Hi everyone

I'll be back sleeping in my own bed tonight. The sleepovers at my dd's were fine. It was just a question of being there. The two boys are almost 14 and almost 16 but Mom didn't feel comfortable leaving them alone at night while she worked. The dgs that had the surgery is doing fine and should be home tomorrow. I hope I can get back to my walking schedule tomorrow. I did play badminton yesterday and to-day was bowling this morning and will be badminton this evening. Will be eating early dinner tonite as badminton starts at 6.30 and doesn't finish until about 8.30 and I hate coming home that late and having to cook dinner, as well as not wanting to eat so late. I won't be playing all that time. There are usually a lot of people there so there is quite a bit of sitting around and socialising. I have some shrimp cooking with a multigrain rice and veggies. I usually do a shrimp and veggie stirfry with some seasoning but to-day thought I would try it altogether.

Solly - I think the reason your balloons etc didn't show was because you typed it in capitals. Now I would like to know why I couldn't have more than one space between the letters of my greeting. I was trying to put three spaces beteween the larger letters but each time I did a preview it reverted back to one space. After several tries I gave up.

Sef - Sounds like you are having a very busy day. I hope you opt for your second choice when you get home. . I assume the 1/2# was a loss. That's better than nothing. O.K. so I wasn't home to weigh Monday morning but all I do is go up and down 1 or 2 pounds. It never wants to stay down. My crochet project is an afghan. I thought I would need something to do on those evenings when I am sitting at home alone. I guess I have about a 1/4 of it done. I still haven't found the crochet hook. I usually stick it in the yarn but who knows what I did with it this time. I am sure it will show up eventually in some unexpected place. I have lots of other ones but can't remember what size I used so will just have to wait and see. Oh well, there's no hurry.

Hi Guys

MONET Happy Birthday to you TOO, I didn't realize you shared a b-day with thunder.

Question for you, have you found a breakfast ceral that works on this diet? We are open to suggestions, as we don't have alot of time during the week in the morning for breakfast.

Thanks all

Well, I decided not to committ suicide, but I am going to collapse!!!!!

It has been a long day, but entertaining at one of the NHs and going to the concert tonite made it all worthwhile. The concert was put on by the Maryville College Concert Choir of TN. It's near Knoxville. They were wonderful.

MONET & THUNDER: Happy Birthday to you both!! You're not getting older you're getting better. Women are supposed to be like violins and fine wine.....we get better with age!

ROSALIE: Yep, the 1/2# was a loss. This new scale shows 1/2 #s, on my old scale it would have shown a 1# loss.

Glad you are back in your own bed. What do they say about no place like home? I guess that includes beds. Glad your GS is okay.

I hope you don't find hook by sitting on it! Did you check to see if it slipped down into the skein? I do all my handwork at night, very seldom in the daytime, although the last couple of days have been so great I have sat out on the patio and crocheted. Will soon be too hot to sit out there for stitching or anything else..

Hey, does this evening seem springier? Spring started tonight at 8:07 central time.

MO: I like oatmeal, shredded wheat and there is a brand called Uncle Sam's, also Kashi - not the honey kind - there are two kinds.

TONI: Glad you're eating was good. Did the storm make you pull out the buckets? We used to get spring thaw leaks from all the snow and ice on roof.

BOB< SOLLY< THIN> and anyone else I might have missed. HI Y'ALL!!!

Wish I could sit down with a nice Southern Comfort but I guess seltzer will have to do.

May good things happen, Shirley

Morning all,

Late with my coffee, waiting for it to finish brewing.

Have a wonky neck this morning. I was tired last night, mostly achy I thought. Sat down to watch some TV after I posted here. The next thing I know I'm waking up, have a wonky neck from sitting and drooling, and it's 3:30a! Of course by the time I got myself into bed, who wanted to sleep?!?

Have a doctor's appt this morning, just a six month tune-up! He should be pleased with the weight loss. Scale was down again this morning - HOORAY!

I have a penpal (2 actually), Yvone, in Great Briton. You all know I love my BBC shows. I asked her to send me recipes for Toad in the Hole and Bubble and Squeak. She sent them this morning. Can't wait to try them. Kevin and I both love sausage. She also mentioned the same batter can be made into Yorkshire pudding. Will have to ask for the recipe. I love trying different foods. Yvonne said neither recipe is figure friendly.

BOB: My grandmother would say you're either awfully dirty or awfully clean! Seems like you are always doing laundry! Will join you in that endeavor after I get back from doctor's, I haven't done any wash in a week!

I love those chickens and so far have never had a problem, they've always been good. Food poisoning is so miserable, hope you are feeling better. You are our little ray of sunshine! Can't have you feeling down!

