Happy New Year Everyone!
I am 33, divorced, with 2 kids. Austin (8) and Madison (5). I live with my kiddos and my bf. I work in healthcare/information systems. Goals for 2007: 1. Loose 65 lbs. 2. Drink more water. 3. Well my livingroom looks bare! Just got rid of the tree, Ryan was sad saying that this was the best Christmas tree he ever had and then we had to get rid of it! AWWW, coming from a 3 year old it was so cute!Now all I have to do is vacuum and change things around a little and it'll be back to normal! Yippee!! Need more drugs, this cold is getting worse by the hour, better get back on that bike before I get to ill! Colleen~ Yippee! Congrats on that pound!!! I don't know if anyone noticed that I changed my goal weight, but almost everyone I know have said that I look better now than when I wa 125lbs so I'm going to just try for 130, I think I'd be happy with my weight as it is right now but I'm so jiggly! LOL!Must tone up!! Must tone up!! |

Guess i will introduce myself. I am 15 and am so determined to lose weight this year! I have been stuck at 150 for 3 months, so im working hard to get past this darn plateau. My goals for 2007: ~loose 20 pounds ~Stop procrastinating ~Stop drinking soda ~Finish the school year with a 4.0 ~ummm....thats all for right now Good luck everyone!! Happy New Year!! |
100%~ Those pesky plateaus are killer! I was on one for about 8 months, right around the 150lbs mark also! I actually went back to eating junk food for a couple weeks and forgot all about diet/ exercise and whatever then when I started up again I started loosing the weight! Now I'm not recommending that, I'm just telling you my story! LOL! I think you'll like it here,everyone is very supportive!

Shari - there are jobs in my field but not as many as say.... mcdonalds, haha. They are more jobs in different areas, where I live there are not many, but if I moved (and not even that far) they are more jobs. I make decent money, but would make more if I moved (but my living expensive would also be much higher in a larger city). I do not work from home, I work in office :)
So far I dunno about this slim fast thing... im kinda hungry... anyway, I am going to try and stick to it for a month.... its just to help me keep my calories lower. I don't wanna f-up my metoblism tho, so I told myself im not allwoed to go any lower then 1300... (and no higher then 1600) do you guys think that is okay? I seriously don't wanna screw my body up!!! I just figure if I keep it lower to lose a bit faster and then slowly raise when I reach goal weight... lots of people do that, but I dunno how low is okay.., |
Courtnie...I always thought with doing things like Slim Fast...you can loose a lot of weight, with less calories, but once you start eating food again or a balanced diet, you will gain. Not sure...just don't want you to set yourself up for failure.

okay so i did some math....
- 1550 calories a day and I lose 1 pounds a week - so if I lower that to 1300ish (no lower!!) I will lose a bit fast - and I shouldn't screw up my matoblism - at goal weight, I should be able to eat 1900 cals a day to maintain The whole idea is that you decrease your matience calories enough to lose - so why does everyone say you gain you back with slim fast? I guess that's because people go back to eating the way they were? |
I was doing 1300 cals for the longest time and it's because I binged that I gained weight back. Now I stick to 1600 cals a day, I'm thinking about going down to 1400 but I love my food to much!!!
Courtnie~ are you using the Slim Fast bars also? Maybe you'd get more out of them than the shake, at least you'll feel like you are eating something because you get to chew it! LOL! |

Yep, 50ish pounds sure makes a difference! LOL! I have jammies that are size 1X and they won't stay up! LOL!
My friend that lives by you has this awesome ring made out of firestone, I think it was either made in Naniamo or in Powell River, it's awesome! There is a woman who makes them herself,I'm going to send him a cheque to have one made for myself! Your doing great Courtnie! |

Courtnie ~ I was thinking of adding Slimfast to my plan too. Probably a shake for breakfast ya know? I try to eat every three hours so I should be okay. |
