Small group is tonight, so I am fixing dinner for it. I did not get much done today. I feel kind of lazy. :)
Dinner tonight will be beef enchiladas, guacamole salad and refried beans. ( yep, I had beans leftover last night! :s: ) I hope I get the chance to check in after the group leaves. If not, sweet dreams, everyone! |

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!
I survived my first two days of "THE NEW BOSS" !!! The meeting went well, good comunication..She give us all of her expectations and her rules, and basically, it's rules that have been in place all along. My other Boss pretty much left the 8 of us alone...she knew we were self sufficient and as long as we got our work done, that's all that mattered. She played by the rules, but isn't one to "write people up" unless absolutele necessary, and this one is QUEEN OF WRITING PEOPLE UP! NO BREAKS.....NADA!!! WOO IS BOB!!!! I'm still mulling all of this over, so sorry for no replies tonight, but I'll be better tomorrow.... BOB |
The group has gone home. The couple that comes brings their 15 month old son, Otis. Man was he cute tonight. I got several hugs from him. :D He is beginning to talk, and its just so much fun watching him grow! Tonight was probably our last meeting until even as late as September. There is just too much going on, and we lost a few of the less committed members. Its ok with me, as I am tired, and would enjoy the break.
It has finally started raining here. Hallelujah! I hope it will do away with the pollen for the year. Too bad its dark and I can't see the yellow river of pollen washing away on the street! Dinner tonight was two enchiladas- one beef, one cheese, refried beans, and guacamole salad. The tortillas I used with corn, so I was BAD! Naughty Monet! And tomorrow morning is WIW! How smart is that? Time for me to go to bed! I am pretty tired! Night everyone! Sweet dreams! |
Hello everyone--
Today was pretty busy, as we took my Aunt and Uncle, and Grandma to the airport. Wish it was me flying to Hawaii!! Had a horrible surprise when we got up this morning, as the float ball in the toilet had broke so there was water all over the floor. I hate floods!! Good thing we were going to town. Stopped at Home Depot after going to the airport. Got the replacement parts and some more paint tape. (This makes my 8th roll!!) I will finish my painting in the morning. Dh has a Dr appointment so will have him take down the blinds before he leaves. We also stopped at Walmart for my Mom's birthday presents. And then the Fresh Market. So it was a day of errands. We pulled up the carpet in one half of our bedroom before I started painting. We had some really bad floor squeaks. Thought we could fix it from the top, but dh had to climb under the house to get rid of them. Anyway, since half of it is already gone (this was at one time two bedrooms, but the old bat that we bought the place from had removed a wall to make it one big room) we decided to put down some laminate flooring. I think it will look wonderful with the wood floors. Did some looking at Home Depot today and will have to choose soon. My Uncle that we took to the airport is going to come over when he gets back and help us install it. He is a very good carpenter and handy man. Can't wait. We are taking a mini vacation to Winnamuca Nevada in May. We will be going with my oldest son, Brant and his girlfriend, and two sets of my Aunts and Uncles. Should be alot of fun. We will ride a bus down, and spend 4 days and 3 nights. It is $85 per person and that includes round trip bus, motel, and fun package with discount coupons. Ted and I have done this once before and had a blast!! Todays menu was pretty good, had a few SF candies while we were on the road, but nothing illegal. B--1/2 grapfruit before 2 mile walk 1/2 c Fiber One, 1/4 c FF milk, cinnamon, 1 Splenda, Lite 85 yogurt. snack-- apple L-- Arby's Low Carby Turkey and Swiss minus the mayo snack-- 4 SF Russell Stover Peanutbutter cups D-- Rotisserie roast beef with dinner salad, 2 T Lite Bleu Cheese dressing, 1/2 c sf pudding. dessert-- small slice of LC chocolate peanut butter chiffon pie......(left over from Christmas......been frozen in the freezer) Monet-- Sorry to hear your allergies are getting dosed with pollen. It will be a good while before we suffer that around here. It has been cold and rainy since the first day of spring. Was gorgeous in Feb. though....go figure! Jackie-- I am sorry that your daughters closing fell through. Maybe it is a sign that an even better offer is in the making. :crossed: Hopefully it will sale very fast. Sebray--I know you can get that paper done!! I am sure your son knows that "Mommies make mistakes too". (That was one of my favorite books when my boys were growing up!!) Keng-- What a surprise to see you posting again.....hope that all is going well and that you are past most of your morning sickness. Country-- The new pic is fabulous!! You look great, why do you keep hiding from us?? Pancho--The pups are doing good. Buddy is using his leg full time now, and Jo is a dancing and a prancing each night at 8:00 when she wants her "Papa" to give her some ice cream!! The house does look great and now I think I can stand it for a few more years. LOL. Sounds like you are still the busy little bee. Potty training, Dr appointments, Mom's Club, etc..... I envy you your energy!! Cindy-- Glad to see you are still here. How's it going?? BOB-- See you all tomorrow! |
Wiw!
