I lost 175 lbs
My story goes back 3 years ago, on Feb. 26, 2003 i underwent gastric bypass surgery, i weighed in at 285 lbs, three years later, i am now 110 lbs. i knew that gastric bypass surgery was my last option, i tried every diet in the book, i spent tons of money on several diets, including medically supervised diets and nothing worked. a lot of people don't understand that being over weight just a little or being obese, you can get the weight off and possibly keep it off, but being morbidly obese its somewhat impossible, more than likely a morbidly obese person will gain the weight back, plus some. so if anyone out there is looking into gastric bypass surgery, my suggestion for you is to do a lot of research and make sure that gastric bypass is what you really want, because its a life time committment and there is no turning back. people have told me that i have taken the easy way out, well did I ? see i cant go grab those donuts or candy or icecream anymore, because those things that high in sugar can cause me to go into dumping syndrome and that is your heart will beat faster, you are basically paralized up to 45 minutes then you vomit and have to use the bathroom very quickly. i watched everything i put into my body, and i lost all my weight within a year, and i have kept it off since then. gastric bypass surgery is not for everyone so make sure when you decide, picking the right doctor is very important.;)
