Soybean hummus
Hey there....I found a type of hummus made with soybeans instead of chickpeas (I don't like chickpeas). Any reason I should shy away from it? Here are the facts:
Serving: 2 tbsp Calories: 45 Fat: 2.5g Sat. Fat: 0.5g Cholesterol: 0 mg Dietary Fiber: 1 g Protein: 3 g On-line info doesn't specify, but I don't recall there being any sugar in it. It's Tribe of Two Sheiks garlic-flavored, in case anyone's interested. |
Funny you should mention this! I went to the Tribe website for the very first time yesterday and also read about the soybean hummus and was curious about it.
I found a statement on their site that says 0 sugar for the soybean hummus, so it should be ok. I'm really curious about the flavor, so if you try it, please let us know how it is :) |
The soybean hummus is very good. It has a nicer texture than chickpea hummus and the flavor is lighter. Overall less pasty, both in taste and texture. The garlic version is the one I tried and it has lots of zing!
