Happy Friday everyone!!!! :carrot:

Just a quick note before dashing off to work. After a stressful week, I'm really ready for the weekend. Starting it off by getting my hair permed right after work. No solid plans for the rest of the weekend. What's going on with y'all this weekend?

MsCrockett 04-28-2006 07:00 AM

Good Morning Girls..

Well yesterday, My Math Teacher called from college. I have not been to my Friday Math class the last three weeks. So upon her calling I let her know that I am just discouraged and that the students are so Rude, that her class starts at 9am and by 915 the loud mouths have got me so upset that I get nothing out of her class. I have commented to the girls more than once to shut the crap up.. but deed Nothing seems to sink in,, So My teacher, wants me to finish the class.. so I will be going today and then Finals next Friday.. What ever Powers to be you girls got,,SEND it my way,, as I need any Help I can get in Math!!! Then I get up at 630 this morning, so I can have time alloted for my coffee, cigarettes and breakfast,, I get up at 8am,, and I am good to go , this 630 stuff is for the birds,, Another reason I dont like my Math class, To early... Take Care All

Hi girlies. That Casting Crowns concert was fantastic last night! Nichole Nordeman and Josh Bates were with them. I bought myself a shirt. My voice is shot today. That's what I get for all my singing and carrying on at the concert. Went to bed after 1. Hope you all have a great day. I need to get ready for work.

Lisa

cottagebythesea 04-28-2006 07:54 AM

TGIF! I only have to babysit for 3 hours this afternoon, and maybe even not that long. I have a memorial service to go to this morning at 10 for my dear aunt, and Jake and I are going for an early evening dinner around 5 to celebrate our anniversary. We decided to go to Red Lobster, so it should be easy to stay OP. We had a good time at the Herr's Snack Factory tour yesterday, and I didn't go off-plan at all. I really think having a big lunch beforehand helped. Our next trip is going to be to a pretzel factory, the girls really seem to enjoy watching how foods are made, and they love getting all the free samples, since they don't get it at home.

Jana ~ It must be a relief to have your car back! :carrot: Have a great weekend!

MsCrockett ~ Hang in there, you only have a week to go til Finals, then you won't have to put up with those girls anymore. It will be worth it in the long run. Did you enjoy your day with your nephew yesterday?

Bunna ~ Yes, the Cheesecake Factory does have a SF cheesecake, but it would be too hard for me be to satified with that. They must have at least 25-30 different varieties, and I totally adore cheesecake, so it's just best for me to stay far away from there. :(

Weezle ~ That concert sounded great, I know I would have loved it, too!

:welcome2: all the newbies, and Welcome Back, Jessie!

Ruthxxx 04-28-2006 07:55 AM

Fffffrosty here this morning. I should not have to scrape off my windshield on April 28th! Never mind! Soon I'll be crabbing about the heat!

Jana, you sure do need a relaxing weekend after a week like the one you've had. Are your crocuses still in bloom? Mine are finished.

MsCrockett, good for you in standing up to the MAth teacher. Sounds like you have a bunch of yahoos in the class. I wish I could help you with your math but the commute would be a killer.

Lisa, glad you enjoyed the concert. I know what you mean about being hoarse from "participating". A friend and I drove to Toronto to see Hair when it opened in Canada. (I told you I'm old!) We sang the songs all the way home - a five hour drive in January in a Volkswagon without a heater. Yes, we danced on the stage but that's another story.
Today is not the Friday I planned :( as I have to go to town to work a darn charity BINGO. I wish to heck somebody else would learn the tricky money part! I need to leave at 10:30 and won't be home until 4:30 so my day is pretty well shot. I had hoped to replant the 16 day lilies that Barb and I dug yesterday. Never mind. At least they won't wilt in the sun! MAybe I'll have some energy left to plant them this evening.

The weekend plans? Ha! I have a big Church meeting 9:30 to 3:30 tomorrow followed by a BBQ that's a surprise birthday party. I have to be at the BBQ by 4! (Shhhh....but I am really hoping Lucy goes into labour tomorrow so I can get out of both events. Call me anti-social. Whoops! Just remembered I need to make devilled eggs and a bean salad for the BBQ. Oy vey!

So if y'all don't "see" me much, Google Delta, ON and see if you can spot a blur!

I'm not even going to mention Sunday's schedule.

I hope everyone gets a chance to do some relaxing for me.

Ruthxxx 04-28-2006 07:59 AM

Cottage, sorry about your dear aunt's death. I am sure the memorial service will help you feel a bit better. I hope you and DH have a great anniversary dinner at RL. I've not gone there for years so let me know what it's like.

Oh dear! My reminder just popped up that Candice is coming to clean this morning. I won't have time to "talk" to here so will have to let her just do her usual sloppy job. When I had the Pypers here for dinner, I discovered she has never dusted the diningroom chair seats!

I really have to get going.

