HaHaHa, I know it's not a hangover!! Geez ladies, I'm not quite that dense ;)

I had a hangover on Sunday and started getting sick on Monday. I've decided that it must be a man flu that I've got because I'm feeling particularly feeble and pathetic :dizzy:

smylie 08-29-2007 10:07 PM

feeble and pathetic? dont let it catch you
beat it up
beat it beat it
kick it in the butt

Elerine 08-29-2007 10:40 PM

Helllloooooooooo Ladies

Sounds like everyone is kicking bum at the moment!

I, too, have been doing quite well these last few days. Carrot and celery are my new best friends, along with grainy bread.

For dinner last night, I had roo steak, 1/2 plate of greens and a bread roll. Oh yeah! This morning, I had a banana and yoghurt for brekkie, with a small handful of almonds andcashews. I couldn't resist eating lunch early though, coz it looked so tasty! Chickpea, tuna and roast tomato salad. I'm really enjoying eating healthy, tasty meals! This is fun! I'm even drinking 1.5l water a day! And, my portion sizes are normal now...eg, Kantong Sweet and Sour...we used to halve it between us (it says 4-5 serves on the jar)...the other day we quartered it and kept the other serves for dinner. Oh my, what a great feeling to control my food, instead of it controlling me!

That said, I don't think I'll check my weight, in case nothing has happened!

Will post personal replies later - my internet died, should be back on soon.

Kylie:D

pacman12 08-30-2007 04:28 AM

I'm good too, ate well today and had my PT appointment. She has made me promise to go to the gym 4 times before our next session next week, so I'll have to or I'll get in trouble hehe.

Also met up with a friend I haven't seen for a few years, and met her new twins. Was so nice to see her.

smylie 08-30-2007 04:51 AM

gosh i miss pt sessions, you really do want to impress the instructor hey.... i remember doing things so i didnt get in trouble... maybe i'll make jemima my instructor and have her to answer to

julia i know EXACTLY what you mean about enjoying the healthy food... i have been so excited to have days at home lately so i can make myself a HUGE salad, mushrooms, tomato, lettuce, little bit cheese, little bit ham or tuna, jalapenos etc yum yum

7senuf 08-30-2007 06:00 AM

Wow Kylie you HAVE been eating healthy. And Kel I know what you mean about actually being at home to be ABLE to fix something decent. I seem to be never at bloody home.

Go Gen Go! You sound like yr on a role to.

Well I don't and never have had a PT, but I rang my daughter this morning and asked her if she would like to come to the swimming pool once a week with me. The idea is to get my little one used to the water, and play with her for a bit. Swim her back and forward between us. THEN I am going to swim laps (only 5 to start) while big daughter looks after little daughter.

Have to go. Snuck on here during study time. But sounds like everyone is doing great :D

Vonni

LittleKiwi 08-30-2007 05:34 PM

Just checking in to say hi. Still battling this lurgey - was awake at 3 this morning breathing like darth vader so I really hope this doesn't turn into a chest infection.

I'll be tucking up warm over the weekend and hoping to be back fighting fit next week.

smylie 08-30-2007 07:10 PM

hi
julia go to the doctor or the chemist and get drugs
fight it good and proper - otherwise you might end up with one of those hang around coughs and feel like crap for ages!
i only got 20 mins on the cross trainer this morning so i will try and go for a walk after i visit the oldies this afternoon.... busy today packing and maybe even cleaning.... i pretend i am a domestic goddess so i should kinda make the house look like it....
vonni - has ebony been in the water much? jemima LOVES it which is so funny coz i am terrified of most water situations, i act tough but have real fears of drowning...

smylie 08-30-2007 07:27 PM

i just remedied the cross trainer situation but my poor mathematical skills cost me an extra 2 mins! i thought to myself oh yeah it was 20mins on the dot it was 21mins i had done... ho hum here we go 11mins.... well derrrrr i only had 9 mins to go!!! oh well an extra 2 mins was a good cool down i guess! i suck! but am proud of me for hoping back on when jemima went to sleep.... now gotta rush and shower and stuff before she wakes up!

PerthChick 08-30-2007 07:33 PM

Julia I agree with Kel. Do whatever you can to fight this, because it's an awful winter for the flu and other bugs.

I made all my goals again yesterday. I ate 1600 calories, walked for 90 minutes and drank 2L of water.

Today I'm planning to do much the same, and I also need to do a couple of hours of domestics at some point, because the house is driving me nuts. And then there's work… :)

It's so good to hear everyone sounding positive, and making plans to drop weight. YAY!

WOW - I just heard on the radio that they've done yet another study about Australian eating/obesity. They've found that only 1 in 4 people meet the recommended exercise guidelines, and 15% of people eat enough vegetables.

