A little confused...
 

I did South Beach back in 2004 and I followed the menues in the book. I had to re-order my book, but I distinctly remember a phase 1 recipe calling for nonfat sour cream.
Then recently I heard that sour cream and cream cheese are only for phase 2? Are they in the book's list of foods to avoid for P1? Before my new book arrives...

Please check out the Phase I Revised Food List in the Frequently Asked Questions Forum. You will see sour cream (2T) and cream cheese (2T) under condiments as long as they are fat free or low fat.