MsCrockett 04-28-2006 08:07 AM

Ruth~ Perhaps I could talk to the school administrator and see if you can be Paid to tutor.. that would fix that aye? LOL

Cottage~ The day with the nephew was awesome,, he love his "Nonnie" I play on his level, I will wrestle with him in the floor, he is the Hulk and I am spider man,, then we play the gameboy some, then he has a T-ball set and he love anykind of Ball sport.. he is awesome,, He tells me I am his Best Friend, then if he is playing a game and he wants me to play he says. "but Nonnie you are my #1 winner" boy he know just what to say.. He is the apple of my eye.. I believe you gotta get on there level to play with them and for them to listen, as well.. ohhhhh one day I hope to have two of my own, but **** I am 34, and my ovaries are shriveling up LOL
Thank you for asking.

Happy Friday Chickies!!!

Weekend plans? My daughter's communion is in 2 weeks so I have lots of gardening and house preparing to do. Tomorrow the kiddies are going to finish the last 1.2 miles of a Family Marathon. Its soo cool, they logged 25 miles on their own then do the last 1.2 with everyone else that did it. They get the real marathon medal and the real T-shirt. With a little luck, they will learn to love exercise because its fun and not grow up to look like their mom.

MsCrockett, I am so impressed that you were able to say your peace to your math teacher. Its only 1 week to finals and then its all over. Good luck!

Cottagebythesea, have a super time at dinner tonight. I don't know about sugar free cheesecake. I wish you luck whatever you decide!

Jana, I'm sure your hair will be even more beautiful when you're done. Good for you taking care of yourself.

Ruth, on another thread you suggested newbies (like me!) go to a newbie thread, but I couldn't find it. Which one were you pointing us to? Thanks.

Have a happy Friday everyone!!!!

pearshape 04-28-2006 08:35 AM

Mornin' chicks. Just a quick hey. I'm running late and still have to eat b'fast, shower and do some last minute cramming for exam at 2:30. I'm not doing P1 today, I need the carbs for brain power so am having oatmeal with blueberries this morning. I'll hop back on P1 tomorrow. Have a great day chickies.

cottagebythesea 04-28-2006 09:16 AM

Sheesh! I just talked to Jake, and he's insisting that we should go to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner, since it's our anniversary and we should do something special. He says one non-OP meal isn't going to kill me, and I'm making too big of a deal about it. :?: He wants to go out, have a good meal and a few drinks together, then says I can get right back on track tomorrow. What do you gals think?

Schatzi 04-28-2006 09:25 AM

cottagebythesea 04-28-2006 09:43 AM

Schatzi ~ Yeah, all these day trips to factory tours! :D I'm just getting desperate for finding things to do with the kids! Once the warmer weather is here to stay, it won't be so bad, we can be outside more and won't be so bored.

Barb0522 04-28-2006 09:49 AM

jana - Have a great weekend and do relax! That's what the weekend is for.

MsCrockett - I will have you know that 34 is not too old (although I did have some fertility issues). Brian was born when I was 34. Of course the thought of having another now that I am 43 is just terrifying! And I've come to enjoy sleeping through the night.

weezle - That sounds like a lot of fun! I can remember many years ago screaming myself hoarse at a Styx concert when I was in high school.

cottage - If you can't convince your husband to go to Red Lobster then I say study the menu first at the Cheesecake Factory and choose as close to OP as you can. If you do decide to eat a dessert that isn't OP, try to stick to the three bite rule. And enjoy yourself if you are going to eat it.

Ruth - Busy as always. Have a great day!

kmy68 - My son's school did Marathon Kids this year for the first time but we just didn't manage to get the jogging done. I think he probably did it but didn't keep track well enough. Look in the Frequently Asked Question section for the Newbie thread. If you can't find it, just post and I'll go get the link but there are lots of good stickies in that section.

pear - good luck on your exam!

Schatzi - Send some of that sun this way! Right not I'm not sure how our garage sale will work. The rain is predicted to last until around 9 tomorrow morning. We might be able to have it if we start late. Otherwise, I'll have to reschedule with the church where we are having it and that may be tough.

We had a meeting yesterday at the school where the Intermediate REACH program is being held next year. All the 4-6th grade Talented/Gifted kids in the school district will go there for one full day each week. They have three teachers in three connected classrooms with lots of great things for the kids to do. It does look like more work but the challenge will be good for Brian. During Primary REACH, he has had it at his own school but this will be better, I think.

Schatzi 04-28-2006 09:51 AM

Cottage: I say GO and have a wonderful anniversary! They have a fairly extensive menu so I'm sure you can find things that won't be too off plan! And well, if you indulge a bit... just get right back to it the next day!

RNMOM 04-28-2006 10:42 AM

Hi all

Just a quick peck-in, plan on spending most of the day outside in the sunshine! Yippee, there is some!

