Weigh in day

Well its been an interesting week. Hubby was off the last couple days and it throws my schedule with the boys right off! I love having him home, but he doesn't get that there is a schedule I keep the kids on, and when its off...they get cranky! Oh, and plus Dylan is starting with his terrible two's temper tantrums whenever he doesn't get what he wants!:dizzy:

So all week I tried to stay on plan as much as I could. I probably could have exercised a bit more, but its over with and all I have to do this morning is deal with weigh in. I look forward to the WW meeting, but not the weigh in. I can't believe how good I've been not weighing in at home...I have stayed away from the scale this week almost completely. I guess after last week's gain, I just didn't want more disappointment.

Last night hubby asked if I wanted to go for a walk. I said sure, since I hadn't had the energy or motivation all day to do much...lol. It was snowing pretty hard and there are a lot of people that do not clear their sidewalks off very well. Normally it would not bother me, but I was pushing the stroller with the little one in it and hubby was pulling Dylan on a sled. It was good though, we live near the bottom of a small hill, so between the incline, snow and pushing the stroller for 30 minutes, it was a great workout! I was sweating by the time we got home!

Today we are heading downtown for our local Winterfest! (after my WW meeting) They have dog sled rides, and pony rides, and horse drawn wagon rides for the kids. Plus lots of things to look at like ice sculptures and huge snow slides and things like that. Its a lot of fun for the kids. We took Dylan down last year, he was just over a year, and it will be fun to take both kids down this year!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Wide in Winnipeg 02-03-2007 01:42 PM

Howdy!
We are just cleaning up the house and baking cookies today! It's colder out today so we are staying in!
Tomorrow RJ and I are going to McDoanlds for playdate and then off to look at trailers in the afternoon, should be fun, we are looking at getting a bigger trailer for the lake this year, my other one is 16 feet and I'm looking for one between 24 and 30 feet now.
have a good day!

Wide in Winnipeg 02-03-2007 04:32 PM

How did your weigh in go Anne?
So I didnt end up getting the vacuum, I bought a safe instead!! LOL! The amount of money I spent last night would have been enough for the vacuum though!
Just finishing up a 2 hour cleaning spree of Ryans room, I'm counting some of that towards the exercise points, that was alot of work!
Catch ya later!

BarrieMomof2 02-03-2007 09:26 PM

Weigh in Day

Went for the weigh in, didnt really feel like I had lost anything, but got on the scale and I was down 1.4!!!:carrot: :carrot: YAY me!!!

I'm just so happy the scale is going back in the right direction!! I really like the weight watchers program and I know I made the right decision by joining! I love that I can still have what I want and still lose weight!! So what did I do today??? Went and had a burger and fries...lol. I havent had that for a long time, so it was my treat! I allow myself to have something every Saturday that I don't get to have during the week. Kinda like my reward day. I don't over do it, but just something to treat myself. Today we were out and I decided what the heck, its not going to kill me if I have a burger and fries. Plus I counted it in today's points!

We headed downtown this morning after my weigh in and went to our Winterfest. OH MY GOSH was it COLD!!!!! Our downtown is right on our waterfront, which is on a lake. So the wind coming off the frozen lake plus the bitterly cold temperatures just made it way too cold to stay too long. Dylan and I went on a horse drawn wagon ride...he loved it. Last year he cried the whole time, so it was nice to do it this year and not have him scream...lol. Christopher is still kinda little, and I wanted to keep him bundled up in the stroller but next year he will get to go.

So tonight we are supposed to get a bad storm. We are in for anywhere from 20-30 cm (8-12 inches) of snow tonight. If its too bad in the morning we might not go anywhere and just stay home for the day!

Hope you all have a great night.

Anne

Wide in Winnipeg 02-03-2007 09:36 PM

Great job Anne!!!! More snow eh? That sucks!
It's really cold here too, they say it's going down to -41 tonight and thats not even with the windchill! Have to wait and see if thats true or not though!
Just relaxing here tonight, and taking tomorrow off exercise and diet because I seem to be frusterated with it all. It's been months since I've lost any weight and it's slowly creeping back, I'm up to 138 again, also AF is due tomorrow so that isnt helping.
Monday is the day I get serious again and I hope to see a 1 pound loss by the following Monday, wish me luck!
have a good night gals! Keep warm!

canadian mom 02-04-2007 08:43 AM

Well yesterday we went to mcdonalds. My older 2 went with my sister for the night so we took the younger 2 out. It was really windy here so we decided to go tot he mall so they could play on the playground and eat out. I had the chicken fahita meal and gave half my fries to the hubby also had diet pop so it could of been worse.

