Afraid to start Stage 2

Hi everyone. I'm new here and on SBD. I started Phase 1 a little over 2 weeks ago and lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. I feel great and I'm so proud of myself. But now I am starting Phase 2 and I'm scared. Is this normal? It took me a few days to feel comfortable eating in Phase 1 and now I'm afraid to leave my comfort zone again. Is that silly or what? I'm so afraid I'll eat a bread or fruit and send myself back out of control.

I'm hoping you can just encourage me so I know I can do it.

Thanks!

Amy

This is normal, Amy. Check out the FAQ section for information on starting phase 2. Add back in things gradually so that you know how they affect you. It sounds like you have done really well on phase 1 but you do need to move on.

Thanks Barbara. I added in a piece of whole grain breas this morning since I needed a quick on the go breakfast so I did this with a little peanut butter to tide me over til after the school play. It worked well, tasted good and kept me satisfied so so far so good. I'll just go it slow as suggested and back up if I feel myself getting out of control.

I'm so happy to have found this place. You are all a great inspiration!

Merrry Merry!

Amy, congrats on your success with the Beach so far!

I am in Phase 2 now, about two weeks into it, and I definitely shared your feelings about moving from the comfort of Phase 1 into something completely different. It sounds like you have the right idea about transitioning in slowly. I started with one item (in my case, rice), tried it for a week, then added a bit more in week 2. I think most of us go through this nervous feeling!

I'm so glad you've found some support here on this forum, and best of luck to you!
