Wow, I think my computer was on the brink of a crash. Hope I've saved it.
I've uninstalled the internet 7 and did a google on windows xp to see if they had some sort of scan. They did and Window's xp had more than 700 error's on it. It seems to be running a lot faster now.
I've inherited some clothes. And they are the brand I like, Alfred Dunner. I may have to have them hemmed. I took the bowl home to my neighbor and she had a lot of clothes someone had given her. She's lost weight. Sigh I'm disappointed but happy for her.
I've been outside today. It's been beautiful but a little cool. Got some fresh air into my lungs. The car got a much needed cleaning. I still need to do the inside of the car but will do that will be next week end.
Shad-- Sounds like you are getting ready for your trip to the States.

HOLLY I AM SO SORRY ABOUT THE DS. SPEND AS MUCH TIME AS YOU CAN AND LET HIM KNOW HE'S SUPPORTED AND LOVED. THE TIME SPENT NOW WILL MAKE FOR A HAPPIER FUTURE. SOME KIDS ARE JUST MORW "FRAGILE" THAN OTHERS. I KNOW FROM FAMILY EXPERIENCE. GOOD LUCK WITH THE COUNSELING.
CEEJAY~ THE CLOTHES WERE A GREAT "FIND". CONGRATULATIONS! I AM FAMILIAR WITH THE BRAND. VERY CLASSY LINE OF CLOTHING. SOLD HERE IN MACY'S. ENJOY THEM. GLAD NADCAT WAS THERE TO GIVE YOU A HAND. I WILL NEVER UPGRADE NOW!!!! ROFLMAO
HAPPY TO SEE THAT ALL IS WELL AND THE PC IS RUNNING BETTER. AND GOOD FOR YOU NOT PANICKING AND COMIONG HERE! I WOUL;DN'T HAVE THOUGHT OF IT! SOME PEOPLE I KNOW INSTALLED "VISTA" WHATEVER THAT IS. SOME LOVE IT AND SOME HATE IT.
ALL TOO CONFUSING TO ME!!
MADCAT TO THE RESCUE!! GOOD THING YOU WERE LURKING OR READING E-MAILS!
SHAD~ WHAT CAN I SAY?? I'M ALL TALKED OUT!!!
HAVE A SAFE TRIP BACK
GOOD THING SHAD AND I SPOKE ON THE PHONE. I HAD OUR AMERICAN POLITICIANS ALL MIXED UP. WITHOUT HER I WOULDN'T KNOW WHICH CANDIDATE BELONGS TO WHICH PARTY!! I AM STILL LAUGHING OVER THAT! I THOUGHT THE PAIN IN MY SIDE WAS GAS BUT I THINK IT'S FROM LAUGHING SO MUCH!! THANK YOU LITTLE SIS.
THE MOVING MEN WERE FAST. BROUGHT IT ALL INTO THE LOBBY AND THEN WE SHUT THE DOORS. IT WAS TOO WINDY AND COLD TO LEAVE THEM OPEN.
NICE GUYS AND ASKED ME IF I GOT PAID FOR THIS. THEY WERE CONCERNED ABOUT GIVING ME PART OF THEIR TIP MONEY. I TOLD THEM I NOT ONLY GET MONEY BUT PERKS AND TO KEEP IT. SO IT WAS ALL OVER IN A FLASH AND EVERYONE WAS HAPPY. THE WEATHER HERE IS VERY WINDY!!! VERY BAD SINUS WEATHER. AND COLD!!! MEL IS NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. BEST GET ON WITH THE DAY.
HAPPY SATURDAY/SUNDAY
PS.....HAVE WE NOW LOST SUZI AGAIN? IS SHE BUSY PLANNING ALL THINGS FRENCH? GOOGLING PARISIAN TRAVELS? AND HAS SHE TAKEN PAINTER WOMAN AND CARLA WITH HER? MAYBE THEY'RE ON THEIR WAY TO MEET UP WITH LINUS AND TEEL.

