It's Monday and time to chat!!!!!
I guess I'll start us up this morning.
All the fair stuff is gone and out of my neighborhood, thank goodness. Finally, life can be back to normal and I can park in front of my house again. Yesterday was day one of P1 for me and it went well but I found I skipped dinner cause I wasn't hungry. Ended up snacking on a sf fudgecicly and a cheese stick later. I had gotten my veggie allowance in for the day though with B'fast and lunch. I made the best 15 min Italian Sausage soup. It's just got onions, lean turkey sausage, italian seasoning, olive oil, and frozen italian blend veggies. It tasted yummy last night when I made it and prob will be better for dinner today. I just wanted to double check that lean turkey sausage is OK. If not, next time I'll make it with vegetarian sausage. There's no more fat per serving than is in the b'fast patties that are used in the book....oh, maybe I could make that homemade turkey sausage recipe in the cookbook. That woudl be interesting! My copy of the good fats good carbs, and the 30 min Cookbook were shipped from Amazon today. Can't wait to get them!! I love cookbooks! :) Today I get to give exams where as last week I got to take them....would much rather be giving  . So what's up on your part of the sand today? |
Manic Monday Chat
Morning all you beautiful Chicks. It's almost 7 am here(Central Time) and no has started, so I suppose I will.
I actually got up this morning, and did the weight-loss pilates. I hated getting out of bed early, but I did it, and feel better than I thought I would. Already got my shower, DS is still asleep, and I have my oatmeal and Orange Green Tea. Its going to be boring at work today, so I will color his 'book' for him. I want to thank all the Chicks for those sites. I found so many things he would like. :grouphug: I am going to plan on doing 30 min on the weight training dvd tonite. SO that give me 65 min total. :cb: How's everyone else doing on the beach today????? :) |
Pearshape, they say great minds think alike!!!!! ;) :D
|
:D !! Too true, Wendy! Ruth will combine them when she wakes up.
|
That was exactly my thought when I saw both threads, :lol3:
Good ol' girl that Ruth is. :D |
Whaddaya mean "wake up"????? I was up before dawn cracked getting my kitchen set for Romano and his minions. Let me combine the threads and I'll be back....with a coffee.
|
Duh!! I should've known you'd be up with the roosters, Ruth! :D
|
See? That getting up early(for me) got to me.
Absolutely Ruth was awake, duh........ :dizzy:  |

Mornin ladies. I have cleaners coming this aft to fall clean the gunge outa my kitchen.
2 women tho. Not as sexy as Romano I am sure. This will be the best $100 I have spent in a long time. Thanks to the Avon bonus Godesses. Once these screeching maniacs go to school I will have 2 toddlers for the morning.Going to Storytime at the Library. Then a tidy of the kitchen and wash some dishes and then I will file and do office work or go deliver Avon books this aft. The sunrise glowed pink this morning. Incredible. My eating this weekend was not incredible BUT so much better than the last month and I did stop myself from over indulging. I kept the bad carbs at bay. HUGS ladies!!! A pic from the princess party. |
Good morning ladies,
Ugh! Today has been a bad start for me. I set my alarm early to get up and do some things, make breakfast, etc. But, I didn't notice that the battery was down. I woke up this morning. The clock said 4:00 and I thought, "Then, why am I so awake." I got up to potty and looked at another clock. 6:45 :( Definitely a bad start. Luckily, one of my co workers makes egg beaters and turkey bacon in the morning for us. :goodvibes I am down 16 ounces of water already and am sipping on a second bottle. :D DS was in a BAD mood this morning. But, he went willingly into his class. PHEW! Well, I better get some work done. |
Well, the Girls have taken to howling when Ralph toots his horn. :(, It sounds just awful - as if someone has died! So naturally I am up BEFORE the roosters! (Who don't holler around here until nearly seven these dark mornings!)
Pearshape, I am sure you are mega-relieved that the Fair is over and life has settled back to normal. I love our Fair but also like getting the quiet of the Village back. That soup sounds good. The problem with turkey sausage is that it includes dark meat which we aren't supposed to have but......the fat is very low and some rules can stand a little stretching. Wenchy, thanks for starting us up. I do that all the time - start a post and then someone else sneaks in ahead of me! I hope your day isn't too boring and that you do get time to do Pilates. You exercising chickies make me feel so guilty but it doesn't last long! Hollyhock, the de-grungers will be well worth the money! A clean kitchen is worth a thousand Romanos. I am still looking for a Gail replacement. The Princess party is wonderful! :woo: I am going to try to save it. If it doesn't work, I'll email you for a copy. Djett, I hate it when my Doggie Alarm doesn't go off at the usual time - especially on a busy day. How lucky :lucky: you are to have a co-worker cook SBD for you. I hope DS comes home with an attitude adjustment. My kitchen is ready for Romano. He will not be here at his usual early start time (7:30 last week) because he has to get his "guys" working on other jobs. Then he'll be here to do my drywall. I think I'm getting personal attention because he knows he overcharged me. His estimate was based on major problems - like the chimney tiles all falling down - but we shook on it so...... Visiting Harry yesterday went pretty well. I got him down to the lounge for a coffee and then we sat outside for a while. Lucy was her usual charming self. I just know she will have no problem passing the Thera-Paws evaluation in four weeks. Of course, Mummy won't be the evaluator. She needs practice in meeting other dogs which I'll have to work on before then. She's too enthused and wants to play - a tail wag and sniff is acceptable while on lead. This morning, after R. arrives, I plan to take a dog for a walk. It doesn't sound like much but I've been avoiding walking them because of fear of tripping. Hersh walks best so I guess it will be her turn first. I have some Tylenol3 for knee pain and have just taken one. I've never had side effects from them but we will see. Have a super day, Chickies. I guess I'd better go and update the Sept. weightloss thread. Anyone else for October targets? |
Good Morning EveryBuddy!!! drat a completely crappy weekend.. Both DH and I had some sort of stomach bug... kept us in and close to the bathroom ;) .. Bleah! But Right as Rain this morning :) I'll be going to Harris Teeters for more Phase 1 stuff..and to Michaels for Pumpkin carving stuff..I'm planning on at least 5 carvings this holloween and my tools need replacing ... Unfortunately I was on like...Phase 5 the last week... So, off to the Phase 1 thread to join in !