Good Weigh In Wednesday morning!
I hopped on the one eyed monster this morning. I was up 3.5 pounds since last WIW, which is good! Last WIW I was just finishing up my fast, so if 3.5 is all I am going to gain back, that is totally cool. I am still down 13.5...I'll take it! I slept fine last night...not as good as I would like, as I woke up twice, but I felt more rested. It would have been fine except I woke up abruptly when my poor husband could not find his wallet and started freaking out about it. He just can't handle mornings. :dunno: I think he needs a vacation! :s: I hope everyone of you are big losers today! :crossed: :) |
Just a quick check in/weigh in. Up a half pound after a couple days of madness. I've been really bad with eating, but drinking about a 100 oz of water and excercising pretty well to compensate.
C-yas!! |
Good morning all,
It is a beautiful sunny morning. Hope everyone have a good weigh-in. Yesterday was an unproductive day so hope today will be better. Oh, I just found out my good friend has given birth to her daughter, Chloe. I saw their pics yesterday and boy, the little baby is cute as a button. It makes me want to have mine asap...lol. My menu : Breakfast : 2 medium ww pancakes with Agave and 1 scrambled egg with cheese. Snack : Fruit and nuts. Lunch : Baked or pan-seared cod/basa fish with stir-fry pasta with chinese veggies. Might add another veggie too. Snack : Fruit, nuts and maybe 1/2 cup of milk. Dinner : Not exactly sure yet. Some replies : PANCHO : Hope your appointment with your new OBGYN and the women health trainer goes well. It is very important to feel comfortable in whatever you decide. Yes, I have heard and infact tried Fuze drink once few weeks ago when Jess and I was doing some shopping. We were so thirsty and I was craving for something refreshing to drink and I stumbled on Fuze drinks. It was good and most of all, it is not sweeten with corn syrup but fructose, and lots of vitamins too. I drank a little and saved most of it for later so I can dilute it when I get home. With some ice and some water for dilution, it tasted even better since I can't take too sweet anymore but it is not advisable for me to drink too much "sweetness" anyway. Definitely a good fine and a treat for me :) How do you like the drinks? Jess enjoyed her dancing/music class a lot. Anywhere there are kids, she will enjoy...lol. Jess really enjoy going to school and 2 days a week is really a good start for her and me. She have always told me that she doesn't have much friends and being at school really gave her a sense of belonging and perhap doing something important. Her school's environment is very friend'y and at this age, they are having a lot of fun while studying. She have learnt so much from being in school just for that short few months. For her personality (hyper, active, agressive, strong-willed), she is learning to pay more attention to others, take instructions better, responsibility and most importantly, structure. There are things that are negative that she picked up from other kids but the good so far has out-weighed the bad. I am also not doing a good job in teaching her at home either so preschool has been a good thing for us especially seeing how much she enjoys it. I, on the other hand LOVES the time that I have to myself when she is at school for that 3 hours. I think being away from her gives me a room to breathe and I am able to enjoy her better when she comes home...lol. I love running errands (shopping etc) when she is at school...lol. As far as the tuition goes, I am glad we found a reasonable price preschool for her, much affordable for us. I also enquired from other preschools (some are daycare setting) but was shocked how expensive they are. Jess is in a church preschool which I prefer. Next school year, she gets to learn Spanish. I am excited for her since she already know some Spanish words. TONI : Hello!! Hope you have a good day today. SARAH : I have no idea how those of you who work outside of home does it either. I can only imagine how hard it is to work and care for your family as well. Salute! MONET : Mexican food is one cruisine that I have not pick up on. I don't mind eating it but haven't had the urge to eat it much. Your menu for church sounds yummy. Jess loves her class very much. It's a 45 mins class only and the parents get to participate in the last 15 mins. I usually just wait around her classroom and chat with the other parents/guardians etc to get to know them. TECH : Glad you are back on track :) CINDY : When I was a teenager, my sisters and I could sleep until noon if my mom permitted us...lol. With Jess in my life, I woke up early automatically whether I feel like