Monday Madness Chat

Good Morning!!!
Yes I know I'm up early this morning...I have a meeting at 7am. My boss is cruel! Doesn't she know I was up late watching the SuperBowl?
The eating this weekend was terrible.....even worse because I bet Pearsy I would lose more weight than her! I gotta kick myself into shape so I can beat the rat girl (hehe - Pearsy!)
Fri night, DF & I went to down town Detroit to see everything for the Superbowl....I was hopeing for at least 1 celebrity siting, but no. Detroit stinks...really it does. After about 2.5 hours, I jumped into the middle of traffic for a taxi & $50 later we where home......$50 what a rip off!
Well I must go & get ready for work.....grr!
Chat with you later...have a great OP day!

FocusedThisTime 02-06-2006 06:29 AM

'Mornin all. Off to 6 am spinning. I wish my discipline around food were as good as my discipline around exercising. I love to spin!
Scale hasn't budged. And I didn't go to a superbowl party and overeat! Somehow, seems spending my weekend eating right and exercising should have produced some reward. I need some sort of scale - budging tactic. WW used to call it a plateau buster. Any ideas???

Kiko 02-06-2006 06:47 AM

Morning Soon and Focused!

Quick drive by to check in. I have to get both girls out of the house this morning, so I shouldn't even be checking in!

Evening eating was great last night, although I over ate during the Super Bowl. No chance the scale is going to be down tomorrow for my weekly weigh-in. I did it to myself though!

Gotta jet!

Mamacita 02-06-2006 06:57 AM

Good morning, Chickies~~ :coffee:

Freezing my heinie this morning. We have a storm system that developed and we could see as much as 2" of snow. Woooo....

Had fun at my knit-in yesterday. Completed two of my UFO's. A hat for me and a pair of mitts for Miss Mary. I'll give them to her on Wednesday. She'll be so happy. :)

Did so-so on the eating. Marilyn's dh made a pot of chili. I had 1 bowl (with a couple of saltines) and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese over the top. And a very small serving of Stephanie's broccoli salad. It was sweet and I'm not sure if she used sugar or Splenda. And it's chock-full of raisins and peanuts.

Focused--A plateau is our body's way of adjusting to a new fit. You've lost weight and you don't want to look like you're wearing someone else's skin, so your body takes some time to shrinkwrap itself. Don't worry unless the stall lasts for longer than a month or so. If that's the case, then you need to do something to shake things up.

If you're eating a very low caloric program, add some calories. If you've been focusing on cardio, then maybe add some weights to your program. If you haven't been faithful to the 4 Cups A Day rule or haven't gotten your daily 8 on water, then start doing those.

Another little thing you might want to do is try adding more spice to your life. Add hot sauce, cinnamon, pepper, anything that is thermogenic and will help rev up your metabolism. Esp, cinnamon. It's great for helping our bodies utilize the insulin we produce.

freaky 02-06-2006 07:43 AM

Good Morning Ladies,

Looks like a slow morning around here, is everyone recovering from the Superbowl festivities? I myself had a terrific time at dinner and Phantom of the Opera. At intermission, the man sitting next to my father said something about it being halftime instead of intermission, I think he was in the wrong venue. My father doesn't even watch sports and didn't even know who was playing. :) Anyway, I used to live in Butler PA for about ten years which is about 40 minutes outside of Pittsburgh...sooooo glad I missed all the insanity that would come with the Steelers playing in the Superbowl. I think I still have a terrible towel somewhere even though I was never into watching sports myself.

I had a killer meal and not OP but it's not often I can afford to go to a restaurant like that one and last night the folks were paying the bill :D

Oh and CRK05.....CONGRATS!!!

Hope everyone has a great Monday.

pearshape 02-06-2006 07:45 AM

Good morning, chickies! Yesterday was a good eating day but I may have overdone it on the nutz. Instead of grabbing a handful I took the whole bag of pistachio's on the couch. I shared them with the rats and my dog. "One for you, one for me.." :D! Other than that I've been eating in a good calorie range and zig zagging my calories so my metabolism doesn't stall, at least I hear that works so I'm trying it.

I put on 2# since I'm still on TOM but have lost those plus one! yay! I still may lose more once TOM is over for good. I have to lose weight because not only did I bet Soon who would lose more weight but I want my bf to notice a difference when I see him next month. He says he doesnt care but whatever! I care! Today I have to stick to 1300 calories which is always tough for me to go below 1400 but I will do it. I think I'll have a b'fast burrito this morning.

