How many servings?!?!??!
how many servings of whole grain pasta, bread, cereal, etc can you have? Are there different stages to the diet like with Atkins? Also, can you increase your servings of grains if they are low-carb?
Also, what are the serving limits of fruit, veggies, and dairy? (I want to start today, have been on Atkins, but I wont be able to buy the book for a few days, so some pointers to get me through till I can get the book would be appreciated) Thanks! |
Hi Amber!:D
SB recommends 2-3 starchy carbs a day. As for different stages, basically it's weight loss and maintenance though SB doesn't really give much info about maintaining. I recommend Michele Montignacs book EAT YOURSELF SLIM, he gives better details than SB about this WOE. If you are eating low-carb I would say you could increase the servings, but also watch the proteins. Usually low-carb means more protein. SB recommends that about 40% of your intake come from carbs. Fruits are suggested to be 2-3 a day, but I truly believe this has to do with how many calories you take in. If someone was taking in 1200 calories 2 fruits would be recommended, but someone taking in 2000 it would be more. Until you get your book I suggest going to the site below which gives a good overview: http://www.prettyimpressivestuff.com/sugarbuters Please feel free to join us on our SB WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD where we tend to congregate, ask any questions you may have and we'll be happy to help!
