Frustrated SBD Newbie

Hi everyone: My husband and I started the SBD a week ago and I'm already feeling frustrated with the change in eating habits. I work 3rd shift so dieting around the few hours of sleep I get a day is really challenging, but I'm determined to stick with it. I was just diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and the doctor said drop the carbs, sugar and weight and hopefully this will go away. Wish me luck! If anyone has any tips send them my way!

hmm, is 3rd shift like 2-10pm, or overnights? I would say try your best to plan ahead, becasue if youre tired or you don't bring a lunch to work it could be really tricky to try to find something legal..
an easy thing to bring to work would be low carb chili, and very satisfying too.
Or you could have a big salad with bagged mix, grape tomatoes, a bit of shredded cheese and diced sandwich meat (carb free and not too high fat) thats one of the fastest things to slap together for lunch. Then just some dressing in a tupperware mini.
Good luck! I have worked 2-10 AND overnights and both are doable, ;)

I like to make extra of many meals and then I freeze the leftovers for lunches. Some things like sloppy joes make multiple meals. It will get easier once you get to phase 2. Chili is great and so is homemade soup.

Hi, Bailey's Mom, and :welcome: to this Forum. I'm Type II Diabetic too and my doctor is extremely pleased with the results of this plan.
You do have a problem with shiftwork but planning ahead should help. Is there any way you can get more sleep? Studies have shown that lack of sleep can inhibit weightloss.