The rest of the day will be spent studying, grading, and doing laundry. Whats going on in your part of the sand today?

crk05 02-06-2006 08:00 AM

Good morning chicks! I was up at 6:00 today, unbelievable! This pregnancy has turned me into an "early to bed early to rise" sort, not like me at all. So far I am barely managing to eat anything but it's all been on program, LOL. Not that I'm going for weight loss anymore, but I have lost 2.5 pounds since I last weighed-in. I will just be grateful when food starts to seem appealing again and that lovely pregnancy weight gain begins! Well, I'm very excited, but still keeping my fingers crossed tightly that I get through the first trimester and still have a viable pregnancy. My miscarriage last time definitely has caused me to keep my excitement a little guarded.

Soon2BeFab ~ Sorry you got kind of a run-around looking for Super Bowl celebs!

Focused ~ I hope you enjoy your spinning!

Kiko ~ I'm glad that you had a good time last night!

Mamacita ~ That knit-in sounds like a lot of fun!

Freaky ~ I'm glad that you enjoyed the show. at the guy who referred to intermission as halftime. Hilarious. There was a guy in one of my economics classes in college who would always refer to the break that our professor gave us in the middle (it was a three-hour class) as "halftime".

pearshape ~ Pistachios can be so addictive! My husband will eat half a bag in one sitting if he can get away with it.

Have a great on-program :sunny: day everyone!

Ruthxxx 02-06-2006 08:00 AM

Good morning! We got a sprinkle of snow last night and more is on the way. This means that the lake in the dog yard has frozen before it turned into a mud swamp! What a strange winter! My snowdrops bloomed at the end of January and will probably not be back until the end of this month.

Mamacita, thanks for refreshing my memory on cinnamon! I had forgotten that and will get back to having cocoa and cinnamon in my morning coffee, plus Splenda, of course.

Soon, I must admit I was not impressed with Detroit either, especially the airport. Do you live in a suburb? Or would that be in Windsor?

Focus. Mamacita is right about getting off the plateau. Check out the "rules". I shouldn't even be sticking in my two cents as I've been stuck for about three months.

Kiko, the litle ones will keep you busy today! Maybe a good load of water today will help you drop a bit before your weigh-in.

Freaky, wasn't Phantom great!!!! Now don't worry about eating off programme. You know it doesn't count when somebody else pays for it. I love your Dad for not being a sports fan. Mine was the same although he did agree to watch the Grey Cup if Ottawa was playing.

Pearshape, I've stopped buying pistachios for that very reason. :( My Girls like them, shells and all, and I can't nibble on them without two pair of eyes gazing longingly. I hope the TOM weight drops fast for you. Thanks for posting those recipes yesterday. Like most of yours, they look great!

I must confess that yesterday was the first day in a long time that I have actually eaten what I planned on fitday. I start the day with good intenetions but they sometimes fall apart. Today should be another good day - that's the plan anyhow. I'm in charge of the teatime at my painting class this afternoon and will take cookies and fruit but will also bring along a small container of yoghurt for myself.

Painting is the new love of my life. Who knew? I spent 5 hours at the kitchen table yesterday and didn't even think of food. I guess it's my new diet aid along with wearing the tooth-bleaching tray thingie.

Gotta get cracking and get some more stairwell and cellar tidying done. I leave for painting at 12:30 and time's a'fleetin'.

Ruthxxx 02-06-2006 08:03 AM

Christina, we were posting at the same time. I must have missed your big announcement so went back and found it. I am sure you will have a good pregnancy this time, especially since you are taking good care of yourself. I'm lifting my :coffee: to you and your wee bundle.

texasheathers 02-06-2006 08:19 AM

Hey all - looks like everyone mostly survived the super bowl without having too bad of an eating day.

I had a terrible weekend in general - a slice of thin curst pizza on Saturday after spending the morning with my mom and the kids at the Children's Museum - and a greek salad to go with it - should have just had the greek salad!! And then - that night - at a birthday party - another slice of pizza and I licked my fingers after holding a cupcake for Marshall Bean to eat - we both had cupcake all over us. And he ate FOUR (well - a lot of it ended up in the grass outside) - and he's only a year old. I don't know what I was thinking letting him do that - but he kept trying to climb the cabinet to get to them - so I just let him have at it. Big misteake though - he was up until 1 am!!

And then Sunday - we had hot wings for lunch - which wasn't too bad - but I think you are not supposed to eat wings - but at least it was just grilled with hot sauce - it could have been much worse! And then of course - we went to a Super Bowl party and that was my final downfall - I did not snack - but I did have a margarita and a hot dog.

