Morning chicks!! It is supposed to be 71 degrees here today!! Yeahhh....I have to go to a funeral today, which is no fun....I am in desperate need of a weekend. I need to catch up on my sleep. I was up most of the night last night, because the power kept cutting off and on because of a storm. That darn alarm clock kept flashing and waking me up!!! DH invited people over for the supperbowl, and I invited some friends over on Sat night, so sounds like my house will be hoping all weekend. I will try to be good.

nicolee ~ I'm not too sure about smoked turkey, sorry, I should know since I've been following SB for so long. Check in the Phase 1 thread, your answer should be in there.:dizzy:
I have a pot of Barb's Braised Kale with Black Beans & Tomatoes simmering on the stove now. Kale was on sale this morning, so I bought a bunch of it. It smells delicious! I have a question that's totally off-topic, but maybe you chicks can give me some input. I'm extremely leery of giving out personal info on the phone and internet, but yesterday I called the special number to stop recieving "prescreened" offers of credit, and they wanted my SS#. I just hung up, but was it safe to give it to them? I wasn't talking to a person, it was all automated. I want to stop recieving all this junk mail that I have to end up shredding, but I don't feel comfortable giving out my SS# to stop it. What do you gals think? |
Morning, Kiko - Isn't this rain wonderful? We sure did need it but I hope it clears up soon. The roads are a mess. Richardson has no school today or Monday so Brian is at day care all day today.
Tomorrow we put out the Scouting for Food bags. I think the rain should be gone by then. Later in the day is a Wood Badge annual reunion and I have to bring a dish for 10. I have a seafood lasagne recipe that I have converted to South Beach so that's what I'm making. I thought about bringing a dessert but figured I'd better have a main dish that I knew was OP. |
Cottage - I think I had to give my SSN when I signed up to stop receivng that junk in the mail. Basically when those companies prescreen all they do is ask the credit bureaus for names of people that meet the critera they're looking for. I guess without your ssn they wouldn't be able to identify that you don't want your information given out.
Of course, I could be totally wrong so I hope someone else has some input for you. |
cottage-- I wish I could say that it was ok, but nowadays there are so many scams out there, you never know. If I were you I would try to get an actual person on the phone and ask them if it's normal protocol to ask for SS#, and why they need that information. I almost got sucked into one of those things on the internet-- everything looked legit, even the website they linked to looked exactly like the actual website, but I got wary and didn't gve them the information. Later that day, I got an e-mail from the actual company warning about that very scam. Boy, was I lucky!

Morning all!
Yay, Friday! I get to go get my new car tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!  I think I'll do my state taxes this weekend. My federal should already be in my account on the 10th! I'm buying a new bedroom furniture set. I tried the whole wheat pizza crust recipe last night & made pizza. It was good. I love making pizza at home & I did it all the time before but now I can have it OP. Yum-yum. There were some leftovers but DH took 'em to work. Oh-well. I'm thinking of going to Olive Garden for lunch. I pulled out a pair of pants that I haven't been able to wear for about 7 months & they fit! :goodscale I'll check in again later. Have a nice day, Chickees!   |
Mornin' ladies... well had my first whole wheat bun yesterday since Phase 2 (only ate half, was on a chicken sandwhich at Chili's) but it was GOOD... It's prob not the best idea to trust that there's NO white flour in it but doing the best that I can ; ) Also had my first wine last night but wasn't very good since it was from a beer bar that my BF was playing at... goal is when I drink to work out a little extra to account for the additional cals...
MAN TGIF! Heading into the weekend and so looking forward to relaxing as well as the fact that there's only 1 more weekend before me and BF go off for a weekend getaway at the coast... I cannot freaking wait! We've been together for a couple of years but if you can believe have never gone off just the 2 of us on a trip... he wanted to take the kids (dogs) but I put my foot down... what kind of romantic get-away would it be with the kids? Hey what does OP mean? Is it "On Phase?" |
Sarah, You're close - "On Program". There's a really helpful abreviation thread somewhere in Chicks on the Beach. I'll look for it.

