Yay! And oh it is a HUGE step when you try stuff and it TASTES bad LOL. I'm glad you didn't enjoy it LOL

YAY!!! :cheer:
This is day 33 for me! I know first hand how hard kicking that habit to the curb is so to have made it 3 days is a major accomplishment. Keep going!!

So what's the secret?! I had talked myself out of Pepsi this morning and still ended up popping out to buy one! It's pretty much the one thing I cannot seem to give up and also the one thing that really adds up to alot of empty calories and water retention! I do drink alot of water, though.

It sounds trite, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. When hubby and I switched to skim milk from 2% it was just instant. We bought the new milk at the grocery one night and never allowed ourselves to buy anything else. It wasn't as bad as I feared. We did the same with diet soda. We just refused to buy regular anymore. Diet soda was a bit harder; it's not that it tasted "bad" necessarily (especially now that some of them have Splenda), it just didn't taste the same. But now I can't touch a regular soda anymore, it's too sweet and syrupy. Unfortunately the same thing happened to my regular Starbucks fix... sigh... I miss lattes...

Now we are working on quitting diet soda and just drinking water. That's a little easier (for me, anyway) as I never loved diet the way I did my good old Dr Pepper. I am pretty sick of diet soda and water is better for thirst quenching anyway.

So anyway, you just sort of have to be strict with yourself and ask if it's really worth the extra calories?

Good luck!

You are so right, Lala! When I grew up in rural Missouri, tea had tons of sugar in it! I taught myself to drink it without any and now I can't STAND sugar in it!!!

And sometimes we just have to say bye bye to some old friends LOL.

Wtg Amyz! :cp: Like others I gave up "regular" soda a while ago. I still drink diet on the weekends sometimes, and I've also switched to black coffee so that's been a help too. Sure sometimes I treat myself with a latte but I think now it will have to be a ff latte :)

Thanks to all! The way i did it was ran out at home and did not buy anymore. I would allow myself when out to have a childs size. I don't go out much so my body had time to detox from it. water from a bottle is better. and cold. Hey Dance if you don't mind me asking where in rural mo. did you grow up?

Congratulations to you both, Amy and Karma! :bravo:

Huge congrats!! I love the feeling of having control over my body and not some commercialized product having control over me.

Happy Dance for ya :)

I was born in Houston MO but as a child we moved all around the outskirts of St. Louis... Overland, Gray Summit, Villa Ridge, down in that area. Then we moved to the whopping big town of Success, which is 16 miles out of Houston. Went to Houston High School. Went to college at Branson and then Springfield.