Morning all. It's raining and dark outside. So glad I chose not to go to Paragould this week end.
I binged on the meatloaf yesterday. It was a good recipe. I think I'm just hungry for some cooking instead of store bought stuff. I'd hate to se my fat and cholesterol levels right now.
Today I'm using the super foods for my menu except I'm using chicken instead of salmon. Hope I don't binge on any thing today. This week I'll be alternating between super foods, the whole foods life style and using the Slim Fast Plan. Plus keeping my calories between 1300 and 1500 and burning 200 calories per day on the stamina bike. That's 4 miles. I've been fooling myself about the 1800 calories--I'm maintaining on that amount. If I eat 1500 calories I'll need to burn 300 calories or ride 6 miles.
My challenge for this week is no diet soft drinks.
It's time for me to unload the dryer.

I forget how much there is to read when I skip a few days!
Mel: Glad the cyst is on its way out. Have I told you recently how impressed I am with your "equipoise" no matter how crummy the situation? Well, I'm telling you now. Hope you do get a flower carpet! Maybe no one will notice the butt pimple! Your tasteless joy and tantrum reminds me of the book I read last night: 5 People Who Died Having Sex. It is a compendium of lists of (very) weird events. I bet you'd love it!!
For those of you advocating a bit of fruit before bedtime, you'd be amazed at how many people die of "straining" in the bathroom. Have a dried apricot. Or something.
Shad: DH is a reliability ENGINEER. Not only is it hard to get people to MAINTAIN reliability, but apparently here, they won't even plan for it. Good thing we have an electric vibrator (!)… The kind that I can give him a back rub with. It's about the only thing that calms him down.
What an amazing trip you have planned! Would love to do "something" if you find yourself in Dallas (and wanting anything but a respite from jet lag.)
CeeJay: Glad you liked the warmer air. But hold on to your hat because the WIND is coming. It took down 4 fence panels, 2 fence posts and moved the patio chairs up against the wall. Oh, and the temperature dropped 25 degrees. And possibly dust from Amarillo. The sky this afternoon was orangish. And you could TASTE it. (Not at all like carrot cake, either.) Aren't you glad you were conscientious about watching the generator crew? I've never actually seen any of the "saggers" loose their trousers, but you just KNOW it's got to happen frequently. Good girl for GETTING the colonoscopy. I was due in January… but made the decision to wait until June. After DS's wedding… etc. etc. Just don't want to face any negative diagnoses now. It's only a routine one, anyway. I'm fortunate that my digestive tract seems to be adequate for a goat (or larger scaled omnivore!)
Happy: Glad the rooster is not a bird brain. Crowing on time, I hope. I can imagine your sense of loss at closing down your websites and terminating the hosting service. I assume you saved some clues about format and could put up a new one easily. I'm reading Coming to our Senses… and really believe it is wise to live in the NOW… and if cash is more important than web traffic, you gotta admit that and move forward.
OK, I give up-- what are NS food plans?
Holly: How was your Pancake supper? I hope you found alternate helpers and that you have recovered. Too bad they don't have waffle suppers! Or Cinnamon rolls suppers.
Things sound challenging with DS and the school. I agree with Mel: be as unconditionally loving as you can manage, and sooner rather than later. I've forgotten how old DS is… but they can have such difficult times. BEST WISHES. Courage!
Roseblush/Nae: It is important to wish moms well. Hope she has many anniversaries in her future.
Meadow: Glad to hear from you! I agree about The Secret and Oprah. I think humans and definitely those of us in the Western Hemisphere have a horrible time expressing ANY metaphysical truths. I think if you stay "awake" AND "intentional" you notice more opportunities to make your wishes come true. If you don't think you'll find money on the ground, don't look at it, don't believe yourself when you see it, you certainly won't pick it up and have it in your pocket, will you? But if you watch, know, and explore with a more open attitude, who knows what you'll find: whether it is tangible or an opportunity. I wish we spent as much time teaching philosophy and critical thinking as spelling and outlining.
Madcat: Do you get "Dilbert" in your comics section? Be sure to see the one from tomorrow's Sunday paper. I showed it to DS and he laughed right through his pancakes. All about who has authority (and responsibility). Sorry your organization is so dysfunctional. Maybe it's better to be "just" a contractor rather than actually part of the "company."
I bought 2 dresses yesterday that will do for Mother of the Groom. They were VERY on sale, and cheaper than just one from a dress maker. I am still going to look, um, "stout"... so I couldn't see why I'd pay a fortune when it didn't work the miracle of liposuction, a personal trainer or a lapband. I'm relieved... and re-motivated to at least get my tummy bulge reduced.
Stay well, y'all.

