3darlings - I'm sure many people know I rarely touch a salad (except 3 bean salad, I love that). Some of the favorite ways to eat vegetables in our household are: add spinach to casseroles and pasta dishes, the Soy Ginger Asparagus dish in the original SB cookbook, garlic mustard green beans, Kale and Black bean dish, Mushroom Medley, roasted veggies, steamed broccoli, spinach cooked with garlic and chicken broth and chili. I also make Eggplant parmesan (baked not fried) and I like to lightly cook cabbage and serve dishes over it that I would normally serve rice with. Oh, I forgot about the brussel sprout recipe where they are cooked with turkey bacon. Oh, and the pork and pepper salad recipe is a hot salad so I love that. And there are always dishes like stir fry. I also eat raw veggies as snacks. I prefer zucchini, cauliflower and red pepper.

Good morning chickies! :p
Hoosier - thank you so much for sharing that water article. I was really stressing about not drinking enough plain water - especially when I love the little to go Crystal light packets!! :carrot: I must say - that article about the SBD frustrated me a little when I read it. I'd like to tell the researchers - "I'm down 9 lbs in 3 weeks - how do you like them apples??" :s: I'm doing Phase 1.5 right now - and I've never felt so naughty while eating a piece of 9 grain bread with my veggies and eggs for breakfast yesterday! Just to let everyone know - I added 3 new chili recipes that I created to the Phase 1 chili recipe section. Sorry I can't respond to everyone individually - so a simple  to all! |
So this week is National Lutheran Schools Week. They plan it so every day at school is a different fun dress-up day. Today is Blue and White day (our school colors,) tomorrow is Hawaiian/Tropical day, Wednesday is Sports Team day, Thursday is Pajama day, and Friday is Dress Up day. I have gotten into trouble today for what someone told my boss that I'm going to wear tomorrow. Someone "overheard" me telling someone else what I was going to wear tomorrow and changed the story, telling Frank, and I was warned to make sure I'm professional.
I'm going to wear my 51-year-old mother's tropical flower dress. It's full-length and has a slit up each side (to the KNEE.) It's also sleeveless, and I'm wearing a black sweater over the top of it. Whoever told Frank what I was wearing told him that it had a slit all the way up and I was wearing a STRAPless dress, not SLEEVEless, and they omitted the sweater over the top part. I'm tired of getting into trouble and getting warnings, etc, when I haven't even PLANNED to do anything wrong. Better get back to work. I have a lot of stuff to get done. Just wanted to vent a little. Sorry I haven't been my usual self lately. I'm kind of *****y lately and I don't mean to be. I AM JUST SO SICK OF IT!!!!! Just wait, girlies. Next week is PMS week. :D Hope you all are fine and dandy. Back to work! Lisa |
Just checking in......
Weezle I hope you hear something back on the applications you have been putting in. :crossed: Good day here so far! I scrubbed the kitchen floor and cleaned DD's bedroom. More picked up, it needs a good baseboard scrub, but that will be tomorrow. As soon as Dh gets back from the bookstore, we are heading out to pick up DD's friend. We have to make a quick stop at Walmart and then home for a bit. She has dance class tonight, so we will drag her friend along with us. I thought about letting her skip tonight, but dance isn't cheap, so I really don't want her to miss any classes. It is an absolutey gorgeous day here in Dallas- we have all of our windows open- lots of fresh air for us! :sunny: Later gals..... |
I went to my weigh & measurment for the month at Curves. I lost 8", 7.6 #'s, and 1.3% Body Fat this month. That totals me at 23" from January 3, 2006 and 24.6 lbs. I wanted to be down 30lbs by the 3rd of March, but I guess I wll try a different goal. My new goal is be down about 40-45lbs by April 3,2006.

Great job Bella - I just joined Curves, so hopefully I will see results too!
Weezle - Sounds like you have a few jealous folks around you. HOW can your boss give you a "WARNING" if you haven't done anything. Why isn't he "WARNING" the gossiping folks? Sounds like a jackass, I'm sorry a "professional" jackass. Yes, I will post pics of the cake.....after all that hard work? I'm going to show it off! It really won't be that bad.....4 tiers (14, 12, 10, 8 ) all white buttercream - no design, & sister wants their initials on the top. I found a great site that sells them for $5.00. I decided that while I was home in July for the shower, I would back the cake, do the syrup, and maybe the crumb laver, then freeze them. My grandmother has a huge freezer & I'm sure she will let me borrow some room for a month. That way when I get down there for the wedding I just have to ice & stack (much less stress!) I forgot to tell you another thing I'm doing for sis....this is a surprise - I am going to put small pics of her & mom on cardstock & tie ribbon on the cardstock & then tie the ribbon around her bouquet so mom can be near her. I read about the idea & thought it was a wonderful idea. Maybe I should quit retail & start in the wedding business! |
Soon ~ I love your idea of the pictures! What a wonderful way to include your mother. I sure hope your sister appreciates you!
