Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today, both great I believe!:)

Would you be satisfied with a few hundred dollars, if you knew you could have had a million? It seems foolish to walk away from so much value.

Yet every time you give anything less than you're capable of giving, you're doing much the same thing. Every time you choose a quick, inferior shortcut instead of making the full effort, you're missing out on value that could have been yours.

If you see the task in front of you as a chore to be tolerated, it will not bring you much. When you see it, though, as an opportunity to build value, there's no limit to where it can lead.

This day is yours, not just to get through, but to make use of and to build something great. Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, no matter how much or how little you have with which to work, there is a way to climb ever higher.

And that way is to put the power of your attention, the power of your commitment into what you're doing, no matter what it may be. Excellence is welcomed and rewarded everywhere it is applied, and no job is too large or too small to do your very best.

Whatever it is you find yourself doing, truly care about doing it right. And you'll never have to settle for anything less than the very best.

-- Ralph Marston

Some people see those who have achieved great success, and they respond by becoming envious. Others respond by becoming inspired and committed to reaching even greater goals of their own. Some people respond to the success of others by trying to take it away or minimize it in some way. Others realize that their efforts are far better spent in creating their own success.

Another person's success does not in any way diminish your prospects. In fact, the more people there are who are truly successful, the more opportunities you have to succeed. No one who thrives at the expense of others will continue to thrive for long. For true and lasting success comes only to those who provide positive and useful value to others.

The success of your neighbor is your success too. For it makes even more possibilities available to you. Let the success of others positively inspire you. Then go ahead and become an inspiration yourself.

-- Ralph Marston

Have a wonderful day, and a fabulous week!!!!!

As usual we continue with to TRY AND GET IN AT LEAST 64 OUNCES OF WATER A DAY and TRY TO GET IN AT LEAST 3 DAYS WORTH OF EXERCISE and post it on the exercise board.

Easy one, not hard to do. Just list the starchy carbs you eat, with amounts, if possible, for at least 3 days this week (or any days, whatever you can do).

I wanted to hop on here early and wish everyone a good week! Let's make this the best week ever! Love yourself, and do what is best for you...stay on plan and treat yourself like you deserve. I have a tremendously busy day today, so I may not be able to get back until tonight or tomorrow....

Until then!

Debelli 11-10-2003 08:05 AM

Good Monday Morning:wave:

Hope you all had a nice weekend.:D

Went to bed hoping I'd be nicely rested and having the desire to go out and walk. I got up, a bit earlier than expected due to that darn phone ringing, got dressed and hoped I'd have the drive to go. I didn't, but I kept hoping and wishing and as I sit here, still dressed to go out and walk, my body just feels drained and I just don't feel like going. What can I say:shrug: Hey, at least I got dressed to go, that's a start.;) I shouldn't be so tired but I think TOM is due this week (lost track) and I think maybe that's why I'm so tired.

Also, with TOM coming I think that's why the scale is up 2lbs for me today. That and eating a lot of ELI'S eggplant dish he made last night, which was absolutley DELISH!!!

I have to go to the Gables, where my parents live, to do a few things today and probably will miss yoga. I have to go to my Grandfathers house and get my folding table to use this weekend for my garage sale, go to the bank with DM and try to find a place that can somehow patch my couch seat. SOMEONE must of put their feet up on my couch and snagged it with something like a belt buckle and made a hole. I love my couch, it's huge and fits perfectly where it is and I don't want to have to get rid of it. Unfortunately the way this particular cushion is made you can't flip it over:(

Well, I just MAY have the recipe for OLE OLE'S salad dressing in my hands. I've asked lots of questions and I think I have all ingredients and amounts and will try to get the ingredients one day soon and try to make a batch. If all works out, I'll be passing it along-it's delicious and the reason I go there, oh, the dressing AND their salsa!!

As of today, it will be 2 weeks since LAUREN started the SOBE DIET. I know she's not eating enough, or drinking enough water and she's stuck having lost 5lbs, all the first week. Starting tomorrow she'll start PHASE 2 and I'm hoping she'll find, eating the SB way easier, as well as seeing she can lose more weight if she eats right. I'm really proud of her, not so much about the weight loss, but more that she's been resilient in sticking to a diet without cheating for 2 weeks now. It was all her idea, she chose this diet, and decided the timing was right for her, and for that, I'm really proud of her efforts. The weight loss is secondary. :)

Okay, on to some replies...

MONET, that eggplant recipe sounds delish and you KNOW how I just love eggplant. Of course, I'll pass it to ELI and ask him to make it, you just KNOW how my cooking is! BTW, what exactly are pimentos?

KITTY, you sound like you have a good grip on the concept of SB. The only thing I think may not be good are the crackers. I've never bought, or seen, this brand, but does it list SGWW flour as the flour used? I'm surprised there are so many crackers in a serving. When I eat my WW crackers, the serving size is 4, like the saltine size-not much. Anyhow, as you said, moderation, which is one of the main keys to being successful at this WOE:)

DAVE, thanks DAVE, sometimes, you just don't know:) Hey, at least he wasn't naked!!! Thanks for posting that article.

COUNTRY, thanks for the link-will check it out later. Hopefully, it won't be far more than my brain can handle;)

TONI, good luck today with the journaling. Looking forward to taking a look at what you're doing:)

AGAPE, looking forward to seeing more of you this week:)

MOM, not to worry, a few chips aren't going to mess you up. It could easily be for many reasons, like TOM-I'm up 2lbs today and I'm not worried at the least. I can tell you, if you can get a piece of graph paper and make a weight chart, or find one on line, you can know, over time, how your body will go up and down during certain times of the month - like TOM and mid-cycle - for me it's a given.

Well, I'm outta here. The least I could do this morning is go clean the kitchen up from the weekend mess, then enjoy something for breakfast. Will check in later, before I leave for the day.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Toni48 11-10-2003 08:05 AM

Good morning everyone. Wow a new week to do what ever we want to with it. I'll have to say I've tried the South Beach diet this week and it just isn't for me. I think Sugar Busters has spoiled me but I want my bread and fruit. So no more of that and back to SB.

Deb- Thanks so much for calling. I really needed your inspiration. I'll be journaling this week. Sorry we got cut off.

Monet- Morning to ya... Hope you have a great day.

All right I'm off and running. Going to walk at the campground at 10 this morning.

Ellen 11-10-2003 08:39 AM

DEB: Pimentos are a type of sweet red pepper. They can be found in the pickle/olive area of the grocery store. They come chopped, sliced, and whole, usually in a jar.

TONI: I am with you! Give me bread and fruit! I did Atkins for years, and the bread is what I missed most! I love being able to have some on SB without feeling guilty.

