Hello again from Indpls. IN. Sun is shining and we don't have much snow left. Had to stay home from Bible study this morning because DD is coughing. She has been sick a lot this winter. She is only 2.5.
Last night was card club. I have never seen a stranger selection of food. It was like no main course! The only protein was ham chunks mixed up in a potato dish. It was tasty but I was trying so hard not to eat the potatoes. I can say that I didn't eat the garlic bread at all. I didn't eat any of the candy in the dishes on the table. The other food w/meal was asian cole slaw and green beans that had something on them, you couldn't see it but they tasted different. I did eat a sliver of pie that had lemon pudding in it. But I'm very happy to be right back on plan today. Today would have been day 14 of Phase 1 for me. I don't know how you count it when you have to go off for a meal. I'm just going to eat like I have been today.
We are waiting for a tax refund any day now and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!! I have so much that I "need" and some "wants" also!!!

Kiko, congratulations for getting back to your pre-pregnant weight! :bravo: I know how hard that is to do - my youngest is 34, and I'm still working on getting that weight off, LOL!

Soon2BFab, Yes, I LOVE Curves! I joined almost 2 years ago, and it's the only exercise program I've ever been able to stick to. I actually look forward to going, and try to go 5-6 days a week.

Well, time for me to go pick up Audrey. Maggie is still sick, so she's staying home with Mommy and Audrey and I are taking ourselves out to lunch and meeting some of her schoolmates for an afternoon at Boomers. I made a pot of Portugese Stew for supper tonight. We'll probably have our Valentine's dinner out this weekend, and just exchange cards today.

wow I missed a lot in just a day or so...

I've been sick as a dog! Whatever it was flew in sapped the life right out of me-I've been sleeping for the last 30 hours. I've neglected my poor kids and hubby but I'm getting better. I also haven't eaten in 2 days so the scale awarded me with a 2lb loss, I don't imagine that will stick...

so last night hubby comes home after work to find me dying in bed, but when he lays down in makes the bed move and makes me nauseaus. So being a good hubby, he sleeps down on the couch and this morning when I get up there are 3 beautiful bouquets of tulips(my favs) all around the house. Man when I feel better he's def gonna get some:devil:

I need something to eat but when i open my fridge I just feel so blah, I think fruit might help

Howdy hi girlies! :val1: HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!! So far, as the school secretary, I have received orange roses from my Secret Pal, and Skittles Gum from one of the students. Whew. I can avoid the gum. No chocolate! Woo hoo!

I hope everyone's day is wonderful today. I'm busy working on this reception I have to throw and prepare all the food for (for 300 people.) Coming up with the grocery list is pretty.... interesting, that's for sure. Busting out the math again. You mean I have to use my brain???

Besides my burning throat and chest last night from the running, I had a decent work out last night. I'll be getting at least 60 minutes tonight, too, so I'm going to be staying on track!

Ooh, lunch time! I'm going to have some soup. Talk to you girls later! Have a blessed V-Day!

:val1: Happy Valentine's Day!!! :val1:

Hi everyone, just a quick after-lunch drive-by. DH was sweet and surprised me by coming to the lab to take me to lunch! I was all ready to heat up some leftovers and suddenly, there he was! (Awwww) He was planning on going to a sports bar with me, but I talked him into a California cuisine place where we could get stir-fries (much better than a greasy :burger:) He was all about it, and he got a thin crust :jeno: Tonight he has a gig at our church so I'll probably stay in and watch Gilmore Girls. Yes, I'm almost 30 and I still love that show :s:

Having a rough time with the miscarriage. Waiting for it to be physically over but the darn thing is TAKING ITS TIME. I have to go in for a blood test tomorrow (again - yuk) and I'm praying that it will be the last. Also, since Thursday THREE of my friends announced their pregnancies, and it's kind of hard for me because we would have been due around the same time. I am happy for them, but sad  I know eventually I will be nothing but thrilled for all three of them  but it's kind of hard still being in the mourning stage of things...