Good to know we're in the minority there :D

7senuf 08-31-2007 06:16 AM

I drank 500mls of water today :D

pacman12 08-31-2007 06:37 AM

You water hating people, get some sugar-free cordial, it makes it bearable! I can easily drink it when it's flavoured, and hardly any calories!

I was good today - walked, drank my water, and ate about 1100 calories so far. I will have a protein shake later on for dessert with some frozen blueberries to get me up to my 1500 cals.

Quite sore from weights being upped yesterday, especially my arse from the 35kg leg press! So just walked today, and will get back to the gym tomorrow for weights.

Feeling much more positive now that I've had *almost* a whole week back on track, and looking forward to weigh in! .... Did I just say that out loud? LOL.

Lindor 08-31-2007 08:42 AM

I am feeling the same Gen! After months of absolutely no control, I am feeling really good about things now that I have managed five consecutive days of eating well and walking to work and home again!

I am also optimistic about weigh-in on Monday (assuming I can behave myself over the weekend!).

Thursday and today have been very similar to the previous days, just a different box from the freezer each evening (and a few lollies at work)

And I still don't know how them cappucinos appear on my desk!

Still not doing good with my water!! But wondering now, after Gens suggestion of sugar-free cordial, whether I can count my diet coke as 'water' intake? If we are just talking fluid intake, then I am doing just fine with 600mls of diet coke and about six cups of coffee (cappucino included) and the little water I do take in each day!

Next week might be a challenge for me...I am taking a few days off work for a break. Hopefully I can keep myself occupied and not get bored and reach for the food!

And I really have to say this...

FIVE days...NO TimTams, NO Nuts, NO Pringles and NO Iced Coffee!!! Two days and I think I'll have earned a dancing carrot?

Anyone got anything exciting planned for the weekend???

PerthChick 08-31-2007 08:27 PM

Plans for the weekend? Would it excite you to know that my list of things to do includes vacuum, mop, washing, dusting, watering plants… ? Oh and I forgot to add changing the sheets on my bed :D

Aside from that I have about eight hours work to do.

And no doubt I'll watch some footy on TV. And read a book.

Anyway - reporting in: yesterday I ate 1600 calories, drank 2L of water and walked for 90 minutes.

Happy Spring 2007 everyone. This is day one of my plan to lose 5kg over the next three months, and I'm feeling excited about the possibility of reaching another goal.

I am planning to get to 81.8kg by the end of November - and I'm in a really determined frame of mind.

Lindor I don't think cappucino is a crime - I think it's fine to treat yourself as long as it stays within your calorie range. It's when I deprive myself that I start to get resentful and bored, and that sabotages my goals.

Drinking enough water can be a real struggle at times - I agree. I've been really good this week but sometimes it's really hard. My motivation for keeping hydrated at the moment is that I know when I don't drink water I automatically gain 0.5kg from retaining fluid. It's weird, isn't it.

Anyway, hope you all have a great and motivated weekend.

:)

If it was my place you were doing this at, I'd be ecstatic! But somehow I think not, so no, I am not particularly excited about your weekend! :p

I've become the most lazy person in the world and recently hired someone to come around to my place once a week to dust, vacuum and mop! It's not that I have anything better to do on my weekends, I just hate wasting them on housework!!

My weekend, which is going to be about a five day weekend for me, is not going to be all that exciting either. I might go off for a drive one day just to get out. The idea of the extended weekend was to relax and take a break, so I plan to do that!!

Despite how I make it sound Ani, I am not particularly concerned about my cappucinos. I have made the choice not to strictly count my calories just yet and just see how things go with what I am doing. I am sticking kinda to what I was doing when I was losing weight so I figure I am around the 1600 - 1650cal mark. If I start to see a trend over the weeks, where my weight loss slows, stops or reverses, then the cappucinos will be the first to go!

I agree we should be allowed these things, we just need to control them and not let them control us. One day I'll have control over the TimTams, Pringles, nuts and Iced Coffee and I will be able to bring them into my home and we will be able to live in harmony, where I will be able to have a portion at a time rather than the whole packet in one sitting!! Just now though, if they stay away from me and me away from them, we are all happy!!!

Have a good one ladies! :)

PerthChick 08-31-2007 09:43 PM

About half an hour ago I looked out my window and saw one of the kittens on the front verandah. It took a minute to sink in, and then I realised that there is a deep flaw in the backyard cat enclosure… and that he has found it

So now I can add "find it and fix it" (the hole in the enclosure, not the cat) to my list of domestic goddess duties!

You have a cleaner? Woo hoo!

And a five-day break? YAY!

I'm really excited that you're back and on track. I know you can do this - I have all the faith in the world.

:)
Ani

pacman12 09-01-2007 12:50 AM

Well I am feeling rather virtuous - had toast for brekky, salad and tuna for lunch, and went to the gym and the pool:

42mins treadmill
10 mins crosstrainer
45 mins weight training
30 mins laps

Knackered! Now feel like going for a bike ride as it's such a GORGEOUS day, it's unbelievable after the windy, rainy, miserable day yesterday!