I did lunges yea-sterday for the first time in months now my butt and legs are killing me. It prbably didn't help walking around the mall for about 4 1/2 hours.
I added some points for walking not all cause it was walking around a mall but I thought I deserved something .............lol

Wide in Winnipeg 02-04-2007 10:43 AM

Morning! Freezing out there today at a balmy -51 degrees! We had plans for a playdate at McDicks but the car won't start! Crazy weather!
oh well, maybe try and get it going again in a few minutes, my poor boy needs to get out of the house, and so do I, we're going nuts cooped up here!
Have a great day gals!

Wide in Winnipeg 02-04-2007 03:43 PM

Ended up staying home today, the car wouldnt start in this weather.Looking for something interesting to do for the rest of the day.....huh..nothing to do!

sotypical 02-05-2007 01:04 PM

this weekend wasnt that great.... argh and i havent lost anything in a couple weeks now - AND im going to be out of town all week... my birthday goal is starting to look impossible

Wide in Winnipeg 02-05-2007 07:00 PM

Come on Courtnie, you can do this!!!!
Today I started really watching what I put in my yapper. I have been slacking big time the last little while. Tonights dinner in roasted chicken with brown rice and veggies and for snack a nice cup of chai tea. What do ya think?Sounds good doesnt it??!!!
Havent done ANY exercise yet today but I plan on getting on the bike and doing the ab routine tonight while RJ is in the tub.
Catch ya later!

BarrieMomof2 02-05-2007 08:32 PM

Courtnie, you have come so far, don't give up now! We believe in you!:carrot: :carrot:

Today oh my gosh is it cold!!! Its been close to -30 with the wind chill all day. We got about another 6 inches of snow last night, but luckily we live in a condo so they plow out the parking lot and shovel the sidewalks for us!
Didn't get in too much exercise but tomorrow is a new day.
We are in for another snow storm tonight! Boy I can't wait for spring to come so this snow would go away. But I guess we can't complain, we didn't have any snow up until about a month ago and normally we have it at the end of November at the latest.

Well hope you all have a good night. I am off to get kids ready for bed and then its time to head to bed myself.

ArtsyGirl 02-06-2007 08:20 AM

:coffee: :woohoo: Good news!!! My eyes are OK! I havent lost any vision from whatever happened and I do Not have glaucoma! That eases tons of worries for me. I've been told I may never know for sure what happened, but I've got a few more options of dr.s to see who might tell me more. AND...My headache is GONE!!!! The chiropractor did the trick. It is so wonderful to feel normal again. Its amazing.

The deep freeze is upon me also. Its so cold here that the schools have been cancelled today and yesterday-mainly windchill in the dangerous realm. I'm hoping my truck will start today for my appt. I need a new battery so its iffy in this cold.

Wendy-your dinner sounds really yummy.:eating2: I love chai tea also. Yesterday I had 3 nice cups of a pomegranite white tea. I think thats my favorite at the moment. I go on streaks and it changes every month.

Anne-I wish we had the snow to go along with the cold. But then I would have to go out and shovel. It'd be great exercise but awfully cold.

Courtnie-Hang in there, thingswill change soon. Do you find it harder to lose when its cold out? Comfort foods are seldom healthy, but they taste so good.

cmom-Hopr your legs are ok from all the lunges. I hate starting back to an exercise I'veavoided for to long cuz its always painful.

canadian mom 02-06-2007 09:24 AM

Brandy~ :carrot: :carrot: Great news about the eyes. I am glad your headaches are gone. My legs and butt still hurt a bit but not as bad as they did on the weekend.;)

I am falling into the comfort food trap. I eat a BIG bowl of cereal every night but the cereal is gone now so tonigh my tummy will be grumbly but I can try to break the cereal eating this week then.