Good Morning All!
Yes it is TGIF and up here in the moutains its sunny and clear, and dry! Cottage - I would be real hesitant about giving out my SSN. I know others will give you more opinions. Nicole - Two of my dogs have 49'rs jerseys with their names on them. We make a joke during football season, we have to "dress the dogs." By the way you kitty is adorable - we have 3 cats - 3 dogs. Luckily today my sciatic is not bothering me - I got to keep my fingers crossed - I have a HUGE clinic tomorrow with 20 dogs. Got to keep this old body together! Have a wonderful weekend everyone! |
Danielle, Where did you get the whole wheat pizza crust recipe? I would love it. We are making pizzas all the time. I make my dough in the bread machine. Of course I have not enjoyed it as much as the family has. They are huge pizza fans. Well I did not get a work out in today. Feeling a cold coming on. I thought I would rather rest today than wear myself down for the rest of the weekend. Anyone have any favorite soups recipes they just love, I have made several out of the sb cookbooks but I am looking for something new. My dh is making chili tom. With stew meat. That should be ok right.? Anyway hope you all have a great day.

Hey, Chickies!
Hope everyone's having a fantastic Friday! I only made Pizza crust once...our Wegman's out here had Wheat pizza crust that only has a little white flour and mostly whole wheat...it hasn't affected my loss at all and it's easy to work with. Comes frozen in a ball...you defrosted, roll out, and bake. I used it to make other things, like krautbaruch (meat, cabbage, and onion pastries) and it works well. :) DH's birthday is this weekend, so I'm making him a cake today and then making a big german meal tomorrow for him. All will be safe for me to eat...I'm interested in seeing how this cake works out! :) Yesterday I made brownies for my book club meeting. First time I made them since being on the diet...I used a 'from scratch' recipe and made them SBD safe. They were delicious (and I ate way too many!!! ) but I'm thrilled that I can make brownies...I just have to put the darn things in the freezer right away so I don't eat them all! I also made 'turtles' using SF caramels and bittersweet chocolate chips. Will try one on Saturday (my day for eating chocolate) and tell you how they turned out...but DH ate three, so I have a feeling they are good. ;) Have a great weekend, chickies! I went to the gym this morning and did weights and cardio...felt so good! :strong: |
Cottage--
I copied this from the Clark Howard website. Clark is a syndicated consumer advocate who is based here in the Atlanta area. The telephone number, 1-888-5-OPT-OUT, was set up to establish a single point of contact for consumers to call to request that all three major U.S. credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion) remove consumers' information from the marketing lists and pre-approved credit offer lists sold to third parties. By entering your information, you prevent the credit bureaus from releasing your personal information to credit card companies. As a result, you should receive fewer credit card solicitations in the mail. Calling the number in the e-mail will not stop your bank, credit union, brokerage company, etc. from selling your information. For that, you must respond individually to the "Privacy Policy" statements you received from each financial institution in the mail. Or, you must call the institution or company yourself. Also, it is ok to enter yout Social Security number when prompted for it. The system needs that to verify your identity and remove you from the lists. Hope that helps! |
Hey girlies! TGIF INDEED!!!!! It's going to be a long, but fun-filled weekend. I hope I get some time to rest in between all the fun and busyness.
Another day of serving Pizza Friday and I'm still on the wagon. WAHOO! Mom's homemade split pea soup and a yogurt for me. It was tempting today. I beat it though! :carrot: I'm so excited that my cousin's coming into town tonight! I can't wait to see her (and for her to see me!) We have so many things planned this weekend! I just need to make sure I get all my exercise in. Just a quick drive by. Hope you all survive the server switch tonight! Take care until we meet again! Lisa |
Hey ladies,
I am the queen of water consumption lately so that is great. I am not the workout queen unfortunately. Life has been soooo busy I need to make it a point to MAKE time to get my butt to the gym. I really want to hit my Feb goal and we already two days in with no workout :( I will be happy when I have everything unpacked and can workout at home when time is in a crunch! I just feel guilty being home and not working to unpack this horrible mess of boxes that has consumed my house! soon - wow thats a pretty good order! No big plans for this weekend, just watching the superbowl and hopefully making it to the gym. freaky - OOOOOH I love Phantom, I saw it 8 years ago. It just came to my town on tour in Dec but tickets sold out to fast for me to get them! pear - I think that is great that you bet your friend, I love that kind of motivation. Kiko - wow sounds like you have your hands full with your kids :) mamacita - although not OP at all sounds like my kind of house j/k ncola - that avatar is soooooooo cute! nicolee - welcome back! kyemom - Your right funerals are no fun :( Good luck staying OP this weekend, a house full of crazies might just drive me to cookie dough! cottage - the way you get signed up to get most of that junk is by your SS# being sold by different marketing companies. To stop it they probably would need your SS but I would feel kind of wary of giving it to a recording. Demeter - congrats on the pants! I love that feeling, unfortunately I am still waiting on my skinny clothes. sarah - I am soooo jealous, I need a vaca, I agree leave the 'kids' at home. |