I'm so "all or nothing"... but luckily this week, it's all good. I might even be able to afford a dessert today. Can't weight for weigh-in!

PerthChick 09-01-2007 03:40 AM

How ditzy am I? I completely forgot that my new housemate was moving in today!

Or maybe I didn't want to think about it until I had to :D

PerthChick 09-01-2007 06:47 PM

Another good day for me yesterday: I ate 1610 calories, walked for an hour and drank 2.4L of water.

I feel in myself that I have lost some weight this week, but I won't jump the gun - all will be revealed tomorrow at weigh-in.

Not sure what I'm up to today. I should do some work, and I want to go for a walk, but I'll play it by ear.My new housemate moved in yesterday, and I only saw him for an hour because he went out again. But I guess he'll be about today - unpacking and all of that - and I'll need to spend a little bit of time getting to know him.

How is everyone else's weekend going?

:)
Ani

7senuf 09-01-2007 07:57 PM

Lindor you get a dancing carrot NOW for your efforts :carrot: a party comes in two days time. lol.

I've been not to good with the water thingy. Was flat out at work yesterday and didn't even have a chance to reach for it let alone take off a lid and drink it.

I haven't eaten any chips or cheezles in 5 days :D

I've still had the odd chocy, juts not a whole block.:^:

No exercise. Grrrr. I need more hours in the day, but then I still wouldnt have enough now would I. Maybe not so much more hours in a day, but more hours before school finish or work finishes, so I have the place to just me and my bub.

Gotta fly. Workbook due in on Friday and I need to finish it before I pop it in the post.

Vonni

PS, Ani Send that housework bug you have around here. I'm with Lindor!

7senuf 09-01-2007 07:59 PM

PSS - I think CAlorie King syas something about total fluid intake doesn't it??? Is good to count??? Maybe I'm wrong, but I DID see it somewhere. Just that water is BETTER as it detoxes as well as hydrates.

Von

PerthChick 09-01-2007 08:24 PM

Vonni you're right about the fluid thing - of course it's good to drink water, but there's lots of ways to do that. Fruit and veges are made up of lots of water, rice absorbs heaps when you cook it - and tea, coffee, soft drinks etc all have heaps.

I personally prefer to try and drink a reasonable amount of water because I like how it makes me feel when I'm hydrated. I rarely drink alcohol, and soft drinks make me feel bloated, but I love coffee and drink a fair bit of that.

Thanks for the invite to do everyone's domestics. Not! the only reason I do them with any enthusiasm is that they burn about 200 calories/hour. Pathetic, isn't it :)

Lindor 09-01-2007 10:10 PM

Hey Gen?! Do you think, after I have posted my weight after weigh-in tomorrow, you could swing your magic and work out what my ideal daily calorie intake should be?

Ok, so yeah I've said I am not strictly counting calories just yet...but I am still allowed to obsess over it right?

My height was 170cms this morning (and not the 172cm it was last time I checked!). I do two lots of 20min walks five days a week...otherwise no exercise :^: And my weight I'll let you know of tomorrow - hopefully it will be under 90kg! Is that all you need?

Yesterday...I felt like I struggled a tad. I felt I was constantly hungry...or maybe I was just bored? It took a lot to keep away from the food, but I did manage it however, and I am pretty impressed with myself for that!! :D

Other than a few extra coffees and an extra apple or three, I managed to eat well yesterday...I think. No exercise yesterday though :^:

Today will probably be the same, as will most of next week, unless I can convince myself to do some step-ups!

Vonni...thanx for my carrot! But I seriously want to make it to tomorrow to successfully complete my first seven day challenge!! Wooohooo!!

My water is still not happening! That will be my next seven day challenge...from tomorrow I will drink 1L of water a day!

The flatmate Ani? He's not a personal trainer or anything helpful like that is he? I hope this one works out for you - and the fact that he was out most of yesterday sounds like he is a huge improvement on the last one!

Have a nice Sunday all :)

pacman12 09-01-2007 10:40 PM

No worries Lindor, I think I need your age as well, you can PM me if you don't want to post it.

I have got the sinus headache and sneezing back today - Mum and Dad have had the flu/bronchitis for about THREE weeks and I keep getting the sinus bit and then getting better.... it's annoying. Maybe my swim yesterday stirred up the old sinuses?

Anyh. Can't go to the gym as it shuts at 1pm Sundays, so I might go for a bike ride along the beach with a friend.

Went to the movies last night (The Bourne Ultimatum, so good, Matt Damon.... miaow!) and ate some mixed lollies, but I had enough calories left.

