Mel
Love the web sights. The reindeer are too cute

Holly
Glad you are over you sick spell and that you are in a better frame of mind than last year. You have turned things around for yourself.

Ruth
Enjoy the festivities and your company.

Reenie
I'm single so I have to work. I enjoy what I do. Sometimes I could set my boss in the naughty corner. He's very egotistical.

Shad
Hope you are in the office just to use the computer. You should be enjoying your time off. Drink a glass of bubbly for me.

This week end has been good. We didn't get to go to the lights of the delta.
Other things were planned. Another one of my uncles called and invited us out to eat lunch on Saturday. Every one had a good visit. There was some other pople in the resturant that I knew and went to visit at their table. Their daughter and I had been friends since grade school. I had not seen her in ages.
My uncles grandchildren brought my Christmas gifts last night. I wish I could remember how the 4 year old told me when she requested that I open it right then. It was so cute. I think I had missed them as to my ealier depression type epsiode last week. Kevin brought over another gift for me before I left to come back home today.
My aunt and I went shopping on Saturday and came back with a 20 inch flat screen high diffinition tv for her grandson. I needed to buy him a gift but didn't know what to get. She wanted to purchase the t.v. and I asked if I could help. I wish I could be there when he opens it. My aunt and uncle haven't told his parents so it's going to be a big suprise. I'm not to upset because their mother told me that she had purchased Reba McIntyer tickets for her and their 9 year old daughter. It's going to be a good Christmas for them. I'm finally in the Christmas spirit.
My aunt and uncle also gave me their gift before I left today. My sister sent me an email and said a box was in the mail. My niece sent me the cutest e card.
The only bad thing that's happened this week end is that I had a diverticulitis/IBS episode. Still have it to some degee. I'm not sure if it's something I ate or if it's nerves.

I'm it tomorrow at work. I'll be managing the phones and c.b. radio for the light office, water department, electrical department and street and sanitation department. The necessary stuff is all that I'm planning on doing the next couple of days at work. Hope there is not a major power outage or water leak.

Good morning all and good evening to Shad.

I am soooo much into the Christmas spirit (and spirits) today. Tons to do to get ready for the party tonight. Anybody want to come over here and do devilled eggs? Luckily I have stuff ready in the freezer and a LIST of what's there. One year I discovered sausage rolls and mini-quiche after the event.

My son Jim, DIL Wendy and darling Tayler (7) are here and still fast asleep. We had a great dinner and gift exchange last night. My son is in a major funk over job problems and Wendy and I, in unison, said "Get over yourself!" It seemed to work. I love Wendy - the best DIL in the world. Tayler is a delight and loves helping grandma. Her other grandma is Dutch and pretty uptight - T. told her mother I was more fun. That feels good.

Time to get cracking at some party prep before I get into cooking breakfast for the crew. Maybe I'll just have them get their own while I have a soak in the tub.

I do hope we all have a lovely Christmas full of love and laughter. :grouphug:

Cee
lol about your boss. The people that worked for me either loved me or hated me. I am stickler for doing things right the first time, lazy people hate me. Those that like to know what they have to do, how to do it and are left alone to do their work, love me. I was never above taking off my heels and skirt and putting on a pair of jeans and helping unload trucks if the guys needed help. Was great working with a bunch of guys, found woman weren't so easy to work with. Got flowers and glazed donuts from the guys all the time. Had one guy, that I fired because he picked up some girl while he was driving one of my trucks, send me a dead mouse one time lol.

Holly
We did the same thing with the Christmas music. Andy Williams-Hark The Herald Angels Sing, Bing Crosby-Do You Hear What I Hear, Gene Autry-Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, Johnny Mathis-What Child Is This, Perry Como-Little Drummer Boy, Burl Ives-Have A Holly Jolly Christmas are ones I love to hear year after year. Glad you are having fun with the kids. House is cleaned, doing laundry ( I am never done with laundry it seems ) and just going to enjoy the day. Daughter has to work, son is with his girlfriend, hubby has to work tonight. Just a nice, quiet relaxing time. I am going to watch Santa Claus Is Coming To Town lol.

