KNOWING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT TRAVELING LET ALONE BRAMPTON, I WILL REFRAIN FROM JOINING THIS CONVO ABOUT OUR NORTHERN NEIGHBORS   SHAD~ IF THE PLANS FOR NJ HAVE TO CHANGE DO NOT WORRY WHAT DAY YOU LEAVE HERE. BECAUSE WE HAVE NO PLANS, YOU CAN BE AS FLEXIBLE AS YOU NEED BE. GOOD LUCK WITH THE PARCEL PLANS!! LOL IF IT'S SMALLISH, WE CAN MAIL IT FROM HERE!! WILLY CAN TAKE US TO THE POST OFFICE!! CARLA~ NOW LOOK WHO'S ON THEIR KNEES CLEANING THE CRAPPER!!! :lol3: :lol3 THE TIMING OF YOUR MAIL CRACKED ME UP!! I COULDN'T BRING IT HERE WITH THE GRAPHIC THOUGH. I AM NOT TALENTED AND ALSO DIDN'T WANT TO CLOG UP THE FORUM :lol3: :lol3: I AGREE....MAY HAS TO GO. AND WE THOUGHT MQARCH AND APRIL WERE BAD! :tantrum: CEEJAY~ WAS THE ACTONEL BOTHERING YOUR STOMACH? MAYBE THE FOSAMAX IS GENTLER ONCE A WEEK AND NOT THE ONCE A MONTH. I HAVE FRIENDS THAT SAID THE ONCE A MONTH PILLS WERE JUST TOO MUCH ON THE TUMMY. I GAVE UP QUITE AWHILE AGO AND AM USING" CALCIUM 600/MAGNESIUM 300 WITH VITAMIN D100" FROM THE GNC THAT I ORDER FROM DRUGSTORE.COM. A DR TOLD ME TO TAKE 2 A DAY (AT SEPARATE TIMES) AND NEVER WITH CAFFEINE. SEEMS ANY KIND OF CAFFEINE KEEPS THE BODY FROM ABSORBING THE CALCIUM. GOOD LUCK WITH THE SAMPLES:hug: NAE~ SENDING MORE  TO LET YOU KNOW YOU'RE ON MY MIND....WHAT LITTLE I HAVE LEFT THAT IS FUNCTIONING! I WAS ALSO GLAD TO HEAR MOM IS DOING WELL. I THINK I FORGOT TO SAY THAT LAST TIME I POSTED. :rain: I AM SORRY TO HEAR THE RAIN DANCE I DID WORKED BETTER IN NJ THAN IN THE LAND OF OZ:faint: I WISH WE COULD GIVE THIS RAINY WEATHER AWAY! GONNA RAIN FOR 2 MORE DAYS. TURNED THE HEAT ON LAST NIGHT IN THE LIVINGROOM. TOO COLD AND DAMP FOR ME TO SIT AND WATCH MY KOREAN SOAP OPERA. JEN WENT SHOPPING YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WHEN THE SUN WAS OUT TO GET THE ESSENTIALS. IF WE DON'T NEED ARKS BY TUESDAY, I AM GOING ON THE BUS.:swim: SPENT TIME WITH JEN. I THINK THEY ARE ALREADY FEELING GUILTY THAT THE KIDS ARE COMING AND WON'T BE HERE FOR THE SUMMER. TALKED TO BOTH OF THEM. IF THERE WAS NO WHEELCHAIR...THERE WOULDN'T BE THIS PROBLEM. I AM EVEN BETTER OFF WHEN THEY ARE AWAY... LESS STRESS! BESIDES I HAVE WILLY AND JIMMY. WILLY EVEN FILLED FILLED MY PLATE AT THE PARTY AND WAS CAREFUL ONLY TO GIVE ME A HALF SPOON OF EVERYTHING LIKE I ASKED. HE'S ABOUT THE ONLY ONE THAT WHEN I SAY NO TO FOOD...HE LISTENS. GEEZ...LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THIS POST! BETTER GO AND LET YOU GALS DO SOME WORK! :moped: HAPPY FRIDAY AND LET'S ALL HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND. MADCAT WE WILL BE THINKING OF YOU AND YOUR SISTER. |
Hi there chickies,
First of all Madcat - so sorry to hear about your sister. Sending prayers, good thoughts and healing energies up your way. Hope things turn out in a positive way. Korean soap operas Mel? Just what kind of TV do you get in Jersey? Hope it dries up enough for you to get out. Maybe Willy needs to pick you up a dingy and a rain slicker. You can sit at the front of the boat like George Washington  It's good to hear that Willy is looking out for you. Good luck with the new meds Ceejay. Funny how their either don't seem to work at all (thyroid meds) or they have such bad side effects it's worse than what you're being treated for (arthritis and osteo stuff). Hope the new stuff is gentler on your tummy. Carla - I'm confused (easy to do) are you meeting Shad in Canada AND San Francisco? Thought you were driving her through Big Sur. You mean I have to SCRUB the toilet? I thought it was just swish swish  Shad - good to hear that you are getting some rain. Hope it lingers. I can't imagine having to live with the tight water restrictions that you do. Guess we just take things for granted here. I have said many times, if you don't think Global Warming and environmental issues exist, just look at Australia. You must be getting excited about the trip - starts next Friday, doesn't it? Rose - sorry to hear about the boyfriend but it's good to be comfortable enough with your own life so that you don't feel like you "have" to do certain things or live your life a certain way. Hope things work out well for you. As for losing posts - I do know about copying them. I can usually retrieve them but when the site hangs and doesn't want to respond over and over, sometimes I just have to abandon things and walk away until later. Well off to the salt mine for me. Happy Friday! |
Mel--The Actonel gave me heartburn big time. Boniva would do the same. Not sure about Fosomax, but the dr is letting me try something to take on a daily basis.
