Great Christmas Present
 

Well, I was going to post this.....and then I thought that it would sound stupid.....but then I thought again and figured that I would share a positive moment.
At church for Christmas (doesn't that seem long ago...) I saw a bunch of members of my church community whom I haven't seen in a while (I'm a college student) and quite a few people came up to me to tell me how beautiful I looked. My former sunday school teacher and youth minister couldn't get over the difference. It actually made me feel quite good about myself. :D
I had thought that no one had really really noticed my 88 lb weight loss.......but it seems that everyone has (but I guess people figure that you shouldn't mention weight or appearence with young women........ until is is really unavoidably noticable).
It really made my Christmas. :tree:

That is great to here and it really helps your self esteem when people do notice!! Keep up the great job you have done!

Thats great to hear! People haven't really been noticing my weigh loss yet but I know eventually they will!

I know, I think it is a taboo subject for most people because they don't want to be rude and make it sound like they thought that you were fat before... And Valerie, I am sure everyone is noticing even if they don't know what it is, don't you look and just feel better overall? :)

WTG Charlotte!! Im glad folks are noticing, it certainly helps. I understand why not much is said, especially with girls(young ladies), we dont want to warp their perception of themselves. I had noticed that the young girl that lives across the street from us, dropped quite a bit of weight when she started school (she'd been homeschooled til grade 6) So I asked her mom if I should say something, or just leave it. She asked me to keep quiet about it. Its so hard to judge what to do sometimes.

But Im thrilled for you!! 88lbs is amazing, you've done a great job!!!

Charlotte, well done on your amazing weight loss!!!! I know how great it is to have people finally noticing the results of your efforts. I had lost probably 20/25kg (45/55lbs) before people really started noticing. Mind you, I was a LOT bigger than you ever were, so a little amount really didn't show up that much.

Now, my problem is that nobody recognises me. My husband says that his sole purpose in life now is for people to see him, then to work out who I am. He is my identifying mark. Cute huh?

I hope 2006 is as great as your Christmas was.
