Its a beautiful day in the Ozarks. Compared to yesterday that was freezeing. All is going fine here. I cooked corned beef and cabbage in my crockpot yesterday and it was so good. Its just a memory now cause the corned beef was small and we made a couple meals on it. Missy I'm so excited for you having a boy! Congradulations..... I've got to go get things ready for DH to go to work this afternoon. So talk later....

Toni - I am putting corned beef and cabbage on my shopping list. I haven't had that for ages. Just the thing for my crockpot.
Sef - Have you noticed that any movie you see to-day has to have at least one scene of someone sitting on the toilet with their pants down or standing at the urinal. I think this is so gross. Sex scenes don't bother me but this toilet business I hate.
Thin - Hope Sean enjoyed his birthday party. I don'e envy you when you have to hand him the 'real' keys.
Monet - You are a real good grandma. I hope the kids appreciate you. But I know it is also fun to spend time with the little ones. We have to make the most of them while they are small. They grow up so fast.
It's a nice sunny day here but still kinda cool. I went walking this morning - did my usual four laps of the mall which I think is about 2 1/2 miles. I wanted to take my crocheting with me when I go to my daughters this evening but I can't find the hook I was using. I keep losing the darn thing. I spend more time looking for the hook than I do crocheting.

I am a bit of a frustrated potter this afternoon. I did not make plates. I ended up making big porcelain beer steins. I still need to pull handles on them, but may do something creative with that as well. Then I decided to make a teapot. That is what frustrated me. The top lip would NOT cooperate. I finally got it done, and will trim and assemble it later. I hope it looks ok. I may 'alter' it so I can smack it with a stick and feel vindicated!
I think it is time for a nap.

So nice to see some people here in spite of it being the weekend.
It is beautiful here today. I sat outside and crocheted a while.
TONI: Everyone keeps talking about corned beef and cabbage! Makes me drool. That's something you can't make a little of for one person. I wish the family had a larger choice in their food likings.
ROSALIE: What bothers me most is all the swearing! Seems like every other word is f---. I don't mind cussing but no one cusses that much. Some of the stand-up comedians curse so much and they would be just as funny without it. I think a lot of the BBC shows are more open about bathroom humor than we are. Am I getting old?
What are you crocheting? I always poke the blunt end in through my work so I don't lose it.
MONET: At least you kept at it until you created what you wanted. When I hit a snag, I always feel the best thing is to walk away from it for a while. Then when I go back it seems like "what was the problem?" In my younger days I was more volatile. Got frustrated with a garland of creeping pine I was making and threw the pliers. They made a little dent in the wall above the light switch, where everyone could see and ask about it. It stayed there for years until we paneled, we painted over it but never patched. DH said it would be a reminder to me, became family joke. Now I am meek and mild, so sweet you would never believe I could have done such a thing. Believe that and I have a bridge you might be interested in buying!
Keep a sonf in your heart, Shirley

Happy Monday ladies.
We were invited out for a St Patrick's Day breakfast. It was authentic. Celtic sausage, irish potatoes, baked beans? irsh bacon and even black pudding or better known as blood pudding. If I had known that I wouldn't have tried it. Oh and bisquits and sausage gravy. Mimosas and bloody mary's too. Then that evening we had to attend a dinner for work. A safari Club. They served Elk and salmon! I told DD we didn't have to worry about gaining weight from that dinner. I think she ate the asparagus and a dab of the mased potatoes. MY SIL wanted to stop at White Castle on the way home. Yeesterday, DH & I spent the day tearing up carpet and I spent 4 hours kneeling or sitting ont he floor pulling up all the staples from the padding. What a job. Then I washed all my walls and woodwork and then we painted all the woodwork. I think we worked 7 straight hours. Then at 8:00, I still had to go to the grocery. I loved putting groceries away at 9:30. All I wanted to do was get a drink and sit in the hot tub. I hit the bed and died. Needless to say, I am stiff and sore and my back is killing me. That was just one room. Can't wait to do the other 2. Back to work to get some rest.
Toni, it really does help to come here daily. I think it just makes us more conscience of what we eat. Plus we miss you when you are away.
Missy, congratulations (again). Now you will have the perfect family. What does Alexis want to name the baby?
Sef, you are right. There was no playing while the boss was out last week. He is back today and I'm sure it will be nuts again.
Rosalie, hope your GS's surgery went well.
Monet, glad you got your wheel fixed. Sounds like a lovely day with your DD & SIL.
Thin, Happy belated birthday toyour son. That's a tough one for moms.
Thunder. How long for your DH will be home again?
Mo, hope you had a good weekend.
Got to get busy here.