Ellen 11-10-2003 08:40 AM

Oh, wow. I just noticed that this will be my 1000th post! How exciting is that? :)

Solly 11-10-2003 09:00 AM

Good Monday Morning.

A new week to make great strides. Let's make it a good one. My weekend eating was so-so. Not too bad. Let's say I did have a fight with the cheese nips. They won, but they are gone for good now. We went to a brakfast buffet yesterday. I don't know why, I don't get my monies worth. I did have 1 biscuit and gravy, but that was my only starchy carbs for the day. The only other meal I had was a salad for dinner with chicken in it. The scale was up 1 pound today. I putting it away for awhile. It frustrates me.

I really miss not being on the board for the weekends. I need to do something about getting a computer at home while DD has mine at school.

Monet, thank you for the MM. Hope your day isn't too busy. Congrats on your 1000 post.

Deb, What a shame about your couch. Hope you can find a way to fix it. Congrats to Lauren on making it 2 weeks w/o cheating. It is an accomplishment to do something and the wt loss is secondary, but if she were to start losing again it would sure help her stay motivated. Maybe if you just walked a short while instead of jumping back into the whole amount it would help. Looking forward to that dressing recipe. What does it taste like? Does it contain salsa? Oh I went to the HFS yesterday, and the didn't carry the Sheltons ww pot pies either. What has happened to them? They had the regular ones. Also, the Hodgens Mills ww pancake mix contains corn meal. Can we have it?

Toni, I started the SBD and couldn't do w/o my bread and fruit too. Oh well, we know this works so why look elsewhere. I am limiting my carbs to 1 a day (if possible). Enjoy your walk. Are you all looking for rain this week too?

I'm off to read the weekend posts. Be back later.
P. S. I'm not voting on the poll yet. I want to say I will be down. BUt the way things have been going, I may have to stick with being the same.

jecrites 11-10-2003 09:15 AM

Hi everyone.

My day didn't start out so great. The kids came in my room and told me it was time to get up, I looked at the clock and it was time for the bus to run! Kerri was ready for school, but Katie wasn't, she had just gotten up. I told her to get herself ready for school and then looked out the door and hubby had taken my car! I haven't a clue where he went other then the gym, but when I called them to have him paged, he didn't answer the page. Boy is he in some trouble.:s: I called the shop and talked to one of the guys there and luckily he's extrememly nice and came and picked up the girls and took them to school for me.

Hubby just came home, and I gave him another lecture on taking my car! Can you believe he has nothing to say for not resetting the alarm so I'd get up?! Geez, I swear if it's not the kids driving me crazy it's him!

The weekend was ok for me. I made a zucchini loaf and ended up eating nearly the whole thing myself, but at least it wasn't all in one day! I did have a little bit of a pecan roll yesterday though, other then that I stayed OP!

Monet, Wow 1000 posts!

Deb, Congrats to Lauren!

Toni, I have to say that I haven't tried any other "diet" and stuck with it like I have SB. It's so easy!

Well I had better get going here this morning, lots of cleaning to do:s: I'll talk to y'all later.

Fillise 11-10-2003 10:03 AM

Morning all! Just a quick check in before I head to the dentist for a cleaning. I have to take an antibiotic before I go, so I've got to go to the drug store first!

Eating was not so good over the weekend, but today is a new day and I'm not going to stress about it. I did manage to get some chores done that I'd been meaning to do--including spending all day yesterday shredding old documents. I feel like I have uncluttered a lot of my life--which helps!

Today I need to move files from my 2002 candidates into storage so I can begin files for my 2004 candidates. I have two signed up already and will be talking to a third this week.

I'm still sulking over Auburn's game this weekend. We shouldn't have lost. That's all I'm going to say about that! Congrats to BOB on a big win for UT on Saturday and to everyone else whose team won!

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is a little more than two weeks away. I will be heading to NC two weeks from today. I was just thinking that I ought to make some WW bread to freeze then I can turn into stuffing mix ( have used WW bread to make my dressing for the last three years and the family loves it--they don't know it is any different from the regular stuff my DM used to buy). With WW stuffing and a SF apple pie made with WW crust, I can feast on THanksgiving and it will be totally legal day!

I saw that Mrs. Smith now has a No Sugar Added Apple pie in the forzen pie section at my gorcery store. Of course it is made with white flour--but still it would be better than the sugar laden stuff. I like making pies though. Everyone has their favorite and I make'em all for Thanksgiving. We have almost one pie per person!

Thanksgiving is easy SB wise for me--it's the stretch from then until Christmas that I find hard. Everyone--and I mean EVERYONE pushes sweets for the entire month. That's really when we need to stick together on this board.

Have a great week everyone!

Pancho 11-10-2003 10:22 AM

Good Monday morning:

I cannot believe that we are posting for November 10-16th; where has the time gone? I used to laugh when I saw Christmas stuff going up in the stores the day after Christmas...now I understand why they do it. The time goes so fast, and people do procrastinate. If it is right there in their faces everytime they go to the store, maybe they'll get a move on.

I was at 121.5# this morning, and one day over the weekend, I was at 120#. I'm not even doing anything differently....hmmm.

We had a very productive weekend around here. We tore apart Britt's room and cleaned it completely. I got all the laundry and ironing done, and we baked some more. We made the applesauce brownies and they turned out well (I substituted the full amount of agave for the full amount of Splenda). I used one of my 70% cocoa bars for the topping. We also made Rizza's pumpkin cheesecake but haven't tried it yet; it wasn't set enough last night. If it is good, I'll post her recipe on here. We also made the almond crust to go with it. I also tried my hand at the pita's for a second time. Some puffed up and some didn't, and some did partially. BUT, they are still delicious. When I pulled them out of the over yesterday, I topped with some ref. beans, cheese & salsa and baked them enough to melt the cheese and then added black olives, lettuce and tomatoes (wish I had sour cream in the house). They were delicious; tasted like Indian Fry bread without all the grease.

Today, I hope to go to the gym when Britt is in school, but that all depends on whether Lane gets her nap or not.