Happy-- I used to have the problem of this sight freezingand had to shut down to come back to it. I think it was some of the graphics. Shad, Holly, Madcat, Suzi and the rest hello. Not much on the agenda today. I love my week ends to myself. My aunt called last night to tell me that her 3 year old was looking for me yesterday. |
 WAVING MADLY AT HAPPY
DID I EVER TELL YOU ABOUT THE KOREAN SOPA OPERAS? EVERY WEEKNITE THERE IS ONE FRON ABOUT 9:30-10 PM AND EVERY WEEKEND THERE IS ANOTHER ONE FROM 9-10PM. I STARTED WATCHING THEM WHEN BY ACCIDENT I FOUND THESE SUBTITLED PROGRAMS WHILE I WAS RECOUPING FROM THE BUS. THEN I FOUND OUT THERE WERE TWO RUNNING AT THE SAME TIME ONE DURING THE WEEK AND A WEEKEND ONE. I BECAME ADDICTED. THEN JEN WAS TOO BUT SHE HAS SINCE LEFT ME FOR THE COMFORT OF HER BED WITH A MAN IN IT :tantrum:  WITH SUCH A LARGE KOREAN POPULATION THERE IS A STATION IN NJ RUN MUCH LIKE A KOREAN PBS CHANNEL. WANT ME TO TAPE THEM FOR YOU? :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: HOPE YOUR DAY IS GOING WELL!! NOW GET OFF HERE AND DO SOME WORK??? :rollpin: |
I FORGOT....
THERE IS A POST WITH SUZANNE. THEY ARE LOOKING INTO DATA BASEPROBLEMS SHE SAID. I GET "GATEWAY TIMEOUT" NOTICES AND I ALSO FIND THAT WHEN I SOMETIMES CLOSE OUT 3FC, I LOSE MY AOL. IT SHUTS DOWN AS WELL AND RESTARTS ITSELF   AND BEFORE ANYONE ASKS....NO I AM NOT CLICKING ON THE WRON LITTLE "X" :lol3: :lol3:  TO CEEJAY NOW WHO HAS COME TO SAY HELLO. I HOPE THE NEW ONE WORKS OK TOO. I ALSO WANTED TO SAY THAT GARDENING IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR FEELING GOOD. PARTLY DUE TO THE FACT THAT "GROWING" THINGS HELP KEEP THE SPIRIT OF BEING "ALIVE"...ALIVE! HAPPY GROWING!! HOPE YOU FIND A PLUG NEARBY TOO!!! MAYBE AN EXTENSION CORD OUT THE NEIGHBORS WINDOW...  |
Jesus....i Just Can't Shut Up Today
|
Happy, it does seem I'll be seeing Shad here and in SF. Let's hope we can be good kids and get along, or Shad may suddenly develop an urge to rush home early... aaargh - Carla overdose...
