Phase 2 question

Hi Chickies!!!

Okay, I lived through phase 1 and am starting phase 2. Now I know that I'm supposed to do one thing a day. The question is...now don't laugh... do I have the same fruit once a day all week at the same time, or do I get to vary the fruit and/or time of day. I'm not trying to be obnoxious, I'm just afraid of doing too much too soon, but, if this doesn't get livable, I won't be able to keep it up.

What did you do? How did it go? The book says a lot of people have trouble going from P1 to P2 because they are afraid of giving up the comfort of knowing exactly what to eat. How do you get past that? Any and all advice and opinions are greatly appreciated.

TIA!!!!

We tend to suggest that you stick with the same fruit for a week to see how your body reacts to it. Some people get cravings from some fruits while others are fine. If you add different things and then get cravings you won't know what set them off.

Once you know what foods you can eat without cravings, and have been in phase 2 for awhile, you will be eating several fruits and grains a day and it is fine to vary them.

Barb (as always!) hit the nail right on the head. :cp:

One fruit (same one) same time all week. Boring, I know, but once you know how it affects you, you will be able to do whatever you want. So add things slowly and one at a time so you get a feel for how they react. Try a low GI fruit first (berries are great) and if it goes well, try a higher GI fruit next time. If you've tried several different kinds of fruit from all levels of GI numbers, you can probably safely assume that you'll react similarly to most other fruit and stop testing them. Does that make sense?

Good luck...I know you'll love P2!!! :)