BOB: Always nice to replace those baggy pants!!

cheryl: my mom had told me about reading that in the SOBE book, but I talked to the nutritionist who told me that Metamucil is really hard on the system and to take the straight psyllum husks. I don't understand now, ifthat is all that the metamucil is. I might get some phyllum husks at the store, and have around for when I know I'm going to have a large or starchy meal. It's good for regularity.

heart: How tall are you? You do look awfully thin in that Halloween picture; but you wouldn't have noticed that yourself if we hadn't told you that (ha). I know how you feel. Once you've had the extra weight, it's hard to see yourself like everyone else does. It still catches me off-guard when I hear, "you're so tiny." I can totally relate to the Boogie saga. Lane wants everything on every shelf, and when she doesn't get it, watch out. I was at the grocery store the other day, and she was screaming for the cereal. There was a group of men there, and one said, "just give it to her." I said, "you don't have to live with her." I'm not going to cave in and give in to her just to shut her up. If she didn't have that sweet loving side to her, I'd really wonder about this parenting thing. She is at the stage that she puckers up and then plants a big slobbery wet kiss on you. I love those kisses. She is starting to say so much now, and I love the stage she's getting to (other than the premature tantrums - she won't even be 2 until July). Sorry you are having a bad TOM. My back always hurts when it is that time; I had a back injury years ago, and it doesn't take too much to irritate it.

Monet: Sorry your meeting was disappointing; I'd be too. These are women you used to spend hours with, and then you had to cram this meeting into one hour. The eggplant recipe sounds yummy.

Dave: It must be the doctor's scales that are off, not yours;) .

Deb: Sounds like you found some great bargains out there at those garage sales. I am going to go to some this weekend after I go to the gym. I actually got the regular pretzel stix when I was at Auntie Anne's; they never seem to affect me in a bad way. BUT, I am still curious if they use SGWW in their pretzels; I might check their site and see if I can get that info. It would still be better to get one of those than the regular. I hope you are able to repair your couch cushion. I wish we could replace all our furniture, but will have to wait awhile.

Kitty: Sounds like you have done your research and are planning ahead. You will do well. That shoppers guide is really handy to have when starting out. I eat the Blue Bunny yogurt for breakfast often; I just add some ground flaxseed and nuts for fiber.

Toni: Welcome back to SB.

Jack-K: I feel the same about buffets. We spent a lot of money on buffets in Vegas when we were there, and I truly did not get my money's worth.

jecrites: at least you got all that fiber from the zucc. loaf:lol: . DH can be pretty frustrating at times.

Well I better get going. I have lots to get done this morning before we leave for school.

Have a great day!!

Debelli 11-10-2003 10:22 AM

Getting ready to leave in a moment, just thought I'd come on and quickly catch up...

TONI, will e-mail you that other site later today. If for some reason I don't, please remind me to do so. Sorry about that with the phone, I knew it was going to happen!!!

MONET, I've seen them but just wasn't sure where they originated from. I always see them stuffed in green olives.

JACKK, I don't like buffets at all, esp after having my stomach stapled, what's the point if you can't eat your monies worth. At least at a restuarant, I can doggie bag it. I never thought about just walking a little. If I had had that mentality I'd probably gotten out and then walked the normal 4.5 miles. The dressing is a vinegarette type. It has things like onion, parm. cheese, white pepper, Lea & Perrins, lemon/lime juice, Grey Pupon mustard, and a few other things - it's really good! Hmmm, I wonder what's going on with the pot pies - may have to write the company and ask:chin:

JEC, DH has some splaining to do I see:s: Glad you were able to get the kids off to school. I'd die if I wasn't able to get my kids to school on time, has never happened and I hope it will never happen.

FILLISE, sounds like you have your TD planned food wise. My family knows my food is SB LEGAL and even knowing I've made it, they like it AND eat it, without any ill-effects;)

PANCHO, I don't think it's SGWW flour, and if they use it, it's not totally. I've seen the info before and just decided, for me, I wasn't going to eat them. We actually like the jalepeno ones. I do have recipes for WW pretzels if you want. Actually, I think the recipe's on the board already:)

Okay, gotta run - "see" you guys later.

cherylco 11-10-2003 10:56 AM

This is too funny! I started South Beach (SBD) last Monday and made it till this morning. I have had a low level headache pretty much since I started. After reading posts at the Prevention SBD board and finding out a lot of people had headaches the whole 2 weeks of induction I said "Forget this!" I just had a nice bowl of oatmeal and feel so much better!
I had really bad headaches before I had 2 strokes and a headache scares me a lot!
So Induction was not do-able for me.
I did realize I was eating a lot of crap. I'd eat out and have boneless chicken wings that were cooked in a fryer and breaded. I was eating way to many carbs. Not enough protein and not enough veggies! So it helped. I lost 3 of the 5 pounds I've put on since slacking.

DD grew up listening to all kinds of music, Rock, Country, Classical. Thankfully she likes all music and we're not stuck listening to headbanger music all day! Right now she's into Fleetwood Mac.

CountryMom4Him 11-10-2003 11:12 AM

Good morning!
The scales are slowly inching their way upward over the last couple of months. You would think that would be motivation enough to watch my eating but I went "stupid" yesterday. No reason no excuses. Praise God today is a new day. I even had breakfast. Shocker I know. :) Half a pack of buddig turkey with a slice of fat free cheese melted in the microwave. :)

Robert shot an 8 point last night. So after I take B to work I will be cooking and grinding. So my afternoon will be full. If I get through early enough I need to exercise. It's been too long. I only worked out twice last week.

DEB...AOL is MEAN! I tried to write you back this morning. The program I use is Paint Shop Pro. It's awesome and worth every penny over the long haul.

Jack-K...I think the scales are out to get us! LOL I am like Pablobs (sp) dogs...you said cheese nips and my mouth started to water. And there are two boxes in the kitchen...agh.. But I have the power to ignore. Until the kids open them. :)

Susan....I sure wish there was a way to make cornbread stuffing legal...Last year I didn't make it because I didn't think my kids liked it but Britt let me know the other day she loves it. So it will be around to taunt me this year.

Jenn...sorry your day started out so poorly. That means the rest of the week is just gonna get better. ((Jenn))

Cherlco....I'm glad you are feeling better this morning. Two weeks is too long to suffer with headaches I would think. I can see a day or two.

Poncho...hey skinny! At 121 you are tiny. Look in that mirror and see all your hard work. I was actually productive this weekend also. Britts room took me 3 hours to clean! And that was not even doing the dressers. I am some slobby kids. Why couldn't they be a neat freak like their mom? :D

Monet...thanks for your motivation this morning. I AM gonna treat myself like I deserve. I hope you have a GREAT week also.

Well, Mom is on her way so I'd better get ready to start working on this deer.

Love and hugs,

(Not telling....:D )

Just teasing...I don't know this morning.

Trishaloo 11-10-2003 11:52 AM

Morning, everybody.

Just have time for a quick pop-in to say hi and I'm still here. This is the busiest time of year for me at work, things are just nuts. And I'm trying to get ahead so that I can take off for Jordan's boot camp graduation. By the way, did you know that today is the Marine Corps birthday.