All this probably would not be TOO detrimental except I'm still on Phase 1!!!

BUT - the good news is - I'm only up ONE POUND today. SO - If I survive that and am only up a pound - I will consider myself LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY.

Thank God this is not Atkins - because all this would have set me back sooooo far. I did Atkins before - it sucked.

Ok - that's about it for me!! I'm glad everyone had a pretty good weekend!!

beach bum 02-06-2006 08:41 AM

Good Morning Chicks:)

Hugs :) BB

djmommy 02-06-2006 08:48 AM

Well Sounds like I am in the same boat as most of you. I did weigh myself yes and I was up only a pd but I refused to see the damage today. I am going back on phase 1 for a few days. It started out Friday night at a resturant we went to at a spur of the moment. I did ok except for the drinks, and that always opens up the door for the sweet tooth later. Sat, my intentions were good but my dh has been sooo good eating all my food preps that I think he needed a day off. He made bq ribs and chicken, made pizza bread etc. I did eat some but could have gone crazy myself. Than of course there was super bowl I wilnot even go there. All I can say is I am glad it is Monday. I am joff to work out hard and it is fish tonight and salads and no carbs for a few days.Soon I just moved out of MI .I miss home so much. I am glad to hear it was not that big of deal. A fews of my friends did go too some parties there and walked around they said it was ok. I was really wishing we could have just driven around ther to see the change Det. made for the time anyway. I hope everyone has a great day.

cottagebythesea 02-06-2006 08:53 AM

Good Morning!
Every Monday I've been saying the same thing, and I'm gonna say it and mean it this time - A new week, a new start! I am ashamed of the way I've been eating these past few days, and I am determined to get and stay OP. I started today with a good workout at Curves, and had a zucchini & cheese omelette, so I'm on the right path, anyway.
We had our youngest GD all weekend while my DD and SIL finished a remodeling job, so OUT went my plans for a quiet, relaxing weekend! We had a lot of fun with her, though, and she is a really good baby. She kept us really busy, though!
I just got a phone call from Cindy, and she needs me to take the girls to their swim lessons this evening, so it'll be a late night for me. So I'd better get moving and pack myself some lunch and supper to go.
Have a super day!

SunLit 02-06-2006 09:03 AM

Ooo, did I ever have wicked cravings this weekend. Ridiculous ones, too, like yearning for PopTarts. I don't like PopTarts and never have, but there was a box at my parents' house humming its sugary promises at me. I didn't eat any. Nor did I have any of the giant ice cream cake that was just randomly in the freezer. Now, ice cream cake (the Carvel variety with chocolate crunchies) is probably my favorite food item on the planet and I informed my family that it was the cruelest thing they could do to me.

But...I did not have any, ate only OP all weekend and the scale rewarded me by dropping four pounds since last weigh-in. I've decided to weigh in on Monday mornings, officially. If it's a good number, then it'll improve my early week outlook. If it's a bad number, well, Mondays suck anyway.

And, I'm back at work and at my own apartment where it's always easier to eat healthy, so cravings shouldn't be a problem.

Is anyone familiar with a place called Planet Smoothie? I had a smoothie over the weekend that was simply outstanding and I'm hoping many more might be in my future. It has cherries, vanilla yogurt, ice and some kind of protein blast. It's part of a low-carb shake line, so it was sugar-free, 150 calories and (I think) 2 grams of fat. I'm going to try to make my own sometime this week.

Have a good Monday everyone! And congratulations to Christina on your big news!

ncola 02-06-2006 09:07 AM

Mornin' all! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Last night I was forced to watch the Superbowl with my fanatic bf, but all in all it wasn't too bad. I'm learning more and more about football-- it was only a few months ago that I thought that the offense and defense for both teams were always on the field, at the same time (meaning both quarterbacks would always be on the field)! Who knows, in 10 years I may even grow to like this sport.

So I know I've been posting for like a week, but today is my first actual day on the SB Diet. For breakfast I had the spinach quiche cup thingies, which only enforced my belief that spinach should only be eaten raw in a salad. For lunch I plan on having a salad with some grilled chicken and a sugar-free jello. I brought 3 snacks today, just in case I get unbearably hungry-- some grape tomatoes, sunflower seeds, and a string cheese. Over the weekend I made a batch of chili and froze it in little containers, so that will be my dinner. I think I'm off to a good start so far, hopefully it continues!