Hope your day is Sunny Side UP!!! :sunny: |
Morning Chicks!!! I had an aweful lot of bad choices this weekend...Went out to dinner & dancing with girlfriends, and lets just say...Wine was not my drink of choice, and the tortilla chips I ate were not OP!!! Oh well, start a new!! Sounds like everyone had a nice weekend.
DJETT- how was the Melting Pot? That is my favorite rest. DH & I went there 2 weeks ago...so yummy!!!! Wenchy- Is DS feeling better? Ruth- I know you must be happy to have your hot water back...It is the simple things that we take for granted. Schatzi- Hope you are feeling better!! Holly- Wish I had cleaners coming to my house...enjoy !! Pear- I so can not believe you got a ticket for parking in front of your own place...Hope your dog drove them crazy!!! |
RuthIf you could put me down for a 4 pound loss in October that would be grand. :)
Holly I am so jealous!! I so want someone to come in a give this house a deep clean. That is one thing that we will do if we ever make enough money- even if it is once a month. It would relieve a lot of stress for me! Pear We are planning on going to the Texas State Fair on Thursday. Talk about unhealthy food! Apparently they even have deep-fried Twinkies! How gross is that?? Wenchy WTG on getting out of bed to exercise!! I have got to get that habit going as it is going to be the only time I can fit any in! Schatzi Hope you are feeling better! Your weekend doesn't sound like much fun. :( Djett Nothing worse than waking up late and trying to get kids out the door. That is when I always feel like the worst mom- snapping at my 3 1/2 year old before the day even begins! I am sure you handle it better than I! Me- First "official" day off today. Doctor's appt for the baby this morning and big DD's dance class this afternoon. I am going to throughly enjoy being home and relaxing this week. I cleaned the living room and one bathroom on Saturday- today I will tackle the kitchen. Have a super day! |
Kiko- It depends on what day you ask me! LOL This morning, I handled it pretty well. But, he was in a terrible mood.
Kyemom- It was awesome! My only regret was being so full when the chocolate came along. :D I still made a pig of myself! |
Ruth~ I did email you a copy.
I cant really afford a cleaner and it is just once. I received a bonus from Avon so I am using that. I cant wait!! |
Kiko - I love the State Fair! But the food is awful! It's hard to find anything remotely healthy to eat there. RISD gets off next Monday for Fair day and I wish I could take the day off and go then but since I'm off this Thurs and Fri for Wood Badge training, I just didn't feel I could take another day off.
I finally have the Wood Badge project totally done and packed safely in my backpack. Now I need to work on my presentation. I'm trying to keep it to 2 minutes but it is still almost 2.5 min long. We're also doing a skit/story for the campfire and we have a really funny one we found on the internet called You Might Be a Wood Badger... Well, it's funny if you've been to Wood Badge training. ;) Right now it looks like I will have to bring a sleeping bag. While the low temp last session was about 80, they are predicting a low of 41 for Thursday night. That's cold for a Texan! |
Morning all...I'm up doing laundry...yuck - but it has to be done. I work later today - ugh!
I had the weekend off, yesterday DBF & I went to Toys r Us & did some xmas shopping for the little niece & his little cousin. It was fun....I got her a cabbage patch kid...remember those!? I can remember my mom standing in line at Kmart at 4:00 in the morning with my grandmother to get my sister & I one! Luckly I didn't have to do that!! I did have to search for a Cloe Bratz doll & after I found the one I wanted, some little girl tried to take it out of my cart! What the?!! I snarl at her...not very nice, but I dug for this doll for 20 mins! Well I'm doing phase 1 this week...trying to jump start some weight loss...cottage cheese & tomotoes for b-fast, turkey chili for dinner...still thinking about lunch!! Have a great day!! |
Hello
Well, things are a little back to normal here after being in Utah to help my son with his fence and then I worked from 10:00 to !0:00pm I'm wasted this morning. My daughter is out of school for potato harvest so there is no reason to get up early. I love that. I'm so wiped out from work yesterday, I may just take a nap.
