Anyone heard of OLIVIO? Butter Spread???

  • Hey Ladies... I found this butter spread called OLIVIO and I'm wondering if it's good for the SBD?

It looks like it's butter flavored spread made with olive oil?
I saw that Butter is frowned upon in SBD - Was wondering if this would be better?

  • Looks OK to me aside from the partially hydrogenated oil. That rings a warning with me. Smart Balance is made OK because it contains no hydrogenated oil. We need to avoid the fatty acids that are created by the process of hydrogenation.
  • Smart Balance is better? That will make my DH happy - That's what we normally have in the house... I thought the olive oil would have made it healthier?

    Thanks for the feedback....

  • Smart Balance has one made with flax seed oil, which makes it higher in omega 3 fatty acids.

"Smart Balance® Light Buttery Spread with Flax Oil
Provides 300 mg of Omega-3 per serving to achieve an ideal 4 to 1 ratio
of Omega-6 to Omega 3. Non hydrogenated. No trans fatty acids. Patented balance of natural oils to help improve the good to bad cholesterol ratio."

It tastes pretty good, it's what I use all the time.