Right now the air travel is making the whole plan a little complicated, although I'm sure if Shad just throws money at Air Canada (and Shane) it will all work out. I'm not much help as I've never used a travel pass and don't know how easy it is to change departure city. About that, Shad, it will be no easier to wait and make your changes while in Toronto. As far as I know, AC no longer has any ticket offices, except maybe at TO airport ($50-60 by cab from downtown...) and they're hard to reach by phone. If Shane can just switch the TO-Cal portion to Ott-Cal, you may have to pay a change fee, and will probably go thru TO anyway, but at least it'll all be settled. I'd be a bit worried about you and your luggage making your Calgary flight in time if you take the 7 am out of Ott. You'll have to tell me what you'd like to do/see in Ottawa - nature? politics? museums? fitness? laundry and iron? Mel, you crack me up. I'm sure one of these days Jen will be back watching the Korean soaps with you to escape the discomfort of a man in her bed. :lol3: Ceejay, enjoy the weekend. You,ve earned it. Happy gardening! Well, I'd better get a move on. I've been doing a fine job of delaying prep for my day hiking. |
Morning all,
Rain has gone - we got all of 4ml but it will keep the garden going for a day or so more. NSW and northern Victoria got a good drenching which is good to see, but will not do the drought affected areas much good unless there is follow up rain fairly soon. We missed the best of it. Carla, I have picked up my tickets. I have checked out Air Canada website and may very well get Shane to make the flight later - I see there is one an hour later. I can't do it myself from here because the booking is made outside Canada, but it does give me a number to ring if I can't get Shane next week. If all else fails, I'll just go back to Toronto on the 15th and carry on as normal - I'll just need to find a resting place for the night. Nothing is impossible. For the time being everything stays as is. Mel - good to see you chatty - Korean soap opera??? I can see I have some education in front of me. Happy - I leave here on Wednesday 23rd. It's getting closer and closer and I am getting more and more slothful - slumped in front of tv or debating what I should do next and failing to get on with it. Time for a stern lecture I think. DS2's wrist and finger are progressing and he can go back to work after next week. He is relieved I think. DB2 continues on his non winning ways - I've asked the niece to push him into getting his passport photos done and signed so we can send that away. He only has 3 or 4 months before his reunion and can't get his butt into gear. And that is about it. Better get changed ready for my Body Balance class. Hope that wakes me up and gets the blood moving and the brain wired! |
SORRY FOLKS BUT THE LEFT EYE IS CRAP AGAIN. MAYBE A WEEKEND OFF THE PC. DROPS AND COMPRESSES ON THE AGENDA AND NOTHING ELSE. TOOK THE WEEKEND OFF. CALLED THE BOSSLADY LAST NIGHT AND TURNED ALL THE PHONES OFF. LOVE TO ALL. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. :moped:
|
Morning All, Sorry to hear about the eye Mel, you take it easy and rest. So fun to see you here so much yesterday...Korean TV....sounds interesting, you must be multi lingual!!!
Shad the trip sounds so great and the chicks are so excited to see you and tour you around.... fun fun fun! You deserve a great vacation for thehours you log in. IT will be so fun to play where in the world is Shad today!!!! Madcat, so sorry for the news. I do pray for the best for her and your family.... Geez sometimes it seems it will never end. Blessings. Thanks to all for your sweet thoughts about my BF. I am watching the dog Darby for a few days he is the sweetest old guy and loves to be with me and my dogs. Dog love is so uncomplicated. Loving the car. Cleaning for my company and planting a few things on the deck. My list of todo things is overwhelming that I must just laugh and get on with it. Here in the wilderness the weeds appear to win!!!! Love to all of you, Peace, Nae |
Morning chicks,
Quick post. Lots to do this weekend and it doesn't get done if I blow a few hours on the PC :o Hope you all have a good weekend. It's gorgeous outside. Sunny and cool - great for working in the yard though I will be stuck in the house. Sorry to hear the eye is acting up Mel. Rest up and take care of yourself. Love to the rest of the chicks... |
Meaured today and I've lost some inches. The scale, however, says I've gained five pounds but that I know is due to fluid.
The leg cramp is bothering me again today. I'm almost sure I've pulled a muscle. I''ll be taking Evista for osteoporosis. I put a new bed frame in lay a way yesterday. I've not been happy with the other bed since it was purchased 10 years ago. It was expensive but cheaply made. It's time for a change. |
Morning all.
Fast post this morning - I'm running out of time more or less. So much to do, so few days left. It's a bit cool this morning and it took me a while to get out of bed. Definitely autumn now. Fortunately it doesn't get much cooler than this. Even the cat wasn't too excited about getting up even tho she hadn't been feed for all of last year (according to her) Maybe she wanted breakfast in bed. Rose - with a to do list like yours you just have to start at the top and keep working. Weeds grow regardless of the weather or lack of it. Glad to hear the relationship is still on such a good footing that you can exchange dogs. :lol3: Feeling a bit stiff this morning, that Body Balance class sure does move things in places one doesn't think one has things to move. It's hard on the abs today - still they are the laziest muscles and never want to toughen up. Off back there in a few minutes to do a weights run. Then to the shops for the last of the purchases. I can then start to pack my bag. I'm trying to find some walking shoes which are not sneakers, but there isn't much around - you can either have boots or sandals - little in between. I was looking for some Hush Puppies but can't seem to find anything locally. Stuck in the house Happy - surely not again. Still soon you will have this cretin from downunder descend I suppose!!! Okay, I have a list longer than Rose so I'd better go get on with it. Repotting to do today - yesterday I did the lawns = they badly need weeding. Funnily enough most of the weeds have gone with the drought in the garden beds - only things left now could probably survive a nuclear explosion. See ya |
Happy Sunday!! Eye The Same. I Am Being Good.