PAINTER I LOVE BOTH PICTURES. AUBERGINE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES AND THE OTHER IS GORGEOUS!!
THE MOTHER OF THE GROOM....CAN YOU BELIEVE IT. SEEMS LIKE ONLY YESTERDAY THAT YOU TOLD US OF THEIR PLANS. I THINK THE MOTHERS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO WALK DOWN THE AISLES WITH THEIR SONS AND GIVE THEM AWAY ALSO FORGET THE LAPBAND, TRAINER AND LIPOSUCTION....I WANT A MAGIC WAND!
CEEJAY~ WERE YOU ANYWHERE NEAR THAT TORNADO! OMG I ALMOST FAINTED LAST NIGHT WHEN I SAW THE DESTRUCTION. I WENT TO BED AND COULD NOT SLEEP. TURNED ON THE TV AND WATCHED THE LATE NEWS REPORT. TERRIBLE SIGHT AND RIGHT THRU THE CENTER OF THAT TOWN TOO. I CAN JUST HEAR BEN KENOBI SAYING THER IS A DISTURBAMCE IN THE FORCE FROM STAR WARS. UNBELIEVABLE WEATHER NOW.
I WOULD HAVE BINGED ON THE MEATLOAF TOO! I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT AND IT IS THE CRAVING OF GOOD HOME COOKED FOOD!! I AM COOKING NEXT WEEK AND DROOLED OVER YOUR POST!
 GOOD MORNING LADIES
I AM HAPPY TO REPORT THAT THE MYSTERIOUS PAIN IN MY SIDE/SHOULDER HAS GONE AS QUICKLY AS IT CAME. I USED DRUGS AND PAIN PATCHES TO NO AVAIL AND WENT TO BED EARLY. AS I LAY DOWN, I FELT A "RELEASE OR RELIEF" OF SOME KIND. MOVED MY SHOULDER AND IT WAS GONE. MAGIC. WHEN I STRETCHED THAT MORNING I MUST HAVE PINCHED A NERVE SOMWHERE. THANK GOD IT'S GONE CAUSE I COULDN'T COUGH, SNEEZE OR BREATHE DEEPLY WITHOUT PAIN.
I AM GETTING TIRED OF ALL THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS...SOUNDING MORE LIKE THE PERILS OF PAULINE AGAIN EVERY DAY
I NEED TO DOWNSIZE MORE. I LOOKED AROUND THE APT AND AM WONDERING WHY I AM HOLDING ON TO THINGS I NEVER USE. JEN MUST NOT WANT THEM EITHER BECAUSE SHE HASN'T "BORROWED" THEM!
USUALLY MY STUFF GOES UP TO THAT BLACK HOLE ON THE 3RD FLOOR THAT SHE CALLS HOME.....NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN!
I AM SITTING HERE GOING THRU A ROLL OF TOILET PAPER BLOWING MY NOSE AND TRYING TO TYPE. YES I CAN TELL SPRING IS NEAR.....
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY.
HAPPY SUNDAY/MONDAY!