Not much going on here, I am glad for a weekend!

SunLit 04-28-2006 10:42 AM

Cottage, I recently went to the Cheesecake Factory and ordered a petite filet mignon with steamed broccoli and sauteed vegetables for a side. Very close to OP, if not entirely fine and it was delicious! Other good options are the grilled salmon and chicken dishes.

I didn't have dessert -- the sugar-free cheesecake had way too much fat for me, plus I was stuffed after my dinner.

Have a lovely anniversary and enjoy yourself!

annarenee 04-28-2006 11:28 AM

Good Morning all -

So far, I am having a darn good Friday. Not only is it Friday, but it's a payday Friday. woohoo, I can pay my rent (hehe).

I ended up buying DBF a birthday cake yesterday (after serveral dropped hints that morning) and had a piece. It was so good. And all that sugar from the icing and chocolate kicked in about 8 and I cleaned up the apartment :D. Other good news yesterday after DBF searching for nearly 2 months, he finally found a job! woohoo, we can eat! Okay, it hadn't gotten that bad...but I was starting to worry a little. We are spending the weekend continuing to celebrate his birthday. Tonight we'll be out with his friends that live in the suburbs and Saturday we'll be out with city friends. Heaven forbid we pick a place in the middle and all meet up!:p

Besides the cake, I stayed OP yesterday. I am gearing up for a big grocery trip this weekend as DBF is beginning SBD on 5/2. He's pretty excited, except for the caffeine limit. He keeps saying '16 oz of coffee a day...that's gonna suck!' I thought about trying to convince him to cut it out completely...but I've seen him on no caffeine and it's not pretty :fr:

Has anyone ever noticed that the :carrot: and :cb: dance to just about any music on the beat. I'm listening to Velvel Revolver and they are jammin' :D

Crock - Way to stand up to that teacher. Just remember it will all be over soon.
Cottage - I am sorry to hear about your aunt
Ruth - I need to find a sofa and nap after reading your weekend schedule.

Hi to everyone else

Have a good weekend all

smokepole 04-28-2006 12:09 PM

Hi all, I'm new here this week. I'm discouraged. I've stayed on plan the whole week and today is day 5...no weight loss. I'm so sad. Nothing I do seems to work. I had been doing LA Weight Loss and when I had a bad allergic reaction to something the doctor put me on prednisone. That was 18 months ago and I cannot lose weight for nothing now. Today I got up and jean that fit me last week are tight. What gives??

On a brighter note. Cottage: check out this website for some of "Cheesecake Factory" food items. http://www.dwlz.com/Restaurants/cheescakefact.html

It's on Dottie's Weight Loss zone. She has lots of restaurants there. Lots are done for Weight Watchers points, but also list the fat, carb, protein amount. Don't know if it will help you stay on plan or not.

Good luck.

Bunnababy 04-28-2006 01:41 PM

Good morning, although back East it is afternnoon now. :coffee:

Cottage: I totally agree it would be hard to eat the ff cheesecake when there are so many others available  . Perhaps the way to go is to eat any on-plan meal and ask your dh to share a dessert. That way he is happy and you are not too far off-plan. No matter what you do Happy Anniversary and wishing you many many more. :balloons:

Gonna have to watch myself because I am at the stage in PI where I don't want to eat much and I get myself messed up.:kickbutt: I should say my body doesn't want to eat at all for very long periods so I have to eat by the clock. Sounds bizarre that someone who weighs what I weigh could ever not be wanting food but this happened the first time too. The result is that the last two days I haven't been eating breakfast and only eating salad for lunch and then a dinner and then snack when I get home. So today must pay attention and get those good foods in. I am thinking about just eating snack size amounts for the six times today and see if that works better for me. I know my blood sugar is getting all screwy when I don't eat properly and that is just asking for a disasterous binge on non SBD foods. :frypan:

Everyone have a great day on the beach today. :beach: :dust: to all.

JessieW 04-28-2006 02:32 PM

Well, I think I have reached my creative limit for the day. OK, mostly I am just transferring corrections from a sheet of paper to the computer program, but that gets draining after awhile!
I ate well yesterday but not completely OP for phase 1. And today, lots of fruit. I just need to set in my mind on a specific date. SIGH. I have stuff to make lowfat enchiladas, so I guess I better do that tonight! And I also have stuff for Phase1 TACO BAKE. OH HOW I MISSED YOU TACO BAKE!!!!!
Anyway--weekend! Hallelujah! I may just end up bumming around/cleaning some. We are having a potluck picnic at church tomorrow night but it is supposed to rain, so they may call it off. Which would probably be better for my body anyway!! I got a brownie mix to make...you know, sometimes, your body and mind just don't cooperate. Ruth, your weekend makes me want to crawl in bed anymore. Rainy weekend are perfect for sleeping and movies and cuddling with the hubby.

Have a nice night and weekend. :)
Jessie