Wide in Winnipeg 02-06-2007 12:53 PM

HI!
Just heading out for lunch at Moxies! I'm so pumped about having the soup and salad!! It's cream of Broccoli soup whick I'll probably change since we are supposed to stay away from creamed soups and chicken ceaser salad, I'm adding on the chicken to the salad because it's SO good!! And water to drink, I love water!!
So, anyway, thats my day in a nutshell!!LOL!
Catch ya later!!

JasonsLea 02-06-2007 06:05 PM

Brandy ~ So happy your eyes are fine!

Courtnie ~ Come on, look how far you've come! You can't give up now.

Today was WI and I am at 248....which was my revised Valentine's Day goal! YAY! So I had to revise my goal again to 246.

Oh gosh, has anyone tried the Silk Chocolate Milk? Ick! One sip was okay but I tried it in my cereal and couldn't hardly eat it! Guess I'm going to stick with regular 2% or skim milk.

Wide in Winnipeg 02-06-2007 08:36 PM

Brandy~ Thats awesome news!! And that the headache is gone is great too!
Shari~ Way to go girl!!
I had a great day so far! Clean eats and exercise and tonnes of water!Yippee!

BarrieMomof2 02-07-2007 07:27 AM

Hi all,

Just a quick note this morning to say hello!

Its another snowy day here in Ontario! We got almost a foot of snow yesterday morning, and they are calling for more again today!:o

So that means another day stuck inside with the kids! I was hoping it might warm up a little bit so I can take the kids out, but no such luck!!

But my mom is coming for a visit today, so that will be nice!
I got on the scale yesterday at home and its was showing another loss, but I won't count it until I go to my meeting and weigh in on Saturday! But I sure do like seeing some progress!!

Brandy - CONGRATS!!! I am so glad your eyes are alright and that you finally have some relief from that headache!! :carrot: :carrot:

Courtnie - Are you doing ok? Try to think of the big picture hun, you have already come so far and you know you can do it!!!

Wendy - That lunch sounded so good!

Cmom - I hope your legs are feeling better today!!

Shari - Congrats girl!!! Great Job!! :carrot: :carrot:

Have a great day everyone!

canadian mom 02-07-2007 08:58 AM

I did my old tae bo tape today for exercise I know it is only 27 mins but I am trying to switch it up some I think my body is used to the gazelle now (it is the main source of cardio for a year) so I am going to do my old tapes until I can get some new ones I hope within the next month. Friday I think I will do the advanced tape the basic was too easy.

We had a yummy breakfast this morning we had homemade pancakes. I make 3 or 4 batches at a time so we have something different and quick for breakfast and easy for supper.

Rosario 02-07-2007 10:19 AM

morning gals!!

courtnie - hope ur doing good on your business trip!

brandy- I'm so happy that ur vision is ok and that ur headache is gone. It must be a relief for ya. Way to hang in there!!

Shari -WTG on ur loss!! I'm iffy about that Silk and I haven't gotten the guts yet to try it.

Wendy - WTG on your good day!!

Anne - hope u and the kids are able to entertain yourself cooped up in the house.

canadianmom - I haven't had pancakes in forever....send me some please??

today's my weigh-in. I haven't really been eating the best foods, but over the weekend I did get killer exercise with the move and all (we still aren't finished getting our crap out of the old apt!) I have tried to be more mindful of what I am eating so that helps a bit.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I measured myself the other day. I have lost some inches!! 4" off my waist and 3.5" off my bust. I don't know why or how but the measuring tape says so!!! That has been the highlight of my week so far!!!

Have a great day gals!!!

Wide in Winnipeg 02-07-2007 12:16 PM

Rosario~ You ROCK girl!!
Everyone is doing so well! I'm so proud of you all!!!
I'm just sitting here eating my WW cereal, it's the almond crisp, any one try it?I'm not to sure if it yet, kinda funky.
Not really up to much today, maybe go look at some trailers, depends on if I can get the tire up since it went flat again.
Catch ya later ladies!!

ArtsyGirl 02-07-2007 12:50 PM

Hi gals, glad to hear everyone is doing well. I took my sis and the kids to get her van fixed and to an appt. and then some shopping this morning. My afternoon is free and then I gotta work tonight. One of my piano students gave us a treadmill over the weekend. My husband is so happy because he wants to run a half marathon early March and its been to cold to run outside for enough training. Now he'll be able to do it. I actually might go run on it some today just to get moving again.

