective houses  Actually, it's been a long, long time since we last spoke on the phone, guess we had lots of catching up! Hope you round up all those necessary sign offs - glad to hear at least you don't have to work the weekends any more. They do the themed trees down this way too - I think it's just in an effort to get people to buy more ornaments. Mel - hope you don't work too hard with the accoutants and they can finish their business early. Looks like you have some wet weather your way - no ice tho which is good. I'm so sorry that you lost a friend in Frank. Patty - good luck on the test - you're right - difficult to make time for regular stuff this time of year. Ruth - I loved seeing all the birds at the feeder in the winter time. The cardinals are especially striking against the white snow. Hope you stayed out of those cookies... Rennie - hope your week is better than the weekend. Madcat - last week's theme must have been UAT. It's where most of my metrics were focused last week. Hope you get things in on time and that it starts to calm down for you. We always have a year end freeze in which nothing gets implemented for a month long period so as not to interfere with closing the books at year end. That makes for especially frantic days right up to the freeze as everyone hustles to get things in. Don't get too crazy! Hi Ceejay - sorry to hear you have to work Christmas but you're right - people do take that "having water come out of the pipes" thing for granted. Hope it's quiet and you can listen to some nice music. Carla - funny how easily you get roped into doing those newsletters, isn't it? I avoid all homeowner association doings and meetings now so that I can keep my distance. We have one of those home "zapper" things. I think they are called TENS units. I don't like them but DH said it really helps with his back. I guess it improves the blood flow which helps healing. Are you done travelling for the year work wise? Ok, it's late and I should be off to the salt mine. Be good chicks... sorry if I missed anyone. |
