But I have never been to Japan (want to, your so lucky!!) nor meet any of my relatives besides one letter to a great uncle. Nor does any of my family besides my grandmother speak Japanese fluently. No one can ever tell me ethnicity. I always get people asking because they just can not place me. Day 19 & 20 - 4 servings of fruit/vegetables per day - good - 1 pause left
Day 19 & 20 - No smoking - good - no pauses allowed! Day 9 - Calories under 1800 - good - 2 pauses left Day 10 - Calories under 1800 - pause - 1 pause left Still here, just had a busy weekend, (seems to be every weekend). Had a rough one yesterday with the calories, I didn't even count them at all! The smoking thing is getting better, but I still am having some rough days. I think that is what is kind of throwing me off with the food. :welcome: to the new people. Sorry I can't write more, I'm being kicked off the computer by a kid who didn't finish his homework last night! Have a great day everyone. |
trying to keep things in mind!!
Morning all. It's Tuesday here. I was thinking it was Sunday yesterday because I had Monday off, but it's already Tuesday. The challenges are going to be tough, largely for the reason that it is more work and requires more awareness, not something I really have time for because it's new and difficult, BUT I have to or just stay stuck where I am. I could call off the other challenges but my health is more important to me and maintaining a decent level of fitness..not that doing crunches does that but they stop the slide into total sloth!
The juice and crunches are the easiest in a way because I can get them out of the way early in the day and not have to think of them. The others are all things I can forget or slip up on at any time...sigh. Especially, the no processed foods..I do forget that I'm doing it. And the alcohol...hmm...that is one that all too easily answers to the call of the after-work coworkers and it's a very strong call at times, especially after a very stressful day! :^: Wish me luck! ************** dj -- Glad to see you're holding your own there. Yes, the smoking is surely playing havoc with your eating, but you're doing SO well! Keep it up! :strong: sumi -- All explained now and very interesting. Yes, I can see the Japanese in you, the eyebrows for one! It's too bad you've never gotten over here. Do you speak any Japanese or read? Have you ever studied it? I hear you on the pear shape. I guess most women are and some just more so than others. You'd probably do well to build muscle below. Initially it may make you look bigger but in short time it would help firm things up and burn more fat in that area. Good luck with your challenges! :flow1: |
I'm still here and still trucking along. Forget which day I am up to but I am still hanging in there with the exercise challenge. Must be nearly finished. When I get 5 mins, I'll go have a look.
Since the gym doesn't open early on Tuesdays, this morning I shot out for an early walk before it got too hot. Huh! It was 29C at 5.00am and I was soaked in sweat after my 5K. Yesterday got to 39C about 108F and humidity in the 70%'s - please can we have some cooling rain. I'll take anyones rain that they don't want!! Morning Red |
Hey all. I disappear again for a few days, and POOF there is a new thread. Hello hello hello.
OK. So, bad choices again over the weekend. Was busy, crazy, whatever excuse I can use. Like you haven't heard it all before. The Queen of the Excuse, that's me. So, starting tomorrow. . . 1) Daily exercise - level 3. 2) No unauthorized sweets - level 3 3) No soda - level 3 I am planning a cruise for May. I want to not look like Shamu. Kick my butt everyone! Sorry so short. I am off to watch Westminster. T |
Calories - <1500, day 8, 2 pauses taken
Vege/fruit - at least 5 servings per day, day 9, 1 pause taken Food log every day, day 9, 1 pause taken Exercise - 30 minutes per day, day 9, 1 pause taken I had to take a pause day on everything. Some of my co-workers brought in this big breakfast feast, and then "made" me join them. Once I'd had all that junk, I just couldn't stop myself from eating.  Then, went to the aerobics class at the gym after work. Waited and waited, but the instructor never showed up. Could have worked out by myself, but instead came home and wallowed in more food. I'm going to bed before my stomach explodes from all that food.:fr: New day tomorrow!! |
HELLO ALL!
Day 2 went well for 1.water 2.WW log 3.1000 crunches but i have to restart the journaling challenge...typical isn't it? i cannot schedule in any "me" time *sigh* good luck y'all! |
Just a quick check-in...I fell off exercise and calories due to the stress in my life that I seem to be having a hard time dealing with, but the good news is that I'm still on No Beer!!! Day 6 done I think.
I'll pop in again tomorrow cause I think miss DJ will be deseving of some of these...::cp: :hat: :cp: :hat: |
Hi everyone.