Good morning chicks,
Mel, the tornado hit about 125 miles southwest of me and CeeJay is about an hour north west of me. I knew spring was here - first tornado warning of the season. The worst weather was way south of here. We did get dumping rains but that is typical for the area so I didn't think much of it. Lots of swirling gray clouds but if you've seen tornado conditions, you can tell the difference between that and just a bad thunderstorm. It's gone east now. We should be cool and dry until next weekend. That reminds me, have to tell DH to go out and run the pump to get the water off the pool cover. We got quite a bit yesterday.
I'm glad something "unpopped" for you Mel. Know what you mean about having a steady stream of this and that go wrong. It gets very frustrating - why can't I just feel GOOD again! Keep your spirits up Must be something in the air about cleaning up because I spent a good part of that same thing yesterday. Actually I was walking around all week looking at things going "I HAVE to take care of this". And I spent yesterday doing those very things. I have a comfortable sense of accomplishment even if there's a part of me that nags I should have been doing other stuff.
Mel, I think we tend to keep things around we don't use because there is still some "life" or usefullness to them. My DH has no problem tossing something he hasn't looked at in 3 months. I on the other hand, can't seem to get rid of a cute cordouroy slim skirt and vest - size 3 - that I obviously will NEVER fit into again. I bought it in a fancy boutique in Newport Beach, Rhode Island when visiting the in-laws. The skirt is about the size of my pant leg now. I wore it one season and by the following fall it was too small. Yet I can't toss it.
I hear you on the spring sneezies. I have extra Kleenex if you need some.
Painter, I love the dresses. The purple/red violet is one of them, no? That's a gorgeous color. You have red hair - don't you? I think that would be stunning on you. DS's wedding is June? NS = NutriSystem - a popular order to your door, controlled menu diet plan. Some people swear by it, but it uses alot of soy based proteins which some people can't tolerate very well.
Holly, hope you got a lot done yesterday. It's a real gift just having a quiet day to yourself.
Ceejay - you have me in the mood for meatloaf. Thanks for making my weekly meal planning a bit easier . Have you tried journalling your food to see what might trigger binging - I know too much sugar for me launches a real eat-a-thon. I like Alfred Dunner's line of clothes too.
Shad, I will put in to take the week of June 4th as my vacation. That works out great - I will have a 3 day weekend May 28 for our Memorial Day, a week of vacation in June and a week of vacation in July when my family comes to visit. Nothing makes me more excited than not having to go in to work I will have to make a reservation for the Blanchard Caverns ahead of time. Since we'll be in a cave it won't matter much what the weather is like tho by June it's pretty warm and dry. Perhaps we'll go mid week - Wednesday June 6. I think the kids are still in school and with it being the middle of the week, I don't forsee a problem getting us a slot. I guess it's a pretty popular place. We can firm up plans once you know for sure. I'm looking forward to your gardening tips too. That's great that you are going to New Mexico. We've never been there, you can tell us how it is. Your train trip across the Rockies sounds awesome. And are you going to the Butchart Gardens???? Boy I wish I had as much vacation as DH does - I'd love to travel with you and see some of those things. I hope you don't waste too much time flying around trying to get to Memphis. Not as convenient as Chicago to fly into. There are very few cities that fly direct here. Looking forward to seeing you again.
Madcat, hope this has been a more calming week for you on the job front. I guess you could look at this as a temporary situation that you can leave one day, but it surely doesn't make it any easier living in the moment. What happened to the good old days when working was fun?
DH is painting and wallpapering one of the guest rooms - my mom's room actually. It's going to be very pretty even if she doesn't like green and peach I'll take a picture when he's done. Today's agenda is the usual meal planning, groceries, cooking and a bit of cleaning the house rounded out with finishing the last of the laundry. Not sure if I'll be asked to help with the wallpapering but I'll do what I can. DH is very handy.
Hellos to Meadow and Nae and come out of lurking Carla. You too Linus. Have a good Sunday.

Much accomplished yesterday. everyone is home now. We are getting freezing rain. I was worried about the boys but they came ahead of the bad weather.
DS got Silver in the tourney.
The pancake supper was stellar. we cleared $500.00 for the Sunday School.I am glad it is over.
My Boss from the hair shop was in a 10 car pile up in bed weather on Thurs and has 2 broken finger, fractured collarbone and shin bone. I will be working Mon-Fri for the next 2 weeks alone.
I am DOWN another 2 lbs to make 12 total. 7 lbs to go to get to my lowest weight since I started this. 37 to get to goal.

Holly-- for those 12 pounds gone, shall we say forever. Ouch for your boss, but she is left with a good operator so she will not worry. The money ought to be good. How is your son?
Happy--I'm not sure what triggers my binges except for bread. I think just the smell of something good in the oven is what did it this time. I did, however, have french bread the day before with the spaghetti, and yes I've started writing down what I eat lately.
Mel--I didn't watch the news. We did have some heavy rain with thunder and lightning and the wind blew. There was one area of town that lost power but only for a couple of hours.
PainterWoman--I love both of those dresses. Happy mentioned NutriSystem but there is also SlimFast.
Goodness, I couldn't believe the calorie count of my breakfast this morning. It was a total of 840 calories. That's what I get for stopping by MCD's on the way to work. The next time I have to leave off the apple pies.
On the good side of things, I rode the stamina bike 2 different times yesterday to burn 400 calories. I like breaking this up into 2 sessions because riding 8 miles in one sitting is just a little hard on the tush.
They say it's not good to get on the scale every day but that seems to keep me on track. I realize that it's not going down every day but I sure don't want it creeping up either.