Rosario-Thats a terrific amount of inches lost! You must be so happy. Hope your weigh in reflects the good news.

Wendy-Hope you get your tire fixed. Car problems are the pits. I did get my battery changed yesterday so I didnt end up stranded anywhere.

cmom-I havent done my TaeBo since I got TurboJam. Maybe I should pull it out once in awhile. I made myself whole wheat waffles yesterday and they were yum.

Shari-Great job on the loss and reaching your goal early enough to revise it TWICE!!!! Cant stand any soy milk, but I'm very allergic to soy so that figures.

Anne-Hope you have a nice visit with your mom. Must be a little frustrating being cooped up for so long.

Wide in Winnipeg 02-07-2007 03:23 PM

Good afternoon,
Just checking in quickly here so I can catch up.
Just got news that I have to go for another CT scan on the 17th then in March for a carotid ultrasound, yippee, sounds like real fun don't you think?
I hope I can get some answers out of this now, I'm tired of not feeling well.
Off to get on the bike for awhile, catch yas!!

ArtsyGirl 02-08-2007 08:02 AM

Wendy-hope your testing goes well. I cant imagine having to wait until March just to have the tests. I dont want to sound horrible, but I hope the testing might show something so you may be treated correctly and receive relief from your pain and sleeplessness. I know how frustrating it is to get no answers.

Did I tell you all how wonderful it is to NOT have a headache!? Life is so much better the past few days. So, I go to the neurologist tomorrow and will probably get more tests scheduled. I guess they are looking to see if vascularly there are more clots up in my brain area. I thought the MRI would have shown any but I guess you need an MRA to see them. I've never heard of that test til a week ago. I'll also need to have more bloodwork done to see whats going on with the one protein level. Please keep me in your thoughts/prayers.

Ro-How was your weigh in?? Sorry your move is not finished. I'm sure that is adding some stress to your life. How do you like your new place? Hope all is well.

Well, busy day for me. I'm getting my hair done, and then I've gotta go do some accompanying for a school. Unfortunatly the hair salon and the school are about an hours drive away from each other. Lots of truck time today. Oh well, it'll give me time to think.

See ya'all later.

canadian mom 02-08-2007 09:15 AM

The break from the same old exercise yesterday was nicand made today's exercise easier to get throught (had to take a break halfway through Aurora pooped her pants lol). I think my sister has finally set a wedding month ,not sure about date, in stone. She has been saying December, so I have until December to lose my weight. She has also put off trying for a baby until they are married (wants to look good in her dress lol).

does anyone have a link to finding your frame size all I find is the one that goes by your wrist but the one that goes by your elbow is supposed to be more accurate. I found one once but have had no luck lately.

Rosario 02-08-2007 01:10 PM

hey guys!

I only lost 0.2 pounds yesterday, but I'm taking it just as long as I don't gain. I'm back on track for the week. Although, I did go a little crazy with snacks yesterday and used up 14 flex points. Eek....I'm sure you aren't supposed to use them like that but I'll be happy with myself just as long as I count all my points for the entire week without going over my daily points and without using more than my 35 FP. I have yet to have a week where I count points every single day. I figure I might as well start acting like I am on weight watchers.

canadianmom - wtg on making ur workout easier. ur lucky to be in a wedding. I think that is excellent motivation. I have no clue about finding ur frame size.

brandy - I'm so glad ur feeling sooo much better. Have fun at your hair appointment (I am waaaaay overdue for one!!)

wendy - hope ur tests go well and you get the anwers you're looking for. hang in there!

chat with ya later!!!

canadian mom 02-08-2007 01:39 PM

i found a site for my frame size but I don not about the body fat % it says I am about 20% and another site says 30%. Man it is hard to find the right sites to go by.

4me4ben4will 02-08-2007 01:43 PM

Just curious how the BTB game works and whether or not I can join?

ArtsyGirl 02-08-2007 03:55 PM

4me4ben4will-We keep track on the points thread. We get points for eating healthy meals that fall within our individual meals (we all do different thing)s), getting in the daily recommended amount of water, and more points for exercise. We dont penalize for bad behavior, just reward for good. You can go to the points thread and see point values in the first post.