it or not. I am actually surprise that I can change my sleeping habit...lol. Dh is a steak lover and when he craves for a good steak, he sometimes ended up buying a big hugh hunk of meat like fillet mignon. Buying an individual piece is very pricey so sometimes he bought a hugh tenderloin and cut it into smaller portion which is much cheaper. Dh is famous for his steaks among our friends and family so whenever we have steaks, it is always at home. I have tried steaks at some restaurant but somehow prefer my dh's:) COUNTRY : My nextdoor neighbor is from Louisiana and she lend me this Louisiana Encyclopedia (all the history of the state) and also all the famous dishes from the state as well. All I can say is....yum...yum...yum. My neighbor is a good cook so I know I will love Louisiana cooking. Infact, I am going to try some recipes in the book. I have yet to try crawfish but it looks quite like shrimp to me, probably a little "tougher" than shrimp? I LOVE shrimp and like lobster so I know I will like it...lol. I wish I can go over to your place for some crawfish...lol. Oh, I am all for flavourful food as well. I grew up in a country where the foods are very highly spiced...from different races. I mean...really strong spice that might scare many away...lol. I love it. I do enjoy light dishes especially homecook food from my mom too. TEENSY : Hello there...I have missed you too. Looks like you have been very busy but I am always glad to hear from you. I am so sorry about your SIL. {{{hugs}} Yes, I am feeling much better and much like myself now. Glad to be back posting on a regular basis. JACK : I am sorry the sale of your dd's house didn't materialize. Hope another buyer will surface soon. Definitely try grilling eggplant, the texture and flavour is yummy! SARAH : School can be quite a stressful environment for kids. It is such a competitive place and chaotic as well...lol, especially at preschool level which my dd is at. SEBRAY : Yahh....I am happy for you. Must be a big relief to finish off a big assignment. BOB : Glad you survived your new boss so far. Hope the new boss goes easy on all of you. Got to go...dh is back and I better start tidying around the house. Julia |
Confession time! I crawled back in bed and slept 45 minutes! :o I made the bed now, so I won't be tempted again.
The rain last night helped wash a lot of pollen out of the air, but since I had my windows open, there is a lot dusting my furniture! I guess I need to go do some dusting. :( I HATE dusting. I actually hate anything that can be considered housework. Oh well.... Dinner is in the crockpot...roast with onions and carrots. I am so pleased with myself for thinking to do that. All I have to fix tonight for dinner will be a green vegetable. Easy! Guess I will go dust some. |
:D Something funny for "hump-day" :D
Many years ago in Scotland, a new game was invented. It was ruled "Gentlemen Only...Ladies Forbidden"...and thus the word GOLF entered into the English language. ********************************************** Coca-Cola was originally green. ********************************************** It is impossible to lick your elbow. ************************************** The State with the highest percentage of people who walk to work: Alaska ********************************************** The percentage of Africa that is wilderness: 28% (now get this...) The percentage of North America that is wilderness: 38% ********************************************** The cost of raising a medium-size dog to the age of eleven: $6,400 ************************************** Intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair. ************************************** Q. Half of all Americans live within 50 miles of what? A. Their birthplace ********************************************** Q. If you were to spell out numbers, how far would you have to go until you would find the letter "A"? A. One thousand ************************************** Q. What do bulletproof vests, fire escapes, windshield wipers, and laser printers all have in common? A. All invented by women. ************************************** Q. What is the only food that doesn't spoil? A. Honey ************************************** In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes. When you pulled on the ropes the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer to sleep on. Hence the phrase......... I tried to lick my elbow...how cliche' :dizzy: -Sar- |
I don't have the strength to weigh myself...I must confess...maybe by next Wednesday. I think I will start doing the TaeBo again...haven't done it since I was really really sick...but, I still have been working out...TaeBo kicks my tooshie.