Didn't get to post yesterday since DS2 came and took me away from all that. We went down to pick up and pay for my new system. I'm the proud owner of a new laptop with widescreen and using Vista. Have to get the hang of that!!! And I have a 20g external drive for all my doco stuff and a 4 gig memory stick to cart between computers. I'm still loading bits onto the computer and getting stuck every so often with something that won't work out or fit or whatever. Never mind it will get done, one bit at a time.
The weekend went by in a blur of activity. Scans on the liver (nothing wrong except a bit of fatty tissue, and I still have the cyst on my kidney. It's not growing or shrinking just sitting there. Wish my body was that easy to maintain.
Glad the dates suit Happy. I'll firm them up this week, but it won't change weeks or anything. Still whinging over trans Pacific flights, and I still want to go to San Francisco!! So there. I'll be e-mailing Shane today. Soon as I get some time to play around with Webjet and find a reasonable flight.
Mel, I'm glad the pain in your neck is gone - could it have been me?? Time to make room for that blow up doll you were talking about - ummm I mean blow up mattress! Tell Jen that if she doesn't behave you will make her blow it up by mouth.
Ceejay - good going on the exercise. Wish I could say the same about the McD breakfast - Even though they say it is so much healthier now - if that is the case - you can only wonder at what it was like previously.
Painter - nice threads! is the tree a photo or one of your paintings? Or am I seeing strange things again.
Better go. All doco is due for the printer next Friday and I haven't even started some of it yet. Hello to Holly who I meant to reply too and haven't yet got there, Madcat, Meadow, Tig, Teel, Linus and Rose. Hope Mum is doing okay.

Ceejay- DS seems okay. he and DH had a good weekend away.DH was receptive to hearing how serious DS's feelings are etc and was going to focus on positive reinforcement. Still going to call for counseling tomorrow. Too important to let it go. DS has ALWAYS been intense, super sensitive, insecure, emotional.....No neuro/emotional disorders tho. Hoping early help and intervention will serve him well in life. I am scared for him as a teen without help now.

time to post before everything vanishes!
Hello the house!
Sorry for being absent in presence over the past few days. i saw on my sign in that I hadn't popped in to say hello for 6 days! Now that is a huge catch up, I have some reading to do and had my pencil and paper ready but then it all got overwhelming so I will need to read and perhaps comment later. I really will try.
You all sound wonderful!!!
Holly I will comment to you. a huge congrats on the weight loss. That is so so good. I am proud of you. 12 lbs is alot to lose. You are going so well.
I have not caught up about DS but thoughts your way.
Work is proving to keep me on my toes and the in between times I am catching up on everything else. I have been running solo the last week as DH has been travelling. It jsut means it's extra busy.
This weekend I organised a trip to NZ for a little visit. I have been hanging out to go and touch the earth over there. I miss family and friends. Its just me going and I am planning on a week.
Shad your trip sounds fab! Good on you. I love that picture you posted. It really is beautiful country. It brings back fond memories and makes me want to go back home...hopefullly later in the year we will all go. Maybe a skiing holiday in the south island.
Ok...i started this and work is piling up.
Lots of lve to all. I will catch up soon.