Scanned The Posts To Make Sure Everyone Is Doing Ok. Have A Great Day. |
Morning all,
Thank you to everyone for the positive thought for my Sis. She’s doing better but they are keeping her in the hospital until they do the biopsy on Tuesday. We already know it is small but in a location in the middle of the frontal lobe where it can’t be removed. The outcome and the next steps will depend on what kind of tumor it ends up being. Until then, we wait. Of course, she’s already planning when she’s going to run her next marathon. Mel~ Hang in there and do behave yourself. And Shad hits the ground, running! Here is another travel possibility for you. If you want to fly from Ottawa to Toronto you could also try Porter Airlines . They are a commuter service that flies into the downtown island airport. The advantage there is that the airport is literally a block away from our place and I could offer you a couch to sleep on. Of course, if you are getting back to Toronto late the day before, you might want to stay out by Pearson Airport to save the $40 half-hour cab from downtown in the morning. Can you get Rockports in Aus? They are incredibly comfortable and look like regular shoes. Ceejay~ good work on the inches lost. You are right to ignore the scale. Happy~ Enjoy your weekend in the sun (don’t forget the sunscreen). Rose~ Thank you for your good wishes. Yeah, it’s the whole it never rains but it pours syndrome. I think the love of our pets is a pretty wonderful thing too. Ok, that is all I have time for. Today I will be taking my friend out of the hospital on a day pass (if the doctors allow). I think she’s going a bit stir-crazy just sitting there and waiting for results that don’t seem to ever come. They won’t let her go home to wait since she lives alone and can’t function with the double-vision. We may just go out for lunch and then back to her place just so she can spend some time with her cat and touch all her belongings. It must be hard. This entry seems to be all about me. Sorry. |
MRS MADCAT....NEVER APOLOGIZE. WE DON'T PLAN THE THINGS THAT COME INTO OUR LIVES. SENDING MANY  FOR ALL OF YOU. HOPE YOUR FRIEND GETS OUT FOR THE DAY. GOOD JOB SHE HAS YOU FOR A FRIEND TOO!
I FIXED THE KEYBOARD PROBLEM....IT JUST NEEDED A NEW "CHANNEL" FOR THE REMOTE.  HAVE A GREAT DAY :moped: |
Morning ladies,
The sun is shining and it's a great day to work outside again though I daresay it better warm up some by the time Shad comes or she will think it's freezing outside. Send you an email Shad with my phone numbers just so you have them. You are doing well with the gym routines. I guess I will leave the PUSH dvds out by the computer so when you get up at 4:30am you can get an early morning workout in while I'm still snoozing  I know, I know - she's thinking - I'll just have to drag her downstairs and work along with me :s: Rockport shoes are comfy as well as New Balance brand. Good morning Mel - are you enjoying a quiet Sunday? I think you're getting part of this cool weather too. Madcat - your post was not all about you. And even if it was, we are all entitled to them once in a while. You are a good friend to be there for your buddy and get her away for a bit. "Touching" things from home is so important - you don't realize it until you are away. Still sending good thoughts for your sister - sounds like she's a fighter. Ceejay - good going on losing some inches. Hope you can tolerate the new meds. Isn't that frustrating about the bed? Goes to show you that sometimes spending a bit more does not ensure better quality. Would have to agree that weeds spread faster in the wilderness. After all, the wind is just at the ready to blow all those seeds around. Just look at woodlands that have been burnt. It's devistating but within a few years, everything is green again. The power of nature... Well I would have liked to go to the garden center today to get a few more flowers to plant in the pots we have scattered across the yard but that counts as fun stuff and I can't do the fun stuff until the "gotta get done no matter what" stuff gets finished. And it isn't. I even got up early this morning so I could spend a bit more time having coffee with y'all. The good thing is that I'm not in panic mode yet. Still have a comfy cushion to get things off my to do list. Just can't be over confident and a slacker about it. I would love to make breakfast but the eggs are in the refrigerator in the garage and I can't walk through the porch to get there because Mr. Feral Cat decided to trot in at 7:30 and plop himself down for a snooze. I think the poor fellow is feeling his age recently. DH was watching him on the fence yesterday and he was stepping gingerly and seem reluctant to make that 6 foot leap off the fence to the ground as if he just can't handle jarring those old bones. Poor guy. At least he gets a once a day good meal at our house. Oh and on the theme of Memphis in May. Yesterday was the World Championship Barbeque Contest down by the river. Considered by many to be the highlight of Memphis - it's a pretty incredible thing. People who put the SERIOUS in barbequing. The contestants have little bays where they cook, you can be an invited guest and stay in their little square. There are also a few commercial places where you can come in and eat but most of the stuff being cooked is not for sampling by the general public. I debated about taking you all down there - this was a good year because it was not hot and buggy and oh my - it didn't rain for a change turning the place into a giant mudpit as usual. In the end I decided to save you all the calories and we'll just have a nice boxed lunch as we walk the wooded trails down the road  It's a smooth path for Mel's chair too. I think it's time to go feed the cats. Happy Sunday ladies. |
Happy--Did you have to mention the bar b q.? I 've been wanting some good bar b q for a long time. In fact I'm planning on having bbq on Memorial day.
