mia - I'm not sure if everyone is talking about the same challenge, but there is a valentines challenge thread...

http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...t=99469&page=1

no real rules, just set a goal for valentines day

I like setting holiday goals, I had a new years goal and got that on 12/17, now valentines, and then probably st patty's or easter.

fruit packed in water. Fresh is usually better, then frozen (loose pack) then canned. I usually dont see fruit packed in water, I see fruit packed in JUICE. They dont add additional sugar, but regardless of what kind of fruit it is they almost always use pear juice which is very sweet. Most of the time it isnt much different then "packed in light syrup". I still use fresh or frozen most of the time and canned only for convenience. If I use canned I drain the liquid and sometimes even do a light rinse.

Have been battling life in general. Have been trying to keep up with the exercise challenge that I have messed up on but trying to get back along with the diet after the holiday of christmas. I really messed up during that time. Going camping tomorrow for two days riding motorcycles. Hopefully tha will burn some calories. I have been eating less all together, staying busy, and watching the amount of water and salt intake. Hopefully it will make a difference. Talk to you when i'm back from camping. Lori

Hello! I hope everyone has a wonderful New Years Eve!:) Our big movie, junkfood and gameboard will start later today. The kids are so excited! I took them all to the store yesterday and let them pick out what they wanted. We walked out with $70 of junk food!! The kids were in heaven and they think it will be the coolest time. Obviously we don't do this a lot thank goodness.:dizzy:

Today we are going to the mall. I need some work clothes but I really want to lose a few pounds before purchasing any. I thought it might motivate me to try on some things to get my butt in gear. Anyone else ever do that? Years ago I worked in the mall and I would go try on this really cool pair of jeans that were too small like once a week just to remind myself that I needed to lose weight.:D

Loveandlaugh - Have a great time on the motorcycles!
Sharon - I hope you feel better today. :)
miafluker - I think canned fruit is a lot healthier than so many other choices out there. Of course fresh is better, but it isn't always available and out of season can be really expensive! Just try to get the natural juice.;)
Jasmine - I hope life is going well. :)

Okay ladies so the family is home and I have been super busy with them. I will get to personals either tomorrow or Tuesday! For those of you still losing or maintaining well done! For those of you being "bad" it is okay and we will kick this into high gear starting tuesday! Don't fret! It is a new year and we will lose lots of weight next year!!! :D

V~day!! We will start the challenge on Tuesday and I was thinking lets start a new thread for the week tomorrow since it is the new year and do an official weigh in and goals etc. As far as rules the rules are to eat healthy, avoid extra junk like candy and sweets. If eating out is in your menu plan then great, it's in mine! ;) But to keep it to once a week and try to keep on your program whether it is cal counting or weight watchers, atkins, etc. Just basically eat healthy limit the bad stuff and exercise! Also we all need to make it a goal to eat more fruits and veggies.

That is all for now! Happy new years to everyone almost!!! Is anyone doing anything special tonite?

miafluker 12-31-2006 01:49 PM

Jasmine31 that challenge sounds great i can live with those rules as far as tonight i may drink a few beers or wine i had a famous new orleans daquri friday and was so hung over by 1 drink the next morning i swore no more liquor for a while even on new years.
How is everyone doing today?

Canuk4 12-31-2006 04:25 PM

Happy New Year!!! to everyone. It is cold out today and windy here, but no snow, thank-goodness. Trying to make sure all bills and things for 2006 are all caught up, have to make new files for 2007. Starting the challenge on Tues. sounds good Jasmine. Now I just have to set my goals, that should be interesting, need some more thought on that. (Delaying tactic???)

I thought fresh fruit was best, then frozen, then canned and I rinse that really well. Just thought I would add my two cents.

LoveandLaugh, hope you do enjoy your camping, had to take a look to see where you from, when I saw that. I am sure you will lose doing that and will have started the New Year off great.

Stopeating, thanks but I still feel down today, dh is more interested in hockey than us and it is really starting to get to me. Tired of watching tv alone every night, while he watches hockey or rents himself a movie, usually the kind I don't like, he watches them first anyhow to see if I will like it or not, then lets me see it on my own. A lot is bothering me, not a great way to start the New Year. Worried about my son's relationship as well! And I can't stand when family say's they will do one thing, then for there own selfishishness do another. Tomorrow will be better I know, right now I think I will just go back to bed and bury my head.

To the rest of you I wish you and yours a very Happy New Year, lots of love and laughter now and through the New Year.
Sharon

Sharon hang in there. I'm sorry it is so frustrating right now. A very good friend told me once to stop worrying about things that I can not change and I think about it often. It is not easy but I do remind myself of that when I worry about my parents and their finances and my friends and their marriages, etc. I'm always stressing about things I have no control over. So I just keep repeating that phrase and it feels like a weight has been lifted. Maybe it would work for you.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year!!

So if eating candy is IN our program can we keep it? ;) I am proud to say I have eaten chocolate almost every single day since I started this program and I dont plan to stop now!

We are having friends over for new years. I bought GOOD champagne this year. I figure as seldom as I have alcohol, if I am going to use up some calories on it it should be good stuff, not cheap crap. I use that philosophy for beer, dessert and chocolate, champagne should not be different.

Tonight will probably be a bit high for calories just because of staying up so late. I get really hungry when I am up past my bedtime.

There's already a V-day challenge in the challenge forum. Just a head's up.

stopeating 01-01-2007 08:16 AM

Good Morning! As you can probably guess, I am an early riser. :) My family is all asleep, but they did manage to stay awake and watch the ball drop. We had a really good time.

I am so excited to begin a new year.:) My family and I wrote down our New Year's resolutions last night and read them out loud. I am going to keep them and we will read them again next year to see how we did. They thought that sounded really cool!!

I have made several challenges to myself so I'm going to have a lot of work to do. My newest ticker is 1200 hours of exercise for the month of January. :dizzy: I know I can do it if I make it my priority though!

Calejo 01-01-2007 10:58 AM

Hi all! I did my officiall weigh-in today and I'm at 177 lbs. now! OMG! I think it's all due to TOM finally being over. In any case, I'm very excited and glad to see the results.

miafluker 01-01-2007 11:08 AM