This thread is to support each other and discuss life in general. You can join us anytime. There's a great group of ladies here and they're all very supportive. We're all in different stages of the weight loss process which allows for LOTS of knowledge.

Hope ya come back and let us know a little about yourself.

Welcome!

cmom-my scale does body fat %, but I'm not sure how accurate it is. I haven't used that function in awhile either so I'm not sure where I stand. For body fat, the skinfold test is pretty accurate if you can find someplace that does it. (had it done once way back in college.)

Ro-great job on the loss!! Stay away from those flex points!

canadian mom 02-08-2007 04:54 PM

i don't know if the skinfold test would work as I have alot of loose skin (I didn't take care of myself well with my first pregnacy).

4me here is the link
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103301

points~
Exercise: 1 point for every 30 minutes of exercise(half points allowed)
Water: 2 points for every half gallon/2 litres/64 oz.
Meals: 2 points for every healthy meal depending on your chosen plan
Snacks: 1 point for every healthy snack

Because some of us eat 3-5 smaller meals a day, the first 3 will count as meals and the rest as snacks

Wide in Winnipeg 02-08-2007 05:50 PM

You girls ROCK!!!
4me4ben4will~ Welcome to our crazy group! I personally love these girls on here!
Had a good day! I jumped on the scale and I'm down 1.5 pounds!! Yippeee! Of course it doesnt count until I have my official weigh in.
Went and bought a 28.5 foot travel trailer today, I'm now all pumped up to go camping for the season! i might be away more this year so I'm just giving you a warning now! LOL!
Off to make dinner, catch ya later!

ArtsyGirl 02-09-2007 07:33 AM

Morning gals,

I'm off to the neurologist this morning. Wish me luck. I am very sick of seeing drs., but if this one can explain what happened and what we'll do to prevent it from happening again then its worth the trouble.

Wendy-I'm so jealous of your trailer. We still go tent camping (of course we have no little ones to worry about!). I usually love it, but we've been poured on a few times and thats not so much fun. We're also planning lots of camping/kayaking trips since thats all we can afford this year after Hawaii last year. Cant wait for it to warm up and the adventures to start.

Courtnie-glad to see ya around. Hows your headache?

cmom-I've got a lot more skin than I did when the test was done on me. I was 19 years old and 18% body fat. THose were the days. I'd be embarrassed to have the test done now.

Happy Friday all. Have a good one.

canadian mom 02-09-2007 11:19 AM

Well I braved the cold and went to the dollarstore to do valentine shopping, well got the chocolate for the kids and Kat's class is having a 'secret valentine' so I had to get 5 gifts. Then we walked to the grocery store (just down the street from the dollarstore) and picked up a few things so we can have supper tonight.I will have to go back this weekend or the first of the week cause the hubby didn't get his full pay yesterday.I did get my exercise in before I went.

Brandy~I hope your appointment goes well
Wendy~ I want a rv so we can go camping...........

sotypical 02-09-2007 11:32 AM

brandy
no headache, sore throat though for screaming at people in the bar to talk to them, haha

this company called media tempale put on this pary, it was a pretty big deal I guess... anyway our estimated cost guess for them is in the 5 digits, they close a bar all night, and you could just drink all night for free

one downfall... i went to be around 3 and the maid just knocked on my door to clean my room... at 8:30m like wtf?

anyway it was my awesome, but i think this will be another week of no loss... im trying to decided if i go exercise but im thinking sitting in the hot tub for an hour might be more fun lol

Rosario 02-09-2007 01:14 PM

courtnie - did u say u were drunk on ur last post?? glad ur having fun at ur conference!

canadianmom - aww, I miss all that valentine day nonsense....yknow, the candies, classroom parties, etc. I can't wait to have kids and do that stuff with them.

brandy - i bet u'd be happy never having to see another doctor again!! my bf loves tent camping. We might go camping this year up in northern california in august with my mom and her bf. It looks like lots of fun!!

wendy - no fair, you went to the lake with the trailer last year!!!! lol

Well, I am very proud of myself. I went to Taco Bell/Pizza Hut for lunch (had to pick up something for my bf) and all I had was 1 soft taco!! I ate that and made a black bean salad at home. All for 8pts!! it was pretty filling too. The big test will be tonite, though. We're going to Shogun and I really can't control myself around Japanese food. I have my meal planned but the trick is sticking to it. :crossed:

Wide in Winnipeg 02-09-2007 04:07 PM

HELLOOO!!!
Courtnie~ I wanna get drunk too!!!! Glad you don't have a hangover!