Dave - Happy Veteran's Day!!!!

Bob - Way to go, Vols! The Longhorns thank you cuz that really helped us in the standings (sorry GreenRN).

Everybody have a great day!

chrisd 11-10-2003 12:12 PM

Good morning everyone...Hope you had a great weekend. Today is a new day. I havent really eaten anything that wasnt legal...Im just eating too much. The only thing I did eat off plan this weekend was Chinese food. i didnt have rice though, so thats a plus. i had beef with broccoli and 2 spare ribs...plus I had a little wonton soup. Like I said today is a new day right?? I am afraid to go back on the scale, so I probably wont until the weekend. Im afraid that its still going to say 5lbs up.

DEB - I never got around to making the tortillas....BUT I did get some pita and put that in the oven for chips...YUMMY!!!!!!! That hit the spot and took away my craving for chips and salsa.

CRYSTLE - So you are actually cutting up the whole deer yourself???

BOB & JACKIE - Soooooo, did you see the game??? UGH!

HEART - Your picture looks great...good for you!

The Quilter 11-10-2003 12:12 PM

Hello dear friends!

Just checking in to say that I'm alive and well. I've gotten the calls from Deb who is just about ready to send out the troups looking for me. Thanks Deb! You are such a sweetie!

So very sorry I haven't been on lately. Things have been pretty hectic around here. Work has kept me busy the past couple of months and then there's all these other projects I tackle. Not to even mention all the leaves and yard cleanup there is to do. This past weekend we helped pack up my parents to go live with my brother at his new house. It was a whirlwind as they didn't expect to be ready for a couple more weeks. Talk about working our butts off. DB ended up with an entirely empty truck leftover after his house was packed. So that's when the plans changed. It's a good thing, because Mom and Dad are so happy up there. I've talked with them twice on the phone and they seem really good. They are now farther away from us, but we don't mind the extra drive.

My eating hasn't been too great lately. I was doing really well for a while. But the past couple of weeks have shown me doing the snacking thing again. Scales were up this morning, so I'm back to the grindstone again. Determined NOT to gain anymore back.

I hope you all are well. I miss checking in to see what's new. Miss Maddie's hind legs continue to get weaker and weaker. We will start her on steroids this week to see if that gives her any more strength. The vet says she's losing muscle mass back there. My heart aches because she's absolutely healthy in every other way. We're seriously thinking about getting her a cart for the back end. Some people give us really good reports about how that worked with their dogs.

Take care you all. I hope to be able to get on a little more regularly now.

KittyKat77 11-10-2003 12:22 PM

Hey! It's going good so far!

Deb-The crackers are Keebler Wheatables Seven Grain - not harvest bakery like I mentioned.
Now I know what the SGWW means! Stone Ground!?!? Unfortunately, the first ingredient is enriched flour. Stone-ground whole wheat flour is listed later in the ingredients. So this is a :nono: ? I never eat 17 of them. What other crackers are legal? These just taste so good!

Better get back to work...Check in tonight.

jackieO 11-10-2003 12:37 PM

Good Morning to everyone. My weekend was not as on plan as I would have liked, I was OK at the wedding, but blew it at the engagement party. I had two helpings of lasagna, and no the noodles were not WW. I have a stomach ache this morning, like a lasagna hangover. I did manage to make it to the gym on Sat and Sun. Yesterday, I lifted weights and did something to my back. I think I was trying to use my back muscles to lift rather than my arms. Basically, I look like that lady on the old Doan's commercial.

CountryMom- I was cracking up laughing at your cheez its/ Pavlov's dog analogy. I can totally relate. Good luck working on that deer!!!

Cheryl- I had the headaches on South Beach too. I think Sugar Busters is much healthier. Hope you feel back to normal soon.

Jenn- Hope your days gets better

JackK- How is your RA? Feeling any better? I think it is a good idea to hide the scale for a while. It can be so frustrating to watch it fluctuate and beat yourself up about water weight or buffet weight or whatever! I haven't seen Fruit on the boards in a while. Hope she is well.

I will catch up with everyone later when I have a chance to go read the weekends post. I don't have a computer at home and get so behind on the weekends. Have a great day- Ashley

jecrites 11-10-2003 01:47 PM

Just popping in for some replies.

Deb, DH was at the gym, but claims he didn't hear the page! I told him he is grounded and can't drive my car anymore unless it's on the weekends and the family is with him. The AF has started making it manditory for them to work out so many minutes per week and I forget just how much of that time has to be during duty hours, granted it wasn't duty hours this morning when he went.

Cheryl, I don't blame you one bit for not wanting the headaches after what you've been through. I've had a pseudo (sp) tumor and I am scared of headaches too.

Country, I guess today is just gonna be one of those days. Autumn has done everything she can think of to drive me nuts so far, and the darn clinic doesn't have an appointment time that's doable for me to get back in to the doc. That part I can deal with, it will just give me a bit more time to get a little more weight off before going in. Congrats to Robert for the 8 point! DH would like to get one himself, but it's just bow season right now here and it seems he can't hit the broad side of a barn right now either.

JackieO, Oh dear, I hope your back gets better soon.

Well off to find something to eat since it's lunch time.

Solly 11-10-2003 02:17 PM

Got to do some UPS so I thought I had better post my notes so I don't lose them again.

This is an easy challenge this week. I am having only 1 starchy carb today (plan so far) that is 1 pc of sgww bread.

Jecrites, I hope your day improves. Go back to bed and get up again.

Fillise, don't fret about your weekend. They are killers. I would love for you to post your stuffing recipe. DH just asked yesterday if I could make some ww stuffing. Never made it before. Always used stove top. I was torn for who to cheer for on the Auburn game. I like Auburn and would normally have pulled for them b/c of you, but I love Eli Manning. So I didn't know who to pull for. It was a great game though. My Ds makes all the pies for us and she make about 1 per person too. I need to give her the sf crust recipe and apple pie recipe. Is it posted in the recipes?

Pancho, Thanksgiving is a week late this year so we lose a week before Christmas. I could use that extra week. The stores here have their decorations up before Halloween. Two people in our area hae their Christmas lites on already. I atleast wait until the day after Thanksgiving.

Cheryl, welcome back to SB. I think we are spoiled with all the good eating we can have.

Crystal, Believe me I thought about you with every handful of nips I ate. The funny thing is they have been in there for weeks and I never bothered them. I was really bored Sat so I guess that was the problem. Sounds like a cleaning weekend. I cleaned out closets, laundry room and cupboards too. Congrats to Dh onhis deer. Don't tell Teensy, she is still trying to get one. One of our superintendents was just in with pics of his 5th one.