Got to go to my DGM/DGF/DA (auntie)'s house tonight...we had this really nice roast in the crockpot we were taking over there...but, they "up and decided" to get Barberton Chicken (if anyone is from Ohio or been through Ohio and knows anything about Barberton..it is rather famous for being so good...but, way way fried...) I am a little upset about it...the other dinner is already done, but they now want the chicken...argh! I guess I will just pull the coating off of it. My DD is on my lap right now...she is so cuddly lately. Found out about DS in preschool..the trouble from yesterday...well, he was playing with another little boy's "girlfriend" (yeah 4yrs old???) and he got upset and pushed my DS...well, DS retaliated and the teacher got my son and not the other boy. My DS never never is belligerent (except to his sissy at home, lol) and I just know that either the little fight upset him, or when he got in trouble that upset him...so, it put him into a mood. Gotta run and make lunch! -Sarah- Menu: b-2 egg whites/spinach, 2 mini whole wheat apple muffins, a few grapes l- unk??? d-chicken, sans skin! s-??? |
O.K....I am living in a sick ward! Lane has a little bit of a cold now, and her bowel movements still are not back to normal. I had to keep Britt home today due to a deep chest cold; she is coughing so hard, she almost throws up. AND, my DH was up with a stomach ache and chills all night.
I did not get to the gym this morning; I was too tired. But, I did weigh 120#'s. I will try to get to the gym on Friday and Saturday. I hope I don't get any of this stuff....I have my luau tonight and I want to be able to eat there. We also are supposed to go to U2 tomorrow night, but will have to see how the girls are feeling; I don't want the sitter to get sick. So, needless to say...Lane won't be able to go to the firehouse today because I can't take Britt when she is sick. Lane pretty much just has a runny nose, so she would have been alright to take. Poor thing; she missed the park last week from being sick, and the firestation today. For BF I had a bowl of oatmeal w/ agave, blueberries, cinnamon and crushed almonds, and a slice of toast w/ peanut butter and fruit preserves, and a small glass of non-fat milk. That should hold me over for awhile. Sarah: Are you at risk for developing more infections due to the mesh they used? So, you are the reason for those airport delays ;) . I thought I wanted more kids originally too, but we waited awhile to have kids (my DH is 42 & I am 37). I am now happy with just two. I really look up to those who have had more than that, and are sane enough to tell about it. My youngest (3 in July) is very head-strong, and has such a unique personality. I do tell people that if she were our first, she'd be an only child. My 7-year old has always been such a sweetheart (loving, caring, looking out for others, compassionate....I could go on and on). My youngest is all for herself. I know some of it is age, but a lot of it is personality. I too had difficult pregnancies. With my oldest, my cervix was 80% effaced when I was less than 7 months, so I had to spend the last two months of my pregnancy on strict bedrest. That was the longest, hardest two months of my life. With Lane, I had Vaso-previa (a blood vessel was covering my cervix, and had I have gone into labor before it moved out of place, she would not have made it, and I probably would have needed a blood transfusion or died myself). It moved out of the cervical area 4 days prior to me going into labor with her (good thing since she was born 4 weeks premature). It was very scary. AND now with this prolapse stuff, it has become clear that I wouldn't have been able to carry another baby to term. Cindy: I hope I can have good, open relationships with my girls. I always hear horror stories about girls and moms. I want to be one of the exceptions. You are so good about posting your menu; I am sure it keeps you accountable. It also gives newbies some good ideas. Sebray: an omelette is a great way to start the day....lots of protein and the right amount of fat to hold you over and get you going. Congrats on getting your paper done. BOB: Better get to work so you don't get written up (ha). Good luck adjusting! Monet: Yum, you dinner sounds good! I have been craving Mexican...I will have to make some enchiladas soon. Glad