Mel--don't strain you eyes. Wearing the pedometer today. I've already walked a .7 miles but not all at the same time. Lisa told me this morning that Retha was late for work Friday night. Tim came in to relieve Bud at 7 p.m. She got here at 10.30 p.m. I'm thinking that since she is already on a written warning that she doesn't care any more and wants to be fired. I'm trying my best to stay out of the situation. It's time for lunch. And I'm thankful that work has been slow this morning. The fire truck left out about 7 a.m. They always blow there horn when they get to the building because of the traffic light but it literally brings me out of my chair. Have a good day. |
CEEJAY~ GOOD GOING ON THE PEDOMETER!! ANY STEP IS A GOOD STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. GOOD GIRL STAYING OUT OF THE WORK SITUATION. KEEP A ZIP ON THE LIP!!
HAPPY~ I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A BOXED LUNCH WITH YOU AND THE CHICKS IN THE WOODS!! :hun: I'LL EVEN GIVE YOU A RIDE!!! :moped: DID YOU SAY BBQ?!?!?! YUM YUM!!! I LOVE BBQ ANYTHING. I THINK I WOULD EVEN EAT FISH IF IT WAS DONE ON A BBQ!! :lol3: HOW LUCKY MR FERAL CAT IS THAT YOU ARE SO CONSIDERATE OF HIM. BET HE APPRECIATES IT TOO. POOR OLD SOD. HAVE A GREAT DAY WITH THE TO DO LIST....MINE IS PROGRESSING SLOWLY....(SURE IT IS) I CAME BACK AGAIN TO BRAG: I CALLED THE ARTS&CRAFTS NEW BOSS LADY. ALTHOUGH I AM NOT SUPPOSED TO TALK DIRECTLY WITH HER, I LEFT A MESSAGE ON HER WORK ANS. MACHINE:rofl:  TOLD HER NOW THAT FRAN IS GONE I LOST MY ASSISTANT AND ALSO MY SHOPPER.....THAT I DON'T FIT IN STORES LIKE THAT...AND MAYBE SHE SHOULD JUST GO ABOUT ORDERING CRAFTS HERSELF AND THAT SHE CAN GET BACK TO MY BOSS AS TO THE DATE AND CRAFT SHE CHOOSES. SAYING ALSO THAT I WAS SORRY I WASN'T AVAILABLE TILL AFTER THE 10TH...WHAT WITH THE ELECTION AND A VISITOR. :lol3: :lol3: I AM BACKING OFF LIKE I PROMISED MYSELF. GOTTA SAY THAT AFTER I MADE THE CALL, I FELT RELIEVED AND MORE IMPORTANTLY... WELL JUSTIFIED IN DOING IT TOO. THERE IS NOTHING SHE CAN DO EXCEPT BE WITCHY ABOUT IT...AFTER ALL I HAVE THE WHEELCHAIR CARD!!  JUST WANTED TO BRING YOU UP TO DATE. STANDING TALL TODAY! |
Think we might have to stay away from the bbq even if only for Mel's sake. She would be back in there whinging about the weight gain at the end of the week.
If you have a bbq in the yard Mel, I will take you out for a bbq on the whatever date it happens to be. Losing track of the time and days here. Jumped on the scales this morning and saw a number I haven't seen in a long, long, long while. It won't stay, but it's something to work to. I find that during the week the weight goes up and down and up and down. All due to fluctuations in the water level and food choices no doubt. As long as it doesn't keep going up I am happy. Gonna take a bit of an effort while on holiday tho' Apparently I have to try out Poutine (my young ice hockey player friend tells me it is very more-ish but then he is 19 and keeps fit to play hockey) and I have to try out Beaver Tails - whatever that might happen to be. Again supposedly more-ish. Not to mention Tim Hortons coffee etc. etc. etc. Canada - the gastronomic delight!! I'm slowly getting into panic mode. I haven't done so much. Went to the dentist this morning. He gave me the good news (for him) that there is $732 worth of treatment to be done. He wants to do most of it in one sitting - I told him to make an appointment with my bank manager and see if I can get a personal loan. Car needs service. The DB2 and the DS2 are going to organise it between them. Hmmmmmm! Packing is continuing. I need to pick up some more biscuits for my Kiwi friend in AZ but can't find what I am looking for without going great distances. I was going to get some in Auckland on the way through but now realise that I have to take it as cabin baggage and the Homeland Security may find a bomb in the chocolate chip cookies. I'd much prefer to take it in the main baggage. Aaah well I will work on it. And talking of working on it - better get on with it. I promised to ring AZ today. It's getting late and I'd better do it before she goes to bed or whatever. See yah |
POOR SHADDIE ON THE RUN GETTING THINGS IN ORDER. TOO BAD ABOUT THE $$ FOR THE DENTIST...ARE YOU TRYING TO HELP HIM RETIRE IN LUXURY??
