Hungry Girl's FIND OF THE MONTH...

Crispy Delites - Red Onion!

Are you a fan of onion rings, Funyuns, or those greasy fried onion things you toss on top of casseroles during the holidays? If you answered YES to any of these Qs, you'll want to get your mitts on some new Crispy Delites Red Onion snacks! All natural, and made with nothing but red onions, canola oil and sea salt, these crunchy wonders have just 110 calories and 2.5g of fat per bag. And they manage to cram in 3g of fiber, too. That adds up to just two points if you're counting
Great alone as a snack, on salads, or as a guilt-free swap for your green bean casseroles, these "baked not fried" treats are one of Hungry Girl's newest addictions. In addition to Red Onion, Crispy Delites come in all sorts of other veggie flavors, like Taro, Carrot, Celery and Asian Cucumber. And there are a bunch of yummy fuji apple flavors as well! You can order these chips online, or look for them at select Whole Foods stores and other health-conscious markets.

Hungry Girl gives Red Onion Crispy Delites TWO YUMS UP!
Chip, chip hooray!

I would need to see the rest of the nutritional info but somehow I doubt they are all that healthy....packaged snacks rarely are.

110 calories a serving and 80mg salt. I think I'd rather have a piece of fruit.

Ang, these are intriguing! I wouldn't make a daily diet of them, as they have little nutritional value and are basically a source of fat, but they would be great as an addition to things like casseroles or on salads and such.

According to this website: http://www.yummydelights.com/Merchan...ct_Code=crreon , they are made with only the three ingredients you mentioned. Normally, Bups is right...these aren't what you would call 'healthy' as they are fried, but they are fried in a super good fat and they are definitely healthier than most of the onion products out there, by far. Let us know what you think if you try them! :)

(I think this one stays away from Ruth shouting "Frankenfood!", as all the ingredients are normal, whole foods. ;) )

NO artificial colorings!
NO artificial flavorings!
NO monosodium glutamate (MSG)!

Unlike other big brand Onion Rings and Onion Chips with fifteen plus ingredients these have only three; sweet red onions, a touch of oil to bake them and a pinch of salt.

I'd say ingredient wise, it's SBD friendly. But I'd make in an occasional food, not an everyday food.