Legally Blonde was on TV over the weekend, so I will leave you with some wisdom from none other than Elle Woods:
"Exercise gves you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbads."

So for all of you out there with significant others, the next time your honey gives you trouble, go exercise! It just might save you from a life sentence! :judge:

batmomm2000 02-06-2006 09:13 AM

morning!!
well I've got the super bowl hangover- not from drinking but from eating. At the first party I stuck mostly to fruit so that's fine, maybe too much fruit but still fine, oh wait a whooppee pie snuck it's way in, I still consider that a fruit, lol. It was the second party with the pepperoni bread, meatballs and starbucks coffee ice cream pie in an oreo cookie crust!!! Can you just feel the fat through the computer?

so off to the gym for 60 min of a$$ busting, then the chiro, then I've got to finish those darned leaves in the yard...remind me trees with leaves are NOT pretty

nicolee 02-06-2006 09:14 AM

I'm starting on Day 2 of my restart. I remember the first 3 days being very hard the last time I did this. I started to eliminate most of my bad carbs a few days before my initial start in hopes that I wouldn't go through the bad withdrawals that I did last time.

This morning I had one of those protein shakes from Ruth's recipe and it was pretty good. I can't stand the taste of my husband's protein powder though so I'm going to have to get something else. For my snack I'll be having a hardboild egg and for lunch a salad with ham, turkey, olive oil and vinegar.

Hope you ladies have a great day on the beach.

SarahinBalance 02-06-2006 09:26 AM

Help! I ate too much!

Hey Ladies,

I just couldn't stop eating last night... funny cause it was all "ok," (well the sour dough bread was questionable), but whole wheat crackers and OP dips, and wine.... just ate almost the whole box of crackers, half the loaf of bread and almost a whole bottle of wine! I know it's the superbowl, but it's the first time that I've gotten off track since I started the diet so I REALLy don't want it to be a trend... about to head off to the gym but had a really slow start thanks to the wine... makes me think about triggers... I did have some wheat thins before heading to the party... also I should have brought my own snacks which I WILL do next time... just think the thought of getting to indulge "a little" got the best of me... really hope it doesn's slow down my progress too much... I DID work out yesterday for 45 mins on the eliptical so that's something...

Oh well it's Monday, new start, going to the beach next weekend so that's motivation and I'll be heading to the gym here in a second although I'm having motivation issues..

Sarah

kyemom 02-06-2006 09:38 AM

Morning girls...I was in the sae boat as most of you with my Superbowl eating too. I feel like a pig this morning....and then I came unprepared to work...I really set myself up for a bad day....I will make myself go to Ukrops for lunch and make a salad. I really have not been very strict on myself lately..I need a good kick in the pants..Summer is coming, and I really want to look good in a bathing suit...I gotta get back on the beach with both feet !!!
Congrats Christina!!!!!!!!!!!
Soon & Pearsydew- Please let us know who wins your little bet!!

Barb0522 02-06-2006 09:39 AM

I didn't go to any Super Bowl parties and ate a healthy dinner of pork tenderloin, steamed broccoli, and garlic mustard green beans and am down a pound from what I gained from the Wood Badge potluck dinner Saturday night. Next year, I will know more how the potluck works and be better able to plan what I eat (they have four tables with food and you are assigned a particular table of food and pay your money as you get it it so it is hard to know what all the choices are). I ended up taking a couple of things that I would have skipped if I had realized that my seafood lasagne was on the table that I was at.

I've been doing good with my exercise and have my stuff for the gym in the car. Monday is when I have more time for exercise since DH takes Brian to gymnastics from 6-7 so I only have to be home with dinner on the table by 7:15.

Demeter 02-06-2006 11:17 AM

Oh boy what a weekend! I think I can hear the treadmill calling me by name!
I've got some major fat burning to do this week.
I went back to my hometown this weekend & hit the town Saturday night. I ended up drinking a few Ultra Light beers. Oopsey! Then last night, my Mom made Prime Rib & I couldn't turn it down. I know for a fact that that's not a lean cut! She's on Atkins & has been giving me a hard time about my diet & is trying to convert me to her side. Other than those things, I didn't fall too far off track. Gosh, I had such a great time & I saw so many of my old friends and classmates. Some people I haven't seen for about 10 years.
I got my new car & it's great.
I am so tired & almost didn't come in today. Why did I come to work?
I've got 3 doctors appointments this week, 2 AA's, 4 workout days, & five 8 hour work days to put in this week. And I have to get to the DMV which is always a madhouse! I just want to go home and crawl into bed all week.
My sleep is always so on schedule and if I get to bed a couple hours late it throws me all offwack!