Trish, I heard this morning that it was the Marine Corps birthday. Some child called in the radio station. I bet his dad told him.

Chris, yes it is a new day and a new week. Let's make it a good one. Yes I saw parts of the game. Sorry. That's 3 in a row isn't it. Somebody needs to do something.

Kim, It's about time you got back on here. I know you are busy, but you can spare us 2 minutes just to say hi everyday can't you. Plus look how good it is for you. You need us too. I really miss you. Poor Maddie, hope the shots help.

Kitty, the word "enriched" in anything is a big no-no. Triscuits are fine 6 or 7 maybe. I find some ww at the HFS. but at a regular store, Triscuits will be all you will find. Glad everything else is going ok.

Ashley, don't worry about the weekend. Getting back on track today is the key. I'm sure with all your exercise you will be fine. I loved the lasagna hangover. Hope you back is ok. Thanks for asking, I am feeling much better today. I slept in a little Sat and Sun and I think that helped.

Work is a little slow today so I can get on here more. Yeah! Made a pot of veggie soup last night for dinner. DH says we can eat it 2 or 3 nights Yuk!. It's not my favorite (tend to like Campbells only). So I hope it is good enough to at least eat it tonight for me.

jecrites 11-10-2003 03:32 PM

Jack-k, If only that would work! Thankfully I am actually getting this laundry done that's been waiting on me for about 2 weeks now, and they day is getting close to being nearly over.

chrisd 11-10-2003 04:00 PM

JACKIE - lets not push it...no, its 2 losses in a row. But Im sure you will be able to say 3 in a row next week. Im soooo over it!

Solly 11-10-2003 04:31 PM

Chris, sorry, I was thinking it was 3. Next week will be better.

Toni48 11-10-2003 04:45 PM

Good afternoon everyone. Just thought I would check in before to many posts got ahead of me. Well I'm doing the one hour at a time today. Seems like I can't get enough to eat today.

Jecrites- sounds like your morning started off pretty rough, hope your day got better.

Fillise- Wow you're off and running today. I can't believe Thanksgiving is just a couple of weeks away. I sure would like to try a ww bread stuffing. Think I might try. And I'm looking forward to a pumpkin pie without sugar and a ww crust. Theres so many things I'd like to try. I have a really hard time durning the Christmas season too. We're going to the kids house in South Carolina and I bake and cook allot.

Pancho- I sure would have liked to have been at your house over the week end. Wow all the goodie baking. I've got to try the pita bread. I wish you would post your almond crust. I would love to know how to make one.

Debelli- I can't find your e mail address. But guess I'll get it when you send me that site address...

Cherylco- I'm glad I'm not the only south beach diet drop out. I finally had some fruit today and it tasted so good. Tomorrow I have oatmeal.

CountryMom- I don't envy you cutting up the deer meat. But would love some after its cut up...LOL Really does sound like you have your day cut out for you. I know what you mean about the cornbread stuffing we've had it in our family every holiday forever. Its hard to not make some...

Trishaloo- How far will the graduation be from your place... I'm sure you'll be one proud Mama..

Chrisd- Think my problem is eating to big of servings. I think I need new food ideas...

The Quilter- Oh my gosh its so good to see you posting Kim. Wish you would come back more ofter. I miss hearing from you.....

kittyKat- I get Ry Vida crackers with sesame seeds at the health food store. They taste pretty good with some peanut butter or cheese on them..

jackieO- Well that work out should have helped lots with the lasagna. I admire you for going ahead and exerciseing.

Jack k- Hope you got all your UPS done. Yikes nips. I love those little buggers.

Well I might have to have a peanut butter cracker...LOL..... Off I go.

HiedieHo All!

Whew! I'm pooped! Went to NH and then to mall. Just got home about an hour ago. Did get three presents. Also if any of you have a Creamery concession around you, they have cappuccino, SF and also SF flavored syrups. It was delicious and gave me a little pick up during my crawl. I'm really not a shopper.

DS and I sat out the other night and watched the eclipse. It takes a long time so we talked. The subject, DD, wasn't a pleasant one. He's upset that she did not give me an answer about Xmas when I first asked and then just said basically I'm coming, I don't know when, be there. He says the only reason she's coming is to get my things. I know he's right. He thinks I should go to FL with them, but I can't do that now as I already said yes she could come. If I changed my mind the **** would really hit the proverbial fan! Excuse my french! So I went to bed, did not sleep well and woke up with a headache. Then the four of us got talking about it again. They are upset because they don't like DD's attitude.GD thinks her Aunt is trying to manipulate me, make me choose. They also gave me a lecture about don't you help her load things up! DS says he's thinking about calling her and telling her a couple of things. I said that would only make the gap wider and he say's "Oh, well!" I know they want to protect me. So another bad night. You know how it is you go to bed because you want to sleep, but your brain says "no-no, lets think about this and that!" I did email DD today and told her I would not be going back with her as I have a five day event I want to attend and will need to save my money for that!

So basically I feel like a hangover today and didn't even have a drink. I did find myself going overboard on cashews and stopped myself. Don't think I did too much damage.

Enough bemoaning the fact that I am dysfunctional!! On to more pleasant things.

COUNTRY: THanks for the sweet lecture. I know you're right, just hard to accept.

PANCHO: Did you find out anything about Annie's pretzels? I was looking at them today but refrained.

MONET: Too bad about your Moms group. I guess I'm old fashioned but nobody seems to have time to pause and enjoy the spur of the moment type things. Even kids have structured play dates!

DAVE: How great that you are able to do the things you enjpy once again. Humor goes a long way in rehabilitation. Makes the painful things easier and time go faster. I am a true believer in humor as part of the healing process. Remember Mary Tyler Moore at Chuckles, the Clown's funeral? You think that doesn't happen in real life at times?

DEB: Once again the Queen of Shopping. I wish I knew someone that likes gagrage sales. By now you should have the Piano man to send the blood rqcing again through your wizened veins!

KITTY: Welcome to the board. You sound like someone who has reallt done their research. This is a doable plan.

QUILTER: So good to read your post. Wish my DD had your attitude about Mom living with DS.

Now I lay me
Down to sleep.
I pray the Lord
My shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles
Please no bags
And please lift my butt
Before it sags.
Please no age spots
Please no gray
And as for my belly,
Please take it away.
Please keep me healthy
Please keep me young,
And thank you Dear Lord
For all that you've done.

Foot Note:__ One saggy boob said to the other saggy boob:
"If we don't get some support soon, people will think we're nuts."