Melody
Enjoy your day and have a wonderful Christmas Day.

Ruth
Hope you have a wonderful party.

ceejay52 12-24-2007 04:01 PM

Reenie
I hear you about working with men instead of women. They do pull their weight.

Shy Moment 12-24-2007 04:09 PM

It isn't so much woman not pulling their weight most of the time. Was woman whining and complaining all the time. Drove me nuts and they were so darn catty with each other all the time too. Talking about how someone looked or dressed, just got to me. I couldn't careless how someone dresses or looks as long as they work lol.

ceejay52 12-24-2007 04:38 PM

Reenie
Amen about some of the women. I've finally got the women here calmed down. It took a lot of doing.

Shy Moment 12-24-2007 05:01 PM

Is the reason I worked at trucking companys or in warehouses. Mostly men and the woman that worked there didn't care about that kind of stuff. We were to busy working to have time to pay attention to someones hair or clothes lol. The woman did tease me about my very long nails and wondered how on earth I did the work I did with my nails. I would tell them I can't function without my nails lol.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
HO HO HO!

Holly, what a lovely family you have. No wonder you're feeling so happy this year! I'm so glad that your stars are properly aligned at last - what a perfect Christmas gift.

Meadow, what a relief to hear from you at last. I don't think I was the only one wondering what the heck had become of you! to you and yours.

Ruth, did you feel me waving frantically as I drove past your exit on the highway yesterday? Round about 1 pm? (Actually, I wasn't sure anymore which exit was the right one, so waved several times - the warm feeling may have lasted for a while...) It sounds like you've got the perfect combo for a happy visit - beloved family members and good food and spirits.

Mel, you're on duty??? Here I thought you and the grandson would be curled up in your jammies with a large eggnog and a big slab of fruitcake, listening to Christmas music and resting those eyes. Sending you best wishes for no emergencies over the next few days.

Shad is stretched out on the beach with the kids. Or, more likely, busy prepping the barbie for the roast beast and fixings. Enjoy your time off, and think of us here in the frozen north.

Happy will be home for the holidays, no doubt cursing the vile weather they're having down there. Courage, my friend, soon you'll be out of the snow and wind and sleet and basking in warm memories of your time with the family.

Rennie has everything under control, dinner in the oven, fingernails perfectly manicured lol.

Ceejay is at work making sure the Grinch doesn't steal the water supply.

Madcat is no doubt having a nice lazy morning lounging with her DH before racing around to see family and friends. One of my Christmas wishes for the new year: to have the plan for a gathering with you and the rest of the Ontario worldly chicks actually happen. And congrats on getting that project off the ground at last.

1day, take care of yourself and keep on smiling. Enjoy the family visit!

And hello to out newest member, whose name I've forgotten, and if I go back a page to check I'll lose my post... Anyway, merry christmas and welcome to our quiet little thread.

So anyway, here I am in my little motel. I think one of my presents this year was realizing they had at last replaced the bedspreads (ick) and pillows. Also, the drive down yesterday was quite easy, none of the projected flash freezing, and very little traffic. A neighbour had appeared at the last minute to offer to entertain and feed the cats, so that worry went away too. Soon it'll be back off to the wicked SM's house, where as usual I will receive the gift of second hand smoke wrapped in the realization I've bought all the wrong gifts, have arrived too late and am planning to leave too early, and am, basically, a clumsy, selfish, cold and ungrateful child. Bah humbug!!!

I'd best be off now. My battery is running low,*and I'd hate to have this post disappear. Why do you suppose there are no plugs available anywhere in the room to plug in the laptop? Free wireless, but the cord just isn't long enough to reach all the way into the bathroom, and I refuse to sit and type on the throne or in the tub... Anyway, my complimentary breakfast and coffee await. I'll be back later or tomorrow morning to kvetch some more... :D