Good job Barb - I'm impressed! Keep it up!

Later!

Stephanie Osborne 02-06-2006 12:51 PM

So I am up 2# as of last night and I can't even blame it on TOM, just bad choices foodwise. Today after a long talk with the DH and I re-committing to myself to get back on track. My habit for this week is to try and workout 5 times this week, even if it is from home. Last week I tackled water consumption and did pretty good. Not much planned for me today. Working, doing laundry and getting a workout in (I am training myself to get rid of the 'hopefully' hehe)

soon - thats sucks no celebrity sightings - you figure they would have been out all over the place. I am considering betting on you to win your bet so you better make an honest woman of me lol.

freaky - I think a great meal every once in a while is no biggie. I know you are smart enough to just treat it like a one time thing and then go back OP. How did you like Phantom?

pearsy - I thought soon was betting someone in her real life, this bet has gotten interesting lol.

crk - I am sending you good luck with your pregnancy. I did not even know you were expecting, congratulations all sorts of good news coming from you.

ruth - I am so happy for you that you discovered something you love so much. That is how I feel about photography. Time goes by and a barely notice. You will have to take a picture of one of your paintings and share it with us.

SUNLIT - I am soooooo proud of you, you and an inspiration to us all. I love planet smoothie, jamba juice is better though.

ncola - you crack me up with your football knowledge. That was me before I met my DH. He is a sports editor for a newspaper and lives eats and breathes sports so my knowledge has improved a ton. A great way to learn is to participate in the fantasy football most of the time it is free too.

batmomm - starbucks ice cream pie OMG I could not have resisted that one, did you eat a piece for me?

Sarah - get your butt to the gym, I know how badly you want to be OP and looking great for that vaca... I have that problem too , a "little" ends up being my downfall. Like you said new start...

barb - that potluck scheme sounds awful lol, I would be one who would have to pay for all four tables, just to keep my options open.

SunLit 02-06-2006 01:45 PM

Thanks, Stephanie. I've never been an inspiration. A bad example, a warning sign, sure, but not an inspiration!

What is Jamba Juice, though? Another chain? Or an option at Planet Smoothie?

weezle 02-06-2006 01:52 PM

Mooooooooooooooooooo

:moo:

That's a picture of me. Yep. Moo. Stupid Super Bowl. I tried to be healthy for about 3 minutes, and then it all went to **** after that. I'm still full from yesterday... had a smoothie for breakfast, skipped my morning snack, and had a small bowl of soup and a fat-free yogurt for lunch, and I'm stuffed now. I reiterate: Moo.

SO, back on track today. Sucking down water in hopes of flushing everything I ate out of my system. I had a LOT of sodium. Yuck! I just feel like crap!

This is why I need to not break the diet. I did SO WELL for SO LONG and then my cousin came into town and I figured one weekend of cheating wouldn't kill me. Ugh. DH went home from work Saturday night because he was so miserable from the greasy meal we ate that afternoon. I feel like a slug. Blech.

Hope you all are back on track, and kudos to those who didn't fall off the wagon this past weekend! Have a great day everyone!

Moo

angelshine90 02-06-2006 02:18 PM

I am very happy I am not the only one who made bad descions this weekend- yikes I ate like there was no tomorrow...so many bad food choices- But today is another day ..and so far (except for a few tootsie rolls) I have been OP I ate some SB cereal for breakfast and V8 peanuts and string cheese for a snack and a salad for lunch
I will prob have some coffee at 5 and either a burger or chicken for dinner.....I also worked out for 30 min this morning..which was pushing it cause I worked till midnight last night and I had an 8:30 this morning- So i am exhausted......
Its tough always being healthy-! :(

surfdreams 02-06-2006 02:35 PM

I did pretty good - sorta. I made the chicken stroganoff in the crockpot (found the recipe in the recipes section). Had too much wine though. NO - the Stones got a bad review???? I thought they were great!! Love the Stones

rotten_banana 02-06-2006 02:53 PM

UGH!

That pretty much sums up today for me  I didn't do TOO bad yesterday. Yeah, I ate off plan, but I didn't overeat which was a big accomplishment for me. I only had 2 lite beers and chuged water.

