First 25 pounds gone!

Well, today was the official weigh-in day for me. It turns out I'm down 25 pounds so far! Which means that I'm almost 1/3 of the way to goal, and I've also lost more than 10% of my starting body weight! I've gotten smaller in the measurements, too... 3.25 inches in the bust, 5.75 inches in the waist, and 3 inches in the hips. (12 inches overall) I wish I had started measuring my thighs and biceps when I started, too, but these are the only ones that I have, unfortunately.

My goal was to lose 33 pounds by the time my brother came to visit me, but it looks like I'm going to be about 5-8 pounds shy of that goal. Oh well, even if I didn't meet my goal, I still did pretty well! I have until Saturday to lose a bit more, anyway.

I've decided to set a HUGE new goal for myself, too... When I lose 50 pounds, I will buy myself a new TV. The one I have now is terribly old, and it's starting to make a crackling noise when I watch it (I am afraid it's going to set my house alight!)... So, I'm halfway there... And 1/3 of the way to being able to wear the red bridesmaid's dress without fear of making everyone nauseous. :)

Way to go! Keep it going. Even though you did not quite make goal, look what you did do!! And you are not where you were! Awesome!

Sassy8877 03-22-2006 05:30 PM

WOW that is great! I was just checking out your slides of before and after, wow oh wow you are looking great! You smile is brighter, your posture is great and you look FABULOUS!

dalai_lala 03-22-2006 05:32 PM

Yay! You're doing so great and I'm sure you'll look (and feel) fantastic in the bridesmaid dress... well, as fantastic as it's possible to feel in a bridesmaid dress, anyway... shudder...;)

WOW, I think that is wonderful!!!!
Keep up the great work.
Doesn't it make you feel like you can accomplish the rest that you want to loose? I looked at your pictures and you really can tell the difference, you look marvelous

aerotigergirl 03-22-2006 06:28 PM

Thanks for the cheers of support, everyone! It actually does make me feel like I'm capable of losing the rest of it, honestly. I mean, I've never before actually lost 25 pounds in one try, so I'm much less likely to let it go now! :) Thanks to everyone here for giving me a kick in the butt when I need it and keeping me going!

Congratulations. You are very pretty. You are doing a great job. Remember how this feels so that when you feel like eatting something you shouldn't you just have to think back. "Is this worth gainning weight for?'

That is fantastic!! So much weight lost, so many inches gone, in your pictures you look so much happier, and you're so close to breaking the 200 mark! I am officially inspired.

aerotigergirl 03-22-2006 11:37 PM

Thanks so much for the lovely compliments and the cheers of support! YAY! It makes me want to KEEP GOING! I've been so inspired by everyone else's success every day that it makes it a lot easier for me to stay on track. When I feel like just cheating a little and having a pop or a cheeseburger or something else yummy, I think..."now, I'd be really disappointed with myself if I had to report back to everyone else that I'd eaten a cheeseburger, when I know everyone else is trying so hard to do the right thing..."

I know that might sound really cheesy, but it's totally true. Not only do I gain inspiration here, I also feel like I've gained lots and lots of accountability partners! :) Thanks for the help everyone!

Thanks so much, everyone!

SusanB --- Basically, I have a very calorie restricted diet and I exercise at least 6 days a week for at least an hour every day. So far it's been working pretty well. :carrot: I make sure to eat plenty of protein and vegetables, but not many carbs, and I also take vitamin supplements so that I'm not sacrificing as much nutritional content, and I drink a TON of water... Feel free to have a look at my fitday for details (I haven't input today yet...)

Thanks for the wonderful compliments, everyone! You've made my day so much brighter!

Nash---I love your webpage! It's very cleverly designed and I really enjoyed reading your story. I'm sorry you've had so many horrible things happen to you! You're looking great, too!

srmb60 03-23-2006 03:49 PM

Counting calories, you say! Good on ya! I can't tell you how much I believe in calorie counting. It's awesome!

aerotigergirl 03-23-2006 04:03 PM

I agree, SusanB! I have tried a lot of different options in the past, and all were good for me, but this is the one that has worked the best so far. If I can think of losing weight purely as a math game, it becomes less difficult to do it (typical engineering brain, I suppose :dizzy: ). I only take in between 30-40% of what I burn each day, so logically, I know the plan HAS to work. There's no way it can't work!

I guess this is the same game everyone else calls "mind over body"... but, regardless of the name, it WORKS! Taking the focus off of my own willpower and my own strength, and instead shifting it to a numbers game makes it easier for me to follow the plan!:bubbles:

lilybelle 03-24-2006 09:33 PM