I watched the flag pass by one day,
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease.

I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil
How many mothers' tears?

How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of Taps one night,
When everything was still,
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant "Amen,"

When a flag had draped a coffin.
Of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.

Take care, Shirley

WW Stuffing
For those of you that are interested in how I do my Thanksgiving dressing. There really isn't a recipe, I make an oyster dressing, but you could easily do it without the oysters.

Let's see if I can remember what I do.

I cube some WW bread and dry it in the oven on low heat (maybe 250) until it is dry (see how exacting this is going to be?:^: You need more than you think because it will shrink when you add the wet ingredients.

I chop some celery and add it to the dried bread--you know till it looks like enough is mixed in (chop the celery finely).

I melt some butter (probably a stick) and mix that in the bread and celery.

Then I add some turkey broth from the turkey I've just taken out of the oven--just until it is good and moist, but not soaking.

I add some sage, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and anything else I feel like throwing in (when I'm in the gorcery story before the big day I look at a bag of Pepperidge farm dressing to see what they added and try to follow that). Don't over season.

If you don't want the Oysters, then you can put the mixture in the oven for 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees (I have it ready to go so it can be heating while the Turkey is resting before I it is carved).

If you want the Oysters, then chop up some fresh oysters (I usually get one container from the seafood section of the grocery). Mix in and throw the whole thing into the oven for 20-30 minutes and serve hot.

Even my nieces who claim to hate oysters inhale this on Thanksgiving!

AS for the apple pie. Ask Monet for the crust recipe. The last one I tried didn't work so well, so I'm using hers this year. For the filling I peel and chop apples (enough to fill a pie plate). I give the apples a good coating of apple pie spice and then mix in some agave (drizzle till it mixes into the apples, but don't use too much. I also mix in a tablespoon of WW flour. I put it in the pie pan and then dot with butter. Put on the top crust and throw it in the oven for 40-50 minutes on 350. I usually put some foil around the edges of the crust and take that off the last 10 minutes or so.

THE BIG ORANGE BABE 11-10-2003 05:53 PM

OH MY GAWD......the glitch is fixed and I can't complain about not having enough work anymore! What ever it was,...well, let's just say that I've been busy from 8-4 non stop and didn't even give lunch a thought!

As for the cornbread dressing....When I want some, I make some...I find that filling the "want" doesn't take much...we use white cornmeal, so it's not sweet, the I put some herbed croutons
in the chicken broth to soak, 2 cups celery, 2 cups onion, 3 cups cornbread, 3 cups croutons, one of those big boxes of chicken broth, two eggs, 2 tbs sage...that's it..mix well and bake on 350 for an hour or until it gets golden brown...It's my Grandmother's recipe, and man is it good!

I can't get on page one of this weeks board...don't know why, so I started with Crystles post...if there is anything I need to know from the first page, please let me know.

I made a HUGE pot of VEGGIE SOUP yesterday and that's what we're having for supper..
When I was at PUBLIX yesterday, I found a deal on JACK DANIELS GRILLING SAUCE....I love that stuff for my grilled chicken. Scrounged around until I found $1.00 coupons and stocked up my pantry for $1.49 a bottle!
Went to WALMART and actually followed my list...was in and out in 15 minutes! That's a record for me....BUT...I went to BEALLS (dept store) to pick up a birthday present for my nephew.....ran head on into a new crop of frocks so I bought SEVEN NEW DRESSES!!! Got them for 40% off!

Well, That's my news...I just sent Kim an email and reamed her out for not being on the board and then when I got here...THERE SHE WAS~!

Hope everyone has a good evening....

kengjw 11-10-2003 05:53 PM

Good Monday evening...
Yesterday and today are dhs off days so we have been out and about. I didn't ate too well over the weekend. Had few pieces of sushi and today had some takeout from Harry's Farmers Market. Anyway, tomorrow is a new day :)

Debbie : Thanks for your concern and advice on my goal weight. It is just a rough goal but I assure you, it has nothing to do with how I feel inside. My main goal is to have a healthier lifestyle. I am still eating too much but compared to what I used to eat, it wasn't too bad...lol.

Monet : Dh and I went to Harry's at Paces Ferry Road (Marietta) since it was closer to dh's office where we were earlier. To my disappointment, they do not carry much of any sweeteners except Stevia. That was what the lady there told me and I did take a look at the Health section. She was right! The carry a bit of Atkins stuff too. Stevia was so expensive, about almost $10 per bottle. Anyway, I will visit another HFS nearby to check if they have Agave but I bet it is expensive. When I get the chance sometime in the future, I will go to the one in Gwinnet.

Got to go...dh is almost home. Good day everyone and will catch up soon.

heartmom 11-10-2003 05:53 PM

Pancho- I'm 5'8"- I've always been told that I carry my weight well because of my build. Hmmm, not that I agree, lol.

Country- DH MISSED his deer last night! Everyone's been teasing him about it. He lives for hunting season. He's already informed me that Thanksgiving dinner better be over quick, because he's headed for the woods. I don't see him much this time of year;)

I don't know what's wrong with me lately, something's not right. I feel tired and drained, no energy. Today while exercising, I felt nauseous and dizzy. I hope it goes away soon, since I'm a mild hypochondriac and I'll start thinking all kinds of things soon. Anyway, I decided to step on the scale today and I'm at 176, so only up 1 pound. I'm glad I waited, because with all the fluid I had on me I probably got up to 180-181, maybe more. Eating today hasn't been great, again- I'm overdoing the starches. Got to get a grip. Alright, the kids are splashing water all over the bathroom floor, gotta go...

Pancho 11-10-2003 06:24 PM

Good afternoon/evening:

I did get to the gym (ooops...forgot to post on exercise board, but I will) and got my full workout in. I also returned a pair of shoes to Payless. My DH and I usually do an ab tape together 2-3 days a week, and I always forget to post that too. better get back to posting. Other than that, not too much going on. I am going to make dinner here soon, and try the pumpkin cheesecake...can't wait!

Deb: As far as the pretzels...I couldn't find the ingredients listing, but finding the nutritional info. was enough to steer me clear of them. Although they have 7 grams of fiber -vs- their ordinary pretzels 2 grams, they have a ton of sodium 1120 mg -vs- 620 mg. They have 10g sugar -vs- 7g. The fat & calories and cholesterol levels are all higher. Since I don't eat them often enough, I will just stick with the regular ones that I like.

Country: Sorry to hear about those scales going up. Maybe if we instill our "good" habits into our children, they will grow up to be neat too. I don't mind messy from time to time, but clutter drives me batty!!