Think coffee is done and got to get ready for appointment.

May good things happen, Shirley

Good morning ya all. It was so beautiful I stood out on the front porch and drank coffee this morning. It was nice and peaceful looking at the river and everything budding out. I love spring for sure. Had a good breakfast of a slice of sour dough toast, yogurt and a small OJ. Thought I did good since I cooked DH bacon and eggs. I'm doing a little laundry right now. DH just went to bed till this afternoon. Boy do I hate him working nights. I miss my days alone.

Sef- LOL thats something I would do in the recliner. But with me I just couldn't sleep last night. Even tried some sleepytime tea.

Bob- Oh my gosh food poisioning is horrible. Hope you're better today. We usually get ours at Wal Mart deli and haven't had a problem.

Well its looks like a slow day here. I'll check back this evening. Have a happy day all...... Toni

Hi everyone

I was up early this morning and went walking at the mall. I walked with a friend this morning and managed five laps - one more than usual. It sure makes a difference when you have company.

Ericsmom - Two to three servings of fruit a day is o.k. so an apple a day would be just fine. Strawberries or any other berries are good too. I always keep a supply of frozen berries and will have them with cereal in the morning. You were asking about cereal. Shredded Wheat with or without bran is good. Weetabix is o.k. with just 2 grms sugar; regular Cheerios only have 1 grm sugar (NOT Honey Nut). I sometimes have Allbran Bran Flakes which has 4 grms sugar.

Toni - I guess we are just not used to that fatty food any more. Last week I fancied some sausages and had some for breakfast with pancakes. Yuk. I felt sick all morning. Isn't it nice to know that spring is on the way (I know it is officially here but we need the better weather to go with it.)

Solly - Ha, ha. You are like me with the hammer. I can hit the nails (sometimes!) but they usually go in crooked. Hope the injection worked and you are feeling better to-day.
Thunderwoman - 9 lbs in two weeks. That is fantastic.

Sef - I am glad you are still with us.. I think my crochet hook is a bit too big to sit on.. It's a metal one with a larger plastic handle. I've searched hi and low for it. It's not in the yarn or anywhere on the sofa where I was using it. I've had the sofa practically apart. I don't have another one the same size so will have to go and buy a new one. I THINK I know what size it was. Hope your neck is feeling better by the time you read this. I've often dozed off while sitting up and it really hurts. Sometimes have trouble getting my head up again.. Bubble and squeak sounds good. We used to have this quite often when I was growing up in England. We would usually have a roast on Sunday - usually either beef or lamb - and Monday we would have cold meat with pickles and bubble and squeak. Yum, Yum. The toad-in-the whole I used to like but have no desire to try it again.

BOB - Hope you are feeling better to-day. We had lots of those chickens from Publix when we were in Florida. Never any problem but I always checked the date and time on them to make sure they were fresh. Hope you get more sleep tonite.

Monet - Sorry you had such a hard time the other say with your throwing. Hope next time is better.

Better go and check the wash and throw some things in the dryer so I can get out to the stores for a few things.

Hello, all my bustin' buddies! Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had a lovely day. I woke up at 4 and could not sleep, so I got up, dressed in my grunge clothes and went down to the garagio and worked. I threw a bunch of tea cups, and a few other things. I came back upstairs, washed off good, put my nightgown back on and crawled back in bed, where I feel asleep promptly. I woke up an hour later to the sound of dishes clattering and the smell of coffee and bacon. Tom brought me breakfast in bed! He had a meeting to go to last night, so we did not do much. Today, we went out to lunch. The big deal of the day was what the kids bought me...they got me a portable potter's wheel! It is a very nice one, and they plan on buying the rolling carrying case for it eventually too. It was the floor model, so they gave us the over priced stand for it for free. James and I went out shopping last night at a store that is closing, then hit a brand new WalMart. It was very late when we left, but we both realized we never ate dinner, so we stopped at McDonald's, where I got a chicken sandwich, and threw most of the bun away. Ruth was supposed to come hang out and take me to lunch, but she had some stomach virus and couldn't come. I had a nice day, but missed seeing her. Hopefully, she will be off again soon, and we can get together.

Since it was my birthday, I had a horrible lunch. I ate a bowl of Moose Trax ice cream. I am working hard to be back on track today... I DID go for a walk yesterday though..the weather is wonderful!

Sorry this is brief. I need to go finish up a few things and get a plan going for dinner. I was watching the baby while Laura was working on her car. It would not start, so she and Tom determined it was the starter, which she is taking off... She can be amazing! I would not know where it was even!
