Darling, Out of bad comes good... at least there was a lesson learned in it for you :D Getting to know what our weaknesses are and how to deal with them is half the battle!

Lesson Learned

My two sons went to see Charlie and the Chocolate factory last night with the grandparents - I'm so glad I passed on that one!!

Sounds like a few of us have learned some lessons here. Just because we are eating SBD approved foods or recipes doesn't mean we are safe with all of them. If we know we won't stop with one then it's probably a good idea to not start at all. My downfall was the fudge pops, sigh. Ohhhh....I forgot to mention the SBD friendly Cool Whip....When I pulled it out of the freezer and took a bite right out of the tub like it was ice cream I KNEW I WAS GOING TO BE IN TROUBLE. Thankfully I came to my senses after the first bite...it ended up in the garbage last night covered in Mr Clean so that I wouldn't have second thoughts and dig it out of the garbage....EWWWWW!!! (Mr. Clean is my new boy friend, shhhhh...don't tell my fiance ;) ) I was going to try the peanut butter cookies today...I'm thinking that may not be such a good idea in my case.

Yeah, I won't let myself buy the cool whip. I know what you mean, it's always when I'm standing over the container, having not portioned out a serving, and I take a deep breath and think "this is going to be bad". Spoon in the jar of PB, or the tub of cool whip, hand in the nut jar, or the bag of cheese... eek! I am going to make a rule for myself from now on. I have to put a portion on my plate and go SIT DOWN away from the fridge or panty. This is important- my dad and i have a really bad habit of standing in the kitchen and eating. I'm goign to insist that we sit down from now on, and hopefully that will help!

And I thought I was the only one! I sometimes will have a spoonful of cool whip ff and natural pb and sometimes i come back for a second and then I feel guilty!!

K@t,
I totally know how you feel! I could eat Doritos and cheetos alllllll day. But then after I have salty food, i always have to balance it out with something sweet. Sorta like a ying and yang thing. Oh my gosh, reading everyone's "Bad" foods has made me soooo hungry. I'm going to go drink some water.

KimberlyHeidi 07-17-2005 03:32 PM

Mary I am with you! Gotta go drink some water and stop thinking about those yummys!

I have been good with the fudge pops only had one every other day but the cool whip and PB I have had a little too much of so I have to be careful! Who would of thought I could be addicted to foods I once hated!

KimberlyHeidi 07-17-2005 03:34 PM

Val- You gave me a good laugh with the Mr Clean!

valerie910 07-17-2005 03:57 PM

Kimberly - Mr Clean now sits on my countertop in the kitchen...he's the first thing I see when I walk in. Funny, I swear he winked at me today. Yeah, I've got a thing for big, buff, bald men :strong: And my garbage can has never smelled better

Hey, whatever works right?

Today will be my second binge free day! YAY ME...YAY, YAY! :cb: :dancer:

KimberlyHeidi 07-17-2005 04:27 PM

Val- You go girl!! Today I have not had any PB or FF cool whip. I decided just a fudge pop today since tomorrow is weigh in day. I am both excited and nervous, I know that sounds weird huh? Tomorrow I am also going to start adding in workouts. Wish me luck bc I still never feel like working out!

KimberlyHeidi 07-17-2005 04:29 PM

Val- Meant to also ask you what are you doing for workouts? I cant decide wheather I want to do a week of aerobics and then the next week of treadmill and then add the two together the following week or if I want to do a day of aerobics and then a day of treadmill etc. I just dont want to overdo it because I know in 3 weeks when I go to phase #2 I will need to up my workouts to compensate!

That is a GREAT plan! I'm a notorious kitchen eater myself...I'm going to apply that same rule in my house. Way to address the problems, hun!!

We CAN do this!

valerie910 07-17-2005 04:46 PM

Kimberly - I've been only walking this week...with an occasional dip in our pool in the evening. And let me tell you...I HATE EXERCISE!! But I do it anyway.

I'm pretty in shape despite my weight...being 5-10 with a large frame I often fool people in regards to what I actually weigh. I've always been physically active and love being out doors. The problem has been that I flat out stopped working out for the last 6 months or so and I really want to just take it one day at a time. I walk first thing in the morning for 45 minutes to an hour in a nearby park....if it's too hot out I'll use the treadmill. When I've gotten myself firmly into this routine I plan on adding back my 'firm' sculpting videos at least three times a week.

The thing is - 45 minutes is fine for me...but it may not be fine for you. The key is to just commit to getting out there and moving. Maybe start with 20 minutes and go from there. I set my first exercise challenge at 7 days straight because I know that I'm going to need some kudos right away in regards to exercise.

Did I mention I hate exercising? ;)

You can do it!

KimberlyHeidi 07-17-2005 05:33 PM

Val- I hate it too. I used to do aerobics for an hour, treadmill for an hour and weights for 45 min daily. I cant even imagine doing that all again but know I need to build up to it. I try and get on the treadmill during Sex and The City but I get so lazy and just like sitting on the couch watching it!
