  • Well chicks...I did it. I got all the hair chopped off. I don't have any pictures yet but it's very short. Think modern Sharon Stone - except that I don't look like her - lol. Funny thing was, after all this time, I wasn't even scared.

I guess this is my year. Quit smoking, start a healthy way of eating, and cut off all that hair. This is me growing up finally and at 36 I think it's about time.

By the way...I LOVE my hair. It shows off my high cheek bones and my dimples in a way that I've never noticed before. Makes me feel powerfull not to hide under that hair. And gives me another good reason to keep the weight off.

I will take pictures this weekend when I am out for my birthday bash and post them for you. Thank You every one for the encouragment!!! I wish I could take you all along for the party this weekend and buy you thank you drinks - wine of course!!!

I think this site has been such a boost for me. I hope it is that way for everyone.
  • good for you!!! I just went short too and it is so fun. I bet you look great.
  • Cool can't wait to see pics
  • Shall I meet you on The Bridge to Canada and take your pic to post? Getting short hair is very liberating.
  • How Fabulous Freaky! G O O D 4 U!
  • Freaky, I can't wait to see your new "do"! In my opinion, there's nothing that boosts my morale better than a day at the hairdresser's.
  • I'm eager to see the pics, too. I hate long hair - I really prefer it short! It's long now mostly because I haven't bothered to cut it recently - too busy! My favorite length is somewhere between my chin and my earlobes. Naturally DH prefers long hair (what is it with guys and long hair??), but then I don't tell him to chop his locks off for my sake (his hair is longer than mine), so I don't feel obliged to keep my hair long for his!
  • You'll LOVE having short hair! It's so much easier I think.
I remember when I first went short MANY years ago. My hair was down to my a** and I had it all lopped off. I never felt anything so freeing! I've stayed short ever since.
The last few years I have worn something similar to a modern Sharon Stone look. I had it layered, soft spiked, etc. LOVE it! I refer to it as my punk-mom look. Of course being a mom going on 50 my teenagers are embarrassed. But boy is it easy - I call it wash & wear hair and here it is!
    Can't wait to see yours!!

  • What a FABULOUS way to start the new year. I'm sure it looks great!
  • Thanks!!! It was a fun day at work with everyone doing double takes!!!
  • Love the Hair
However I can't beleive that is the picture you put up of yourself- a little buzzed- hmmm. But I do love your hair. Mamahulk!!!!!!!!
  • oh my god
forgot that the scale is in my signature- don't you tell a sole how much I weigh. I know how supportive your are but please don't tell anyone at work how much I weigh ok!!!! Thanks mamahulk- (KP)
  • Silly...we are all here to support one another and I happen to think your one hot mama!!! Keep up the good work!!! I would never do that in a million years. You know how sensative I am about the whole issue. I'm glad your here!!!
  • Wow your quick. I know how great your are about this but with how weird some people can be I just want to make sure it never get's out. I am so sad about how much I have to loose. But am so thankful for all the support.
  • Mamahulk - don't be sad! Be happy: you are on the right track now!

Our current and goal weights are similar, so we can cheer each other on!

    Good luck!