Anyway, I hope all of you are doing great and having a wonderful Valentine's Day! :val2:

Had a great weekend as far as food goes and then today hit me like a ton of bricks, I will have to put in some serious time at the gym tonight. DH brought me roses, a card and 2 chocolate donuts (thats what I get for telling him I was craving them) I know he just wants to make me happy and it is thoughtful that he got them for me...just hard to muster up the willpower to resist them.

freaky - so glad to hear you are doing well hun. I have not been doing the best with exercise but have been right on track with my food choices. Change that ticker girl!

pinkeagle - I wish I lived in FL! Went on a cruise that departed from there. My husband applied for a job out there but found a better one while they were deliberating.

demeter - love your new avatar...

kiko - congrats on your loss!

batmomm - I hope you get to feeling better, being sick is the pits. I think I may be coming down with something. Sounds like your husband is sweet.

weezle - 300 people, sounds like you have your hands full girl!

christina - I know it is hard and you definitely deserve to have as much time as you need to get through this, I am sure your friends understand how bittersweet their news is. I too love gilmore girls hehe.

Hope you ladies have a great OP day!

weezle 02-14-2006 04:19 PM

So the whole "no chocolate" thing went right out the window. I received a box of assorted candies from Peases (took one and gave the rest to my boss.) Then I received a GIGANTIC sugar cookie that the kids decorated with icing. (Gave that to my boss too.) But then.... I received the bag of Hershey bar minis, Reese's PBCup minis, and Hershey Kisses. Crap.

They're sitting in my desk drawer with the Weight Watcher points written on the outside of the bag so I know how many I can have. Come onnnnnn will power! At least no one got me Fannie Mae Mint Meltaways. *drool* They need a drool smiley too.

The really nice thing, though, is that DH came in with a red rose and a card! Surprise! I was like blastaratafratzasassafrassic because he got me underwear that was too big, and here he took off work and brought me a rose. What a guy! Of course, he handed me the receipt right after. Maybe when I get home, the dishes will be done.... nah. I won't push it. :D

Hope you all are holding up!

Happy Valentines Day :val1:

Today is also my 14th Anniversary but DH has been sick and I am trying not to get it. He did leave me a wonderful note this morning and called me this afternoon to see if I wanted him to bring home something from Dairy Queen (Blizzard) but I was strong and said  . We'll celebrate later on this month when we both feel better. Instead, I made a SB Fudgesicle/Peanutbutter cup for later tonight.

Christina~~Hang in their Sweetie

Freaky~~You are kicking our @sses in the exercise dept. :bravo:

Congrats to those who have moved there tickers in the right direction!!

Ughh!

Ok, last night as I was reading my 5 yr old daughter a bedtime story we were being silly with each other and she pokes me in my tummy and says you're fat, but it's because you ate too much candy when you were a little kid. :(

At first I wanted to cry...I had to tell myself that she wasn't saying it to be mean she was just saying it. My DD always says what pops into her head. And the way she said it, her tone was almost like...it's ok, it was the candy...and then she went back to reading the book. KIDS!!

I haven't lost any weight in almost 2 weeks, it's starting to get on my nerves. I am sticking to the plan, however I have not started exercising...I'm just so not into going back to the gym. :tired:

And to top it all off, I am craving chocolate like crazy, I want a box of chocolates. So far no one has given me anything for v-day, my dh and I are going out to dinner tonight to celebrate though.

Today's menu
b- thin veal cutlet (not fried) and eggplant with tomato sauce
s - none
l - southwestern grilled chicken salad, iced tea
s - none
d - seafood, iced tea

weezle 02-14-2006 04:57 PM

Ohhhhhhhh Sarah. I notice that you've skipped your snacks today. You have to make sure you get your snacks in on this plan even if you're not particularly hungry. Handful of nuts, LF string cheese, celery with Light Laughing Cow or Natural Peanutbutter, SOMETHING. That's what keeps your blood sugar regulated.

Also, make sure you're getting all 64+ oz of water a day. Try upping your fiber with more veggies (4.5 cups per day REQUIRED) and maybe some beans.

And definitely DEFINITELY start working out!!! Don't want to hit the gym? Go to Walmart and buy the Biggest Loser Workout DVD ($9.00.) It's awesome and has several different work outs to choose from, including a low-impact one if you're not ready for high-impact yet. I was never an exercise kind of person (ask any of the girls who have been around here for awhile) but I started doing it in January and I LOVE it now. You'll see a lot more weight drop!

Good luck to you and welcome to the Beach! :welcome: If you have any questions or just need to talk, we're all here for you!
