Wow - You're an inspiration. Maybe, just maybe, if you can do it - so can I! :) Got any words of inspiration? :listen:

Words of inspiration?
Don't play head trips on yourself. Be honest. Don't set yourself up for failure. So, for me this meant to find ways of dealing with a stressful situation (teenage son with emotional problems), a growing awareness I was getting insulin resistance, and the desire not to get diabetes or be unable to go places in the back country with my hubby. Got rid of all things that are too tempting, and don't keep them in the house. Wrote down everything I ate, even if I felt I ate the wrong thing. Most of the time, that didn't blow my diet. Which meant I broke the "I went off my diet today so I can binge until I get sick" cycle. Avoided trigger foods. Realized this has got to be a lifestyle change. Was realistic. If I keep cookies around for the others, I will eat them, especially if they are brownies. So no stuff like that in the house! But I switched to the chewable vitamin and calcium supplements in chocolate so I wouldn't fee deprived, and because they are supplements, I won't pig out on them. Stuff like that. Don't play perfectionist on you, but look for things that will work with your metabolism. I keep Genisoy soy crisps around for those moments, because they work for me. Even if I went crazy and ate the whole bag, it's only 250 calories or thereabouts for the plain salted ones. This is MY approach, anyway. |
So Proud!
We started at the same weight and have the same goal. I just started my journey and wish to break the 200 mark myself.

Congratulations! I was just telling my BF last night that when I get under 200 (which I haven't been since puberty hit at age 12) that I was going to call every person I know or have ever known and start bawling like the folks on the Richard Simmons infomercials! The diet that I'm on now...the 6 week Body Makeover is great and in their forum the call getting under 200 as going to "onderland". Congrats and keep up the great work!
