Although I am still new to this ( day 5 of phase 1 ) I have learned:

That I actually have more willpower than I ever thought I had.

( I've also learned to read yogurt labels better) see my post on AAaaack if you need explanation about that one

A few things I have learned:
- Diet plans work if you can find the one thats for you and stick to it
- Just bc you mess up once doesnt mean you have to throw away the whole day and eat anything you want.
- I can live without cake and coca cola
- low fat and fat free doesnt always mean good for you
- sbd recipes are actually good and dont taste like dog food
- i love natural pb more than anything now

I have learned:
My kids will eat whatever I prepare for them...whether it's baked chicken and broccoli or spaghetti!
I have a lot more stamina than I thought I did.
I can run up stairs not just down.
Eating Chocolate is not as satisfying as it used to be.
I've learned not to be afraid of the dressing rooms in department stores! (they can be fun)
Drinking enough water does make your skin glow! and the water retention disappear! (my feet have never looked better)
I'm learning to accept myself as I am now, knowing that just losing weight isn't going to make me a different person...believing in myself will make me a different person.

I have learned that I can get back up and try again and again and again. It is not failure unless I stop trying.

I have learned that planning is everything for me. Without one, I totally fall apart.

I have learned that it is very easy to let one little deviation totally throw off my plan.

I have learned that I still have a lot to learn.

And best of all, I haev learned that there are many people just like me on this board who have been where I am and are here to offer support.

I love reading these!

A few more things I've learned:

I've learned that once a week grocery shopping is now a thing of the past.

I don't really hate exercise! :strong:

Food pushers seem to de-lurk whenever I go on a diet. :hungry:

I have the ability to turn my nose up at the food pushers

Wow, Ellis, I think this goes down in history as one of the best threads of all time!!! :faint: You are super cool, chickies...I love what you've written!

I've learned....
  • that I can do anything I really want to do, including eat vegetables and liking it! :faint:
  • being healthy feels better than I could have ever imagined.
  • being thinner is scary!
  • practice makes perfect...or at least better than before. The more I practice this WOE, the better I get at adopting it as a lifestyle.
  • putting on a sports bra should count as exercise.
  • no one's journey through weight loss is the same as anyone else's, but we can learn a lot from each other nonetheless. :D
  • that when I make the time to pray and journal, I feel better.
  • that I had a bunch of feelings I was stuffing with food...when I stopped running to food all the time, I suddenly felt those feelings for the first time in years. It was amazing!
  • to never underestimate the importance of support...here at 3FC and at home. It can make or break your success.

 , beachgal!! I sooo agree that putting on a sports bra should count as exercise...if they dont have front or back closures they are murder to get off...esp. when you're all hot and sweaty!! I know which ones to buy now that's for sure! :D

valerie910 07-25-2005 05:08 PM

that's not counted as exercise? :yikes:

I've got to agree...this thread rocks!

ellis 07-25-2005 07:33 PM

Over the head sports bras definitely count as exercise. Sometimes I get so badly caught, I'm afraid I'm going to have to call for help in getting it off. :yikes:

KimberlyHeidi 07-25-2005 07:44 PM

ellis thanks for the good laugh about the sports bras!