Quilter: Glad you are getting back on track. I hope the steroids help your dog. When I was a child, I had a Collie that was born with hip dysplasia and we had to have him put to sleep at age 7. We probably should have done it sooner, but kept hanging on. It was so tough for me.

Kitty: You can have Triscuits.

Jack-K: We usually do our Christmas decorating the day after Thanksgiving. We always get our tree Thanksgiving weekend, especially when Thanksgiving falls late, like this year.

Toni: I will post the recipe for the crust in the morning. I will taste the cheesecake tonight, and if I think it is worth posting, I will post them both.

Sef: Sorry DD is giving you headaches. I hope it all works itself out soon for you. As far as the pretzels, you should read my post to Deb above. Thanks for the Monday Funnies....loved them.

heart: If you are 5'8", you probably are not too far from goal weight, are you? Yea on 176#!!!

Well, better run and get a few things done.

Have a great evening!

KittyKat77 11-10-2003 07:09 PM

I'm having a really bad headache since after lunchtime. I guess I'll take some aspirin. I wonder if it's the sugar emptying out of my cells!
It's getting cold here in Atlanta. Lows in the 40's...Brrrrr  I'd rather be sweating! I need to move to Tampa or Miami! I'm going to crank up the heat and go to bed early! I think that's why I gain more weight in the winter because I tend to hibernate.
Who cares! It feels good to wear my Winnie The Pooh flannels and get into a warm bed and sleep for 10 hours! I don't sleep in clothes. I always did until I met BF, he insists on being nude all the time that he's not outside the house. It took a while for me to get used to it. I grew up wearing clothes! He grew up with his sisters running around in their panties & bras. People don't understand why I sweat when I spend the night...I'm not used to wearing clothes in bed! I know! TMI, TMI!
I did pretty good today on the plan. I did find some candy in my purse leftover from Halloween. One smartie and one pc of butterscotch. I ate the smartie and attempted to eat the other but it was so sweet I had to spit it out. Nasty! Ewe! I've always been a butterscotch lover.
This is what I ate today:
B-2 oz. each of milk & oj, 3 oz. bb lite 85 stwby yogurt & 4 oz. applesauce
L-turkey breast on ww w/ lettuce, tomato, mayo & mustard & 2 slices dill pickle
S-spinach dip w/ crackers (about 12)
D-broccoli w/ cheese, zucchini and smoked sausage in salsa
S-1/2 cup carb smart chocolate ice cream
Check in tomorrow.

SuperDave 11-10-2003 08:16 PM

Happy week 10-15
Thank You, I was lucky 20 years and I never had to go in vietnam,I always think of our service people as this is the hollidays coming up and believe me I spent many of them away from home.

Sef: Yes your place sounds wonderful and thats the way I want to live, unfortunately my wife is a big shopper and cramps her style.
Yes I think humor is whats makes life exciting. It helps people from taking everything so serious you add stress to your life.

Greenrn: can you believe those Cowboys, won again and they do not have a very seasoned team. They have been my favorite team for 25 + yrs. But I have to admit when, Buffalo, Giants play I secrectly root for them.

I sure hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday season, this is the time of the year when I get real generous like tip the waitress 20- 25 % or but gifts for the gift tree at church, buy a bunch of toys for the salvation Army and wrap them and drop off at one of their locations. Say extra prayers for peoples needs. Try and be more cheerfull around people. Every year I say to my self is it not a shame I could not do that year around, still working on that one.

Debelli 11-10-2003 09:48 PM

Ola amigos and amigas!

Hope everyone is well today. Finally able to get on the board, that's only because ALEX showed up and MICHAEL finally got off the computer the first time since he walked in the house!:

Hungry today - totally OP but eating more than I should. I guess it has to do with TOM coming in soon:shrug: Speaking of food...I was at Target yesterday and they had some new apples I had never heard of called SONYA APPLES-if you see them, get one, they are delish! They are a cross between a gala and another type - so sweet and juicy!

Oh, if anyone needs a copy of the pianostripper mpeg, just LMK and I'll send it to you. I had lost my copy and thanks for SEF, she sent me another. Oh, you don't know what I'm talking about? If you're daring, I'll send it upon your request:s: Many of you have seen this "piece of work" before;)

Not much to tell about today, just ran some errands with DM. Will hop right in to the replies...

CHERYL, I thought on SOBE you can't have breading? Did I miss someting? Well, whatever, as long as you are feeling better now, that's what's important. What does DD want to do after she gets out of school?

COUNTRY, okay, for us dumb city folk, would you please explain what the heck an 8 point is? Will look for the PS Pro. I remember you said #6 was good. I'll keep my eye out at the garage sales. I don't think I'd use it enough to justify spending more than a couple dollars on it.

TRISH, thanks for checking in. Hope things settle down for you soon.

CHRIS, glad to hear the pitas worked out well for you. LMK when you do make the tortillas. How's your GM???? Sent you a better copy of the piano guy, but it came back for some reason.

QUILTER, geez, does it take a stick of dynamite to get you on here??? Lord, call out the troups, that's an understatement. NARDA and I were going to come find out what was going on, that's a lot scarier than troops being called to come get you!:fr: Sorry to hear about Maddie. Try to get on when you can. I second what JACKK said!!! WE MISS YOU!

KITTY, if you can find them, I personally like the Barbaras Wheatine Crackers. I would ask MONET what can be found up in your area. Some people like the Ry Vita, I got some great crackers similar to them at IKEA that were from Sweden, but both those I wouldn't eat plain, whereas the Barbaras I would. The headaches are normal and it is from the detoxing of the refined crap-good sign. Don't let the cravings get to you, they too shall pass if you are experiencing them. Hope BF has a nice bod since he runs around in the nude all the time. ELI, thankfully, doesn't do it outside the bedroom-that's more than enough for me! Oh, I love butterscotch too, esp. on ice cream - caramel is good too;)

JACKIE, it's hard to stay OP at events such as a wedding and I think you did fine. Esp. with you getting to the gym this weekend, I sure wouldn't worry if I were you. Hope you're back is feeling better!

JEC, I forgot to mention, I called you yesterday and got that dang message again!!! Weird that I keep getting it. Any ideas:?: Can you call your cell phone company and ask why this may be happening?

TONI, did you get the e-mail ???

