Default Hump Day on the Beach!

Ahoy thar maties! Popping in to crank us up fer the day from the Swamplands! It's been torrential downpouring since yesterday morn!!!!! ...Alrighty then, settlin' in with my big Mug of cawfee (with a tich of cinnamon this morn )..Let's catch up with the chicks in da coop!
Kim: Ah Government work --13 days of work! FAB! I hope you get that promotion

Kelly: I hear ya about exercising...kinda like setting up the ironing board and looking at it for a week, and finally ironing... and thinkin, well this aint too bad...

Chellez: your gown choices are gawjus dahlink! A casino themed wedding so fun and creative! DH and I were married by Elvis in the Viva Las Vegas Chapel in Vegas... We had a blast! I vegas! Red Black and White very sharp!

Ebb/Flow: You can DO THIS!!!! You're already seeing the benefits of SBD crave curbing ability! I think the success of that cheese cake recipe has something to do with oven temps .. seems some folks came out runny...others say after they cooled it was better.. Wish I could help more

Obviouschild:Ah in my days of yore I was a night owl...but when I hit my 30s and beyond I'm a morning lark! I love the quietness of the morns, I get to watch the birds eat unfettered and sip me mornin brew in peace! And I get alot done.... unfortunately, that also means that I'm usually in bed for 10:00 Ahhhhh, Politics, very big in the Schatzi household! Why, watching the early returns and election results is bigger than the Superbowl here!

Christian: hmmmmm taco soup is a winter fav here! Soups and Stews and Chilis too..

Barb: Sounds like another Busy Boyscout week!!!!

Cottage: Villanova is a beautiful school! I love the older colleges that are done in the neo gothic style with stone and archs.. the area where you live is one of my favorites --old historic homes made with local stone...just beautiful!

Today looks like I'll be reading all day.. I want to get ahead on my assignments... and I'll finish up one of my Xmas present needlepoints...!

I feel like eggs this morning.... and tonight is baked ziti with WW pasta natch...

So what's goin on in yer little cabana???

We're getting those torrential rains, too, Schatzi. I'm so tempted to not go to Curves this morning, but I'm making myself go. I can't wait to get back home afterwards and have my coffee.

This morning I'm going to do a little Christmas shopping, I've finally decided what to get my brother, who is sooooooooo hard to shop for. He goes out and buys what he wants when he wants, and I have his name this year in our Pollyanna. I think he'll like what I'm getting him, and I'll feel good about getting a start on my holiday shopping.

It's time for me to go for now, I'll pop in when I get back.

Mornin' all. Sorry I've been MIA this week. My dog's been sick, so it's kind of put me off schedule. Didn't get a chance to read all of the posts from the past couple of days, but wanted to wish a happy belated birthday to Cottage! Gotta head off to work. Have a great day y'all!

Yes, happy belated BD to our Cottage! Sorry about your dear dog, Jana. They really are our kids!

It's pouring rain here and I am leaving shortly to take two wet dogs to 4PawsInn and will then take off for Ottawa to pick up my brother, aka The Young Prince, to spend a nostalgia 24 hours with him and my sister. It should be fun. I may be able to pop back in on Thursday but may have to go straight to my Synod in Kingston.

Take care of yourselves and don't give Beachgal and Schatzi a hard time, OK?

Morning ladies - I wonder if I am ever going to hit my target goal? I know it's no one's fault but mine cause I just can't seem to crack down, but still I have visions of 135 dancing in my head. Yesterday the scale at hte gym said 150 which I just can't believe to be right cause I've been doing PRETTY well eating, and am still exercising like mad... Since I'm training for this half marathon I feel like I shouldn't cut any carbs, but it's all still SB friendly stuff for the most part (ie healthy).

Ruth - That sounds great! Getting together with your sis and bro just the three of you, my mom had a cool experience of this recently

Jana - REALLY hope your puppy starts feeling better!

Cottage - Good job on making yourself go to curves, sometimes you just have ot force yourself! Holiday shopping? I'm always a last min kind of person when it comes to this so I envy you!

Schatzi - At first I was jealous cause you get to read all day, and then I realized it wasn't the fun kind of reading... good luck!

Hope all the other chicks have a great day!

Sarah

Morning, ladies. I have a three hour meeting tonight at the council offices so I've told DH to take Brian out to eat. If I get home in time, I'll grab something or this may end up as one of those rare times when I have to grab fast food. Busy day at work so I've got to go but I'll pop in later if I can.

Morning, Morning Ladies.

Please, oh please would someone pass the coffee? We were here at the election center counting votes for 17 1/4 hours last night. I was one of the lucky ones and got out early. There were people here until 4 am, I left at 1:15 am. I ended up being elected "caller" and ended up with a sore throat and no voice. Luckily, most of the people I voted for locally are going to be in office, and that really makes me feel like my vote actually counted.

Lucky for me, I worked out yesterday morning for 40 m and I'm checking out of here at Noon, so I'll be working out at home after work. Plus, I still haven't grocery shopped for the week. I've got some clothes to iron and some laundry to do and we still have our netflix (Secondhand Lions and Nacho Libre) to watch...maybe tonight. We'll see.

Barb - Hope you get all your niggles done. Try to take some time to relax -- you deserve it after all the camping!

