I've lost 26 lbs. since the middle of September. Some of it I worked hard at, some of it is b/c I no longer remember to eat. It's a strange phenomena. Peachie, I thought you'd be losing weight b/c the leetle children have children's table manners, which translates into not too appetizing.

I babysat Kayden (who we now call Kaydy, of course you knew that would happen) this morning. She is an amazingly beautiful baby, and of course, extremely intelligent. Of course. ----I've sent DS off to a 4 day personal enrichment seminar. Supposed to help him develop leadership skills and stress coping methods. He has been thrown into huge responsibilities and I'm hoping this will help him. He is doing amazing things - 23 yrs old and he's being the supervisor on the glass in a new Honda dealership, commercial projects, etc. He's his Daddy's son, that's for sure.

DD is going back to school starting next week. She's going into a 2 yr program for X-ray Tech. She was going to put it off, but I talked her into starting now. She needs to keep herself busy.

We're all just hanging in there.

Sounds like you're hanging in there really good, Wabbo. Impressive about BOTH your kids. Mine just got to lcp's school with no phone charger which translates into "MOM STOP CALLING ME>"

Quiet here.

Posting for Peaches

Peachy - I say full refund or a new chest comparable to the display model, NOTHING in between. I can't believe what some people try to get away with. Customer service? Pfffffft.

 Oh Wabs, it's so good to hear that you are all moving forward in such a postive way. This is going to be a learning experience for everyone.

I have lost 10 lbs since I don't know when and am about to exercise (right after I finish off these M&Ms). Sick and tired of being fat and tired. I saw Supersize Me a while ago and found it very, very scary.

Later on today we're going to IKEA to buy some lamps for the new kitchen. That means we'll come back with a whole truckload of other stuff we don't need. Whoo.

Christmas stuff is still up. Bleh. Will tackle that this weekend.

yesssssss wabby,it's hard to remember to eat. I do remember the knot that just sits there and the food does too. You are smart to keep those kids of yours busy.Of course, being such sweet kids, they are keeping their eyes on you as well.WE are glad you are posting so we can keep track of you too!!Busyness certainly helps and "Kaydy" may be the best medicine of all.----------

Bagzz 01-05-2007 07:48 AM

oh yes!!! peachers, under NO circumstances are you to take a deal on the chest--it's either a NEW chest that looks just the way you wanted it,or your CASH back!!!!and don't waver on it---they usually bow to that behaviour---at least Sears used to around here!!---SUGAR!!! you lost ten pounds ,you BRAT!!!! and peachers FOUR!!!!well,i can't believe i havn't gained TEN with all the CRAP i have been eating---and it's making me FEEL like crap as well====last night i ate about a half of a leftover pumpkin pie for supper---this has to STOP for sure, but i am not ready yet---i feel like i have one more batch of shortbreads to eat.--------------dd22 is now living in Scandinavia and she loves it---she went to the Ikea to get her room all fixed up----she hardly brought anything over with her as it's too expensive---just clothes and computer and necessities. She seems to be having quite a time---i am very happy for her,but am a nervous wreck as she speaks of driving a bike everywhere---apparently EVeryone drives bikes EVERYWHERE,so she must as well!!!----the shop here at the market is soooooooo dull,i am telling you i wish i could close down for the winter---it's sooooooo boring---i have my niece working in there, but obviously i have to hang there at SOME point--i only like working when it's BUSY!!!--------------last day of school break here--i am ready for STRUCTURE AND I WOULD LIKE TO THROW OUT HALF THE HOUSE!!!

Cowpernia 01-05-2007 08:38 AM

After all the grief DS gave me about the tables that he wanted to sell, he left ALL The CRAP he can sell here. There's his old Tae Kwon Do gear and an unused set to swimming flippers or whatever they're called. Still Here. They're big and they're in my little house. ANNDDDD he didn't bring a cell phone charger so he's out of charge and driving up and down Florida with his mother unable to reach him.

Now I will complain about this woman at work. She has a title other than cleaning woman but she is the woman who cleans. And she does a lot of other stuff. And she's grouchy. And I feel like I work for her a lot of the time. And she's close personal friends with the center director (which seems to gain her little in terms of job responsibilities) and is a tattle tale. For the first part of the day I help in the lunchroom where she also helps and she bosses me around. I can live with this. But in the afternoon I have my little class and this week, she's assigned to be in there and she's STILL BOSSIGN ME and the kids. Two little kids are banging on this wooden doll house with plastic hammers and she grumpily snatches them away. Little plastic hammers. Little noises. Old hag.

LCP made a big batch of chocolate chip muffins and left them here for me to eat so I will quickly put my 4 lbs back on.

You can't bring a container of decent food with you to eat at the table? I think you should just defy them and bring it anyway. If the kids saw you eating healthy food, maybe they'd aspire to it too. Tell them you're allergic to crap. Or something a little more politic. Seriously, you could tell them you have a medical condition that requires you to avoid fried and creamed foods or something. That is true, don't you think?

I'm with Bagz, you should tell them you will not be keeping this chest under any circumstances. You'll have to be prepared to not have one, but if you inform them that they can either exchange it for a real one or give you your money back, I don't see how you can lose. It's incredible that they think you will put up with substandard furniture.

Gotta go shoot skeet in the rain. Welcome to my world.
