Happy Friday, Flowers! The sun is shining brightly, but it is still cold out there. We are going to the basketball game tonight. The band has put together a drum line which performed at the college game last weekend. They got rave reviews in the newspaper and a standing ovation so I am anxious to see them tonight. :cheer: Neither the girls' nor the boys' bb teams are very good this year. I guess the boys' coach is a show all by himself. In my humble opinion he is way too arrogant! I caught him making transparencies on the most used copy machine which is a :nono: because for some reason they melt and the machine is out of commission for days waiting for new parts. He was new last year and got the training so should have known. I think he was just too lazy to walk down to the other machine in the library. Anyhow, I tattled on him to the building aide who is in charge of the machine, and she marched down to his classroom and informed him he'd better not do it again. :lol3: I don't think we've been to a game in probably 10 years since Beth graduated.
Maggie -- I hope you are feeling better by now. Cute little stinker today! :D I can smell your supper! YUM! :T "Gma" -- Your snow will be gone long before our's is. :( I guess the ground hog did see his shadow so we will have an early spring, right? I'm ready! Did you happen to see the news program on TV about how unsafe the infant car seats are? All they showed are the first ones that go with strollers and have a base thingy in the car. Of course all four of our grandchildren rode in them! We bought the stroller/car seat combo for both families and they still use the strollers. I think that is a nice gift! Tomorrow is my day to work in the hospital gift shop so I have laundry started and will do a couple more loads tonight. Have a nice evening and a super weekend. Keep warm or cool, whichever the case may be! ;) Jean -- from Iowa! |

JEANGroundhog Day is an American tradition to predict the end of winter. On this day, if a groundhog sees its shadow, winter will last for six more weeks, but if it does not, spring will come early. So did he see his shadow? Some say yes and some say no. I think Spring will come when it is ready. :smug: Enjoy your game tonight. I have always loved the half time shows that the bands and pep clubs put on. I was in pep club when in high school and we did some neat programs. I think there were 30 of us gals in that club. ;) We always marched with the band in parades and at games we did stunts and formations. So I guess things haven't changed and your band is good at it. Thanks, I do feel better now. FAYE What is the result of your http://www.smileycons.com/img/variety/g-weigh.gifWW meeting? Type at ya'all later |
Good morning everybody! Hope your day is starting out fine. I am down 1 more lb. Can't say I wasn't a wee bit disappointed, but I will get into a rhythm and be fine.
Today we have Thomas all day and I am looking forward to it. His new games came last night so we have those and unless he really wants to go to Chuck E Cheese I am going to suggest going to see the movie, "Night At the Museum" then lunch then play video games at Jillians then back to the condo until him mom and dad pick him up. Our snow was melted by around 11 o'clock and the roads were dry so it wasn't bad. On the way to take Jack to work at 6 though, we saw 5 accidents in about a 10 mile stretch, all of them single cars having gone off the road from going to fast. The roads were slushy so a little slippery, but Jack could drive between 45-55 so it wasn't horrible. They drive 80 on the interstate around here and think nothing of it. Jean: How was the basketball game? I can't stand to sit on bleachers anymore. It kills my back. Maggie: We had hungarian goulash last night and it was pretty good. I didn't eat the meat because I had been having some tummy trouble all day for some reason, but I had a little of the sauce over my no yolks and it was good. We also had some little 2 pt Bisquick Heart Smart biscuits, which were very tasty. Your stews and such sound good. I am to the border on the blanket and then it will be finished. I will be so glad. I am about halfway with the front of dd's sweater too so when I finish those two things I can start on all the tops I want to make myself for vacation. Have a great Saturday everyone. I am going to unload the dishwasher and get out and walk around 6 or so as the T-boy is supposed to be here around 7:30 and I need to be showered and dressed and had breakfast before he gets here. GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAShttp://www.smileycons.com/img/variety/g-united.gif
It is a bright shunshiney day here once again. http://www.smileycons.com/img/variety/g-sunglasses.gif No rain in the forecast. A southernly breeze blowing and a good day to BBQ. Will is going to do ribbs this afternoon and I'll bake a loaf of french bread and make a green salad. After I leave here I am going to do my DVD of walking ~ still doing the warm up session but will work up to the mile. It is amazing but I can already tell the difference in my steadiness on this uneven ground outside when I walk to the car. http://www.smileycons.com/img/variety/g-purplehat.gif Will just showed me a picture of what he is going to buy me when I reach goal to put on my red roppers: A pair of Garcia heart spurs. They are silver inlaid with jinglebobs (and cost a lot!) I am going to save that picture. They are so neat looking ~ someting to work toward. FAYE:woohoo: :congrat: on that pound gone. Every ounce gone is to be celebrated. I know you are a tad dissappointed because you are a bigger looser than that normally, but dear, take it and rejoice. Losing a pound a week is a very good thing. I hope T doesn't want to go to Chuckies place. Sounds like those games you got are going to please him. He is such a smart little tyke. What a kid! I saw a sweater in a magazine that I want but ~ duh ~ I could knit it. I haven't knitted in so long but it would come back. There are so many neat yarns out there now. Everyone have a lovely weekend. Stay warm if you are in cold country. Type at you later.http://www.smileycons.com/img/critters/ducky4.gif |