Red~ I just love the keyword of your new thread "COUNT" - that's exactly the challenge I have to overcome if I will ever succeed in losing weight. Would you mind if I jump back in again? My level 3 challenges are: 1. "Count" calories accurately - 1200-1500 net calories daily. 2. Exercise at least 30 minutes daily. Good Luck to everyone. |
Day 21 - 4 servings of fruit/vegetables per day - DONE
Day 21 - No smoking - good - no pauses allowed! - DONE (of course, this is permanent) Day 11 - Calories under 1800 - good - 2 pauses left Wow, I'm so glad I got the smoking one done! That is gone for good as far as I'm concerned. I'm not going to start another challenge at the moment. I've got to think of what exactly I want to work on. Apple - Excellent job on the beer despite the stress! :cp: Good work! Elle - That "me" time can be tough, but you're doing good on the other challenges. Think of it as building up to bigger things! Ashley - Ok, you've kicked yourself in the butt, now get back to work! You'll do fine. Red - We always are wishing you luck! You've done a lot of good with your challenges and despite the stress, you've held on well. Just keep thinking about how much you're helping your health. Hi Jolly, Shad, Girlie & Sumisan, hope all is well. Got to run again, another busy morning here! |
Day 2 Calories 1200 -1400 1 pause left
Day 0 Daily Chores 2 paused left Day 2 IRON PILL #1 no pauses allowed Day 2 IRON PILL #2 no pauses allowed Day 2 Home School Schedule 2 pauses allowed Day 0 Power 90 video - no pauses allowed since it has pauses already! Ok so I am still not doing my chores. I need to kick my own butt!!! I think I am on strike since my washing machine is acting up and I can not do laundry. Its even a new machine, one of those front loaders, but we think the pipe is frozen so it keeps giving us errors. I need to find the book and figure out what F H means LOL Exercise is still about a week away but I like looking at it haha, I feel like I could do it but dont want to risk hurting myself. I did do yoga kids with my children yesterday but that is barely a stretch haha Originally Posted by redballoon: djstorey: AWESOME on the not smoking, you know they say 21 days makes/breaks a habit. Calories - <1500, day 9, 2 pauses taken
Vege/fruit - at least 5 servings per day, day 10, 1 pause taken Food log every day, day 10, 1 pause taken Exercise - 30 minutes per day, day 10, 1 pause taken Susisam - funny how we have great new washing machines, but can't operate them any more. I remember how manual the machine was when I was a kid. Had to turn a crank and hold the clothes up to the wringer to squeeze out the water. And I'm "only" 48. DJ - Woo-hoo for hitting your challenges. 21 days of no smoking is quite the accomplishment. Girly - welcome back and good luck on your challenges. Your little dog is a cutie. Apple - good job on the no beer challenge, especially with all your stress. Keep it going! Elle - I'm still amazed that you can do 1,000 crunches. We probably did 200 at the gym tonight and it just about killed me. Shad - your summers sound like ours. It will be in the 90s here every day with high humidity. Red - I like your expression - "stop the slide into total sloth". That is quite the visual. Jolly - hope you're counting up the days on your challenges. |
Day 3 for 1.water 2. WW log 3. 1000 crunches
Day 2 for writing in my journal...my hardest challenge!! Ashley...1000 crunches may seem like a lot but i try to make sure that each hundred is a different type of move whether its pilates pulses or keeping my legs perpendicular to the floor while reaching right hand to left foot. the change up makes it go by quicker...try it!!! |
a happy one!
Happy Valentine's Day!! :val1:

Day 12 - Calories under 1800 - good - 2 pauses left
Happy Valentines Day! Actually had a really good day yesterday. My youngest, who has been in speech therapy since he was 18 months and WAY behind in his speech, no longer needs the therapy! He was re-tested yesterday and tested out above average for his age now (he'll be 3 next month). Guess he was just a late bloomer! That will free up 1 day a week for me now, which I'm very happy about, although we loved the therapist and will miss her. Thanks everyone for the nice words! Yes, I'm very proud of that no smoking one! Red - Glad you're still at it! We know you'll get it together, just do what you need to do! Sumi - What do you think of those power 90 workouts? Are they really tough? I'm really NOT a gluten for punishment, but I like the long, hard workouts and get mad when I put out the money for a workout and it's not what I want. Hi Ashley, Elle and anyone else out there! Have a great day! |
