new and just starting

Hi everyone, lot of interesting posts here, great support, makes me excited about weight loss. I am currently at 228.5 pounds down from 239 two weeks ago. I have gradually gained on this weight in the last 9 1/2 years that I have been married, I am 29 now and do not want to be fat anymore...I am watching my calories and fat grams and exercising every other day for now on the treadmill, 30 mins per session.... any encouraging words would be much appreciated.... thanks!

How did you lose all that weight? What weight did you start at?

The first 60lbs I did Calorie counting 1400 calories and 30 fat grams. Since then I have been doing ww. My starting weight was 320 as of January 2002 and Im now at 227. One thing that helped me a ton was exercise, recently I added at least and hour and a half of jogging on my treadmill, and since then the pounds are coming off fast. It takes awhile but it just takes persistence.

weight loss

okay, so I am doing a good thing by going on the 30 fat grams or less, and I too go about 1200-1400 calories...
I bet you feel like a new person...I can't believe how fast it can get out of control. I am 29 and have spent all of my young years
( well 20's anyway ) being heavy and uncomfortable...it is so sad...and for me I was overeating and eating junk food, fast food mainly.
Thanks for the encouraging words, I will check back...gotta work now ;)
and Congratulations!!!

Your doing great that is a good plan, make sure a decent size portion of your diet is protein, either through beans (legumes) or meat. Also make sure you dont go under 1200 since it can put you in starvation mode and stop you from losing weight.

My weight took only 4 years to go from 138 (5 1/2 years ago) till January of last year when I started losing; I also found out I had horrible insulin resistance and hypothyroidism which contributed quite a bit to my weight gain but after being put on medications for them I am doing much better. I am slowly starting to feel like the old me and Im having a ton more energy than the past few years.

Good Luck :)