My biggest crime was a nice 2"x3" piece of chocolate cake that my sister made from my Granny's recipe. Since she passed away 3 years ago, nobody made it and we missed it. My sister just figured out what she did and it was awesome!! There was still 1/2 the cake left at the end of the night and I forced her to take it with her because I wanted to devour every last bite. I am not a person for sweets, but I love my Granny's cake (well, that and it's TOM for me and I NEED chocolate!! )

Oh well...got my 45 min intervals out of the way so I do feel better. If only I could get some more engery...

Have a great day girls!

Stephanie Osborne 02-06-2006 05:00 PM

Sunlit - another chain, I like their juice better...

RNMOM 02-06-2006 05:42 PM

Hi

I've been MIA for a few weeks...........way too busy to sit at the computer. My son came home from some training and 7 days later was gone again. This time for good. He left on Saturday for Ft Bliss and he'll go in 60-80 days to Iraq. Needless to say there have been lots of farewell parties, eating, eating and good byes....did I say eating? Don't even want to look at the scales. Anyway, I'm back.

Not enjoying wandering around this empty house. Thank good I still have a 14 year old daughter at home......(remind me sometime I actually said that)

Well, I'm off to grill a few salmon steaks for supper. Will triple my veggies tonight and drown in water!

Take care all!

Schatzi 02-06-2006 06:32 PM

The Schatzinator Returns!

What a long strange trip this has been since Saturday! It started out as just a loverly rainy overcast day.. great fer PJs and videos.. We dozed.. it rained... KABOOOOOM! Orange light and tree branches and pine cone grenades!!!!!!! The tall lolilly Pine in our neighbor/landlord house was struck by lightening.. sizzle sizzle ...Electric gone, phones gone... Firemen and EMS ...Our darling landlords got hit the worst! Pieces of foundation cinderblocks blown, walls blown... hot tub gone, water heater and all tv sterero gone.. fridge gone, no electric...
Our house next.. Desktop PC gone, printer, firewall gone, DSL box gone... CAWFEEE POT GONE!!!!! Satelite dish BAHBUY.... Phones Fried... TV went all acid trippy, but came back ok... DVD player...lost than revived... Security system toast.. Half electric outlets...gone..
The underground telephone cable was fried... I plied the Sprint repair man with Cawfee to git me and Ana up first and damn the phones (thank the telecommune gawds fer cells!) GET ME BACK ON LINE :tantrum: We are all SAFE, and that's what matters!
I had a backup cawfee pot :s: NATCH!!!! And Sprintman wants me to have his baby.. We are gerryrigged with tele cable right now as a good amount of the phone cable needs to be replaced via digging a trench and relaying on the calbe that was fried.. We will have intermintent phone/ internet connectivity until Saturday.

DH left fer Austin Tx this morn... and after dealing with sattelite man and sprint man, Me and Landlords decided to go fer a loverly long Italian late lunch..

soon2Bfab 02-06-2006 09:17 PM

Gee Schatzi.....is it a requirement of a mod to be so darn busy.....you & Ruthie are always a moving & a shakin.....Poor Laurie is so busy she rarely visits us hens. Glad you are ok!!

weezle 02-06-2006 10:41 PM

Schnatzo, again I got the weird look from DH because I about blew water out my nose laughing at your post. I'm glad everything's ok now!

Believe it or not, lightning DOES strike twice in the same place.... my parents' house. Once in 1994 and once last summer. Of course, before they got hit by lightning the second time, in May we had 50 mph winds and my dad's 80 foot ham radio tower went down on the neighbors' roof. We got that cleaned up, and then when Mom and Dad went to Key West a few months later, little bro Ryan was home with the dogs and we had a storm which knocked the tree in the front yard across his car AND the convertible which were parked in the driveway. Then came getting hit by lightning for the second time a month later.

Ironic part? My dad's a broadcast meteorologist. Yep. TV Weather Guy.

I'm so glad everybody's ok!

I made vegetable soup today.... kind of. Beef broth, 2 cans of veg-all vegetables, a can of diced tomatoes, and spices. It actually tastes pretty darn good, but it only made about 3 lunches worth. It's still pretty low calorie and I'm sure it'll be filling, so I'm excited. Plus, I'm getting rid of some of the cans in our pantry.

I don't even know if you can have it on Ph2, but Morningstar Farms just came out with some REALLY good breaded veggie bites. I couldn't remember if you could have the fake chicken on Ph2 or not.... same breading. But they made Broccoli Cheddar and Spinach Artichoke. OH are they GOOD! I'm so full. (I also ate a can of spinach.)

Ahhh crap, need to pack snacks and stuff for tomorrow. Hope everyone's evening is fantastic!