Didn't do great on eating over the weekend, I sure need to be in my element. I didn't prepare very well to be gone. I was supposed to be done with phase 1 today, but I think I'll extend that until Wednesday or Thursday. Phase 1 is actually easier for me once I'm in the mode, adding fruit and good carbs is sometimes pretty dangerous for me. I think I'm also going to join the exercise challenge, maybe I could be a princess some day. Well, all you lovely ladies take care and take charge! |
Just a fly-by to share this tidbit:
According to a recent World Health Organization (WHO) report, eating the equivalent of at least four cups of vegetables and fruits a day could reduce lung cancer worldwide by 12 percent. The Beach is the place to be! |
Good morning to all you chicks on the beach,
I had a pretty good weekend and I was able to stay on plan. Mostly because we were home. I started phase II last week. added some strawberries and used some whole wheat flour one night, no cravings so I added oatmeal this morning. My DS's girlfriend broke it off this weekend so I'm living with a heartbroken adolescent. This morning has been housekeeping and laundry this afternoon I have Dentist appt. and I wants to surf for some make ahead breakfast and dessert recipes. Pearshape - glad the fair is gone and I'm envious of your new cookbook hope it arrives soon Wenchy - sounds like you got off to a super start this am and hope you reach your 65min exercise goal Hollyhock - What a great time to have cleaners come - before all the holidays, and congrats on not overindulging. Djett - Sorry you got off to a late start, hope it doesn't affect the rest of your day. Ruthxxx - Hope your walk goes safely. I tripped walking my Bostons about a month ago and I didn't have any knee problems only clumsiness. Schatzi - Sorry you had the bug and good luck on returning to phase I this week Kyemom - Your choices may not have been th best this weekend but what fun to spend time with your girlfriends. I'm so glad we get a fresh start each day. Kiko - Enjoy your time off Barb0522 - After listening to all your hard work I think you should be awarded a Wood Badge - Wish we had a gust of that cool air here I think it's supposed to be 92 toady Soon2Bfab - I'm glad someone is starting their Christmas shopping I still don't want to think about it yet. Hope phase I gives you a jump start and since it's almost lunchtime, that you have thought of something phase I fabulous to eat RNMOM - After all your hard work you deserve a nap. Eating out of town is hard. The last time I visited my mom I took a cooler filled with phase I friendly food and I still made some bad choices. If I missed you this am forgive me and I hope all of you have a great day on the beach! |
Hello Dear Ones,
I love reading ALL your posts and as much as I want to respond to each one individually, I won't have time today. I am on day 3 of Ph 1 and feeling a big slump coming on. Had a problem and work and IMMEDIATLEY thought about eating. But I didn't...know why? I didn't want to have to tell you guys about it!!!! I swear that's true. I'm off to eat fish and asparagus for lunch. |
Taramoon- Isn't amazing how you feel accountable to women on your computer screen? LOL I also have a friend that IM throughout the day. She is the one that has been talking to me about my sugar addiction for about 2 years. She holds me accountable and even worse, she ASKS what I ate! :dizzy: We also keep each other in check on the water department. I'm glad that you resisted. Keep it up!
|
2 bt mom - We're also supposed to be 92 today as well. But we have a cold front coming through before the camping trip and the location is north of here (on the Oklahoma border) so it gets cooler there. We probably will feel cooler than you though. I remember well the humidity when I was growing up in Tampa.

Happy Monday Greetings Girlies!! I am pulling my towel up and setting out my unsweet tea and a book this afternoon. Well, at least for a little bit before getting back to the housework and kid play. I have recently had to give up reading very much and I have missed it terribly. Nothing like getting lost in a great book even if it is just for 15 minutes at a time.
I apologize for not getting to respond to everyones post very often... I always feel great when I get to touch base with everyone in the chat but I know that at lunch time I will invariably get called away. Right now I am keeping an eye on Beren. He's our 2 1/2 year old. This weekend he decided that he would give the potty a try. YAY!!! :D He has been running around with no bottoms on and I keep asking him if he needs to go. His potty has been moved all around the house :). it's right next to me in the living room now. Restarting phase 1 has been good. This is day 3 and so far I feel good. I had a minor slip yesterday at lunch but it was not too bad in the scheme of things. I am back down on the lower side of my yo-yo # from last month. I am hoping ot be able to update my ticker in a few days. I wanna see those lbs gone for a little while before updating. Exercise question -- I did about 5 hours worth of major cleaning on Saturday here at home and I was wondering how much time I should count / can count on my exercise chart. I have put 1 hour worth towards my goal. Does this sound reasonable? |
Hi everyone - I'd love to post a nice, long response to all your posts, but I'm short on time (as usual) - I'm behind in my reading, so now I have 4 chapters of my Environmental Science text to read, plus all of Beowulf (including the intro) and assorted essays. That's in addition to homework - and to top it off, DS has a pretty bad cold.
I hope you all have a great day! As they say, no rest for the wicked! So back to work I go.... |