SEF, I so wish I could help you in your situation within the family. I think your DS is so worried about you because, as it seems from an outsider looking in that you seem to want to have a better relationship with DD (which no one could blame you) that you're willing to do anything, even at the expense of your feelings and you being hurt and it seems it keeps happening time and time again. Your DS sees this and doesn't want it to continue and is probably saying this out of his love for you. It probably bothers him just as much as it does you. Maybe I'm wrong, but if I was DS and I saw the way my DS was treating you, I'd probably feel as such. Hope you don't mind me throwing in my 2 cents:)
Oh SEF, thanks again for sending me the piano man, I've had a ton of smiles watching it today:)

FILLISE, your recipe sounds good, pretty much like the one I make, but mine uses artichoke hearts instead of oysters. Can't use oysters since MICHAEL doesn't eat them and there's only a few foods he can eat during TG dinner, this being one. I even make it with veggie broth. Rissa's site also has one on there, which I did copy long ago on to this board. Should I ever want to make this, ummm, fresh oysters? Are you suppose to cook them first? What kind of flavor do they give to the dish and how would it be if you were to leave them out?

BOB, glad to see you were finally able to get on the board. Wasn't able to get back on the computer until now so couldn't reply. Hope you get all caught up with your work. Just called yesterday to congratulate you on your teams win over Suntan U:)

KEN, I think that's the Harry's that I met MONET at when I was there last year. I use to love Harry's when it was Harry's. They took away some of the things that made me like it, like the feta and spinach pies. I still like going there but my heart still belongs to Trader Joes! I use the Stevia in packets, it too is expensive, but being the shopper I am, I get it for $3.99 a box right now, compared to $6 a box and up, not too bad. You can check on line for it too.

HEART, please watch yourself and see, if you continue to feel weird, go to the doctor. Are you drinking enough water? Eating enough? Not doing one or the other or both can do that to you as well, but it could be something else, so be careful.

PANCHO, are you SURE it says 7 gram of fiber? Sounds like a lot to me. I wasn't able to find their website to look.

DAVE, HAPPY VETERANS DAY! You are a very giving man - good for you, it shows us even more of what a great person you are:D

If anyone is interested in some of the archived recipes for the holidays, just click on the link below and scan down the page.

Okay, I'm outta here. Will check in tomorrow morning!

Ellen 11-10-2003 09:50 PM

Good Evening, everyone!

The dinner tonight went well. The group inhaled the chili, dabbled at the biscuits, and made short work of the salad. They ate about half the cakes I took- a praline chiffon cake with caramel icing and a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream. Yes, I did sample the cakes. I was bad enough to even eat one of the biscuits, made with white flour.

The meeting afterwards was strange for me. After some teaching time, the pastor had us break into smaller groups to pray, but due to the nature of what we were to pray about, he suggested finding people you knew well enough to be open with. Everyone quickly split into groups and as I looked around, I realized I did not know anyone in the room very well, and no group seemed open to me to join. My head felt like it was buzzing and I was trying to decide what to do when one of the staff members..a woman...seemed to notice that I was alone. She came over and we made a group, but it just felt so like fourth grade, and I was the only one without a partner.... As soon as I could, I disappeared into the kitchen to help the administrator clean up and carry stuff out to my car. I hate that feeling of being alone when you are in the middle of a large group. Anyone know what I mean?

I went to the doctor with Ruth today. She has the same metabolic problems I have...hyperinsulinemia, low T3, positive ANA antibodies. He gave her a few medications to take. When she got home, her husband looked them up on some internet site and did not like what he read. He does not want her to take them, and she is feeling rather frustrated about the whole situation. She is going to follow the doctor's orders about diet, and will start on SugarBusters immediately. We went to lunch to day, and I gave her an indoctrination lecture. Hopefully, she will do well on it.

I am going to go put on my nightie and climb up in bed and read for a while. I need some down time.

Sweet dreams everyone!

Good Evening to All,
I had started writing earlier and my comnputer froze on me. So I had to start over after I got back home. I wanted to put this article on earlier in the day, but, it's better late than never. So here goes, it meant a lot to me, hope it does something great for you.

Make Up Excuses Why You Can - By Rachelle Disbennett-Lee, MCC

We all have excuses as to why we can't do something. Ask anyone and they can give you a million excuses why it can't be done, why they haven't moved forward on their goals, and on and on. Making up excuses takes a lot of energy and time. So since, as humans, we seem to enjoy making up excuses, I have a great idea. Lets make up excuses why we can.

Since we all are experts in making up excuses, we won't need much training in this area, just a shift of focus. Instead of focusing on what we can't do, lets focus on what we can do. Instead of coming up with all kinds of excuses why it won't work, lets focus on why it can work. Get the idea?

Instead of focusing energy on excuses that don't serve you in moving forward, make up excuses that inspire and enthuse you to do what you want to do. Excuses like "there is no time like the present, I am old enough, I am just the person to do the job, I know all the ways it can work." Actually, there are an unlimited number of excuses as to why you can. Be creative and think of as many as you like.

Debbie ~~ I, too, am sorry for the hole in your couch, I know your heart just sank. Hopefully I can repaired. Sometime when it rains it really, really pours. I happy that Lauren is doing good on her diet and I am rooting for you that she will switch to SB, which I truly believe will be easier for her because of you having done so great on it. Hang in there baby girl. I didn't know that you had your stomach stapled, was it for weight loss?

I must get some rest now. I really got behind when I had to leave earlier. Will be back in the morning to get a good head start on the postings. have a good night everybody...

See ya Later,
LJunel (slim and Healthy)

DEB- I can't believe you don't know what an 8 point is! It's the points on the antlers of a deer. The more points(bigger), the better. As for me, I eat more than I should lately, and I drink more water than anyone else I know, so I know it's not related to that.

Eek!!! I go to the office for one day and look how many posts. How am I ever going to keep up. What, you people must have the internet at work. I don't have that luxury.

I emailed Deb this morning so I guess I should share what I am so happy about. TOM is here which is not so great but not so terrible either. What I am happy about is that I bought these pants on Friday night (size 12) and they fit great so I bought them. They are from Ann Taylor and I'm a petite and it is so hard to find pants that actually down down to my ankles and not to the floor. Anyway, when I put them on this morning, I couldn't keep them up. Now I have to return them and get size 10 which hopefully will fit since they don't have in between sizes like an 11. I weighed myself yesterday and I sware the scale hasn't moved but my pants fit so loosely now. Something is happening to my stomach.

I actually was a bad girl tonight which I am very ashamed of. I go to this Divorce Support meeting and they had cake and tortilla chips. Well my blood sugar level dropped and since I have TOM I craved chocolate and well, (gulp) I had a slice of cake. I feel so horrible. I told myself I wouldn't do that and I did. My TOM always gives me cravings and they are so hard to fight sometimes. Tomorrow I will be a good girl I promise.

Night all!