The prodigal returns, not really expecting a fatted calf... As always after an extended absence, it's just too overwhelming to try to catch up, so I won't. In any case, it's late, I have to work tomorrow, so this will be short.
Shad, I'm not sure exactly when you'll be in Toronto. I for sure won't be in New York, much as I'd have liked to visit with Mel too. That will have to wait until some future time. If we miss each other in Toronto, we might be able to hook up out west as I'll be working in Whistler for about a week (18 to 23, I think) and then may spend a few days in Van. I do have a brief window of opportunity for visiting TO before Whistler, and will PM you with all my exact dates and whereabouts. I don't know if you'll have time for Ottawa; if so give me an idea of when, and we can try to work something out. This is all most complicated, don't know how you're managing to coordinate so many different cities.
I've always wondered why there are some things that would be very easy to do, and yet they just don't get done. Two examples: my passport expired about 3 years ago, and for some reason the application is still just sitting there. Now, because of new US passport regs, everyone in Canada is trying to get a new passport at the same time, and the passport office has no intention of increasing staff, so it now takes 2 months. Instead of racing into action, I seem to be even more paralysed than ever. Of course, the problem isn't helped by the fact that I've been putting off getting new glasses for over 4 years, and I can't see a thing out of the ones I have. I have a new prescription in my wallet, it's the whole frame-choosing thing I can't deal with. Is it any wonder I procrastinate about posting at 3FC, or about getting on a proper eating plan? (I have the same trouble booking flights, and find myself all too often on a flight I didn't really want, in a really dreadful seat. Can't get my hair cut most of the time either.) There must be a name for my condition - maybe it's DDD, Debilitating Dithering Disorder.
So now you know far more about the real me than you ever cared to. but you did prod me to post, so there you are!
Sleepytime now. Zzzzzzz.....

Mel--Thanks for the encouragement. I'd like a magic wand, too, but lapband, liposuction and trainers at least place ads in the yellowpages. I'm so glad to hear your shoulder is better. I have a bone in my thumb joint that gets out of whack sometimes. I find that heat, massage and LOTS of visualization about relaxing it really do make a difference. Strange what the mind can do sometimes.
Happy: Sometimes 125mi doesn't seem all that far away when it comes to big storm systems. I'm glad you are OK. Thanks for the NS = NutriSystem identifier. Anything would be an improvement over what I am doing now. The cost in heart ache might be worth a fair amount of cash out of the wallet. Do I gather your Mom is going to live with you? Or does she already?
Holly: Congrats to YOU on weigh-in. Way to go. DS must be pleased with his Silver… Hockey or something else? I hope he's excited about counseling-- and sees it as an opportunity to talk things out and examine his own thinking without scaring anybody! or getting challenging reactions. Positive reinforcement (and ignoring everything else) is a good plan! There are good books about sons. Sadly, I waited until mine was pretty grown up to read them (well, when he was younger, I didn't have time! D'oh!!) but if you do have time, they might help you keep perspective.Glad you weren't in the 10 car pile up. sounds like a mess. Must be very hard to do hair with broken fingers.
CJ: I appreciate your candor. Those McD's can REALLY get you, for sure! I am not very motivated, inspite of the tears and gnashing of teeth about dress shopping. I don't know what's with me. I'd be amazed to get to 288 by mid March doctors appointment… sigh. Can't believe I am not more mortified to type that. And I don't know if the reality check is a good thing… if the lack of mortification is a good thing… or not.
Shad, do let us know what you thinkg about Vista. Skeptics abound!! Remember when just 1 gig was considered a MASSIVE amount of memory? and now it's on a little gizmo the size of a bit of chewing gum! Glad the liver and kidney scans were "good enough." I think sometimes there must be lots of abnormalities in our bodies that don't really matter… then we get one that does and they find all sorts of other stuff they want to fix-- or that scare us.
The tree is the weird photo of our dust storm. Everything was sort of orange and brown. Closed down Dallas Airport… last month it was snow in Chicago that messed up the hubs… and on tonight's news it said there were STILL people trying to get back home.
Suzi -- your bright shining photo alwams makes me think there's a movie personality in the group. So inspiring!
Carla-- Thanks for such honesty. I get into those DDD times, and I'm a mental health professional. It is SO embarrassing to not be able to 'cure myself.' I have at least learned that action is the remedy. And that any action helps, and that (almost) any action can be undone or re-done. Good luck!
Watched all the Oscar show... better than usual, I thought. Although I don't understand why there were so few bright colors on the gowns. Monday, Monday... can't face that day... Doesn't much matter, does it?

My mom
Hello everyone, it has been a weary couple of days and being so far away is so stressful.. My mom had her vein in her neck done and she is just losing it in ICU, the combination drugs and her refusal to accept her fate is really causing her grief. The nurses agreed to let my sis stay with her last night so they would not have to fight with her all night.... They regrettfully had to restrain her to her bed during the night. This morning in the double bypass. WOW what will she think then???????
Hold her in your prayers and all the hands that touch her. She is a fighter obviously and her recovery is going to be her next big hurdle. Thanks for your support...it means a lot to me.
BLessings to All,
Nae