Morning.
Downstairs you have to jump over air mattresses. The second brother and his wife decided to stay here rather than hotel.
They all got to experience a St. Paddy's Day parade in N.O. The had bags full of throws.
Went to NH as usual, to doctor's to pick up a referral and then to groceery for 1/2 gal. of milk, which wound up being $27 worth of stuff!
SOLLY: There is a lot of satisfaction when you are all done with do-it-yourself projects but it can sure be hard backbreaking work!!
Forgot to weigh in this a.m.
May good things happen, Shirley

Hey everyone! I DID weigh in, and am sorry to report I am up 2. I have had a frustrating morning. The teapot is history. I finally smashed it. One of my four mugs was too dry and I messed it up. I pulled handles on the other three, but they may have been too dry. I did not feel like throwing after that...so I played with the baby some instead. I am waiting on James to get out of the shower so we can run a few errands.
Tom had an interview today. It went ok...he has a LOT of recruiters calling, and trying to set up interviews, so hopefully it will not be long now.
Lunch was a pb&j, and a pear.

Happy Monday ladies
We had a nice weekend but l woke this morning with a migraine so DH stayed home to watch Eric so l could stay in bed and suffer. I am feeling better today and even loss 2lbs over the weekend. J
Is it ok to have strawberries and milk as a snack?
And can you have too much fruit in a day? I seem to want an apple a day and l am not sure if that’s allowed.
Solly all that food makes my stomach turned I am glad l wasn’t there , but l am happy you had fun. Sounds like you are doing a major overhaul of your house, but once your done it will make you so proud to look at it.
Missy Congrads on your boy l hope he is healthy and beautiful.
Rosalie I hope your GS surgery went fine and that you enjoyed the other gk’s.
Monet I am sorry to hear about the teapot and the mugs, and the weight gain but no worries tomorrow is another day.
Shirley, I hope your enjoying having a house full of guests even though it gets tiresome once they are gone it gets lonesome again, so enjoy them.

Hi all,
MONET: Sorry you had such a rough time with your creations. Tomorrow is another day. Too bad about the gain, but that too will go away. You have such a wonderful distraction, your grandchild.
MO: Migraines are the pits. My DIL and GD suffer from them. I had them for years and seemed to finally outgrow them. So in my encouraging way I'll tell you what I tell them. Wait 20 years and they will go away. Although for my GD it may be 40!!
Strawberries and milk are okay. I used to make them into milkshakes using Splenda. Yum!! If you're worried about too much fruits and feel like some, I got different flavorings and made all kinds of shakes. Pina Coladas are nice!
May good things happen, Shirley

Oh boy I had bacon and eggs for lunch today and have been sick to my stomach ever since. That will teach me. Even though the bacon was sugar free and low sodium it was to much grease I guess. Yuck!!! We're expecting rain in a while. Our roof leaks really bad and I dread putting buckets everywhere. We're having a new roof put on this spring. Hope the guy hurries and comes.
Rosalie- The corned beef and cabbage should be on sale. I just love it. Sure was a hit for DH and I. I finished it off with a nice corned beef sandwich for dinner last night.
Monet- Sorry you had a bad day with the clay. Tomorrow is a new day.
Solly- Wow you really had celebration food. I've never had a Celtic breakfast, it sure sounds good. Except the blood pudding
Sef- I know what you mean about going to the grocery store for one thing and ending up with a bunch of things. Sure is hard on the pocket book.
MO- so sorry about the migraine. I used to have them and they were horrid. Good hubby you have to stay home and help out.
Well time to move on....

Good morning ladies,
We didn't have too much work to do last night. We only had to lay the vapor barrier paper. I just rolled it out, and DH did all the nailing. I don't think I can hit the nail onthe head with the hammer. I am all around it. I didn't go to the gym. Every muscle in my body hurts. When I got home, I could not put any wt on my fight leg. I was limping around all night. So at lunch I am off to get another epidural or maybe just some trigger point injections today. I think a good massage would do me and DH some good.
Sef, I can only imagine a St Patrick's day in NO. That place is crazy without a reason. SorryI missed it.
Monet, sorry about the mishaps with your clay. Maybe you just weren't in the mood to do it at the time. Next time will be better. Hoping Tom has some success with his interviews.
Mo, Migraines are horrible. Both my girls have them. My younges has had one for the last 2 weeks and she has gotten six shots in her neck twice trying to help them. They both take preventative medicine for them. Glad your DH could help out with your DS. I would say stick with no more than 3 fruits a day.
Toni, I sure hope we have a dry spring if you need a roof. It has been raining here for the last 2 days and is supposed to rain again tomorrow. But at least it is warming up. 74 tomorrow. Hope that roofer can come soon.
Got to get busy since I have to leave for a couple hours. Have a great day.

Morning all,
I won't be around much today. I have a podiatrist appt this morning, have to go and have blood drawn for a doctor's appt tomorrow morning (which I should have done yesterday}, entertain this afternoon and am going to a concert tonight. Around midnight I commit suicice or at least collapse!!!
Weighed in this a.m. Only 1/2#, looks like I'll be around here quite a while!
TONI: Hope the rain stays away. I don't notice greasy taste so much as I find non-SB foods to suddenly be oversweet or salty.
SOLLY: Aches and pains seem to be the norm for do-it-yourselfers! I hope they work themselves out quickly. You had said you worked steady on the floor for 7-8 hours. That's enough to make anyone sore. It's definitely not your day-to-day routine!
THUNDER: Looks like you're going to be here quite a while too!! Maybe next week the poundage will be more noticeably down for both of us.
Got to run, time to go get feet done.
May good things happen, Shirley
