HI . . .

Sorry I've been MIA, gang . . . This is not proving to be a good month for me, at all . . .

I now have two cats at the Vet's . . . Frack (the smaller of the Bengals) went in on last Thursday. Purrecious went in yesterday. Looks like it will soon be three because Mouse just started sneezing and squinting, too. Hope I can wrestle him into a cage to make the trip. At least the Vet tells me that Frack is finally showing signs of recovering.

What's the diagnosis, you ask -- Feline Herpes Virus I (yes it is a relative of Herpes Simplex I; the cold-sore disease that people get) -- and I seem to have my own little epidemic on the go in my feline menagerie. Think the latest addition (Blizzard) that I got from the SPCA in mid-November is a carrier (although he shows no signs of an outbreak). So now I guess they all have it. The other Bengal (Frick) is okay so far; but it is probably just a matter of time.

Feline Herpes is usually not fatal (although it might be part of what happened to Jazz, since he was older and had a compromised immune system anyway, because of the Diabetes). Yes, it is incurable -- just like people Herpes -- but it is controllable and it does NOT cross species lines (thank goodness for small mercies).

Needless to say, I'm a mess, diet-wise . . . eating every 'bad for me' thing I can get my hands on. Stress of the season, added to stress over the sick cats, added to stress over the nasty, early Winter weather -- it's snowing AGAIN -- added to stress over getting ready to go to Ontario for Christmas.

He, I have faith that this too will pass . . . See you later . . .

Good morning. How is everyone today? Or should that question be 'where'?

Well, I'm down 6.6 lbs in four days. I beat the 5 I was hoping for, but not quite sure I'm going to make 10 in this first week. But you never know. I'm actually eating about 1700 calories a day, which is frighteningly easy to get through. I don't know how I used to manage on 1200. Thank goodness for breastfeeding!!

Hi everyone! Happy weekend.
Have to do all errands today, we are expecting 10-15 inches of snow starting sometime after midnight.
That means tomorrow will be a football day indoors, hoping to keep from snacking too much LOL! Although shoveling is good exercise

Hi everybody . . .

SSDD around here -- It's still snowing and blowing and the cats are just about the same -- at least things are not getting worse so I can count that as a bit of an NSV.

ROBSIA . . . keep up the good work, Chickie . . . and give that baby an extra from me.

Keep fighting the good fight, everybody . . .

Hi everyone! Snowy here. Had to shovel our own driveway and the driveway of my investment property today. Phew. I am beat. Guess that's my exercise for the day

Have a great day!

Well, I don't know if I'll lose anything today. It was my daughter's PTFA Christmas party and there was food, although I deliberately told them to give me only a small portion. But there was also chocolate and alcohol. I'll be happy if I only go up a little bit. I'm down 8.1 lbs since Tuesday so that's already more than I hoped.

Jealous of those of you who have snow - although not jealous of the shovelling.

Hi . . .

Storm warnings of every possible kind for Nova Scotia -- and for a lot of the rest of the North American continent --

Stay warm and safe, everybody . . .

Well, I did go up, but I've come down again this morning. So, my stats at the beginning of the second week are:

Week 2:
Initial baby loss: 17 lb
To lose to get to pre-preg (144): 37.4 lb
To lose to get to ultimate goal (135): 46.4 lb

Starting post-birth weight: 190 lb
Current Weight: 181.4 lb
Lost so far: 8.6 lb

If I kept up this rate, it'd be all gone by the end of January!! But I've got a feeling it'll slow down from now on.

fiberlover, how long has it taken you to lose your weight? That's an awesome amount of weight you've lost! Congratulations!!! You should be very proud of yourself!!!

(That was a nice way of saying, "I'm very envious of you!!!" )

It's cold and still pretty windy, but the sun is shining, and things are not too bad -- as long as you don't have to go out and drive on the ice-covered roads.

Later, gang . . .

Hello Everyone.
I am so sorry that I haven't been on for a while. I have had so much going on. I'm still weighing in at 158 which I am so grateful for! We had a death in our family last week...my godmother passed away. She was a wonderful lady. She was 94 years old, and had a great life. I will really miss her. Things have been so hectic...I still have so much shopping to do. I see we have some new faces on this board...how nice! Welcome, and congrats on your loss so far. If I can help in any way just let me know! We all have to stay strong this week and next week...I know we can do it! I hope you are all doing well. Chat Soon!!

Diana,
It's been over a long period of time. I lost 75 pounds in about a year and a half. Then I went through a plateau that lasted for months. It was soooooo frustrating. Nothing I did could make the scale budge. Then I back slid and gained 25 back.
I finally got myself kicked in the butt and have been back on track for a while now. I am glad I stopped the slide before I had gained everything back! I am almost back in 'virgin fat' territory LOL!