Brandy~ How did it go today at the neurologists? I had a friend of the family stop in for tea last night and his wife just died in Dec of a anurysium(sp?), scary because she symptoms were kind of like what I get but I have tempory loss of vision and she didnt.

CMOM~ I LOVE Buckerama!!! (Dollerama) I got a bunch of stuff there for my scrapbooking for Valentines Day!
Ro~ HI!!!You won't see this till Monday!!LOL!
Yes, I also love camping out in a tent but it's not a good idea with RJ still being so small. Now I have the luxury of a large RV so I'll never go back! LOL!In the spring I'm going to sell the 16 footer and get some money back! And I'm selling the boat, maybe to get a bigger one..????HAHAHA!!!
Have a great weekend!

Wide in Winnipeg 02-09-2007 06:28 PM

Anne, Lazy, My own Sab, where are you!!!!????

BarrieMomof2 02-09-2007 09:19 PM

Hi guys!

Sorry, I was having computer problems...ended up having to get another laptop, and so I was without internet for a couple days!!

Been a crazy week full of snowfalls! We have had snow everyday since last Monday!!

http://picasaweb.google.com/BarrieMo...28124287039410

This is our backyard area. This was early in the week and we have had another 6-8 inches more since then!!! Its crazy. So we've been stuck inside most of the week.

Well tomorrow is weigh in!!! Earlier this week I think I had lost so tomorrow we will see! I'm hoping for the best. I didn't exercise enough this week so if its not good, I know where I went wrong! Sunday we are going out for dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday. We probably will end up going to Swiss Chalet or East Side Mario's...I'm hoping for Swiss Chalet! Its much more WW friendly!!

Well all, glad to finally get back online. I will catch up with reading all the posts tomorrow...its time to get the kids to bed...Dylan has been REALLY HYPER tonight...so hopefully he will be tired out and go to bed without any problems!

Have a great weekend!!
Anne

Wide in Winnipeg 02-09-2007 09:26 PM

Yep, thats alot of snow! We had that a few weeks ago so I know how it feels! Whats the temperature like there? Mild considering the snow?
We are at the point where we think `36 is warm after a week of `50 temps! LOL!
Going to bed early tonight, catch ya all tomorrow!
Good Luck with your weigh in Anne!
Rosario~ When is your weigh in day? Wednesdays?

ArtsyGirl 02-10-2007 06:40 AM

Morning all, I'm up and ready for my day of accompanying the kidlings. Hope most of them do ok. I am pretty sure I have 2 that wont, but hope the rest do.

Dr.s appt was just more waiting. They say I "might" have had a TIA "mini stroke". She also found that in my yearly blood work from Sept. I have a mild B12 deficiency that my family dr. never informed me of. Basically the first week of March they'll do more blood work to see if the Protein C level is still off, and see if I'm absorbing the B12 I'm to start taking. They're also running a few more test levels, but not really sure what they're for. If the Protein C level is still low then I'll have to see a hematologist for further info. Its so frustrating the whole "wait and see" if you have a clotting problem. What if I do and I have another problem during the "waiting" period? Its awful scary to me.

Anne-Good luck at your weigh in today. We still dont have much snow. I wish we had enough to go sledding, but not quite after it all blew around earlier in the week.

Wendy-I know what you mean about hearing people who have had the same symptoms as you that ended in death. I've had 2 people in the last week share stories with me who didn't even know what I've been going through. It sounds like we'll both be waiting for test results around the same time in March. At least we'll be a good support system for each other.

Courtnie-I just might get a bit drunk tonight at a wedding reception. Depends on if I can bribe someone to drive me home. I think I would've chewed that maid out if she'd woken me up. Sounds like you had a great party. Glad your conference included that for ya.