Lindor 09-01-2007 11:02 PM

I'm 33 Gen :)

Elerine 09-02-2007 07:56 AM

Hi Girls

Ani - bring on the Spring Challenge! bf thinks it's possible to get to 70kg for my birthday (4 Nov). hahahahahaa - I think 5kg down would be good!

Still feeling good, but obviously not as good as Gen!! Oh my - 120 minutes + a bikeride? You are awesome.

Keeping up the yummy healthy stuff, but have had a couple of secret blowouts. I'm such an emotional eater. Yuck.

Vonni, hang in there. Leave the water bottle next to you with a straw in it - then you wont have to take the lid off, lol.

Take care, I think I'll give weighing in a go tomorrow.

Kylie

7senuf 09-02-2007 09:51 AM

Is it tomorrow yet? Will I post my weight?? Naaaa, just thought I'd have y'all on the edge of yr seats.:p

LittleKiwi 09-02-2007 04:42 PM

Hi ladies

You're all doing so well - bravo! :cp:

Ani, hope the new flatmate works out alright. Perhaps having a bloke living with you will work out better??

I had a very quiet weekend and while I'm still not 100%, I am feeling a lot better than I was all last week.

So ... back into it this week. I went to the gym this morning and did my weights followed by 20 minutes walking and 20 minutes cycling. Weighed in and am down again :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

This week I'm going to concentrate on having lighter lunches and perhaps incorporate a couple of salads now that the weather's a bit milder.

Here's to a good week for all of us :hat:

PerthChick 09-02-2007 07:04 PM

Good start to the spring challenge for me - very good start.

I dropped 1.7kg!

This week I am going to stick to my goals and aim to drop another 0.5kg.

How did everyone else go?

:)
Ani

Lindor 09-02-2007 07:50 PM

Woohoo Ani!!!!

I'm pretty impressed with myself too!! Not only have I gone 7 full days with no TimTams, Nuts, Pringles and Iced Coffee, I have proved to myself that I don't need to eat all the time, and that I think I was eating more out of boredom that hunger! All I need now is to find things to do to change my insanely boring life!

Oh yeah...I lost exactly 2kgs this week too! :carrot:

Keep up the good work ladies!!

PerthChick 09-02-2007 08:19 PM

YAY Lindor - that is awesome :carrot:

I think we all need to put our thinking caps on now and come up with ideas to inspire you to throw out the idea of 'boring', and put some zip into your life.

Hmmm… I'll be back!

:)
Ani

LittleKiwi 09-02-2007 08:57 PM

Way to go Ani and Lindor - those losses are massive!

:woohoo:
:yay::yay::yay:

pacman12 09-02-2007 10:23 PM

Would anyone believe me if I said I lost ... 4.4kg!?

I did go for a 2hr walk at the beach yesterday that burned 875 calories (lots of uphill).

I can only imagine that I had a guts full last week from the night before when I weighed in! I do definitely FEEL lots lighter, and my pants are not tight anymore.. but I never know if that is all in my head.

PS: I have checked multiple times, so I'm sure!

PerthChick 09-02-2007 10:29 PM

Gen that is stunning - you go girl :dizzy:

I'm so inspired by all these great results today - it's great to see you girls getting back into it!

Elerine 09-02-2007 11:03 PM

95.4kg! that's down 1.7kg as well!

That'll put a 'spring' into my step! (sorry)

How great does it feel to have everyone back on top! woohoooo!!! :carrot:

Kylie

Lindor 09-03-2007 12:31 AM

Fantastic work Gen!!!

And you too Kylie!

I agree, it is very inspiring to see us all getting back on top!

And so far today I have not even considered something yummy as a reward for my efforts! I just want to keep it as it is and lose more this week!! :carrot:

smylie 09-03-2007 01:22 AM

holy crap! you guys rock!
i cant post now but will do later
gotta go to baby yoga
went away on the weekend and drank and ate heaps, dont care though kinda planned it.....

yep you guys need lots and lots of dancing carrots but my computer dodgy at the moment so not going to see if it will work

carrot here

carrot there

carrots everywhere

wow add up all that weight and we all lost a heap last week

WE ROCK

pacman12 09-03-2007 02:46 AM

Wow, well done everyone, we kick arse! I think we each deserve a carrot:

Ani :carrot:
Lindor :carrot:
Vonni :carrot:
Kylie :carrot:
Julia :carrot:
Me :carrot:
Kel :carrot:

Hope I didn't forget anyone! Now if only we could bottle this feeling and pop it in the freezer for the weeks we can't find it!

pacman12 09-03-2007 03:11 AM

OK, I think those scales may need new batteries, because I was just trying to weigh something to post and they were wrong, so I got out my scales from Sydney and I'm 95.2 on those, so that would be 1.8kg loss from last week, although on different scales. I think I'll make it that, as I don't want to under-weigh!!

Elerine 09-03-2007 03:22 AM

Thanks for the carrot Gen!

We are awesome this week!