HOPE YOU GET YOUR TO DO LIST DONE  NO BBQ IN THE BACK YARD....THEY THINK WE MIGHT SET THE BLDG ABLAZE :flame: AND THEY ARE RIGHT! :lol3: I AM IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM...WELL NOT RIGHT THIS MINUTE...BUT SOON TO PUT THE CLOTHES IN THE DRYER. I JUST MIGHT HAVE MY OWN LIST DONE BEFORE SHAD GETS HERE. GONNA EAT AND RUN. HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE! ! :sunny: |
Hiya peeps,
Seems like everyone is busy running to and fro. Guess I'll join the conga line :carrot: :broc: :carrot: :broc: A full week this week but only working 3 days next week. The clock hands are spinning way too fast. Like Shad there is much to do. Must ... stay ... focused ... :) Sorry to hear about the dentist Shad. I pretty much got the same thing from mine - must be that time of season. Worse thing about getting older is body parts wearing out. Some things you can help, some like teeth - you can't. It's a plot to keep us working long after we'd rather stop I think. I'm sure that was not welcome news on top of already anticipated expenses. I think we can do BBQ for Mel. Doesn't have to be traditional pork dripping with sauces. Grilled fish or chicken with some grilled veggies. We'll get her eating right. Last night was grilled pork chops and some fresh green beans with a touch of freshly cooked bacon bits, a small baked potato with a dash of butter, salt, pepper and some fresh dill. Yum :T Salmon and swordfish are on the menu for tonight. I'm so glad. All the TV shows I watched have ended their seasons. There is nothing on the telly for me to watch any more which means I can focus my evenings more productively. I would love to get out and work in the yard some also. The warm weather is creeping back again, these last few mornings have been perfect. Ceejay - what are you planning on cooking next Monday for the holiday? I strapped my pedometer on yesterday too. How many steps in a mile? Can't wait to get my new one - this one is a bit off on counting. I chose free super shipping from Amazon.com and it's taking about a month to get my stuff. I should have just paid the 7 dollars for shipping and had the stuff in hand. Well I'm babbling and I need to get to the office so ta ta. Happy Monday ladies of the world. |
Hey all, Shad is busy and going into that panic mood. The trip sounds so exciting I can hardly wait to read all the posts as you travel across this country and North.....
Mel, hope youare feeling better with the eye. Happy your meals sound fabulous..... I finally went over and had dinner with the BF last night and things have shifted for me so it went well for my heart. I am still working on how to be a friend to him and redefine our relationship in that way...it will come in time just not yet. I had a house full of company on Saturday night and it was a hoot...so many people and so many laughs it was so good for me. Great group of people. They are probably freezing and trying to stay dry on that river for a few days. Well gals just a quick howdy..... oh Toby tried to chase off a mule deer this morning which the deer was not happy about and charged him a couple of times and then little teeka all 3lbs of her ran out the door to join the advance... even with me yelling that deer was pissed at that dog...but finally it turned and ran off and the two dogs felt victorious....what a site....... Have a great day alll!!!!!!!! Blessings, Nae |
Morning all,
Well the last of the flights have been booked. I'm eternally grateful to Carla for all her suggestions. I now have a seat on the 7.00am to Toronto from Ottawa which will connect with the Calgary flight now shifted to 10.10am. All booked, all paid for. Credit card is paid off as well. Now I can begin to spend!! It seems Ruth will not be able to meet us in Toronto which will be sad. But there you go, life is what happens when you make plans to do other things. Holly - are you still okay? Poor Madcat is off and running with friends and family situations. I shall completely understand if it doesn't work out for you Miss Mad. Thanks for the e-mail Happy. I've put it on my itinerary for those at home should they need to contact me. I'm taking my tempermental mobile as well. People should be able to contact me direct - for a price - which means they won't talk too long. My work agent suggested getting an American chip once I am there, but the technology sounds to much for this antiquated brain to follow. I like things simple. Rose - it's such a shame we can't meet on this trip. The nearest I come to you is Vancouver apart from being on the train. I don't know if or when I'll be back again but it's a funny old world and all sorts of interesting things happen. Haven't heard from Meadow for a while - are you okay up there in the wilderness? Also where is Carla. She has replied to my PM's but she is not here making a splash with her wit and eruditism (is there such a word?) Okay - gotta go. Decided not to go to gym today. I'll do a dvd tonight to help me sleep. Too much else to do. Gotta sweep and tidy the house, print out my itinerary for the DS2, and a whole raft of other things - my list keeps getting longer and longer. I want everything to be ready by dinner time tonight - no excuses. No overnight panic here :yikes: :tantrum:  :faint: Mind you - I could just forget the luggage and buy everything I need over there I suppose! |
just popping into say hello. A busy day of chores at work.
|
I WAS JUST READING WHERE THERE IS INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE THAT EATING THE NEW ZEALAND GREEN-LIPPED MUSSEL IS EFFECTIVE IN TREATING OSTEO-ARTHRITIS. ALL I CAN SAY IS THAN GOD....CAUSE I CANNOT IMAGINE EATING ANYTHING WITH GREEN LIPS! :faint: :yikes:
I'LL BE BACK TO COMMENT TOMORROW. |

Not quite as finished as I would like it to be but darn it, it's late and I'm tired. I've taken out all the phone numbers - shoot, should have taken out the email addys too I think. Oh it looks like I did. Well what else - I think I threw out the brain with the garbage today.
