Default No More Sugar

Every time I eat something that may have a small amount of sugar in it I tend to get jittery and shaking. I have noticed this for awhile now, and I try not to eat any sugar, but it seems like EVERYTHING has sugar in it. The only thing I eat now that has a lot of sugar in it is yogurt. I eat the Yoplait strawberry flavored kind and after this container is finished I'm going to swith to another yogurt that does not have sugar in it. Does anyone know of any brands that do not have sugar but still taste good! This would be gratefully appreciated. Any other substitutes for sugar would be nice too!

Thanks!!

It does seem like EVERYTHING has sugar in it. I looked at a lot of ingredient lists on my last trip to Trader Joes. I couldn't believe certain items that had sugar in it. Frustrating!

I find that I pretty much have to cook from scratch most of the time. I try to make meals that are pretty simple. Baked chicken and steamed broccoli, steel cut oats wtih cinnamon, pecans, and a couple dried apples.

I noticed this when I came into the States and my diet changed completely. The same products over here taste much different then back at home (like Yoplait). Everything is so sweet here I used to loooove fruit yog and was about the only "better sweet" I could give up chocolate for (I like dark chocolate, but even that one is very sweet over here). But when I tasted the US Yoplait, it almost made me throw up.

My advice would be to buy normal yogurt, mix it in the blender or something simmilar with any fruit you want, and you have the best fruit yog ever! My fav are bananas, strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries.

Instead of sugar I use stevia when I need some (like cocoa with milk), but I hate it, I don't like supplements. Stevia is actually a plant, you can do some research upon it. I would always go for the fructose (a fruit yog made by me).

I am looking for a suggestion for a good protein powder. I went to see about the HMI (?) diet through a hospital and the deal is that you eat 5 fruits and veggies and drink this drink and eat some pre-packaged meals. I'd do it if I had an extra $1000.00.

I buy plain yogurt and mix it with a spoonful of 'all fruit' spread. It works well and the kids love it :-)

Apparently, FAGE yogurt has a really low sugar count in comparison to most other yogurts. The 0% or fat-free one is really good with some fruit mixed in. It might take some getting used to as it kind of resembles sour cream. I don't know if you use stevia at all, but it definitely makes it taste amazing. I'm sure the FAGE 0% yogurt would be really good in a smoothie with unsweeted Almond Breeze (almond milk).

i really like dannon light and fit but i think it has like aspertame or some other kind of artificial sweetener that is also not so good for you. but i think they are really yummy and i like their texture so i usually eat those.

I just discovered Fage yogurt. I buy the 2%. It's so good. I mix in blueberries, cereal, or nuts, and some cinnamon. I love how creamy it is.

My taste buds are faster to adapt to a low-sugar diet than the rest of my body, which is rebelling furiously. For me, only a couple days of unsweetened yogurt (which tastes SO SOUR at first) and then I'm fine with the sourness. Also if I'm restricting my calories just a tiny bit, that really helps to make all the "health food" taste better.

Try eating more good carbs like dairy and beans. Avoid grains, even whole grains while you're kicking the sugar. Don't eat to much Fruits.
