Newbie

Hey everyone,
My name is Louise and I am from Australia. I'm a little unsure about how this all works, so bear with me if I make a mistake lol.
I have PCOS and Insulin Resistance, as well as a host of other medical problems, and about the only diet I feel good on that seems to work is a lo-carb one. Unfortunately, most are too strict so the willpower wanes. SB seems to be the best as far as being able to stick to it. I hope to get back on track, get healthy, and shed some weight (I am close to 100 kilos... I don't know how many pounds that is). If nothing else, I will feel better about myself. DH and I have been trying to have a baby for just on three years, and sometimes things get me down, as strong as I try to be. I figure if I look better, I'll feel better. Like I said, at least I'll be healthier.
Hope to learn some things and meet people in the same boat.
Hugs,
Louise.

:D Hey! Welcome! I know what you mean by restrictive. I was trying to do the Atkins thing but nosedived real fast. I'm just trying to cut down on my sugar and eat healthier. *sigh* Seems like I got a million pounds or kilos or whatever to go. :dizzy: I wish you the best of luck.

Hi There!

Welcome to the forum, Louise and Kayecee!

I too did low carb, but I switched to SB about a year and a half ago, and I think it is much better for me. I too am insulin resistant, and I take medication for that, and for hypothyroidism. Weight loss is frustratingly slow, but at least I feel good on SB!

I hope you both will join the crew on the weekly support thread. That is where everyone posts regularly. Instead of hitting new thread, just do a reply. There are a lot of people who post regularly, and everyone is really nice and more than willing to answer questions or help in any way possible. I know there are several PCOS sufferers on there, and a number with insulin resistance, as well as a bunch of us who have switched from Atkins to SB. I look forward to see you both on there! Deb, the moderator, starts a new thread for each week on Monday morning. Come join us!