I've mislaid the shed key, but it has to be here somewhere. I know where it was, but not where it is now. It'll turn up no doubt. Half the teaspoons went in the garbage instead of the drawer today. Time to switch off I think. Right drink and bed. You might get something more coherent out of me tomorrow morning. |
HI,
It was our long weekend last weekend. Yesterday was all about relaxing. I have today off. Not much to do. Hubby has gone to work. Kids will be in school. I have Avon to pack. Calls to make. Minimal cleaning and dishes to do. Sunday night we had a great party!! We had about 6 families and a couple single guys. Lots of fireworks, toasting marshmallows.....I drank way too much but thoroughly enjoyed it.Now I am done for the year. DD was up til midnight. DS and Dnephew were up until 1 am. Sis and family stayed til 3pm yesterday. It was soooooooo nice out, 19C. Sunday it never got above 10C. HUGS!!! I will try to get back later. I need to read more carefully about plans for Toronto etc. HUGS again!! |
Morning chicks,
Travel safely Shad. She's on her way. And it's quite the grand tour plan at that. So why don't we have vacations like that? :chin: could be because we don't get much in the way of time off here. I saw the other day that the average worker in France gets 20 days of vacation as well as something like 6 weeks of holidays. It comes out to them only working 9 months out of the year and they are still complaining. It is a dream of mine to have one consecutive month off. Not that I'd have to spend it all on holiday - even to have uninteruppted time to spend working around the house and getting to all the little necessary tasks would be lovely. Some day... Poor Sunday the cat. Will be a long time before she sees her "mommy" again. :( So Rose - what's the difference between mule deer and regular deer we see in the forests out here? We have a bright yellow finch that has found our yard. Quite a nice bird menagerie we have there - I dare say that Shad will enjoy morning coffee in the yard quite nicely. Now if we could only get rid of the blackbirds. Time to get rolling along. Happy Tuesday chicks. |
Just looked at Shad's tour. Lovely.
Wondering about who is meeting in Toronto with Shad at this point. I could come for the day on the 11th or 12th. |
OMG I AM MISSING THE BON VOYAGE PARTY!!!
SAFE TRAVELING AND GET HERE SOON!!!! TAKE CARE MY LITTLE OZZIE SISTER! I HAVE BEEN IN THE OFFICE ALL DAY SORTING OUT ONE THING OR ANOTHER. HAD A GENT TELL ME THAT I LOOKED SEXY TODAY. 2ND TIME HE TOLD ME THAT THIS YEAR! HE'S MARRIED BUT I'LL TAKE THE WORDS ANYWAY! SOMEONE TRIED TO TELL ME HE FEELS SORRY FOR THE WHEELCHAIR...WHY IS THERE ALWAYS ONE WET BLANKET IN EVERY CROWD. THIS GUY HAS NEVER "SEEN" THE CHAIR ANYWAY! LOL SIGH....IN ANOTHER LIFETIME! :lol3: :lol3:  TO EVERYONE. I AM BUSHED AND HUNGRY AND NEED A SHOWER. DID FOOD SHOPPING AS WELL TODAY. AND I STILL NEED TO PUT THE SHELF GROCERIES AWAY! :faint: LOVE TO ALL AND SEE YA MANANA AFTER THE WASH! LOL |
My days at work have been busy doing chores, and not much time to spend on the computer.
Have a good day. |
Bags are packed, I'm ready to go. Well apart from the last minute things like packing the handbag and carry on luggage. Spent last night agonising about what to stick in that little plastic bag that you have to put all liquids into - including toothbrush and paste. It can't be over 100mls of fluid anything. It's not really so bad since one can't shower on the plane so there is no need for shampoos etc. The biggest problem is decanting the contact lens solution into something that is sterile and manageable is is correctly labelled. Finally I decided to go with several contact lens cases filled with tiny amounts of solution so I can at least remove the lens and put them away safely. Don't want eye problems to surface on holiday do I? I do wish the makers of laws and the makers of pharmaceuticals would get together and think about what they are doing to each other. 100ml (about 4 fluid oz) is the limit so the smallest bottle of lens solution I can buy is 120ml. Perfume comes in 5oz or 120ml bottles. I could go on.
