Sounds like you all had an excellent weekend! Noticing many of you are starting Spring break, something those of us on the west coast won't see until the 1st week of April.
Today is Wed., but all of this was written Monday and Tuesday, I have been having a horrible time trying to get on line. Today I weighed 164. Not bad, not good...it just is. Have to run, but wanted to get a hello out to all of you.
Slaphappy, I can't stay to read all of your email right now, but I caught enough to know that you and yours need extra prayers right now and I'll be adding you to mine.
This is from the inspirational/motivational messages I receive each day. Although it deals with recovery, it carries the same theme as yesterday, Finding A Way and fits with the motivation that we must all carry as we move forward on a path of better nutrition and better health.
Today's thought is:
If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed. . .nothing will be impossible for you. --Matt. 17:20
When we repeat the message, "nothing will be impossible for you," we offer ourselves hope and power for the future. We can also change that message to the present tense: nothing is impossible.
Recovery has opened the doors and windows of our lives. We are starting to realize that we can be all we want to be. Today, we enjoy the pleasures involved in getting to know a new self. We practice believing in ourselves today. We are full of life and positive energy. Today we know that we are living the adventure of getting to know ourselves and others.
Today let me believe that with the help of my Higher Power, I can achieve all that I dream.
Deb, this week's MM is just perfect! Reworking daily life to incorporate the things I need to be doing. I may even do a little "chore" schedule until I get things rolling more smoothly. Went to make the oatbran muffins last night and discoved the box with the recipe on it had been ditched - yikes! I'll be doing some web surfing today, trying to find a new one. As for Sticky Threads - Sounds great!
Daramus, We will be re-focusing together my friend. This week's goal is to stay out of Starbucks until the weekend or at the very soonest Friday when I'm off with my son for his medical appts. I have expresso roast at home, it's just a matter of learning how to make it right. If I can reduce my visits there the caffeine, fat, and chance of cheating with those darn muffins goes down. (Wrote this Monday, Tuesday I went to Starbucks. I changed my coffee to be made with 2% milk, but didn't skip the muffin. Next time I go in with breakfast in my tummy!)
Melf, EVERY STORM WEATHERED WITH DETERMINATION BRINGS US CLOSER TO SUCCESS, another great reminder of how we will succeed and how gracious He can be to help us through. Also, thank you for the beautiful email you sent me. Size 6 - what's that?
Congratulations, you have come a long way!
Fruitloupe, Sorry to hear that you'll have more medical trials to go through. Hope you get to feeling better really soon.
Toni, Nice to have you on board.
Beth, Sorry to hear your feeling icky, hope the strep clears up soon. My sister and her family (with the same name as yours coincidentally) are going through an awful time with strep. I hope that you and yours get well really, really soon.
Sef, You didn't say, but I hope that your are feeling better after your fall.
Zanne, Your temps sound wonderful, it's back up to 88+ today here. Summer is just around the bend for us. Congrats on your all time low.
AdronsGirl, It must be nice to have your hubby on board with you. I certainly hope that one day my DH will see the light for himself, for now he motivates me and helps me to eat right and I really appreciate his support. Is your 7-year-old ok?
Gracious, How is your DH doing now, I hope he passed the kidney stone and is feeling better? I noticed you and I are both headed for about the same goal and are about the same place, but I know that I need to exercise to get rid of the rest. I'm not an aerobics person and was doing some calisthenics before, may I ask what you are doing? I did start using the bathroom downstairs at work, so this means I run up and down the stairs many times during the day. It's just a beginning I realize, but to exercise I'm going to have to do it spurts as I don't have 45 minutes to exercise each day. That's how I ended up getting off the exercise wagon before, getting up at 4:30 in the morning was doing me no good as I was simply exhausted, even though it was for exercise, I just couldn't live on 4-5 hours of sleep each night.
Music, I read your post and could relate whole heartedly. My son's last asthma treatment runs between 11 and midnight, on a good night I check all my children when he's done and go to sleep (again). On some night's I finish with him, just get comfortable and one of my daughter's wakes up and then just as I get comfortably snug back in my bed the other awakens, and then, Michael needs me once more. It's not until I read your post that it really set in, although we lack sleep at times, isn't wonderful to be fortunate enough to have 3 beautiful children who need us.
To all that I missed, I hope you're having a wonderful week!
