Hi, All -

Hey! I posted something here last night (actually, just about 24 hours ago), but it's not here! Wha' happened?? Just as well - lots of whining about the heat and humidity. Today was even worse, although I feel like I lost weight just by breathing in and out.... It's really oppressive here in MA, even on the coast. But I understand that there's cooler weather coming down from CANADA - YAY! I hope it's not just a cruel hoax!

My weight loss has completely stalled. Meowee, you have a point about the humidity and its effect on weight loss. I guess the good news is that I haven't gained!

Hi, Denise!

Jax - That shake sounds delicious! I haven't had SlimFast in a long time; maybe, during this hot weather, I'll whip up some a.m. shakes!

I have to go to bed!!!!! Bon soir, All!

Em

Morning . . . . . . Still Hot, Still Sticky . . .

Boy oh boy, EM, if Canada is sending you some cooler weather, I don't know exactly where it's coming from, but I wish it would come here on the way by.

Keep cool everybody . . . see you soon . . .

Thanks for all of the welcomes,

It's actually not too bad here today - quite hot, but not nearly as humid. However, from what they are saying this reprieve will be short lived. I'm trying to get out very early to walk because if I don't it doesn't get done.

Jax - That's not an easy diagnosis to hear. Any time our kids aren't well is a big stress on the family. I hope there is a lot of support available in your community. How old is your son?

Well, I've been doing about anything I can think of to postpone vacuming but no little gremlins have come to do it so I guess I'd better go.

Have a great loooong weekend. Talk soon,

Well . . . it is still fairly humid, but much cooler this morning and the little breeze feels great . . . probably won't last long, but it feels great right now.

These kittens are driving me crazy . . . I no sooner climb the ladder and put my bedroom curtain rods back up than they manage to pull them down again. Think I'll just live with nothing but the mini-blinds for a few days in the hopes that they will tire of this new "game" by the next time I put the curtains up again.

Anyway, gang . . . hope you are enjoying the weekend so far . . . take care, have fun, and I'll see you all later . . .

Good evening everyone ,

I hope everyone is having a good weekend especially those who are having a long weekend . I am still on vacation til Thursday. I have absolutely no plans.
The weather is nice and hot. Hoping tomorrow is the same . I am doing ok weight wise so far this week . No gains , staying the same so far. I think my husband will be making some Malibu Pineapple slushy drinks later . Can't wait for the kids to be in bed so we can just sit back and relax .

Good night !! enjoy your evening ! Annette

Just a quick "Good Evening, All"!

It was another hot one here in MA, but NO humidity (although I hear it's on the way back - BAH!).

We had a great day today; our little town becomes a hotbed of happenings the first weekend of August! It's called "Heritage Days", although I'm sure the founding Mothers and Fathers would be shocked, as I'm sure that carnival rides, fried dough, jewelry sales and Dickie Betts have nothing to do with our town's history! I have to admit, I did partake of a little "heritage" myself today, in the form of ice cream and fried dough. Ouch!

I'm off to bed. I wonder how many calories I can "sleep off"?

Em

Morning! I worked with a couple of farmers wives yesterday ... this dry spell thing is getting serious, I guess. And it was looking pretty good yesterday but did not rain over night. Oh dear!

Rain!! We had rain this morning.

It was wonderful. Not enough but I'll take what we can get. Other than one thunderstorm, it seems we didn't get any significant rain in July. Not good, especially with it so hot. Today is going to be hot again but not as much as it has been.

We are back with our new puppy, Kodiak, and he doesn't like sleeping at night. So we're not doing much of that either. Bad for healthy eating/exercise - I just do not have the energy for my weights today. Hopefully tomorrow. With this extra sleeplessness I may not make that 8lb goal, but I'm still going to shoot for it. Kodiak will settle down. Smoky is very good with him but a little annoyed about the night time barking too.

Snuggles to all,
Jax

Hi all,

Not too much new around here except it's a cool morning 13 degrees! I just got back from a walk and on my cool down I almost wished I had something to put on.

Little puppies are so cute - and that smell. Hope he starts to sleep soon.

Have a great day!

Hi all!

Wow have I been enjoying the long weekend! Catching up on my sleep a LOT, which makes me suspect that lack of sleep had something to do with my gain last week. I always underestimate how important enough sleep is!

We've also been car shopping this weekend. WOW it's so overwhelming. At least it got me walking a lot around the auto mall.

Today I'm back to where I was before the gain last week, so that's encouraging.

Red face

Better sleep last night but not great. Kodiak wasn't wailing all night but he didn't want to sleep after about 1 a.m. either. My scale is up to 177 again this morning - not too surprising since my eating has been awful, and I'm not drinking enough water. Trying to stay on plan today. Yesterday I didn't even have the energy/interest to put my food into FitDay so although I know I overate, I have no idea by how much. I'm being optimistic and not changing my ticker.

The coffee pot didn't flood this morning, so already it is a MUCH better day than yesterday.

Denise - my eldest is 9, soon to be 10. It's not easy going through this process, but hopefully we can get him some more specific help at school this year. I'm not sure on the resources available, since we only moved here last summer, but I'm sure there's more than up north, where we lived before. He will be starting socialisation classes (one thing with Asperger's kids is that they have to learn social behaviour much like one learns math, or science, it isn't naturally absorbed) which I think will help him. I'm still learning all this too - having not heard of AS until a few months ago. They were initially testing him for ADHD but although he shows some facets of that (as apparantly most AS kids do) it's not the major concern. It's nice to be able to read a book about AS kids and identify with much of Nathaniel's behaviour.

Weather is more seasonal again - hot but not scorching. We got a new screen door yesterday which should keep the flies out of the house. The old one had a huge gap at the bottom.

Well time to feed the animals, take care all,
Jax
