I passed out last night.
Last night I took a bubble bath because I CAN now. No really, I couldn't before. I didn't fit in the tub. So I was taking the bubble bath with my hair gooped up with some deep conditioning stuff and covered with a shower cap and when I stood up to shower out the goop I got dizzy. It's happened twice before, once after intense exercise and once after a really hot bubble bath but I just sat/lay down the other times and it went away. Last night however I couldn't lay down right away because I had to rinse that stuff outta my hair. I tried to do it quickly but not quickly enough apparently because my heart started slamming, my vision dimmed, I couldn't breath and I felt like I was gonna throw up. I couldn't stand because my legs were shaking so bad so I sat on the edge of the tub and rinsed out as much as I could, thinking frantically that I just needed to lay down and everything would be ok. I was petrified. I seriously thought I was gonna die. I stood up and remember holding my head sideways to squeeze water outta my hair and the next thing I knew I was on the bottom of the tub bobbing my face repeatedly into the floor. I became aware that I was doing that and that my lip hurt and at first thought I was in bed dreaming but then my daughters voice came from the hallway asking me if I was ok (she said later she heard a big crash so i must have went down hard) and I realized there was water hitting my back. I drug myself outta the tub and got into bed where I stayed until morning.
So today I went to the doctor. She said she's pretty sure it happened because I've lost so much weight I don't need my BP medicine anymore! She said my BP was already low and then went lower when I was in the hot water (heat makes your veins expand thereby lowering your bp) and stood up fast. It was freakin scary, especially since that's the first time I ever passed out but YES! No more blood pressure medicine?!? Wooooooo! Then she took me down the hall to another doctor she works with because she wanted to run it past him and she introduced us and told him that since May 28th I've lost 104 pounds and quit smoking and he looked shocked and told me I'm amazing and that they should take my picture and put it up to encourage other patients in their weight loss. That made me feel so good. Also, at the same time I bought the evil bubble bath I bought a size 14 jeans and a medium shirt to put in the closet to work toward. When I got home I tried them on to see how far I had to go to wear them and um.... they fit. I can wear a size 14 and a medium. It almost made me cry. I started in size 28 jeans and a 3x shirt people so I'm pretty excited. Just a few "non scale victories" as they call them.... one a tad scary but ending on a happy note :D |
Wow, that's scary but you ended up with good news! And Congratulations on the jeans! That is awesome.

Well first, welcome to 3FC! You couldn't have come to a better place. There is a wonderful group of ladies here who are always ready to give support and encouragement along the way :)
As for your question... I started at 280 pounds and weight 176 now. |
Gosh, next time forget rinsing the hair! Sheesh! :dizzy:
|
Well, that's great no more BP meds- but jeez! be careful!
Chaotic- that's what I wear now- a size 13/14 and a Med shirt (I'm a couple lbs heavier than you)- I started at XL and a tight 16/18. I even bought a size 12/14 pair of sweatpants because my XLs were hanging off of me and I broke the string the other day because I I had to tie them so tight  anyways- Congrats! :cheer: you're such an inspiration! :D |
Woah 100lbs since may that's fantastic! Brilliant. Impressed.

Chaotic I swear I could have written that post last year! Except I didnt actually pass all the way out and I was taking a shower! I was on BP meds and I had lost over 100 lbs and I had the same symptoms and had to sit down and put my head in my hands. I couldnt even holler for someone because I was so faint! I am glad you are ok and that you are off your meds now too! Congrats on the medium size shirt and 14's I was very excited with the first time I got into a medium!
|
Congrats on the jeans and no more BP meds!! I can't wait until I can wear all the stuff in the back of my closet again.

You are a wonderful inspiration!

Amazing!! Congratulations on getting off your bp meds, and the size 14 jeans!! What a great booster having your dr show you off to others! I hope your very proud, because I'm very proud for you! Good Job! :)

Congratulations on your wonderful success. When I was much thinner I couldn't get into a hot bath, a hot tub etc because my blood pressure went down. But what a small price to pay for being thin (& healthy). You are truly an inspiration!
