Happy Shopping

I had such a good day today and I wanted to share :D

I went shopping for an outfit to wear to some holiday parties coming up. I still haven't replaced much in the way of dress up clothes for a few sizes. Anyway, something just clicked today. Like a lot of us, my confidence has lagged behind the physical changes I've made over the last few years.

Well today, I really felt it. I tried on outfit after outfit without a single negative self comment. Lots of things fit, lots didn't, but my self esteem survived without a scratch. I finally settled on a pair of ( size 6) dressy sparkly black pants with a lace shrug. Then I spotted a beautiful dress that would be perfect for New Years. Amazingly it fit at both waist and hip so I was forced to pick up that as well.

The icing on the cake? A pair of tall boots to go with the dress. They laced up all the way with no skin showing on the edges! (Just barely but I'll take it) ;)

What a luxury, shopping without drama! Now I just have to figure out how to walk in these boots (the heels are way higher than I'm used to) ;)

That's an awesome story -- thanks for sharing, and inspiring!

Of course, we're gonna want to see some photos in the new clothes! :)

photos photos photos (they chant in unison) that must be a great feeling!!! Size what???? I didn't know they made clothes that little ;)

Hehehehe I'll have my hubby take some pictures. Kykaree, I didn't think they went that low either ;) Of course, when I was in highschool they would have been a size 10.

You're a size 10 in England!!! I was devastated when I moved from Australia and instantly went up a size. The differences are so confusing!!!! But now I'm a UK 18 I'll only be a 16 in Oz, and a teeny 14 in the US, so there must be some compensations!! LOL

I wish that we could just all agree on some arbitrary size scheme, it would make shopping online so much easier ;)

Here's a pic of the dress. Excuse the overexposure, my living room is really dark and it's too cold to go outside in this!

How gorgeous! Congratulations. It must feel so amazing to buy a size 6! My holiday clothes shopping hasn't been quite so lucky so I'm really happy for you.