Sarah - You're such an inspiration to me. You always seem to do what's best for your body. I hope the scale starts tipping down again for you! We're here if you need support!

Jana: Sorry to hear about your dog. You know, we have a pets page somewhere on our forum. You'll have to read all the stories and see how we get when our pets are going through sickness or vet visits! I'll post a comment there so it will bring it back up to the current page.

Schatzi & Cottage: Stay dry!! Hope it clears up soon. I hear some areas are expecting/experiencing flooding. Be safe!

Well, need to go do my gov work! (Or lack thereof!) Hope everyone has a great day and I hope I get some rest!

Grrr... lost my post right in the middle of it, so I had to start all over!

Schatzi- You're right. I can do this. I think I am just one of those people that has to be very vigilant about those cravings for the first week (or dear God I hope not) weeks. I am very proud. I started day two of Phase I today. Last night I went to the gym when I was craving something. I don't know what I wanted, but to keep from going to find something I worked out. It was 11:15 pm but the gym is in the lobby of our building (locked building) and the gym needs an access card. About the cheesecake I have no clue, but then again I am not the master chef or baker. I have just recently started to enjoy cooking a little. Before it was a chore (that of course I couldn't pawn off on DH). Now, things are looking up, which is a good thing because SB does not include a lot of packaged foods. Hmmm maybe that also contributes to my previous difficulties. I like convenience.

Cottage- I hear you about the gym. I only have to go down the elevator, but boy sometimes that ride is a little difficult to get started on. I have heard somewhere that if you do something for 28 days it becomes a habit. I wonder if it's true. I am thinking of trying it out to see if it is.

Jana- I hope your doggie is feeling much better.

Ruth- Have fun on your trip!! I've only been on for a couple of days, but your encouraging messages have so helpful. But I'm sure I'm in good hands with the rest of the board. I've been on other boards. They aren't all so welcoming.

Sarah- Do you think that 135 is a weight your body will maintain or do you think that it is just a matter of a little more time working to achieve it? Or (I don't know about this one I'm not a marathoner) that your body is holding on to fuel for the amount of training you are doing? Half marathon. Wow. I don't think I could even vision myself running three miles anymore. I used to run, but it's amazing how quickly I got out of the habit of running or working out once I started skipping two and then three days in a row. Maybe one day I could be a workout regular like you. Work it, grrl! Can I just say that when I started lurking on 3fc about a month ago I was trying to decide what I was going to do about this weight. I ran across one of your posts and wondered why you were on a weight loss board. Then (sorry) I looked at some of your posts on here. I have to say that I was really inspired by what you have done already. I thought I would try SB if it could do so well on it and also thought that if there were more positive people like you on this board, this is where I want to be. The near 40 pound weight loss and the fact that you are physically fit. Fantastic. I think that if you have a goal of 135 you can achieve it just as you have your previous goals. Sometimes those last ten or so pounds are the hardest. I know in the past when I lost weight It took longer than I wanted but it eventually came. you can do it. Good luck.

Barb- Three hour meeting. Be still my heart! I hope it's not too bad.

Kim- sounds like you have a busy day of errands too. How great does it feel when the people you want in office are elected. It give a little hope that the things you want to be changed or to receive attention are finally going to get done. I like the democratic system. I don't know if I delude myself, but I like the idea of the people in office working for me (being hired and fired based on performance).

Well, ladies. Off into my day. I will probably take some drugs for this cold that I (my dh and my son) have. I have to get the car inspected for registration (and an emissions test) and then I'll try and get my son to the mall play area (where he got the cold that he passed to his parents) so that he can socialize with other kids. Everyone always makes a big deal about the fact that he's at home with me and that he is an only child so far. "He needs to socialize. He's going to lack some social skills and be unable to separate from you to go to school if he doesn't see other children and stay with other people more often." First, there are a lot of years between 1 and 4 or 5 years old. It's not tomorrow. I get him out into the world. He sees plenty of other people and kids. Plus, what did they think happened to the kids before daycare became the norm? It's funny that what used to be the norm for kids (stay at home with mom) have now become a deficit in some people's eyes. There are different ways to raise kids. Why can't we just say that people should do what works for their family? Like Diets... no one diet works for everyone.

Kim - You are an inspiration to me! You are truly kicking exercises butt and it's just plain awesome!

Ebb - What you said was so sweet that it gave me chills - Thank you so much for the sweetness - Hope you can kick that cold's butt! It really is hard to get into an exercise routine, but really easy to maintain once you get there...

Hey gals!

Sarah I hear you on the getting back on track- I don't know why I am struggling so horribly. What you have going for you is that you are exercising so much!

Cottage I hope that you day was as special as you!

Kim Oh my- you must be wiped out today!!!

to all of our new friends! I hope to be around a bit more to get to know you all!!

I feel so "out of the loop"! The week just gets so busy and then I realize that I haven't posted in days. I am actually home today- I took the girls to daycare today. Abigail complained that her stomach hurt some, but I went ahead and took her. I got a call abut 40 minutes after getting to work. She wasn't acting like herself, real weeping and wanting to sleep. I went and picked her up, thankfully stopped and got a bowl from my mom's in case she threw up on the way home. She sure did! She has been crashed out for almost 3 hours. No fever, so maybe it something she will just sleep off.

I need to rustle up something to eat for lunch... hopefully I will be back later!