you had a positive weigh-in experience. Teensy: What a mess to wake up to; I'm glad it was something easy to fix. You should have a whole new house soon. Your little trip sounds like a lot of fun. Glad the dogs are doing well, and that Buddy has recovered. Ken: Don't be having that baby yet ;) . Congrats to your friend. I really do enjoy the Fuze drinks. I bought a lot of different flavors. I got some with Splenda and some made with honey, and also a few with the fructose. I haven't tried them all yet, but the ones I have tried are very refreshing. I also bought something called "Switch." They are carbonated drinks made with 100% juice; I thought the kids might enjoy it and feel like they are drinking soda. Britt is only allowed to have a soda once in a great moon, and Lane has never had one. We'll see if they like them. I sure hope Lane learns some of those positive behaviors when she starts school. Our kids will always pick up some not-so-positive traits, but there's not much we can do about it. It seems to get worse as they get older. We never let Britt watch anything on TV, unless it is a sports event with her dad, or something on Nick or Disney (Blue's Clues, Dora, 64 Zoo Lane, Winnie-the-Pooh, etc....). I haven't even let her get some of the fairytale movies because I don't like them. Anyway, she already knows who Mary Kate & Ashley are, she knows who Lizzie McGuire and Britney Spears are. I'm sure some of it comes from kids who have older siblings that get into that stuff, but there are also a lot of kids in her class that watch those kinds of things. If we had the patience of CountryMom, we could homeschool. I would get too many gray hairs and wrinkles  . I, unfortunately, don't have the patience needed for that. And, as much as I don't want to face the fact, my kids are going to have to meet the big, bad world one of these days...we can only protect them for so long. Anyhow, I guess I better go tend to the kiddos!! Have a great OP day! Nat |
Wiw
My first really good WIW in ages... :) Down three pounds this week to 157. I had a straweberry slushie thing for breakfast this morning. Breakfast is so hard to squeeze into my day. But I'm getting better.
Monet....I'm so happy for you this morning. It's so good to see you happy on a WIW. Lucky duckie getting in a nap. I saw the broccoli sprouts you mentioned the other day. They were kinda high. Is there a big enough taste difference to merit spending the extra money? Poncho...praying your little ones feel better soon. Sorry ya'll missed the firehouse visit. Sarah...I've had those weeks. Well I would weigh but I wouldn't share the results..LOL Taebo is so fun. I wish my body would cooperate. My joints won't let me. I wake up in the night in terrible pain when I try to do the routines. Believe it or not we got the funny about not being able to lick your own elbow and my goofy daughter can. Don't ask me how I can't even come close. Julia... I have a feeling I would love to taste some of your cooking. I'm not afraid of spices at all. When I first left home I tried curry for the first time. I LOVED it! My family wasn't as impressed...LOL Tech...hang in there. It will be off before you know it. Teensy...thank you. I kinda hid away and ate away my pain when Britt lost the baby. As the weight went up the more I went into seclusion. You sure are keeping busy with all the work around your house. That is really good exercise and keeps you away from the fridge...sounds like I need to get busy..LOL Cindy...my hubby works late so we usually stay up pretty late...not usually till 4 though. It makes for a rough morning the next morning. Luckily we home school so the kids sleep in. Sebray..woo hoo yeah on finishing the paper. Bob...I'm glad things went well with you new boss. Jack-K...hey woman! ((hug)) Heart...you can't hide... :) Hope you are having a good day. Toni and Arcayne....where are you two at this afternoon? Love and hugs, Crystle |
Flying by. I had lunch at the Japanese restaurant. Its so nice now that I know she has brown rice! I got beef teriyaki and brown rice. Delish!
I feel like I am forgetting something! I have so many little projects I should be working on, and I just feel like vegging out. Wish I could get going on them! I tend to work well under pressure (like you, Sebray!). I will check in later. I may even take a nap. :) |