Anyway most of it is now done. One contact address I don't have is Madcat. Madcat if you are reading this, can you pm your phone number or email addy to me please. I will get in touch even if we can't meet. Holly - which ever day suits you - come to Toronto and even if we can't meet with Madcat or Ruth we can have some time together. You will find the number of my hotel on the list - I'll be there from mid afternoon on the 10th. Happy - here the employed get 4 weeks off a year, plus a thing called pro rata after seven years which entitles them to another week (I think or that might be a one off) and then there is long service to which you are entitled after 10 years service. That gives you another week per year. So they end up after 10 years with 5 weeks annual leave. Mind you there is then the big dilemma. Book your holidays and then watch the company put another project into process and being already stretched as far as staff goes, you need to forgo your holiday so the company can cope with the extra workload. You then get into strife with the other half!! Some of those guys in the mines and refineries I go to, have several months - some as many as a year or 18 months leave accrued. The company threatens to pay them out the leave and forfeit the holiday, they try to take it, the company says they can't have it then because of the work load. Is it any wonder so many of them are off on stress leave? The whole of France nearly shuts down for the months of July and August, which is why so many of them have that extra holiday - ditto the Italians and the Spanish. For the life of me, I can not work out why folk want to go to the Mediterranean for the summer months - very little is open. Mel - Darn it woman - if the guy says you look sexy, then you look sexy. The old bat is just jealous. Take no notice and bat your eyelashes at him next time he is around. We may have to have a Shad session on all old bats when I get there. Bats respond well to a good THUNK around the ears. Right well that is about it. Might go and warm up with a session with Jillian Michaels and then attack the house. DS2 will pick me up in exactly 3 hours time. See you soon. Today is it. Still got heaps to do, but at least I am ready to go. Housework will still be waiting for me when I get back I suppose. Can't see the DS2 or the DB2 doing that much of it. |
Shad ~ Hope I caught you in time with my PM. If I didn't, Happy can let me know when you get there. we will connect up when you are here in one way or another. BON VOYAGE!!!

Hoping Shad's journey is starting out well.
I am so out of touch with what is happening in the world at large. I dont ever watch the news or read the paper anymore and I always did my whole life. Allergies are bad but i am okay with meds. Hubby and i are still in a better space. Kids are good. DS LOVED having company and a whole bunch of kids here. He misses the home daycare a lot. Both kids had the dentist yesterday. DS has a small cavity.DD has to have another tooth pulled from beside the front 2. The nerve is dead and will get infected. We go back next Tues. I was a bit lazy yesterday. ( or it seemed that way) Just puttered at stuff. A nice day outside. I trimmed a hedge and then packed Avon, did housework, took kids to dentist, got groceries, made supper, cleaned up............. I work 12-8 every Wed until Aug now. DS has soccer every Thurs night. Breakfast meeting tomorrow and then straight to work til 3pm. |
Mel--Maybe they took a wrong turn and went to Nashville, Tn. I do have to work on Monday. Not sure of the rest of the week end. Bud's mother is in the hospital and at age 93 any thing could go wrong. I may end up working his shift.
Madcat-- How is you friend and sister doing? Still another busy day. I don't know why but it's just certain times of the year this happens. My pedometer showed 2 miles yesterday and that was just at work. I know now that I do not need to do aerobics on the days I work. Think that's why I pulled a muscle in my leg. This morning it shows 1.4miles and the day is not half over but I have been helping Tim, the boss install a new sensor probe down stairs. Not much else to report. Have a good week end. |
Good weather here
It has been lovely weather all this month here. I've been crawling around in the garden pulling the sneaky weeds, assessing all the volunteer growth, lots of poppies, calendulas...some wild flower seeds sprouting, pretty yellows and reds. We have been planting a hedge, cedars, baby ones about a foot and a half high. Thirty in the ground so far and twenty-five later today. The dog is getting majorly muddy:p My sisters came up to visit for the long weekend. They are so great. It was wonderful to watch Coronation Street with them again and comment :p Maria and Charlie, ewwwww!
:carrot: Yeah, Shad is on her way! I've marked the day I think she will be travelling through on the train. May get the kids to the park and wave a sign hello as she rounds the corner by the lake. Hopefully she will be on the right side to see us;) Mel-you know you are sexy! Your entire attitude exudes charm and a sense of fun. Everything the fellows delight in. I hope your eyes are no longer so sore and that the time outside helps heal you body and soul:D Happy-Have you been in the pool yet? How hot is it? I thought is was really sweet of you to delay going out to the garage so as not to disturb your little feral cat. So nice. I hope all the birds in your yard are keeping all their feathers and avoiding all sneak attacks. Ceejay-Wonderful job with the clothes fitting looser! I was watching dancing with the stars and that Laila Ali makes me want to lift weights and get toned. But I seem to have a wish bone where my energy, get to itness should be:dizzy: Keep up the good progress! Lovely to see progress huh? Rose-hang some deodorant soap up to keep the deer from coming too close and upsetting the wee pups ;) Good to do by any plants you might like them to stay clear of too :) I hope you are enjoying your days and staying true to you. Madcat- I hope your sister has the news and is okay. She is already planning on running a marathon?! well, may we all have such a plan:carrot: I hope the visit with Shad is good fun. :goodvibes Holly-Have you tried that nose bidet for your allergies that Dr. Oz was talking about on Oprah? Seemed to be a godsend for lots of folks. Watching the news just seems to depress people, better to cruise the internet and search for the positive stuff people are doing in the world. Have a great time in Toronto when Shad hits Canadian soil :hat:  Carla-so great that you and Shad will be having an extended visit together and getting in some eye to eye contact. Your advice to her with all the travel stuff was great to see, you sure know the system. I bet she was really appreciative. Have a great time together! |
